AGED SO WELL, CONTENT GOOD
I so badly want the same dumbass energy that was in the Odyssey video to come to this crew in Ruined King
I want Illaoi flirting with Braum all the time
I want Pyke to be super snobby to Captain Fortune
I want Ahri to be a slut but like, the cool kind
I want Fortune and Yasuo having a drink in the Captain's quarters and talking about all the shit that's happened recently
There is so much potential

Yes, hello, could I possibly get some "Pyke happens upon someone who somehow isn't on his list and it's not like he has a lot of people to talk to so this one's his friend now?" Friends to lovers, if you want.
First of all, sorry for making you wait so long, but real life stuff's been keeping me busy recently. Then i kept procrastinating and i won't pretend i didn't. Then i wanted to make it good but i didn't like the first few versions. So, this took way longer than expected, but i hope it was a least worth the wait somewhat.
Second, this got super long but i'll admit i was very excited to write my boy Pyke.
And with this fic, i come back from the dead.

"You're not on the list" Pyke x Reader fic
It was a bad day. Bad day at work, bad day at life. You were making your way home, exhausted, and the only thing you could think of was making your way to the dry, warm bed that awaited you in your house.
But that was still a long walk from you, and the downpour wasn’t getting any lighter. At least it would wash off the fish smell, you thought with a grim optimism. The sound of rain was deafening. It hasn’t rained this hard in months, and you hoped that the raging stormy sea would sink your workplace at least for a week. You needed vacation very badly.
The smell of saltwater was still strong, even here, quite a bit from the shore, and you were wondering if it’ll ever come off - but as you examined yourself, you realized that it not only wasn’t coming from you, but that it’s source was also lying somewhere ahead, as it grew stronger with every step.
Then, right as you took a turn towards your street, you saw it - a bloody corpse on the ground, and a man towering above it. The weapon - no, it was a harpoon - he held was dripping with blood, although the rain was slowly washing it off.
You took a step back. Then another. You hoped to quickly retreat, before the killer sees you - but he must have heard you, as his face turned in your direction. His one eye glowed with a faint blue light. A realization came upon you.
It was the Bloodharbor Ripper.
It’s over. There’s nothing you can do. Those who came face to face with the Ripper, and lived to tell their tale could be counted on the fingers of one hand. It felt like your heart stopped, as he started making his way towards you.
Then he pulled out a sheet of paper.
“Your name.”
You stopped thinking of the least painful ways to die in this situation, and looked at the Ripper in surprise.
“....What?”
“Your NAME.”
Too shocked to even consider making one up, you managed to choke out an answer. The monster examined the paper, only to ready his harpoon.
“You’re on the list.”
“BUT IT’S GOT AN ODD SPELLING!” You yelled out without thinking, panicking to save your life.
“...Odd spelling?”
“Yes, see everyone misspells it, it should be written as Y/N!”
The ripper checked the paper again, not so confident now.
“You’re… not on the list. A mistake.”
“Yes, it was just a misunderstanding! So how about I just go on about my day and forget about this whole thing?”
The ripper examined you for a few seconds.
“Very well.”
And with those words, he disappeared into thin air.
That was the first time you met Pyke.
The second time, it was in a shady district, not far from the slaughter docks. All parts of Bilgewater reeked of seaweed and fish guts - but this one was particularly bad. Near the wharf, this place was a popular hangout spot for all sorts of folks who took the opportunity to walk solid ground to pass the time until they set sail again. More often than not, those men used this time to make some extra cash - via work, gambling, or, usually, illegal means.
You always took extra caution when venturing into those parts by yourself. Many people went missing around those parts, and, generally it would be a bad idea to wander here alone. You had years of experience, and many connections from doing all sorts of work in the area, making you safer than a whole group of people would be - but you still kept your guard up, just in case some drunk with a bad attitude decided to bother you.
