today on; i had a thought

🩹 synesthetic cameron

okay hear me out this might be one of my favorite headcanons i have for dps, along with adhd meeks and neil playing moritz in spring awakening

cameron has lexical-gustatory synesthesia

and no one knew this, because his parents didn't really want him to go around telling people

until they were in the cave reading poems and cameron had to read a word that tasted icky so he made a grimace

and everyone was like "what's wrong"

he was like "nothing, nothing, that's bitter"

and they're like "?????? what's bitter????"

then all the boys get super hyped and ask him what random words taste like

and cameron's just sitting there like ',,,oh,, that's, like, a cool thing?'

he refuses to tell charlie what the word "titty" tastes like no matter how many time he asks him

"please. please please please tell me" "i am not going to answer that" "does it taste like a titty" "it does not"

todd asks him what frog tastes like and cameron thinks about it a lot

",,,,,,hold on gimme a sec"

"it's a frog"

"it's a very complex word"

",,,the word frog."

“,, it tastes like chicken”

“wtf”

they all ask their names and then he tells charlie his name tastes like a boot sole or something just to piss him off

"no!!!!!!!! not a boot sole something else"

"well sorry char that's just how it is"

"i want like berries like neil or something plz!!!!!!!!!!!!"

eventually tells him the word charlie actually tastes like grape soda and he's like ",,,,ok fine i'll take it"

he said keating tastes like cherry lollipop and for some reason it warms mr. keatings heart,,,

“my name tastes like lollipops guys,,”

he's a little overwhelmed cause usually the attention isn't on him, and when it is it's negative attention, but it's nice

when charlie can't sleep he'll just say random words for cameron to taste until he's bored and falls asleep

and cameron's trying to sleep but suddenly his mouth tastes like hot cheetos so he can't

sometimes he'll do that thing where he'll say a word and realize it tastes nice and just sit there and repeat the word to himself

especially when he's writing essays

charlie will walk into the dorm and just see cameron sitting there just going "precisely. precise???ly??? precisely. pre-cise-ly." for like ten minutes

and sometimes when he's reading some poem in class he'll come across some very sophisticated word that tastes like dirt or something and he'll smile a little bit

the poets make a mental note to ask him what is it that tasted funny later

charlie also made a habit of randomly getting him grape sodas after he learned that's what his name tastes like

"it's so you'll think of me :)" "you infuriate me."

he tells chris her name tastes like soap and for some reason she finds it really funny

"what, like cream soap?" "no just like it's literally like i've shoved a whole bar of soap in my mouth" "is that a good thing?"

he says that meeks' name tastes like pennies and neil goes "how do you know what pennies taste like?" so now it's an ongoing joke in the group that cameron cronches coins

i love him a lot <3
