So here's my thoughts on the matter:
Why not remake the movie? If the live action parts are that big a problem, replace them with something that isn't. I'm not gonna pretend I fully understand the implications, but at the same time I know the Brer characters have been in a lot of Disney's history beyond Song of the South and think at least they have a right to keep existing.
