what are the odds of more little Muppet monsters being found? watched all 3 (plus the 3 half episodes) we have with my girlfriend last night and adored it
(I restored what we could find of Little Muppet Monsters a few years back, including three unaired "half episodes" recovered from the collection of the late writer, Steve Morgenstern. One scene of Kermit typing from the unaired "Gunko" has become a meme.)
I really hope that more can be found, but it would take a search through archives. Perhaps other crew saved unaired material on VHS, as Steve did.
The puppet segments were shot for the whole season, involving the original Muppet Show cast playing their familiar characters. Miss Piggy, for example, is evident in a title sequence and a preview clip from another unaired episode. Fozzie, Kermit, Gonzo, Janice, Floyd, Animal, and Dr. Teeth appear.
I am hoping this material still survives. Presumably the scripts were written for the animated segments, and there were storyboards and probably voice recordings. Marvel was behind schedule, so they decided to scrap the show and focus on Muppet Babies.
Jim Henson had seen the success of Muppet Babies, and wanted to be involved in this show more directly. I'm sure he hoped that the result would be significantly better than Muppet Babies, but it's a real hodgepodge and the quality level is about the same or worse.
It's an interesting experiment and it deserves some sort of release with more unaired episodes, if they still survive. But Disney has not shown a lot of interest in this sort of thing.
