You know I may just be talking to myself here but people need to remember to do gentle tickles as well as intense ones.

It seems so simple but I know when I get excited to do a tickle scene and think of tickling I immediately think of like… deep tickles. Kneading at sides, digging between toes, clawing at underarms, squeezing hips and thighs…

Which like. Go off, all valid.

But from a sensory standpoint on the Lee’s side that can all be very one note. Which maybe that’s the only note they want played. That can be gone over through negotiations. One of my (long list) of negotiation questions is “how intense do you want to be tickled?”. Sometimes it’s “idk” or “whatever” but sometimes you tailor. Anyway, getting distracted.

If it’s anything and everything, why would you just give intense tickles?

They’re great, don’t get me wrong. I love making a Lee howl with laughter, cry with laughter, and squirm/thrash so that I need to hold them down. But what can also be lovely is using 1-2 fingers on a spot.

You can even tease with that. “Aww, I’m only using one finger along your sole… up and down… up and down.” Or “Come on, I’m only tickling one rib right now? You’ve got lots more… should I move on and count them all?” Or “it’s just two fingers in your armpits. I could do much worse… but I think I’ll let you sit with this for a bit. Aren’t I nice? Now say thank you.”

This provides a few things: it activates nerves for later tickles. It eases your partner into a ticklish mood for later/gets them more in the scene. It lets you be more relaxed as well and not get too tired (tickling can be tiring on both parties!), and it also lets your partner savor a new experience!

Enough to tickle obviously… but also not enough to *need* to pull away. It feels good, almost… but they can’t help but wear a forced smile that grows larger with every stroke and prod. Giggles and laughter bubbling up as if from a stream that can’t be stopped. For how long? Well that’s for me to decide and you to find out I suppose.

So I wanted to know what kind of crystal could go in a wizard staff, right? so I googled “big crystal,” as one does, and got an Etsy ad for This

And as you all know I Am currently taking a geology class, so I am probably more emotionally invested in minerals than usual. But that is...very obviously not a natural crystal.

So I did some looking around on Etsy.

Now, these shops all seem to advertise to the “witchy”/“spiritual healing” type of person. And there are a lot of them. Crystals are a Big Thing on Etsy. And ALMOST ALL of them are obviously artificially cut into the same sort of prism with a triangular pyramid top, regardless of the actual sort of crystal it is supposed to be.

Even like, fucking, obsidian. Obsidian is volcanic glass, it doesn’t form crystals at all, it is not a crystal

I’m not throwing any shade at people who are into crystals for like witchy reasons, but it really seems like if crystals are spiritually important to you, you should know what a crystal is...right...?
