Inspired by the Disney Princess villain song series by Lydia the Bard, here’s my idea for Princess Sofia’s own dark version of a Sofia the First song and the backstory and animatic script accompanying it. There are mentioned dead bodies and a little blood. I’ve really tried to keep her in-character, despite the very different circumstances and tone. She’s more of an anti-villain here.
I’d love to hear feedback on this and talk to other fans, of Sofia or Lydia.
I’ve written one for Princess Elena too!

I wanna know who the hell on the STF devs team decided to give the final villain the name Vor, and why the hell they made her so 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂 cuz like A, her name is a literal pron category, B, her army of crystal minions look like butt plugs 💀 and C, her power is literally make ppl high asf wit that green ass weed to do whatever she says. If that dont spell out 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂 then idk what else is 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂

So, something I forgot to say in this post about how Cedric trapped Wormwood in a cage he conjured near the end of the finale 'Forever Royal' (consider it a continuation of that post):
The episode ends with Vor defeated, Cedric saving Sofia from the amulet where Vor pulled her inside, Roland granting Cedric the honored title of 'Cedric the Great', Sofia officially granted the title of Protector of the EverRealm, and then everyone going inside the castle for the graduation party.
StF creator Craig Gerber said online that Wormwood would spend some time imprisoned in the Terrible Tower (where the Protectors lock up criminals) on the Mystic Isles, along with Prisma and the shape-shifter Twitch.
But I like to think that at the graduation party, before the Protectors took the prisoners away, Cedric approached Wormwood in his cage and coldly told him something like "I want you to know that I will forget you after this moment and never think of you again. But I have a feeling you will think about me every single day for the rest of your miserable life."

General Thoughts on Forever Royal
It was so good!  Everything I could have asked for, and even some things I didn’t know I needed, with a few things I didn’t think were ever going to happen at all thrown in just for good measure.
I don’t even know where to begin with this one, there was so much I want to talk about.  So to start things off, my favorite background prince, The Prince in Brown, finally got a name!
Tumblr media
Yes, he is Prince Mike.  (Also I just noticed Miss Nettle in the background.  I guess now that she’s a “good” fairy, she made her peace with Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather).
There were so many callbacks in this special!  The rubies from Cedric’s Apprentice, the reprise of Royal Prep from Once Upon a Princess, Sofia and Amber landing on the pirate ship treehouse from Baileywick’s Day Off, and plenty more.  Of course, the best one was the line “we’re sisters” coming back.  I also like how they managed to get in all the main recurring characters, even if someone of them just had very quick cameos (most of the RPA students).  And they even squeezed in one more new amulet power before the end.
We also got a lot of answers to questions fans have been wondering about for a long time, such as what happened to Sofia’s dad, and what Roland’s wish was (a little anticlimactic if you ask me), and we saw James and Amber’s mom!  I 100% did not see Sofia getting sucked into the amulet coming, but it gave some insight into what it was like for Elena for all those years.  And we got to see the first Storykeeper, although I don’t think anyone was curious about him, but again, it gave us some answers about the Secret Library and how it came to be.
I really liked Roland’s priority 1 being getting the kids safe and promising to fight Vor once they are, and Miranda being all “You are literal children” when Sofia, Amber, and James want to go back and fight.  Then at the end after Sofia becomes a fully-fledged protector, Miranda asking just what a protector does, with the inflection that she knows she isn’t going to like the answer.  And Tilly’s response of it being a huge honor while adding “and only occasionally life-threatening” under her breath.
There were also a lot of heartwarming moments involving the parents, like Miranda and Sofia going back to their old home at the beginning. And Roland mentioning holding Amber and James in his arms during the first song, then actually seeing that during the Secret Library’s flashback.
Speaking of, all the songs were amazing.  I loved the way the first song built and built, and included everyone in the palace.  The slow reprise of Royal Prep, as I already mentioned, was a sweet callback.  Vor’s song is ridiculously catchy and I love the animation on her during it.  So many good expressions!  Plus it gave us more of Wormwood singing.  For One and All, like the first song, built into something truly epic by the end, and Vor and Sofia’s confrontation song was so, so good, a truly fitting last song of the series.
I was kind of right and kind of wrong about Vor.  As I predicted, she was just using Prisma to get the Wicked Nine (which turned out to be about getting her ring), but she didn’t technically betray her.  She promised to make Prisma powerful, and she did, but by using her body.  I wonder, though, whether Vor was completely in control, or if she just kind of melded with Prisma.  Specifically, I’m wondering how much of Vor’s personality was from Vor, and how much was from Prisma.  Because Prisma has always had a flair for the dramatic, so it wouldn’t be outside of the realm of possibility for the spirit of Vor to just be the evil and vengeful parts, and the rest to be Prisma.  If that makes any sense.
Regardless of whether Prisma had any part of it, Vor was a great series-ending villain.  I really had no idea how they would defeat her for good (though I still don’t quite get how Sofia’s love light got rid of her, spirit and all, but I guess we can chalk that partly up to Maruvian magic, which tends to do things that don’t really make sense, but are very powerful).
Craig promised us that Cedric would be a big part of the finale, and we were not disappointed.  From making Sofia a tiara, spiffing up the decorations (you know he was just waiting for someone to say “magical” so he could do his thing), helping defend against the crystal army, being part of the charge to head back to fight Vor, and casting the final spell that saved Sofia, he was all over this special from beginning to end.  And he finally was recognized as Cedric the Great by none other than the king himself.  Giving Sofia back her amulet was the perfect cap to his character arc.
We got confirmation of what I’ve suspected, that Amber’s had to cover for Sofia going off on her protector mission, since she was the only one who knew about them and her amulet’s powers.  I’m glad that both of those were finally revealed to everyone (but especially the parents), even if there wasn’t time to see the full implications of everyone knowing.
Okay, but that climax.  Sofia getting sucked into the amulet, everyone thinking there’s a chance they’ll never get her back, and then all her friends and family rallying together, giving their energy to get her back.  So powerful, and it hammers home how many lives Sofia has touched over the course of the series.
I had a few quibbles with this episode, but by the time I finished writing all this out, I’ve forgotten them.  But I do really wish there had been a scene of Azurine and Prisma making up, especially since Prisma was so remorseful at the end.  But other than that, this was a practically perfect way to end the series.

