Let's get a few things out of the way.
If you think being religious is a problem, fuck you.
If you ARE(n't) religious and you shove your views on others, fuck you.
If you think someone should/will be "punished" for being different, fuck you, and stop pretending to be religious.
Now. I'm not religious, but I do believe there's a God.
I don't believe in Hell, at least, not the fiery lakes version.
I believe everyone goes to heaven, unless they claim to not want to be around him. And murderers, I guess.
If there is a hell, I believe it's just like heaven, but without God (as it's the separation from him).
I'm tired of (the vocal) religious people saying that everyone should want to be with him, and you shouldn't want to avoid him.
But how I see it is... what's the point? Hypothetically, if there is a suffering version of hell, and I made it to heaven, why would I be happy with someone I love going to suffer for eternity?
Do I just forget they exist? Is the purpose of life to value God above all else? Then what's the point in existing?
A loving parent wouldn't abuse their child for all of eternity. Especially not after giving them free will AND knowing the outcome without intervening.
Like yeah, sure, everyone has consequences for their actions, but unless you've done something REALLY fucked up, no judge in their right mind is going to give you life in prison.
Being atheist isn't a punishment worth suffering an eternity for.
So it really makes more sense to throw away the concept of "hell" entirely. nobody will be punished, everyone will get salvation.
If I'm being completely honest, though... I do not want to get another shot at life when I die... so I hope there's really nothing in the end. It's almost as if we're already in hell, and it'd make a lot of sense.
And I'm sorry, but if Christianity is supposed to be the "objective" faith, it'd be SO helpful for God to fall from the skies, make things happen, and whatever else needs to be done just so people could start believing. Clear up some misconceptions and everyone'll be happy.
