I cannot emphasize enough. The marketing for Lost You Forever IS all “this is a reverse harem!! It’s about her and these four guys who want to marry her!!” But like then they immediately establish that the #1 male lead (traditionally this role is for the primary love interest) is her childhood friend/cousin/brother-figure (and definitely platonic on her part) and the fourth dude in the marketing literally doesn’t show up until like episode 17 so that all seems like lies. so you sit back and settle into the story of who Xiaoyao will choose between the Wonderful In Every Way Except His Wife guy or the Violent And Insane But Also Good Looking And Fun guy (which, this is a cdrama. I think we all know.) in between her platonic political shenanigans w the male lead and then BAM!!! Cang Xuan realizes he’s in love with her and it turns out that the male lead WAS a love interest all along it’s just that she doesn’t know it yet and then Xiaoyao is agreeing to marrying the dark horse contender fourth male lead and WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEEEEAAAANNNN but literally yeah the marketing somehow wasn’t joking the brother guy is literally obsessed w her and their relationship is the hinge of the whole story. Can’t make this up.
