Legends Never Die, They Just Need Some Time and Change
You know, I'm still bummed about Mega Man Legends 3. I never played the first two games. Heck, my first exposure to the franchise was the NT Warrior cartoon.
I joined the devroom, voted in the contests, everything.
I bought the 3DS exclusively for the game, only to be disappointed with its cancellation.
I joined the Get Me Off the Moon movement; we made waves, did Q&As, livestreams, preserved devroom pieces. Capcom said "Yeah, we hear you, but it's not happening."
Tumblr media
Does that mean we should give up, after being part of developing what is essentially our game?
No.
While we may not get the game going right now, we can wait for the legacy collection to catch up.
For those who don't know, Capcom needs money in order to operate. Their resources are finite and they must make decisions to ensure they make a profit. That's why they treat certain games (Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter) the same way Activision makes CoD games, a surefire way to make money. However, they also release ports to gauge fan reaction in order to make games of their other respected franchises.
It's called "The Capcom test."
If port sales are good, they can make an estimated guess, take a chance, and make a game related to said port.
Megaman legacy collection sell good? Megaman 11.
X legacy collection sell good? XDive Offline.
Zero/ZX legacy collection sell good? Eh, not really, but you kind of expect that when those games are both niche and hard, something you can't rely on if you want to make a profit.
Battle Network legacy collection sell good? Yep.
Each of those collections have reached $1M within two months of release, except Zero/ZX.
And now we have two sub series left: Starforce and Legends.
I'm predicting Capcom will release Starforce first in 2026. Why? That would be the twentieth year anniversary of its japanese release. Why the Japanese release and not international? It would help space out releases between collections, since 2027 would be the twentieth year anniversary of legends.
And this is crucial. When (and I mean WHEN) Capcom releases the Legends legacy collection (with better controls, HD graphics, all that good modern stuff), and it sells well (like a million copies), then the higher ups would start negotiating if they should finish the story and finally agree to developing Mega Man Legends 3.
But until then, keep making noise. When people say "vote with your wallet," Capcom takes it to heart. So vote megaman. Buy the legacy collections. Buy multiple copies. Join their super elections website, and vote blue bomber.

When you look at what's happening right now, all the political hoo-ha, the disasters, the fact that to make it big in the world you have to be a dick to people. You try to make a decent living, doing what makes you happy, and then some jackass comes along and trashes your place because they tied their ego and sense of self-worth to a number.
Sometimes, I just want to exist and be content with that.
I want to live off-grid in a cabin. A water wheel. Wind turbines in the backyard. Underground electrical batteries and servers. A large, diverse field for farming fruits and vegetables. Remote work. Build enough money for seeds, supplies, specialty foods, etc.

It's weird. As a competition for a child's attention, one out of three Canadian tv channels exists as is.
Family Channel lost distributing rights for Disney Channel programs, so, no one's watching that.
They rebranded Teletoon as Cartoon Network Canada, with the other CN channel rebranded as Boomerang. CN itself is now an empty husk, wheezing out reruns and reboots. The last haven for Teletoon is in Amazon Prime.
And Canadian Nickelodeon, YTV, is still kicking with fresh content and the occasional Disney movie.
So, I guess, YTV is the ultimate victor of the Canadian children's tv channel wars... by default.

This is the third George Carlin/MLP crossover I've seen. And out of the three, this is the best edited. Wonderful work.
Social commentary explains why the Dazzlings are the best villains.
Also, Discord Carlin.

So, I'm writing a Self-insert fanfic of all the animated Disney films, and while I haven't finished Snow White, I found myself in a pickle.
You see, self-insert fanfics come as a double-edged sword. On the one hand, I want to follow the characters on their adventures, but in doing so, I would come off as passive at best and my audience would wonder why I'm here in the first place. On the other hand, I'd try to be a more active player in the story, but that could alter the direction away from the intended ending and alienate the audience.
It will not go public unless people really want it, and if you do want to read it, it would help with some feedback.
To incentivize you, I'm going to give you the title, general synopsis, and ground rules:
The Disney Odyssey
I go on a journey through all the animated films to find my own story.
There will be no live-action, (Sorry Mary Poppins, Love Bug, and Tron) WWII 'package' films like Fun and Fancy-Free, short films, TV shows, Pixar, Fox, or any other subsidiaries. I'd be here all day and not get anything done. Just the animated films from Disney's animation department. From Snow White, to Wish.

