Day 2 - Zouis Reunion

Louis smiled as Niall walked up to him, bringing the Irishman in for a one-armed hug as he held his beer close to his chest. It had only been a few weeks since he'd seen the man but after spending five years of their life touring together, they still hadn't gotten used to not being in contact each day.

"Lou, you're not going to believe who's here," Niall grinned, wrapping an arm round his shoulder and guiding them across the room. "I didn't believe it myself at first, thought I'd had one too many drinks or something. But they're here, Lou, they're actually here. I've been waiting for this for six years."

Louis chuckled slightly at his friend's drunken slurs, assuming that Niall had bumped into Liam or Ed again. When drunk, the blond tended to get really excited over seeing his friends, even if it had only been a few days.

"Here he is, lad! Told ya I'd find 'im!" Niall called, abruptly turning a corner and pausing in front of-

"Zayn?"

"Hey Lou..." Louis' heart was pounding in his ears as he stared at the man in front of him, his brain stuck between wanting to stand his ground and wanting to turn around and march out.

"It's Zayn, Louis!" Niall squealed, slinging an arm around Zayn as the other two laughed awkwardly.

"Yeah, I see that Niall," Louis replied quietly, still staring at his former friend as Zayn shuffled awkwardly on his feet. They remained silent for a while, Niall clamboring off behind Louis with a vague call of someone's name.

"Lou, can we talk? Please?" Zayn asked, breaking the tension.

Louis considered his options for a moment, taking in Zayn's pleading gaze before sighing loudly and downing the rest of this drink.

"I think we're both too drunk to talk about what we need to talk about right now," he began, placing his beer bottle on the closest table before inching closer to the other man. "However, I do know that the two of us haven't been alone for a very long time."

He whispered the last line, having almost closed the gap between them as his eyes dropped to Zayn's lips.

He heard Zayn breathe in deep before the other man's lips were on his and his hands were pulling him in closer. Something that had been missing for so long finally slotted back into place. They could talk everything out in the morning, but for now Louis was home.
