something important i feel the need to address

this thing has been eating at me for a hot minute so anyone who's come to my profile due to my 2020 hazbin hotel art, take the time to read through this!

a lot of my art consists of ship art between Angel Dust and Vaggie, both are canonically a gay man and a lesbian. some of my stuff even has Alastor taking interest in Vaggie, again, a lesbian.

no one has come to me directly with an issue over this, though it was involved in some whisperings amongst some prolific artists in, i believe a private twitter account? im not a saint and have been called out on other pieces of art i've drawn (and not proud of) in the past.

keep in mind ^ that instance was in 2020. deep in my hazbin hyperfixation period, and it stuck around for a while as folks who were well aware of it went to discord mods of servers i was in and i got messages from said mods. it spread around too.

at the time, i was stubborn and thought "it's not malicious. i like these characters and it's comforting for me to draw them kissing and hugging and making kids." and that's true! it was never malicious intent. i never wanted to change their sexual orientations or wished they were different. i never thought that. i was happy with their canon interests and relationships.

but that doesn't matter. the content exists, and has the power to influence and strike conversations. unwanted conversations.

during my time in the fandom i noticed there was a notable crowd of fans who audibly and visibly displayed their disdain for things like charlie and vaggie's relationship. rather charlie and/or vaggie be with a man instead.

despite my intentions. art like this can encourage toxic behavior and closed-minded thinking.

my hazbin art has gotten more attention lately obviously because of the show releasing. and a certain instance where my art was tagged with a trigger tag, made me feel like i needed to address it all and try and make a statement.

i'm not taking any art down. taking it down would feel like hiding it and pretending i never did it which obviously isn't true. besides deleting a tumblr post won't stop it from being reblogged and shared around it'll just remove the original post.

i don't know if i'll ever draw hazbin hotel art again, period. but if i ever do i won't draw that content again.

i regret it and i do not stand by it.

i dont post here very often, main reason is i dont draw very much these days. another reason is i prefer to copy + paste my images rather than save them onto my computer (RIP), which tumblr doesn’t let you do. and i pretty much only doodle i dont make full illustrations. 

other than that, right now i am more active on my twitter and my other blog.
