Having her enter my life at my most impressionable and the most necessary time for me…I can’t even put into words how fated it feels looking back. “You wouldn’t last an hour in the asylum where they raised me” thinking about how comparing growing up in the spotlight to an asylum. It’s hard enough to deal with being a teenage girl transitioning into adulthood without the whole world scrutinizing every single thing you do. At least all of us got to screw up and have emotions without the world watching.

#right like this also #can I relate to being an international lightning rod for slut shaming in my formative years? decidedly no. #can I relate to spending my formative years in mental hospitalization? yes. I have done that. #it’s a moment of acknowledging that Taylor’s very public coming of age was really. traumatic for her #in the way being ‘raised in an asylum’ was for me in a sense.

It must have been so disorienting to have experienced everything she wrote about on TTPD and then to be nominated as Person of the Year. The lowest of the low in her personal life, the highest of highs professionally. If anything it just goes to show how good she was at hiding exactly how bad things got, even though it was obvious at times (at least to us) that she was struggling.

no literally like we thought she was riding high despite the personal turmoil and in some ways she was but god almighty i think she might see 2023 as the worst year of her life (even if it had a really, really sweet ending)

I am not going to put up with seeing endless tons of hate about my favorite artist Who I Have Formative Memories Of Being Bullied For Enjoying anymore during release week/weekend. I have had enough with it. It pisses me off when what I want to be doing is enjoying new goddamn Taylor music. I’ve hit my limit.

Without a doubt the worst part of Taylor being at this level of popularity/fame again is all the people who want to be different and edgy and are claiming she's just an objectively evil man-hating eco-terrorist attention whore all while proudly proclaiming they also know nothing about her bc they don't like her

I feel so much rage when people insist that Taylor isn’t allowed to use any words pertaining to mental illness because she couldn’t possibly understand and must be exaggerating. Imagine hearing someone bare their soul the way Taylor has on this album and acting like she’s throwing around words she doesn’t understand. This has been going on since she uttered the word depression in her music and I am so beyond tired.
