The napping of great old giants takes as long as the hibernation of a bear. But when the giants go to sleep it takes them so long to wake up their skin becomes wrinkled and crumbly and rivers start running through their noses and plush carpets of moss replace all their hair. When they wake up the world is different and their groaning shakes the world and their coughs spin the winds up. And you can always hear a giant waking up even a mile or two away because they sing a sad song, mourning loudly all the changes of the world, and there are always lots of changes to mourn and sometimes the song takes a long time to end. and the song always promises to never be sung again because it's so sad but giants need to sleep and sometimes the change is good for them. So they have to be brave and wake up to new days, even if they sigh out storms and ache earthquakes. Make sure to do something nice in the world so giants can wake up to a place better than the one they fell asleep in

Behold! My latest Bad Keyboard, the ShiftKeyBoard!

It's got nine buttons, and an 8-way gear shifter. You simply shift into different gears to select which sub-keyboard to use. Surprisingly easy to use, in fact.

Here's the layout I used:

Two more things:

1. the numbers under each gear position image are an implementation detail for the gearshifter I used, which I had on my guide image to help me code it.

2. the funniest thing I discovered is that you have to shift into neutral before reprogramming the keyboard or it wouldn't work right. I kept leaving it in first gear which caused problems, where it would only recognize 1 and 4th gear.

hey I went to Bad At It island and everyone you know was there. yeah turns out you just see the version of them they put forwards in order to not disappoint and in actuality everyone is just trying their best which doesn't always mean succeeding. yeah you were there as well but it's ok because you're surrounded by your friends and loved ones and if you take a moment you'll realise we are all flawed by nature but we are all full of love for one another and that matters more than any skill or success or achievement.
