i don't know if this is being talked about outside of australia, but recently there was a mass stabbing event in my city. six people are dead and eight more badly injured.
the media coverage and public conversation around the stabbing has been really awful. it started with frenzied theorising- without any evidence- that the perpetrator was a muslim extremist, a palestinian hamas agent, including spreading false information about the victims to create a narrative of islamic violence. when it resulted that the perpetrator was a white man from queensland, the coverage instantly shifted- instead of a terror attack, it was now a lone wolf, a non-ideological result of an individual's mental health issues. this is typical of the framing when it comes to perpetrators: a white person is an individual, a brown person is a faceless member of an ideology. but, crucially, the attack was not non-ideological. the perpetrator specifically targeted women, specifically avoiding men except where they were preventing him from getting to women. six out of seven of the deceased victims were women, and in interviews with the perpetrators parents, they talked about his anger at not having a girlfriend. misogyny is ideological, and men are trained to harbour deep resentment towards women that regularly manifests in violence. this event was a targeted act of femicide. while it is unclear if the perpetrator was involved in any specific right-wing groups, that the attack was driven by hatred of women is not in doubt.
the new narrative is one of demonising mental illness, because the perpetrator was diagnosed with schizophrenia and there is no avenue to blame his race. there are now open calls in the media for stricter use of sectioning and more oppressive tracking, forced medication and indefinite institutionalisation of the mentally ill. it is the mentally ill who will suffer from this narrative, while the fostering of violent misogyny goes unchecked. this country never stops letting us down

i'm just gonna say that if you define terf as "anyone who disagrees with me" and then you post about how child abuse is a part of queer identity then yeah you're gonna find a lot of "terfs"

It’s really funny to me how sex, out of all the social categories, is the least ambiguous yet is treated like it is the most by TRAs. Have you ever seen a TRA explain why transracial is wrong but transgender is ok? They always yap about how gender is a social construct… as if race isn’t? They’re like well racial differences are real and it can be determined with genetics. Like. So close! That is eugenics ❤️

Everything bad happens to men is women's fault, what a news
'women aren't responsible for male loneliness' sure but i think the fact that you in particular can't say a positive thing about a man and only publicly talk about how much they annoy you has a lot to do with the self-confidence issues that root at this loneliness

it is soooo crazy how male friendships are always better because in female friendships girls just fight all the time but also there is a male loneliness epidemic because men dont talk about their feelings with their friends and they need to rely on women

Thinking about Maria MacLachlan's (PeakTrans) latest video and how she excellently described the process of a feminist left-wing women (like JK Rowling) becoming critical of the trans movement.
At first, you are basically in what she called a 'blissful ignorance'. Your opinion of the trans movement is "live and let others live". Then you start to notice little things that are just plain wrong, like men stealing trophies from women and lesbians being told they are not allowed to tell on a dating app that they are into females only.
So you decide to voice your opinion. You say something like, "I have nothing against trans people who just want to live their lives, but i find this [particular thing] harmful and unfair". You are assuming and fully expecting in your blissful ignorance, nothing more from it. Maybe a bit of debate, but mostly understanding since all these points you made are good points after all, and this is the self-proclaimed feminist LGB+ "be kind" brigade so the rights of women and gay people should matter, right?
Instead, you receive abuse. Not just any abuse, but misogynistic abuse, threats, doxxing, lies, twisting your words, and attempts to make you lose your lifelihood.
First, you are shocked, but then you start to feel angry. Angry and betrayed. You start to wonder how many others like you have been shut out and silenced by trans activists. You may start by looking up "that one woman" who you think was not entirely treated fairly, but you had earlier decided to accept the trans activists' version that she is just "a bigot".
You find out that despite trans activists vehemently claiming some things never happen, they do happen. They just willfully ignore them. You find out people criticising trans movement are feminists, LGB people, concerned parents, medical experts, and even trans people themselves. Trans activists just lie when they claim they are far-righters and conservatives. You find out they do not want trans people dead. It is the trans activists who send them death threats and show up to their events to "punch terfs".
And you become angrier, so you decide you will not be silenced. You decide to talk more and raise more awareness. The more you criticise and the more you share, the more abuse trans activists send to you. And the angrier you become.
Then the useful idiots see your anger and are convinced you are just a hater that should not be listened to. Why else would you be so angry?

