I just finished reading Gourmet Hound and

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

I mean, I had expected to read something cute and heartfelt, but I did not expect the rate at which I would read the whole thing!

I started reading it one day ago! Yeah, I read webcomics pretty fast, but I was consumed.

Grief, loss, love, and family! An adorable protagonist! An incredible slowburn! Lighthearted yet bittersweet! 171 episodes (including extras, the epilogue, and the afterword)!

I’m betting it’s a story someone needs, or had needed at some point.

Comics I’ve ruthlessly binged since regaining WEBTOON:

Survival Diary of a Villainess— An actress wakes up in the body of the character she plays in a web drama. Unfortunately, her character also gets killed off quickly so she tries her best to avoid that end. Her only problem is that she doesn’t know what else happens in the script!

True Beauty— A girl learns how to do makeup and ends up in a love triangle that spans years. The story is incredibly Korean. So like. There’s a LOT of emotions to be had (be still, my multishipper heart).

Phantom Paradise— A boy sacrifices his soul to save another’s. There are a lot of content warnings, as this story takes place in hell for the most part. It also has historical elements in it??? Which wasn’t bad but it did make me feel like I should be an anarchist because of how much governmental corruption takes place in the story????

Clinic of Horrors— Uh. So there’s this girl who’s a nurse in a city hellscape where mutations and the worst of humanity come to light. It’s labeled comedy, but it’s incredibly dark and more of a horror story.

Comics I need to reread still:

SubZero (an arranged marriage fantasy romance with dragons)

unOrdinary (superpowered teenagers and a secret that I kind of remember but don’t really understand the deal with)

Three Wishes (fantasy romance with a genie and a demon)

Let’s Play (game dev gets flamed by streamer, love story ensues when they realize they’re neighbors)

Fisheye Placebo (even looking at the summary really doesn’t help me here ;-;)

Always Human (sci-fi romance with a really calm vibe)

Honestly, I’d say I could recommend stuff to people but the weirdly specific stuff I end up being into is probably a really small basis to choose from.

And, of course, this list does not compare to the amount of Villainess comics I’ve been reading lately from other sources.

-Days Later-

Me: *attempts to archive the shitton of villainess isekai comics I’ve found*

Brain: hey. guess what.

Me: Shut the fuck up before I fucking—

Brain: more comics on WEBTOON!! *smacks me*

Me: *changes my long-forgotten password at midnight* *remembers the long list of shit I haven’t read for two years* Oh no...

Brain: i think you mean FUCK YES!! *punches me in the gut*

Me: GOD!!! FUCKING!!!! DAMMIT!!!!!

*reads all of the available episodes of a Korean romance comic in two days*

*reads all the available episodes of a dark action comic in 3 days and joins the discord that didn’t get nerfed by trolls*

*physically cannot go to sleep before 2am*

*turns off alarm and sleeps for an additional hour and 15*

*can’t bring myself to do certain work even though I know I’m letting people down*

*cries during accounting class*
