Me and my baby were hit by a drunk driver and my car is totaled. We are in the emergency room rn and I have no idea how I am gonna afford any of this or my recovery. That car was our livelihood and everything we depend on for survival was destroyed in the crash.

We need to lay more blame for "Kids don't know how computers work" at the feet of the people responsible: Google.

Google set out about a decade ago to push their (relatively unpopular) chromebooks by supplying them below-cost to schools for students, explicitly marketing them as being easy to restrict to certain activities, and in the offing, kids have now grown up in walled gardens, on glorified tablets that are designed to monetize and restrict every movement to maximize profit for one of the biggest companies in the world.

Tech literacy didn't mysteriously vanish, it was fucking murdered for profit.

i know i cant rush emotionally recovering from some shit that happened recently but i keep looking at anything ive created with visceral disgust and its driving me insane. and its not a "its not good enough" kind of disgust its a "is there any point in creating what makes me happy, with a medium that makes me happy, if im going to keep being told that my mode of self-expression is inconvenient again and again" disgust. and its spread to my other stuff too like i can barely bring myself to write like i used to and i cant even look at my current coding projects. i should really stop trying to impress specific people but dammit let me be human i wanted to connect with other people!!!

genuinely i think more artists who want to work past same face syndrome should watch thomas the tank engine. ESPECIALLY if you struggle with drawing noses. its a great reference resource for facial expressions too. i know i dont post much of my own art here (bc wrist pain makes drawing a bitch) but ive genuinely gotten so much more comfortable with drawing faces after getting really into ttte

"you should be human" is a concept thats echoed over and over in to turn sand back to stone btw. its the repetition of "mortal emotions always have their way" (ie you cannot avoid your feelings and you must trust in them) its the fact every character suffers due to dehumanization (in both self-caused and by others) its the constant advice against playing god! be human!!!

the thing with galan trying to get people to his side in order to undo the creation of time travel is that galan never needed to do that. he could very easily just destroy it on his own! he could avoid all the struggles of talking down political extremists and solve the problem with the snap of his fingers, but he doesnt!

after all, galan endured four eternities in total isolation. four incomprehensible lengths of time with no finite end. and he is human, and a human mind cannot endure that kind of isolation. galan seeks out allies not because they will help him in his goals, but because their presence makes him feel like he exists and is alive

galan is often seen by other characters as something other than human, in both positive and negative ways (from being called a monster or animal to sainthood and godliness), but each and every time he hears of it he immediately tries to shut it down with "i am human" because he is human! he is taking an inconvenient route that makes him thousands of times more likely to fail because he is human and wants to do human things like be around other people!!