You flinched, as the smell of saltwater suddenly grew in intensity. There was still a long way to go ‘till you reach the wharf, and the smell was way too strong. This has happened once before, hasn’t it? Taken back by the unusual smell, you allowed a running man to crash into you. Knocked back by the impact, you could see the man struggle to keep his balance, just as a harpoon pierced his chest, pulling him back into the dark alley he just ran out of. His chilling shriek was cut short, as a wet, slashing sound filled the air. Just as you were about to get up and start running, a watery silhouette materialised before you. You felt a shiver down your spine, as you realised that you had the misfortune of meeting the Bloodharbor Ripper twice in such a short time. Just as you were about to go through a mental checklist of all the things you failed to accomplish in your short life, the monster extended his arm towards you.
“I remember you” he said, snapping you back to reality. “Y/N. You’re not on my list.”
Unable to believe your luck, you instinctively grabbed the reached-out hand, allowing him to lift you back up on your feet.
“That’s right. I’m not on the list.” you said, perhaps a bit overly enthusiastic about not being killed on the spot.
“Good work. You stopped him.” He let go of your hand, to cross out something on that list of his. “That's another one off.”
“Yes. Good for you. I’m glad I could help. Can always count on me, hahaha… ha...”
The Ripper looked at you with a puzzling look. You thought that, perhaps, you should stop talking.
He reached into his pocket, pulling something shiny out of it, and handing it to you - a golden kraken.
“You helped. Your cut.”
Unwilling to take anything from a person like this, you shook your head.
“That’s very nice, but I don't need it. Keep it. Really.”
With hesitation, the Ripper put the coin back into his pocket.
“Very well. Come with me, then.”
This was bad. This was not a situation you wanted to be in, not now and not ever. Wondering whether to say you changed your mind about the money, or straight up make a run for it, you watched as the Ripper, now a couple meters ahead, turns back towards you.
“You coming?” You could have sworn you heard a threat hidden behind those words. Deciding you’re probably best off being compliant, you followed his lead.
The pub was full of drunken noise, and you had a hard time deciding whether or not it was worse than the stench. Stench of alcohol, cigars, and other things you’d rather not think about.
The people around you were all shady figures, too. You could tell from all the years of your work in the docks, that those were not the kind of people you wanna be around for any longer than necessary. Then again, they all seemed like small fry, compared to the man in front of you, aggressively chewing on a bloody steak. You looked at the meal in front of you, but your appetite left you a long time ago.
“It’s Pyke, by the way” the Ripper spoke, putting down an empty plate.
“Uhh… I’m Y/N… but, you already know that.”
Pyke nodded, and emptied his mug in one go. You decided that since you’re already here, sitting in front of Bilgewater’s most fabled murderer, you might as well crack a conversation. Not like it could get any worse at this point.
“Liquor? Any good?”
He grinned, exposing all of his shark teeth.
“Saltwater.”
Your confusion must have been very clear, because the man erupted with laughter.
“Look, Y/N, can’t you tell what kinda place this is?”
“Well, it’s certainly one of the shadiest pubs in the city.”
“And yet you still don’t get it. You think they don’t know who I am?”
“It... has occured to me that it is kinda weird how no one is saying anything.” You admitted.
“These kinds of places? They have their own rules. They don’t care who you are as long as you pay. And if I pay for saltwater, they WILL serve me saltwater.” Pyke glanced around the place. “Plus, it makes a good hunting spot. Many people from my list show up here.”
“But surely the owners know you kill their clients?”
“Those people wind up ‘round here once a year. Some even less. They don’t make this place any real profit. I show up regularly, so if I kill some customers, it’s still worth it for them to turn a blind eye.” He paused. “Well, as long as I don't do the killing in the pub.”
“Sooo… Pyke. Why did you bring me here?”
“‘Cuz you wouldn’t take money, and I owed you.”
You glanced at the, now cold, meal on your plate.
“I thought you were gonna kill me.”
Another burst of hearty laughter. It crossed your mind how unfitting it was for the terror of all Bilgewater to laugh like that.
“If I was gonna kill you I’d have done it all the way back in the city. You’re not on my list. I’ve no interest in killing you. Besides - it’s fun to hang out with someone… more lively than me. Sometimes.”
You feel like you just took your first breath since meeting Pyke back in the docks. Now that you relaxed a bit, you realized that the intense smell of saltwater you noticed earlier was coming from him. You wondered whether or not it would be rude to ask about him, but Pyke interrupted your thoughts.
