The Eclipse and Emerging of The New Year
With so much excitement and precaution about this eclipse, I decided to do myself a favor and give my children a “mom-approved” half day of school. I picked them up from school around noon and we spent the early afternoon outdoors with them buzzing around like bees, waiting in anticipation for this grand event! They decided to hang out on the deck for the afternoon gazing at the sky.

During the eclipse, I took to my regular meditative state indoors. I made some coffee and enjoyed a window in the bedroom that afforded a perfect view of the garden as the skies changed from its clear blue, bright yellows, to an ominous grey. It was interesting to observe and feel. The eclipse took place in the constellation of Revati, which holds a lot of personal significance for me.
2024 has been quite the year thus far. My time has been dedicated to rest and Spirit keeping, rejuvenating myself through gardening and caring for my children, as well as  helping my mother with household responsibilities. It has also been so delightful to watch my mother return to some of her favorite hobbies — reading books and writing poetry. The year even brought about an interesting transition back into homeschooling one of my children, my 11th grade daughter.
Keeping abreast of planetary transits while simultaneously observing its outer and inner world affects has brought its own kind of interest. I can feel a peculiar kind of security solidifying itself while still within the grasps of insecurity and dismantling. I have made it a point to incorporate this observation into regular discussion with my children, so that they too might be able to see how the movement of the planets affect their lives. There is a constant reminder of self awareness within all of this, which is always my point.
To hold within yourself the understanding that there can be such perfection within the state of chaos is a necessary medicine for this time. Where there is uncertainty and destabilization — just beyond view, lay new horizons. The sting of death brings its own kind of grief, a grief we can all identify with — but it also extends its radiant blessing.
This is the dance of life.

This is humpday folks! I'm 48 hours post a tooth extraction, and sipping on herbal bitters to ensure my immune system is up and running, and of course to aid in the healing process.
I made a couple of 32-ounce jar infusions with combinations of elderberries, cloves, and pau d'arco — 2 tablespoons of each. I ground my cloves down a bit.
Here's to healing!

Being

“All the Buddhas of all the ages have been telling you a very simple fact:  Be—don’t try to become.
Within these two words, be and becoming, your whole life is contained. Being is enlightenment, becoming is ignorance.”  —Osho
