someone I follow on the bird app just announced they're starting a very exclusive private fic server because they and a bunch of other people want to talk about how much they love the fics they're reading, and as an author can I just say that a really great place to talk about a fic you love is in the comments for that fic

I understand that people are trying to create safe spaces, but as the number of comments that I get on my fics dwindles with each passing year, knowing these spaces exist where my fics are being discussed, places that I am excluded from, makes me want to write fic LESS

I mean I guess who cares, right, because if I stop writing, there's 10,000 other people that will continue...but if you participate in a fic "book club" server and you say nice things there about a fic you loved, maybe copy and paste that into a comment on AO3?

the only thing fanfic writers are asking for in return for hours of hard work is attention. please don't rob us of the one thing that we hope for when we hit "post"

uh oh i wrote a long journal entry and i think i uncovered that im currently depressed. things are Not Well up here. its not even that late at night i cant blame it on the time

#i think ive been cycling through stuff to read and watch to try and simulate my brain #like poking at it with a stick. but nothing is making an impact. i just feel apathetic #got a little morbid in the journey tonight but at least i worked through what im feeling a bit #i dont even know what to do for catharsis

"art" here is defined in the broadest of terms. they are vocal and grating about their opposite opinion. imagine the worst possible options. if you are against "marriage," then this is defined as living with a partner.

#same politics. terrible taste #but this also got me thinking about politics in art and how this situation would work #they have the same political framework as me to view the art but they just come to annoying conclusions? #they dive too deeply into things i dont care about and take a surface level view of the things i care a lot about? #interesting poll!

I’ve been following Yana Toboso’s consultant Rico Murakami on everything about the UK. She wrote this after the first episode aired explaining that the production team meticulously asked for her advice concerning the items one could find in Victorian England.

There was a time I wished that MAPPA take over the animation, but after a couple of years we have known how insidious that studio is. I am glad that CloverWorks took over, although it is a subsidiary of Aniplex. The backgrounds are breathtaking. The texture, the finer details of every furniture, chandeliers, flowers, etc. Of course, there are always naysayers (skin colour is off, etc., etc.). But the number of people who is satisfied weighs more than the negative ones and it is a great that we are witnessing the animated Public School arc unfold before our very eyes in 2024.
