21st April 1918
Tumblr media
105 years ago was a dark day. Germanys most famous and successful fighter pilot Manfred von Richthofen didn't return from a mission. After some speculation it was finally confirmed that he had died a hero's death. Respected by his enemies, he was buried with full military honour.
He was an inspiration to many during his lifetime and long after even to this day. Many lessons can be learned by following his example. The symbol of a Prussian officer. He stood by his principles and did his duty even in times of decline. He remained faithful to the end.
RIP Manfred von Richthofen (1892 - 1918).

The Red Baron's cameo in Ottoway Volume 2. I might repost this on his birth and death days. Landscapes are my weakness, and bird's eye shots too. Thank George Barbier for the Autumn colour scheme.
Major Isenstein's red 1915 Chevrolet is on the road below.
@tristandelarkadien for landscape art exchange!

Anniversary of the fall of Königsberg. >Re image 2: POV, you just woke up. The anniversary was actually April 9th, but Tuesdays are so chaotic for me I didn't get around to posting. Now would be a good time for you to go and research the history of the city and it's destruction. The subject of Königsberg should not be used to stoke division, it is the tragic, shared legacy of many European peoples, may we hold hands and morn losses on all sides.
Description of Image 1: Three Prussian Officer Cadets and a junior Lieutenant gather outside of Königsberg Castle, wearing walking out dress, in April 1908. Characters are from my pre-wwi Prussian Officer Cadet drama, Moth. Their names from left to right: Vincent Odinkirk, Leon von Zelewski, Siegfried Isenstein, Gottlieb Witt. Description of Image 2: The same view of the castle, but in April 1945. Three crosses represent the deaths of the comrades in the first image. A Soviet has crawled out from a burning tank and is screaming to be put out of his misery. The Script of Moth, to which these Illustrations relate, does not continue beyond the 1920's. And so, this is likely to be my first and last piece of wwii art. The two images are 37 years and 2 world wars apart, but the castle and the surviving German officer, are meant to lend permanence to the composition. This is the destruction of his home.

Artists depicting real-life allied war criminals get artificially promoted by the algorithm, while Anti-War artists who humanise both sides, have to work a lot harder to be published or recognised. The rulers of the English speaking people today are warmongers who spread the unatural evil of war all over the world, so it's no surprise. Go and look up how many countries Britain and Imperial America have invaded since you were born. You never lived in the time of Pax.

This is the story of the lost book of prophecies. Many people craved this book, wishing to glimpse their futures.
But no person, after obtaining this amazing book, has ever found happiness. It held secrets not meant for people’s eyes.

In order to celebrate the 17th anniversary of Super Paper Mario this month as well as the rerelease of its prequel, The Thousand Year Door, next month, I have decided to dedicate this April Fools by putting the Polsterreich characters in the SPM universe! This was a very fun crossover to do, the most fun I've had since starting this blog.
The gameplay preview is below the cut!

This was inspired by a vintage Paper Mario 64 ad from Nintendo Power in the year 2000.
There was only so much I could draw in the two days but if you'd like to see how the story ends (and who ends up being Mr L) let me know!

Siegfried Isenstein Post War.
He's not a genocidal pervert, we promise, he's actually a really nice guy.
The second version is with an armored car in the background.
This is a wwi uniform, with a black leather trench coat. You might notice it is not his signature, tailored uniform, but an ordinary private's issue, and he has put away his rank badges. This is also the first time I've given him black gloves instead of white. He picks up the Sam Browne belt from a British officer in Ottoway vol 3.
