homestuck is actually a pretty interesting (and really good) piece of media with a lot of queer themes and characters. it's just that the text itself does not explicitly make clear all the specific sexual and gender identities of the characters, it doesn't give us scenes where characters like vriska look at the camera and say "i am a trans woman", and this allows people both within and without the fandom to be some of the absolute most obtuse morons on the planet

when i was a kid my parents bought me an inflatable doll of the Scream by Edvard Munch (??) that was significantly taller than i was at the time and i used to slow-dance with it and pretend it was my boyfriend.
