Today's speed paint is a frankly indecent Feanor: no jewels, no braids, just flowy hair in the wind… I'm almost ashamed of myself! Maybe I should tag it NSFW? XD
I hope you don't mind too much <;

Skills and personal style evolve - sometimes I'm still charmed by my old works, but other times I can definitely notice improvements. I actually have both reactions while watching this (terrible) video about the #Feanorions from 10 or so years ago, and the ones I painted in the past few weeks.
I don't know how to explain, but the new versions feel more... "real" to me (especially #Ambarussa , for some reason)
Anyway, this is a reminder to myself that I can get better - and I thought it would be fun to show the "before" and "now " <;
Curvo has been one of the first "new" concept portraits I painted during this #Silmarillion revival - I wasn't super happy with the result, so have what I think is an improved version <:
I hope you like it 💙
You can see the old version here <:

"...Only street lights
Notice me
I am desperate
If nothing else
In a holding pattern
To find myself
I talk in circles
I talk in circles
I watch for signals
For a clue
How to feel different
How to feel new
Like science fiction
Bending truth
No one can unring this bell
Unsound this alarm, unbreak my heart new
God knows, I am dissonance
Waiting to be swiftly pulled into tune..." -Sleeping At Last, "Mercury"
It took me a while to paint a Maglor I was satisfied with, but I'm pretty happy with the result <:
I hope you like it too! 💙
PS: I appreciate that my elves (especially the Noldor) are not very flashy - they have no circlets, or jewels, or shiny robes. This is because I'm trying to focus more on the basic features, and the lovely viewers can imagine all the extras they like <: Think of paper dolls, but 2D 🙈
