Sometimes I think about what this scene must have been like from Lydia’s perspective. 

Imagine: you’ve just been rescued(?) by this detective(?) and his friend(?). I’m free! you think, until the detective puts you on top of a dumpster and your little corgi body can’t reach the ground. While you try to find a way down, the detective and his friend have a fight; the friend is, inexplicably, wearing A Shower Curtain Rife With Pathos.

The detective runs up to the dumpster and asks you, “Are you Lydia Spring?” 

Holy crap, I’m saved! you think, except now they’re arguing about dog hypnotists and seems to have forgotten all about you. 

At least I’m safe with a detective who knows I’m really Lydia, you think. At least I’m out of immediate danger. 

A few hours later, they throw you off a bridge. 

You vow that, as soon as you have opposable thumbs again, you’re giving their detective agency a one-star review on Yelp.
