DO:
Ask “are you okay?”
Ask “are you going to be okay?”
Say “hey, just wanted to let you know I’m always here for you”
DON’T:
Point to the marks
Say “OH MY GOD” or “HOLY SHIT” or anything of the sorts
Make a huge deal
Yank up their sleeve / pant leg / reveal the marks more than they already are
Pull them closer to get a closer look
Make them feel bad about it
Act like they hurt you / let you down
Make them “promise to never do it again” (Because that’s just unrealistic)