“We should team up.”
You rapidly snapped your head up to look at him.
“You’re kidding me.”
“I’ve watched you. You get your hands dirty in all sorts of business. No reason why you wouldn’t work with me.”
“There’s plenty of reasons - not wanting to be killed, for one.”
“Don’t be like that. I’ll keep you safe.” You couldn’t tell whether he just blinked with his only good eye or winked at you but you were nearly certain it was the latter.
“I’m sorry, but this is not very reassuring.”
“Give it some thought, then. I’ll pay well.”
“So why me? I’m sure almost everyone currently in this pub would do a better job.”
“Over half of those people are on my list. Plus, it’s ‘cuz you look so out of place, that you’re the best for this job.”
You let out a heavy sigh, tired of how unspecific he was.
“So what do you want me to do?”
Pyke grinned, leaning forward, his face uncomfortably close to yours.
“I want you to be bait.”
You immediately shot up, leaving him right there at the table. You only turned around once, making eye contact with him.
“No. Way.”
You were making your way through the shady alleyways, hoping to get out of the dangerous location as fast as possible. Every second spent here was a risk to your life. The area you worked at certainly wasn’t safe, but the place you were in right now was a whole other kind of dangerous.
On top of that, you were alone.
You jumped at every sound, adjusting your path to avoid areas where you could hear people. It didn’t help that you didn’t know those parts well, as you were constantly getting lost in the labyrinth of dark alleyways. Cursing, as you had to backtrack from another dead end, you froze as you heard something. No, not something - you were certain those were footsteps. You looked around, but the alley had been completely straight for a while, and you were certain that the steps were closer than the nearest branch. Instinctively, you backed down, looking for anywhere to hide.
Nothing.
The steps drew near, so you grabbed the dagger you carried around. Maybe you could take the person by surprise. Perhaps they didn’t know you’re in here.
“Now where’s ye hidin’, pretty face?”
Crap.
Your thoughts raced, as you thought of ways to get out of this situation. You weren’t the best in hand to hand combat, but perhaps you could try a trick to get away. Just play along, and then… Or maybe…
The man was nearing you, two meters tall at the very least, quite massive too. You calculated your odds, and you decided that they looked pretty grim. The man walking towards you opened his mouth, only to cough up blood, as a harpoon pierced his heart.
The body collapsed, revealing Pyke, slowly making his way towards you.
“See? Not a hair.”
Relief quickly turned into anger, as you realized what the man’s just done. Holding back your rage, you attempted to clarify that you weren’t wrong.
“You used me as bait.”
“And you’re safe, like I told you.”
“ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?!”
Pyke stopped, taken aback by your burst.
“What are you-”
“I COULD HAVE DIED!”
“You weren’t in any real danger-”
“But I thought I was! I was SCARED!”
Pyke scratched his head with embarrassment.
“Right. I didn’t consider that. My bad. You forget this stuff when you haven't been human for a while. Sorry.”
“You forgot.”
“Yes.”
“That humans get scared when in danger.”
“Yes.”
You sat down on a nearby step, exhausted. Massaging your temple, you were wondering how to proceed next. Pyke was standing nearby, leaning against a wall, probably waiting for what you’re gonna do next.
“To be fair, I just wanna go home.” You spoke eventually, getting up and ready to move again.
“Can I make it up somehow?” Pyke asked.
“Can you turn back the time to undo your poor and inconsiderate life choices?”
“No. But I can walk you home, if it makes you feel safe.”
“If you walk me out of this part of the city it’ll do.”
“Very well.”
As you entered a familiar part of the town, you turned around to see Pyke was nowhere in sight. Whether or not he was still following you invisible, was a whole other question, but you decided not to ponder on it for now. As you made your way to your house, you reached into your pocket to get the keys. To your surprise, you felt a strange object in there. You took it out, just to realize it was a golden kraken - much like that one Pyke offered you before. Looking back, the day was crazy, but he’s kept his word that you’ll be safe all along. You smirked.
Maybe you’ll consider the job after all.
