The faint chattering of the captain’s teeth made it to Felix and Parvati’s ears as they followed closely behind her.
Her shaking and shivering was visible as her body focused all of her energy on retaining heat and getting back to The Unreliable. The freezing water that dripped from her head and soaked clothes was a reminder of how quickly she needed to get back to the ship. The temperature of the Monarch wilderness was dropping with each passing minute, and the frosty winter air wasn’t helping the captain’s predicament.
The captain and her selected crew had been in Fallbrook when she found herself in a heated scuffle with one of the SubLight patrons who was stationed there. The argument turned physical in a hurry, Felix and Parvati not hesitating to back up their captain.