Since Steven Universe premiered, I thought it was going to be another cartoon, minus the erratic release scheduling "Steven bombs." But when Bismuth was released, I started having this niggling feeling that something was wrong. It wasn't until the diamonds arrived at Garnet's wedding that it all clicked.
Steven was trying to make peace with the space nazis and the story was bending over backward to make it work.
That was when I turned up my nose and emotionally cut ties to the show.
What really sets me off is that it didn't have to go in this direction. There was already a story waiting to be written.
What if Yellow Diamond was the villain?
If we go from the trial onward, we'd have some suspicions that the diamonds aren't as close in the caste system as others we're told. From the different reactions to the accusation that only a diamond could get close enough to shatter Pink Diamond. Whereas Blue gasps, Yellow poofs the lawyer on the spot.
When he returns to earth, Steven starts investigating what really happened during the gem war. He discovers that because Pink can create an army as efficiently as possible, Yellow wants Earth's resources for herself. But because she said no, Yellow abducted Pink's Pearl, programmed her to assassinate Pink, and blamed it all on Rose Quartz. So the war started. Phase one completed.
(Rose and Pink are separate entities. That twist was stupid)
When the war went on for too long to Yellow's liking, she convinced the other diamonds to use the corrupting light to clear the area ripe for colonization. But the others became too distraught over their loss of Pink, so they agreed to keep the planet preserved, much to Yellow's dismay.
During the war, Yellow discovers the rebel's ability to fuse into a stronger individual. Intrigued, she conducts experiments to fuse fallen gem shards into stronger soldiers, only to create monstrosities. That only drives her to make the cluster and plant it deep beneath the earth's crust, as a failsafe, and a last goodbye to her bratty little diamond.
It shocked Steven to learn this horrible history. He runs to his family and friends to tell them everything. The gems and humans make contact with the homeworld and plead with them to not destroy the earth.
Their response? "Filthy Fleshies." They remotely activate the cluster. They only have twenty-four hours' til full formation.
Peridot finds the location of the cluster and joins Steven in digging into the crust and finding the cluster. Steven bubbles as many fragments as he can, but it's too much. Too many. Then, the fragments bubble with each other. There's hope. They can save the earth and everyone on it.
The bubbles burst.
Everything they have strived for was for nothing. The cluster is taking shape. Steven and Peridot quickly escape to Beach City with the others.
The gems can only hug each other in their impending doom. But when all seems lost, a mysterious green spaceship landed outside their house. The door opens up, revealing Lars to helm the ship. He opens the cargo bay doors, ordering everyone to evacuate the planet. Many people ran onboard, easily fitting more than half the population. However, among those that didn't make it past the closing doors were Greg, Pearl, and Connie's parents. The middle-aged couple cries they can't be with their girl, but they take solace in knowing that she's in good hands with Steven. While Greg and Pearl watch their boy banging the transparent door to get to them, they look at each other and hug to reconcile over their shared and lost love, accepting themselves as friends.
Steven orders Lars to open the doors, but it's too late. They've launched into space. Tears pour down Steven's cheeks as he looks towards the crumbling earth. Cracking, twisting, and pulsing with such magma energy that shoots out into the cold cosmos. Until the earth explodes. When the fire and stone give out, all that remains is something that was born of the earth and nothing like the earth. A creature of unfathomable beauty and horror. Arms upon arms. Legs upon legs. Eyes that see beyond infinity. A creature that was created to cover up Yellow Diamond's crimes. It can only wail in its anguish to a deaf universe.
Lars turns off the cargo screen so the screams won't distract him. Connie tries to comfort Steven, but he dries his tears for the last time, and a change in attitude came. He marches towards Bismuth and asks if she can make weapons for everyone. She makes plans as the ship flies into a jungle planet where they can take shelter and start the rebellion anew.
While that's going on, Yellow Diamond takes Blue to an undisclosed location. A remote space station that operates as a human zoo. She tries to convince Blue that these creatures are beneath them and don't deserve her compassion. But because she was fond of Pink's antics and jovial attitude, Blue can't bring herself to destroy what's left of Pink's memory.
Yellow apologizes and shatters Blue's gem. Phase two complete.
Once outside the room, she announces Blue's death as a grief-stricken suicide and convinces the remaining gems to join her side and overthrow an "apathetic" White Diamond. They all agree, and any who question her are shattered immediately. She uses their fragments as building blocks for her new weapon. Once she takes over as sole ruler of gemkind, she will start expanding her gem empire, colonizing worlds in her name, and have the entire universe under her boot.
It will be up to Steven Universe and the Crystal Gems to traverse the galaxy, find new alien civilizations to unite with the Starchild Rebellion, and save the galaxy from Yellow Diamond's tyranny.

I'm already imagining the Disney company, on the release of Wish, announcing their run for president. Because they are people.
They would win the majority vote and electoral college, which they'd abolish, followed by democracy itself to turn the United States of America into the Kingdom of America just to name their daughter the first Disney Princess of America. They'd turn the entire country into one big resort.
Then, they make plans to build a new international space station that looks suspiciously like the death star, put it behind the earth next to the moon, use a satellite to take a picture, and tweet it, saying "I own your ass."
And nobody questions any of this.
You know they'd do it.