Why do you think the Amulet of Avalor turned pink after Elena was released from it?
probably because that's the color it was before she went into it in the first place. the brief snippets of Elena's flashbacks that we see in Elena and the Secret of Avalor show us that the amulet was originally a pinkish-red:
Tumblr media
the better question would be "why did it turn purple when Elena went into it?" the amulet doesn't turn purple when Sofia and Vor are dragged into it in Forever Royal, but it does still change color. it's a mix of pink and green as the two are fighting, turns white when Sofia wins and frees Prisma, and then is pink again during the scene where Cedric and co. are trying to free Sofia again:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So activity inside the amulet seems to affect its color, which makes at least as much sense as the concept of a magical rock that can store entire people inside of it. Having it turn to purple, specifically, was likely just an aesthetic choice -- the StF pallet has a lot of purple in it and is Sofia's main color, so the artists probably just wanted it to match the princess initially, and then it became a convenient shorthand later to indicate that it was "occupied". And with red being one of the main colors in the EoA pallet, it makes sense that that would be the color it went back to once its origins were revealed.
For a more in-universe reason, it could be that its color is meant to be reflective of who's in there, as suggested by the pink/green when Sofia and Vor were fighting. I know purple isn't normally associated with Elena, but when she uses a tamborita in Not Without My Magic, it turns out that her base magic color is purple, so it could be connected to that.
(Her tamborita magic is orange in the Spring Cleaning short, but I'd argue the main series takes precedence over the shorts in determining canon if there's a discrepancy.)

i was thinking of a sofia the first/ my little pony au and abt how would it work... i dont know if youre into my little pony but if you are id love some ideas! like i dont think that shed become an alicorn immediately after becoming a princess (maybe in forever royal tho?) nor would miranda at all. but im having a blast thinking about some pony names for everybody and what race theyd be (ngl i think dunwiddie would be an earth pony villiage). but if youre not into mlp, id love some ideas from anyone else haha ^_^💖
oh, I used to be really into FiM! (Fluttershy was my fave hehe) I kinda fell out of love with it around season four tho I think? so I haven't watched it in a while. I feel like I can't come up with any good ideas since I've been out of the loop for so long.
But yes, I can totally see Dunwiddie as a earth pony village, it just makes sense somehow lol.
Everybody else, feel free to reply to this post with your MLP!STF headcanons/ideas :D I'd like to hear them too!

