Heyyy! Any ideas for a gift for my older brother? He’s 23, working in the aerospace industry (likes planes), enjoys cooking, football and tennis
Thank you! 💝
hi !! here's a few suggestions he might like
a fancy spice set / version 2
engineering word magnets (these are so fun!!)
these blueprints would look so nice as framed art
++ you can usually find kitchen gadgets with sports logos on them - check his favorite team's official shop!

gift ideas 🎁
gift shopping is my absolute favorite part of the holidays, but since i started my shopping super early this year i’m already done.
SO to help resist the urge to spend even more money on toys for my niece, i’d love to help you find the perfect gift for someone in your life!!
if you need some ideas, send me:
- the person you’re shopping for - a lil bit about them (age, a few of their interests, etc) - anything else you want me to know!!
+ i’ll reply with a couple gift ideas i think they’d love :))
((reblogs appreciated but not required))

Hey! I'm a high school sophomore who's doing all in person learning after choosing to do online school through a program my school offered when I was a freshman. This year, I've been doing good academically, but I've been having trouble making friends. I have really bad anxiety and I'm afraid that if I just go up to people I'll actually be butting into their friend group or making them uncomfortable without realizing it. Any tips?
Hey!! I definitely have a lot of trouble initiating social interactions. But i try to think about how i feel when people approach me - usually honored that they want to talk to me!
something i recently realized about all my friends in high school? it was all about proximity. we got along, obviously, but the main thing holding us together was that we saw each other so often because of school/clubs/etc.
so how do you make friends in high school? put yourself in proximity with people you have things in common with.
try putting together a study group for a big exam, or asking a classmate to tag along when you visit a museum for extra credit. join a club or start a group chat with the people in your lab group.
that usually feels "safer" since you have built-in conversation starters and a reason to keep in touch (like when your teacher does something annoying and you wanna vent about it to someone who understands).
good luck :)

bonfire 🔥
bonfires: tell us your favorite story
ooh this is tough!! i'll go with one i just read to my niece a couple nights ago... it's about four lil puppies (i'm pretty sure that's the name) who get scared and sad about the seasons changing because they don't want the warm weather to leave, and then they don't want the fall leaves to blow away, and then they don't want the snow to melt, etc etc
anyway it was a cute silly little story but also made me emotional bc that's totally how life is, ya know? good job, little golden books.

Do you ever think about how many of the items now considered priceless artifacts were once commonplace items? The coins we now marvel at from behind the glass at a museum were once tossed around, stepped on, and traded around. The pottery painstakingly pieced back together was somebody’s favorite wine jug. The decorative pin now rusted and bent once held together the shoulder of someone’s chiton. History is simply a trail of ordinary people going about their day, and I think there’s an odd sort of beauty in that.

hi friends!! some quick life updates bc i haven’t been around a lot recently!!
- i started a new job!! a real, full-time, not-internship-or-fellowship job. i’m really loving it so far. going into the office a few days a week makes me feel a lot more human and energized, since i’ve been cooped up for a year+
- i spent the past two weeks traveling with my dearest friends and it was so so so good !!! exhausting but in the best way
- *fingers crossed, knock on wood* my graduation ceremony is finally happening in a few weeks!! it feels so odd since i’ve been out of school for so long, but i’m thrilled to be back on campus with everyone to celebrate
- related note !! my previously-cancelled solo grad trip is back on!! i’ve never traveled by myself for leisure, so this is gonna be a biiiiig week for getting out of my comfort zone but also relaxing and enjoying some time off !!
hope you’re all doing well too!! autumn is just the best season and i’m so excited to have things to look forward to again !!