No need to make me love them more, OP
Feminism doesn't revolve around men. Die mad about it.
I need people to stop glorifying the 4B movement in Korea, from a Western (white) perspective. Stop it. If you are blissfully unaware of this (having not been on TikTok) - in theory, it makes sense. No sex with men, no dating men, no child rearing with men, and no marriage with men. But. BUT. Feminists in Korea are problematic AF. I know this from both personal experience (having been on the receiving end of their ire online) and everything I've read about them, in Korean. I see all these white TikTokers (and even some in the Korean diaspora) fawning over how "we" in the US need this and, no. If your feminism is transphobic, hates gay men, hates men in general, that's not the feminism I'd endorse. Why is Korean feminism transphobic? In 2020, Korean feminists ACTIVELY CAMPAIGNED AGAINST a woman who was accepted to Sookmyung University. An all womens' university. But she was a woman, you say. What could be their problem? According to Korean feminists, they didn't want a "man" in their space. Because she is a trans woman. This is not unusual for Korean feminists. Having lived there for 5 years, to some extent, I understand their anger against misogyny. But if you are truly against the toxic patriarchy that exists in Korea, you must also help dismantle military conscription because that is where a lot of men become radicalized, bullied, etc etc and "grow up" to be the most toxic form of men seen on this earth. But Korean feminists don't give AF about that and in fact, I've read a lot of them express that it's good for men to suffer. Guess what? That view is internalized misogyny and toxic patriarchy, too. And I don't want to hear it about the movement being so "young". Korean women have stepped up to the plate before in our history. We are capable of better than this fucking nonsense. It's a bunch of transphobic, gay hating radicals that have hijacked what was supposed to be about social justice. WOMAD (link is to the Wikipedia article, not their site) and Megalia are the two sites they stem from. It is the most toxic group of people I've ever had the displeasure to encounter online. Any form of criticism is, at best, ignored and worst - I've been "called out" for being Korean-American, and therefore, to "butt out" of "Korean issues". Amongst other bullying I've personally received. And yes, not just on forums but on public articles that I've commented on.
I know it's a catchy title and it appeals in theory but please, please do not glorify these transphobes and TERFs. They don't deserve your attention.

I genuinely really fucking hate how some bisexual women do not view relationships with women as valid in the same way m/f relationships are.
A bisexual woman at my work recently got married and she told me that she's told her husband "if you fuck up, my best friend (a woman) is on stand by, just so you know" and I KNOW she would never fucking say something like that about a man. She would never tell her husband that he better behave because she has another man on the back burner if he doesn't.
When I was in high school, one of my friends went back and forth between questioning and identifying as bisexual. Eventually she outright asked me if I wanted to have sex with her so she could explore that part of herself. That's an awkward spot to be put in no matter what, but it was made worse by the fact she was in a serious relationship with a man (as in, she is still with him to this very day). When I asked her why she'd make such a pass at me while having a boyfriend, she said that "he's okay" with her exploring that part of herself. And it's just like. Lmao. Okay. Tell him you want to explore with another man and tell me what happens. What is there to even explore? You are with HIM. Clearly you've made your choice. Your exploration is over, boo.
I know there are so many other examples out there. Some bisexual women outright say they will never marry a woman and would only ever fool around with one. It's sickening. f/f relationships are not lesser than m/f ones. Treat your female partners better (ESPECIALLY if they're lesbians) or don't disturb them at all.

17 year-old Juliane Koepcke was sucked out of an airplane in 1971 after it was struck by a bolt of lightning. She fell 2 miles to the ground, strapped to her seat and survived after she endured 10 days in the Amazon Jungle.
Tumblr media
After ten days, she found a boat moored near a shelter, and found the boat's fuel tank still partly full. Koepcke poured the gasoline on her wounds, an action which succeeded in removing the maggots from her arm. Out of 93 passengers and crew, Juliane was the only survivor of the LANSA flight 508 crash that took place December 24th, 1971.

there was a trans march in mexico city days ago where this man, after lifting his skirt and flashing his underwear, yelled "hope your daughter gets raped, b*tch!" at a female cop.
TRAs and their obsession with sending rape threats to anyone that dares to disagree with them... nothing new.
