that one homoerotic girl friendship that ended horribly is always like, i hate her more than anyone, i will never stop loving her. she made me who i am, i hate the parts of me she helped create. i miss her more than anything, i can't even look her in the eye. i dream about her most nights, i'll cut off my arm before i even consider reaching out to her again. i want us back, i never want to feel that way again.

did i mention that my favorite pastime is screenshotting takes i think are stupid. no, love, this has nothing to do with white supremacy, and the point of the patriarchy is definitely not to make upper middle class white women’s lives work for them

I redesigned the cover of Lolita! (sound on for more context)
Did you know that Vladimir Nabokov didn't want any girls on the cover of Lolita? He wrote to his editors “I want pure colors, melting clouds, accurately drawn details, a sunburst above a receding road with the light reflected in furrows and ruts, after rain. And no girls.” There is one subject which I am emphatically opposed to: any kind of representation of a little girl.” Yet many covers of Lolita picture illustrations of little girls, often sexualized, suggestive images of body parts or of adult women posing as seductresses. These covers have been part of shaping the collective psyche around Lolita. The online Merriam Webster dictionary defines Lolita as "a precociously seductive girl." My main goals in redesigning the cover of this edition of Lolita was to get rid of the representation of Dolores Haze as a seductress and to keep the focus on Humbert Humbert. As Nabokov himself says in 1975 on a French televised interview "Outside of Mr Humbert's maniacal gaze, there is no nymphet."

i've become much less argumentative since polls revealed the average tumblr user is a shut-in in their mid 20s who never fucks or does anything with their life.

You are allowed to exist alone in public btw. You're allowed to go to the movies alone and go out to eat alone and hang out in a park alone and go for a walk alone and whatever else. It isn't weird or creepy, it doesn't make you lonely or a loser or whatever. You are allowed to just exist as yourself.

unfortunately a lot of the corny self help advice turns out to be true but the thing is you have to come to those conclusions yourself otherwise it just sounds dismissive and dumb

sometimes it’s better refrain from deep introspection and allow yourself to just be.
