I work at an esoteric type of shop which specializes in crystals and fortune telling. Now I think that crystals and fortune telling is something fun and something to take with a light heart, and I find it comforting that the rocks we find in the ground can be nature’s way of helping us along. I don’t think the people who pick up a piece of fluorite because it makes them feel happy are fucked up, but I do think that letting a card reading decide major life decisions for you is fucked up.

At the local maritime museum the resident macaw, Merlin, became depressed over covid and the vet recommended he move to a place where he has more company. He left for his new home on Sunday. The museum had no right to be this heartbreaking about Merlin moving away
