I just watched a clip from A&E where firefighters on duty got a call saying that a baby stuck up some cereal up his nose and one guy was like “been there 😄😁” lmao 😂😂😂😂 and the scene cuts to three guys standing next to the baby and discussing how to get it out😂😂 the “been there” guy has major mick energy and seemed to find the situation hilarious haha if it were Jack and Brock they would have been like 🗿🗿🗿🗿 and just done with their job lmao

brock rumlow in high school..... what was he like?

He was an average kid. Didn’t really cause trouble, but wouldn’t shy away from it if it fell in his path. A little on the scrawny side, but his wrestling coach appreciated that. Opponents underestimated him. Teachers? Not so much. They had him pegged for bright but not brilliant, and he was a mostly B’s student, more interested in sports than academia. But the potential was there, if he ever truly applied himself to the books.

Got along well enough with everyone. Wasn’t too popular with the girls until summer before his junior year when some weight finally started to stick to him. His confidence off the mat developed with his looks and he suddenly had his choice of a few young ladies for dances, parties with friends, and the occasional kegger in the woods. Never smoked though. Didn’t care for it the couple times he tried.

That’s also about the time he got into boxing and started to take a real interest in taking his fitness to the next level as an athlete. Too bad there wasn’t a boxing team at school, because he was a natural, training with guys almost twice his age (and sometimes size) Saturday mornings at the boxing club downtown. The physicality and discipline that came with the new hobby (borderline obsession) helped steer him towards the service. A sharp looking recruiter with the Navy gave him some pamphlets during a job fair one day, promising that a young man, fit and squared away like him, could have his pick of any job he wanted, even as a SEAL.

And then… Well, you know the rest.

i watched Batman today (Christian Bale) and I’d forgotten how much I love the movies! I love marvel, especially winter soldier but ugh the darkness and eeriness of Gotham city is 👏👏👏 weird how I can imagine our usual characters from the strike series working their ass off in Gotham as police officers, especially Eric who’s trying to copy how Batman flies lol And maybe have Brock and Jack worrying about Allison when she doesn’t come back from her shift but it’s ✨ absolutely ✨ not ✨ personal ✨

Oh my fucking god yes!!

Brock is the road sergeant. He has seniority over half the department but he doesn’t want to promote. He likes being on patrol.

Jack is a detective. He takes jabs from Brock about the suits and the occasional mustache, but Jack just reminds him of how much OT he makes in a year and the unmarked take home car he has. That shuts him up for a couple weeks.

Mick has several years on the department. Still an upbeat, and kinda goofy, family man despite how dirty the streets are. Every shift needs a funny guy to keep spirits up.

Allison and Mick graduated the academy together. While he likes the low level of responsibility on shift work, she’s already passed the corporal’s exam and acts as officer in charge when Brock takes a day off. i know some guys tend to get super anxious and borderline overbearing when their so is pregnant but how would Brock and Jack be like when ally has a baby?

Brock’s not anxious about it. The man’s an excellent tactician. He’s got a plan for every eventuality and has everything prepped on schedule or before- hospital bag packed a month ahead, backup driver on call in case he was deployed and couldn’t take Allison himself, all the furniture built and toys and supplies ready for the baby’s room. He’s there coaching her through morning sickness and taking care of the cooking and cleaning so she doesn’t have to. Allison has nothing to worry about. He’s got this.

Jack is a little more laid back about it. The baby’s room will be ready on time, but he’s not planning multiple contingencies for worst case scenarios. He’s already blocked time off around Allison’s due date to make sure he’s there. He’s always been protective of Allison, so he’s never far away or misses a call and he doesn’t bitch about going out to the store in the middle of the night or going to three different shops to find the very specific thing she’s craving. He’ll tease her for it, but never bitch.

So, in that universe, in the context of that ask/scenario, remember Jack would never have told Allison he was HYDRA. Much the same way Brock didn’t offer that info either. But his line of thinking in that ask is dependent on the circumstances that are framed in that “what if…?”

From the ask:

“If he were at her mercy, would that be the moment for him? He wouldn’t beg for his life, but he would beg for her- to join him (bc they want the same thing- peace, and if she just gave him the chance to explain it all, she would see it didn’t matter who he worked for).”

In that moment of fear, to literally have his life in her hands as she’s calling him a traitor, that is the line of thinking he would have. It’s an act of desperation. He wants to keep her, doesn’t want her to leave him or be disgusted by him, or any other bad way it could go. The reasons he is Hydra don’t matter because doesn’t she want what they promised him? Peace, order. How could she not agree?

He didn’t care who it was for when he signed up because it’s all the same bullshit that everyone in power promises by saying they know better than “the enemy”. HYDRA just pays better and recognizes talent. He wasn’t just another cog in the machine, like he was to the Army. To HYDRA, he’s a valuable asset, necessary and worth the investment. All the things he and Allison both did as SHIELD equated to good HYDRA was doing. It’s all shades of grey and being a part of it never bothered him any more than the Army’s agenda did. And Allison is smart and has seen the real world, like him. How could she not understand?

It bets everything on the hope that she loves him as much as he loves her. It’s just what he does for a living and that’s not what she loves him for, right?

you said before that from Jack’s perspective, if Allison “just gave him the chance to explain it all, she would see it didn’t matter who he worked for.” My first thought was: “dude do you really think so?” I thought jack’s attraction partly comes from the fact that she’s *good* unlike others, so why can he think this way????

“No,” Allison swept her head, relieved, as she slid back off the counter. “Thank god,” she mumbled, knowing if they had been overheard all hell might break loose.

“All I’m saying is, maybe she’s a little small to make the trip worth it,” he suggested.

“She wants to go,” she reminded him.

“Is she gonna remember it?” Jack pressed. “She’s four. A year from now she might not give a shit about a mouse.”

“Maybe. But she does now,” Allison noted, tipping her thumb toward the other room where their daughter had just happily shrieked, “Shark bait! Oo ha ha!”

Jack wiped a hand down his face, turning his eyes up to the ceiling. “Jesus Christ,” he muttered. “Fine,” he waved up a hand in defeat. “I guess we’re going to fuckin’-“

“Don’t say it,” Allison warned, with a finger pointed at him for emphasis.

“Fine!” he threw up both hands. “Fuckin’ Delta Whiskey. You happy?”

“Yes, I am,” she smiled proudly.

“But I’m not wearing one of those fuckin’ hats,” he swore, as he grabbed his coffee to take back to the living room.
