We want characters to either be loved or hated. One of the best examples of that is Solas. Half the community wants to kill him, half the people want to marry him, and another part want to do both.

In case anyone has forgotten again:
The Hellenic deities are parts of an actual religion. It was practiced thousands of years ago, it was practiced for thousands of years, and it is practiced today, thousands of years later. People who were not witches worshipped these gods. People who are not witches still worship these gods. It's not a magical toolbox. It's not a spell ingredient. It's a religion with a long history that very much still exists today.
You want to work with these gods as a part of your witchcraft practice? That's totally fine. But that is YOU and YOUR practice. Working with these gods has never required magic. Nobody interested in working with these gods is required to do the whole spiel that YOU choose do as a witch, as a part of YOUR practice.
Witchcraft is not an aspect of any religion, and no religion is an aspect of any type of witchcraft. There are many concepts commonly found in witchcraft today that have never existed in many religions. You want to apply witchcraft concepts to working with deities? That's your choice. But other people don't have to do what you do, and they shouldn't be made to feel otherwise.

I am again thinking about how andraste’s mother was a ciriane warrior and the ciriane fought in the battle of the silent plains to defeat dumat and how andraste was born later that same year in -203 and how she wouldn’t talk for long periods of time and would see things and how when she was burned at the stake “there was only silence where they expected screams” and dumat was the old god of silence
