Re-watched Becoming Elizabeth and realized Robert Dudley's marriage to Amy is basically how his marriage to Lettice Knollys played out. In that he married abruptly and in secret And idk why this is so hilarious to me especially because the way it's framed in Becoming Elizabeth he does it to spite Elizabeth. Like is this just going to be a serial thing with him???????

She raised her hand to stop him. "I am no more a marchioness than you are a hat pin," She said calmly but firmly. Unlike some of the old guard of nobility, she had no nostalgia for the old regime. She was too aware to not be aware that their existence was a kind of injustice. She and her husband had of course been naive once believing that injustice could be righted gently and without harm but they had been shown the error of their ways in as brutal a way as Jonah in the belly of God's whale.
At his answer, she relaxed. "Yes I know, he was a good friend. I suppose they fear a riot. Perhaps my husband at the head of an army of malcontents?"
The manipulations and maneuverings of governments, the constant games played by officials jockeying for a higher rung on the ladder, the replacing of one king for another, were all beyond Javert. So fa above him that he was all but unaware of their existence. At most it was a distant hum, its notes meant for a different audience. So long as there was a king. On that point he was emphatic.
Javert was less sure what to make of this woman but rather than examine the contradictions clearly and risk a dangerous unraveling of assumptions, he chose to look elsewhere. He allowed his gaze to be diverted to the drawing that had captured her attention. “Hum,” he offered as wordless acknowledgment, almost a lie as he was considering what brought him here instead.
She got there soon after, in his wake but clearly still sharp. “Promise, Madame la Marquise?” he echoed with an uncertain look before he rallied to plow on. “Do you know where he is at this moment? General Lamarque’s funeral.”
Why had he, Javert, been sent, indeed? It wasn’t terrible news (not yet) but his delivery of even the most spare of questions could still give that impression.

Would honestly love for Anne to have a lover. A slow-burn and largely emotional affair possibly with a class difference. Both of them knowing it has to be a secret/largely chaste because if anyone knew it would humiliate Henry and we all know what happens when that happens.

God send @threecardtrick well to keep
"I do not understand why would the King do this?" She asked nervously pacing about the room. Her unfashionably dark hair left unbound and exposed. She was understandably still agitated by the events that had just transpired. Strange men burst into her rooms, the largest of whom who also stank had tried to force a kiss on her.
