Oh mein Gott, die Avatarserie von Netflix ist so eine Kacke.
Lasst es doch einfach, wenn ihr das source material doof findet.
Sokka ist der einzige gute Part.

I mean, ke is a good guy!
Hey bud, actual question about your space story. Is it queer at all? I simply love the desperation romance that arises in, uh, perfectly normal space ships. I'm just organizing the order of my next few reads right now :)
They wouldn't consider themselves queer because the concept of 'queer' needs a typical gender and sexuality expectation to compare itself to. TTOU takes place in a world with a ternary gender system (male, female and brennan) as well as nonternary people being broadly accepted. (The protagonist is nonternary.) Concepts like gay and straight wouldn't make much sense to them because the idea of identifying yourself by what gender your attracted to is like identifying yourself by what hair colours your attracted to -- many people probably have preferences, but to have it be such a prominent social thing that there's commonly accepted language and self-identity based around such a random detail of attraction would be very, very weird to them. Some of the characters are into sociology and history enough to probably know what the terms mean, but the concept of being 'queer' isn't one that makes sense in their society because those specific systems of oppression aren't there. If you asked them what their sexuality was they'd probably admit they've never really thought about it and think you're being weird and intrusive for asking.