“I feel like I’m feeling apart.” Sofia and Elena post Forever Royal.
Writing this I realized I actually don't remember StF as well as I thought I do.
"Sofia? Everything's good?"
Sofia snapped back into reality, looking up from her book. She locked her confused gaze with Elena's amused one.
"Yes, of course, why do you ask?"
"Well," Elena sat down next to her on the sofa. "Because you've been reading 'Un compendio de seres mágicos y sus hábitats en el norte de Avalor, según Dr. Paráz' out loud, for the last hour, with the worst accent I've ever heard. And I doubt you really understood anything."
Sofia sighed in defeat and closed the book.
"Yeah, you're right," She joined Elena in a chuckle. "I suppose I should've actually learn Avaloran instead of relying on my- on the Amulet's translating magic."
Sofia groaned and rubbed her face with her hands.
"Sorry, I know it was better to put it away for the time being, I suppose I really did get too used to it. Although there are some things that were just, you know, fun." She added awkwardly.
Elena put a comforting hand on her shoulder.
"I understand. You know, when I lost my scepter for a second, Skylar had to sing me a whole song to remind me I don't need it." Sofia giggled so Elena continued. "Now, I think I have a better idea on how to spend an afternoon instead of reading some ponderous tomes, come on."
Elena jumped from the sofa and lead Sofia out of the library. They traversed the corridors to Elena's office, where the queen started to search through her desk's drawers, muttering something under her breath. Finally with a triumphant "Aha!" she pulled out a small flacon wrapped in a red bow.
"Mateo gave it to me on my last birthday, for if I ever needed to catch a break." Elena explained walking back towards Sofia.
"Now I know this was supposed to be a vacation for you from your magic," A smirk crept onto her face. "But no one said anything about Avaloran alchemy."
Sofia's eyes glistened with excitement.
"Oooh what does it do?"
"I'll just show you." Elena uncorked the bottle and added quickly. "It might tingle a little."
Elena poured out a little of the orange liquid on Sofia, who closed her eyes, expecting to feel the cold potion on her skin. But as soon as it touched her hair, she felt a shiver go down from the top of her head to her toes. She felt a slight tingling in her back and when she instinctively turned around, she noticed a luminous outline of wings and a feathered tail.
"Whoah, what is..." The tingling spread on the rest of her body and what could only be described as a poof and a golden flash, her whole body transformed.
She instinctively fell onto all fours and spun around to see what happened to her. She had lustrous lilac fur dotted with little four petaled flowers, in a lighter colour than the rest, long tail finished by a tuft of light pink feathers, and wide wings spinging from the middle of her back. Sofia gasped in delight.
"Am I a-"
"Jaquin!" Finished Elena. Or rather a red jaquin she assumed must be her.
"Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, ohmygosh!!!" Sofia squeeled spinning around to admire her new form.
"Yeah that was my first reaction too," Elena chuckled and lead Sofia out on the balcony.
"Oh I mean, I've shapeshifted before," Sofia answered casually. "It's just that with the Amulet I felt more like... Like I was falling apart into tiny pieces and then these pieces would rebuild me into something different..."
Her excited smile fell for a second, replaced by a longing frown, but quickly built up again.
"Anyway, what do you have planned?" Sofia quickly changed the topic.
"Well first you have to learn how to fly, and the- wait!" Elena yelled, diving after Sofia who jump straight from the balcony.
But before she caught her, the young princess shot up into the air, spinning and loopty looping far above her. Finally she glided back to Elena and hovered in front of her.
"I'd turned into a pegasus before." She explained, with the most endearing smile on her jaquin muzzle.
Elena breathed heavily, pressing her paws to her heart and shooting Sofia a horrified glare, which only resulted in making her laugh. Elena shook her head and flied ahead, leaving the still giggling princess to catch up with her.
"Anyway, you were saying?" She asked having calmed down a little.
"Well, you've already seen almost all of Avalor," A true cat-like grin stretched on Elena's muzzle. "But have you ever wondered where the jaquins are from?"
Ayyy the girls go explore Vallaestrella! Anyway, I hope it's in character given that I don't remember StF all that well. Anyway, thank you for your request! I think I should do a rewatch some day, these characters have a really big potential.
