(Long time, no post!

So...hi! Been a bit since I've been on here, huh?

I apologize for that. Things have just been kind of hectic for me lately, so I've had to put RP stuff on the backburner here. I do miss all my Overwatch and Mortal Kombat RP friends and I promise I'll jump back into writing with you all again!

That being said, I do have a bit of an announcement.

I'm planning out a massive rework of this account, as I'm planning to expand it from just an Overwatch RP account to a general multiversal account. That means making new art, updating things and getting used to writing in different verses. And that's all going to take a while to do.

So, I guess this is my way of saying that this account is on an official hiatus until 2024. I can't say when the hiatus will end, but it won't be anytime this year.

I'm looking forward to the new direction I plan to take this account and I hope you all will too~!)

(After being spoiled on a few things and realizing I have to rework MK!Ray a bit, I've thought things over and ended up in a completely different direction for him.

He's no longer all about balance between Chaos and Order.

He's still half-Seidan half-Chaosrealmer, but now he's a lovable Chaotic Good gremlin who fights on the side of good out of practicality and might have a few cannibalistic leanings.

Still smooching up on Syzoth, though~)

(I'm a little upset that I got spoiled on some MK1 stuff due to someone getting a little bit overzealous to talk to me about it.

Turns out I need to rethink 'new timeline' MK!Ray since some of my plans for him don't work.

I do have a good idea in mind, though!)

A few more details I thought up.

Ray's fighting style revolves around swapping between three different stances: Order Stance, Chaos Stance and Balance Stance.

By default, he fights in Balance Stance, making use of both sides of his kusarigama in equal measure.

In Order Stance, he sheaths the 'Chaos' end of his kusarigama to make full use of the 'Order' side. While in Order Stance, his attacks are quick and calculated, easily flowing into each other. Only needing to focus on using one blade, Ray is able to put his focus on being more strategic with his movements.

In Chaos Stance, Ray's Chaosrealmer blood overtakes him, the quiet young man becoming raving and ruthless. Stabbing the 'Order' end of his kusarigama into his body as his way of sheathing it, he makes sole use of the 'Chaos' side, his attacks becoming a bit uncoordinated but much more vicious.

Since I'm planning to write in the verse again soon, here's what I have for 'New Timeline' MK!Ray:

He's no longer an Earthrealmer, now being half-Seidan, half-Chaosrealmer, the product of a secret relationship between his father (Seidan) and mother (Chaosrealmer).

Because of this, he's not very openly-welcomed in Orderrealm and treated with outright hostility in Chaosrealm.

Not affiliated with the Lin Kuei, now acting on his own.

Still goes by Mantis, though it is now an affectionate nickname from his parents he took on, rather than a clan alias.

A firm believer of balance.

"Instilling absolute order will only lead to oppression. Letting chaos fully run rampant will only lead to destruction."

Still uses the double-bladed kusarigama. One end had a sleek, symmetrical 'orderly' appearance, the other end has a vicious, jagged 'chaotic' appearance. Each have unique properties as well.

Though he'll willingly work with the heroes, he's somewhat skeptical of Liu Kang's benevolence.

Because he is only half-Chaosrealmer, he isn't capable of the typical self-mutilation but can flex and contort his body to some degree.

His 'main' ship is with Reptile, the two bonding over their shared outcast background.

Also has ship potential with Havik and/or Hotaru. Maybe the new Kuai Liang (Scorpion) as like a 'love transcends timelines' thing.

Hearing that, a small chuckle left Ray as he shook his head.

“Nah, they’re not worth the trouble. Let’s just move on from those idiots and enjoy the rest of our day, yeah~?” He hummed, trying not to show Jamie that he wasn’t bothered by what had happened.

In truth, the words the men had spoken to him bothered Ray more than he cared to admit. They had spoken of how he failed to measure up to the reputation as brilliant agents that his parents had, how his situational role in Overwatch had little value. Though he seemed like he had brushed off the encounter, those who knew Ray could see the small, subtle signs that those words had cut deep.

Jamie looked at Ray in surprise. He was never bothered when people insulted him or said mean things to him. The blonde was already used to all this since he was very small. He didn't care about the negative words anymore. But it was rare for him for anyone to care. The only one he knew to care was his best mate Mako. Knowing that there was someone else who seemed to at least notice it made his heart melt a little.

On impulse he put an arm around Ray's shoulder and gave it a squeeze. "Oh mate, no need to worry! I'm dumb enough not to understand their words. To me it comes out as bla bla and I just ignore it. But tell me… Do you want me to blow them up? Just a little bit? I don't kill them if you don't want to… But just scare them what do you think?" The junker smirks at Ray.
