Andresa Santos
“She was a woman full of dreams. She told her family that she wanted to go to Aesthetics College, because she liked the idea of being able to change bodies. She also wanted to start the process of gender reassignment, and even went on to do some medical consultations. But her biggest dream was not to die early, as [trans women in Brazil] have a life expectancy of only 35 years because of the violence to which they are exposed. They ended my sister's story. They destroyed her dreams," reports the victim's sister, Evalcilene Santos.
