no joke but what I really want for Buddy Daddies as a fandom is to make fanart and fanfic post present time ep12 where Rei wears an arm orthosis when working.

I think varied disability aids being represented would be fantastic, and personally would write Rei as someone being deeply proud of something he's done for his family, but also understanding with time that using an orthosis also helps him at work and in raising Miri. with a giant portion of mobility/motorics aids being represented by prosthetics, seeing more variety and exploring it in fiction would also help making a step in normalising disability treatments.

so eve (good friend) loves me dearly because shes fed me and has humored me with a topic that lingers in the back of my head a lot with dante. it's to do with their belongings or well, the lack thereof of them. most notably this post will dwelve into the topic of clothing. eve brought up this question to me that was more or less wondering if dante would have the one outfit ( their work uniform ) and how they would take to sinners offering to bring them out shopping.

both of these things are stuff i want to go over so i'll start by picking off the first part.

are these the only clothes they have?

answer: no, but yes!

i do like to think dante has at least one additional outfit but it's not wholly something they feel connected too in the present. and the few times they have worn it. something just doesn't feel right. it's a weird mental thing that definitely ties into the "this is not someone i'm familiar with seeing" because the them of now only knows themselves as the executive manager of limbus company. whoever the them that once wore this other outfit was ... is something they don't particularly connect with which is why it never sees any use.

"do they want other clothing?"

answer: it's complicated

dante uses "their head" as a crutch or excuse to get themself out of certain things or avoid having people bring up certain topics. if someone manages to shoot down that, they'll deflect to another which is ... the idea of any sort of finances being spent on them being unneeded. this idea extends to even expanding their wardrobe.

eve hit me with a little comment of dante being like 'with what money?? should we really spend it on something like this??' (s/o to my friend for having my exact vision of dante downpat btw. listens to me too much) but it's incredibly accurate! dante would say this and usually hope it's enough to drop it. it's not entirely as a means to shut down a sinners good will or desire for them to feel more comfortable.

they feel rather complicated on the matter. they don't think it's necessary, they feel more important things than stuff for their own self care should be of the importance than say something like an outfit that'll likely see usage during the rare moments of off times.

however, me being me, i'm always a sucker for the concept of a sinner gently bonking dante on the head and letting them know that self care is an important mindset thing for them to stay healthy but gestures. that's so hard to do as a limbus company sinner, am i right [looks at the entirety of the cast]

dante minimizes these things hard and writes them off as being of less importance when they know deep down they probably should put a little more care and effort to normalizing spending to just get casual clothes. there are work arounds for their head but they're too stuck in habits they've not broken from since starting the job. dantes mindset is basically "i'm not here to relax or to worry about things of leisure. i'm here to work and help the company move towards its intended purposes… otherwise i'll never get what i was promised from this"

and now onto the second part. this is less headcanon intensive and more one of those "roleplays i would love to have" type deals

generally any sinner just taking dante out to go shopping ... bc well deserved and maybe hashtag reassurance that like yeah no we both deserve a little something.

most notably i'd cry if this interaction was with rodya because it feels the most likely to be her who'd call them out on this of all things but i genuinely won't turn away most sinners. they all have different approaches or thought processes on the matter that it could be uniquely different with whoever.

think about it. wouldn't it be a fun thread, a nice down time in-between their constant chaos.

perfect moments for funny little "Try this on" "actually worst decision ever this is so not for you" or .. .you know. silly stuff.

but also dante shopping with each individual sinner just means them being dressed in each of the individual sinners fashion which is a cute thought process
