navani painting the giant ass justice glyph in the middle of sadeas's warcamp is such a good fucking scene. it tells you so much about her. but it also has me thinkin about her and shallan, because (i have chronic shallan brainrot) this is something they have in common.

they both are very spiritual women who enjoy their faith and take comfort in prayer. they could've taken comfort in each other through their shared faith and how they like to practice it in book two. even without jasnah's loss, they could've still found themselves bonding over this similarity.

unfortunately, i think navani's snubbing shallan for like 1,000 pages did permanent damage to their relationship. shallan likes navani, and wants to impress her, have some kind of closeness. but there will always be a part of her that remembers that when she was desperate for help and begging for it, navani not only ignored her, but wasn't exactly quite in her disapproval of shallan's betrothal to adolin. because yes, navani hanging out with women adolin had previously courted while having fuck all to do with his betrothed is a very public disapproval. intended or not.
