Luther would have had to do a lot of physical labor from a very young age. Especially if his family was poor.
Diego would have been a competitive swimmer or archer.
Allison would have been used by her parents to get them whatever they want.
Klaus would have been forced to talk to dead relatives and close friends of his family.
Five would have had to go back in time to fix all of his families mistakes.
Ben would have been killed.
Vanya would have either been a world famous musician OR she would have ended the world a hell of a lot sooner.
I saw someone on TikTok say that the umbrella academy was in better hands with Reginald than they would’ve been with their biological parents(especially vanya) and now I can’t stop thinking about it

Do you think vanya should be held accountable for her actions? Because yes the apocalypse happening was all of their faults but five was blamed and apologized but vanya didn’t but the reason why five time traveled was because of the apocalypse anyway? Am I making sense? Lol
Yeeeeah. That’s sorta a complicated one lol
I mean, on one hand, she sorta did apologize.

I think the reason Vanya didn’t really get blamed all that much nor did she apologize all that much was because well, she didn’t remember for most S2. But, especially in her interactions with Ben at the end, we can see she did hold a lot of remorse and guilt for what she did. Yes, Vanya did make mistakes like the rest of them, but I think it was important that she found forgiveness and understanding with her siblings. After all, being an outcast and being treated badly was a part of what drove her to the state where she ultimately lost control. I think it was important that the siblings did sort of learn that lesson.
However, that being said, I do personally dislike the way they handled Vanya in S2. I think the amnesia plot was a disservice to her arc, the arc of the previous season, and the overall emotional arc in general. Vanya was an absolute mess at the end of S1 but they effectively swept all that under the rug for a while in favor of the lighter more comedic tone. They threw a “new timeline new me” line in and didn’t hardly deal with any of the emotional fallout of S1. They did eventually try to bring it back around but it didn’t happen until the final act and it felt incredibly rushed and half done.
Basically, I think they needed to allow more room to deal with the aftermath of what happened in the apocalypse. Vanya needed to properly heal. Everyone needed to apologize and everyone needed to make amends. Everyone needed to acknowledge their mistakes.
But sadly we didn’t get that, which could partly be why some of the blame was shifted to Five? Because they couldn’t blame Vanya.
[The other thing is, I don’t agree with the way they all blamed Five, but it’s also possible that he was blamed more because Five and Vanya have very different roles. No one is looking to Vanya for answers, especially not amnesic Vanya. She’s not actively pushing to stop the apocalypse. But Five is, he takes on the huge responsibility of being the driving force, and as a result gets blamed when things go wrong.}
This is turning into a very convoluted answer, but basically I think what they all really need is to stop playing the blame game. It’s not going to help anyone at this point, so really they all need to chill and work together.
As for Vanya, I don’t think she needs to be ‘held accountable’ so much as she needs to hold herself accountable. She needs to come to terms with her powers and what she’s capable of. To deal with the fact that she can and has caused immense destruction and death. And not necessarily in a self-destructive/self-hating sort of way, but in a responsibility sort of way, in a way that yields growth. That allows her to acknowledge her mistakes as well as her trauma. She needs to learn to truly control and understand her powers and understand herself. That’s when she will stop being the ‘bomb’ and reach her true potential.
I think what we needed for Vanya in S2 was a lot of self-discovery and reflection, but we didn’t really get that because she spent most of the season not even remembering who she was.

Motherfuckers who say Klaus, a confirmed pansexual is gay just make me mad.
I don't necessarily have a problem with people having their hc as Vanya being a lesbian. I do think it's a little weird that it's like she's gay unless confirmed bi though.
can we talk about the bisexual erasure in the fandom of umbrella academy??
because it's pride month and we're all pulling out our symbols and icons and characters we see ourselves represented in
but I've grown tired of seeing posts referring to vanya and klaus as two raging homosexuals.
the two of them have expressed interest for men and women, neither of them have restricted themselves to the attraction towards only one gender.
while the love of klaus' life is a man, he has engaged in sexual relationships with women as well (for example, the girl from his cult he had a threesome with). as for vanya, the fact that her most recent romantic interest was a woman does not make her a lesbian, and that was a narrative that was running around even before season 2 was aired and said character came into the story.
now, of course I talk from only having seen the show, I don't know if there's something in the comics that makes everyone so sure that both klaus and vanya are gay
but it wouldn't be the first time that a character's sexuality is blatantly denied to present him as gay pride.

Umbrella Academy au where the siblings arent abused, its just a really long, really complicated DnD campain that Five spent actual years developing and thinking out, only for his dipshit siblings to enter and RUIN it all.

Five: That’s not in the-
Klaus: Roll seduction on the first soldier I meet
