Trying to explain the difference between Unasked for Critique, Valid Critique, and Explaining to Non-artists What They’re Getting Hung Up On in an Image because these are not the same at all.

One is rude and annoying, the second really is actually 9 times out of 10 a mutual workshop dialogue between an artist going “I need your fresh eyes to see what I’ve lost track of after staring at this way too long” and a peer or friend who they trust to be honest with them and help them figure out what they’re not seeing and the third is more broad strokes “you may not have the specific terms but you are legitimately recognizing something, this is what it is, and here’s the term for it”
