Hiya
Saw that you were looking for some request to help get you out of your block (I hate when that happens) so I was wondering if we could get a Zoro x F/GN reader with the prompt "Holding your hand under the guise of not getting lost in a crowd" The swordsman isn't as touchy as Luffy but I think he'd find a way to get that physical touch.
Thanks 🌴
Hey anon, thanks dear for the request 🫶🏻 I love this idea!! It has me all 🤭 giggling and kicking my feet. Also I hope you’re satisifed with this 🤍
Crappy Love Confessions
Pairing: Zoro x gn!reader
Tags: grumpy x sunshine, established relationship, Zoro thinks he’s being slick but you got him all figured out, slight insecurity/jealousy
Warnings: none, just fluff
Writing prompt: “Holding your hand under the guise of not getting lost in a crowd”
Summary: You arrive in a new town and you end up exploring it with your boyfriend by your side
A/N: I mostly wrote this in the middle of my lectures - I hope the person behind me had a blast reading this 😭 and ngl as much as I love grumpy men, they’re lowkey so hard to write (BUT I WELCOME THE CHALLENGE)
Word count: 1.5k
Tumblr media
Loud chatter, salesmen shouting and advertising their products filled the air, the smell of various restaurants, children running about - the tunes of a new city filled your senses and you stare around in awe; almost every time it‘s the same deal and every single time you‘re still amazed by this feeling.
Luffy‘s hand met your back and finally pushed you off the boat. “Come on, y/n.“, he was drooling and you looked at him in amusement, “I smell meat!“ - he was already gone - a chuckle escaped your lips at the antics of your captain.
“Cutie-chan“, Sanji gasped dramatically and he grabbed your hands to check if you‘re alright, “are you-„
Zoro‘s grumble interrupted him and the both of them are about to butt heads again; you‘re ready to intervene and prevent the town from getting destroyed by these two but Nami was faster.
“Don‘t you guys have things to do.“, she pointedly stared at Sanji, since he was the one that needed supplies and ingredients for the next few weeks.
Sanji is about to make a flirty remark but stops himself when he sees Nami‘s glare, she pushes him off the deck and Zoro towards your direction, then proceeds to hum around about ‚not having too much fun‘ and your cheeks flush slightly; nonetheless you grin at her and shout back “no promises.“
Zoro looks at you, or well, more like scowls at you and if you didn‘t know any better you‘d think he was mad at you.
Your head tilts slightly to the right - inaudibly asking what‘s wrong.
“It‘s nothing“, he tenses up, and you can see something is bothering him in his eyes - now you could go about this in two ways, either you pester him and force him to tell you or you respect his boundaries and let it be.
You figured he‘d eventually tell you himself once he‘s comfortable enough and let it go, instead you focus on the rumbling town in front of you and smile and start walking, you knew Zoro would follow you either way so you don‘t bother calling out to him.
The both of you check out the shops, while you grab some utilities you also check out the snack vendors, all while Zoro is right behind you following every footstep and holding your bags for you on one arm and the other empty for, probably any worst case scenario he can imagine.
When you see a sword shop out of the corner of your eyes, you smile and turn towards him: “Do you want to check it out?“
He glances at you, then at the shop, he seems to contemplate it, overthink it even; you let out a sigh and step towards the shop: “Come on“, you nudge him, “it‘s at least worth checking out.“ and nudge him into the shop.
You stand beside him, observing him fondly while he checks everything out in deep concentration and gets anything he needs; when you’re ready to check out and leave the store you notice a small dagger - perfect to replace the one that broke recently.
You test out its feeling around your grip and its secureness and smile to yourself in satisfaction - you’ll get this one.
What you fail to notice is your boyfriend staring at you in admiration - for someone so kind you were deadly when threatened - in fact it’s the reason he was so drawn to you in the first place. All you needed was two little daggers and no one stood a chance against you, your bubbly self would disappear and it would almost seem like you had been replaced with the best assassin to walk the earth.
When you glance back at him satisfied with your choice, your breath halts for a moment; the way Zoro was looking at you right now? It almost made your face flush in embarrassment, his eyes were filled with endearment, admiration and something else you can’t pinpoint right now - he always had a hard time vocalizing his feelings for you but he didn’t have to, you always knew how much he cared for you without saying anything.
You clear your throat in an attempt to dissipate the butterflies in your stomach and smile at him: “You got everything?”
He keeps staring at you mesmerized: “yeah, i got everything I need.”, your face flushes slightly and the butterflies you tried to dissipate earlier come back, he didn’t mean just his sword supplies - not with the way he was staring at you.
“Alright.”, you nod and make your way to the cash register and pay up.
Zoro is already outside, leaning against the wall, while waiting for you, when you get out he promptly gets up and walks beside you, he seems to contemplate something, you were about to ask if there’s anything else he wants to check out when grasps your hand. Your face flushes when his large calloused hand wraps around your smaller softer one and you grin brightly - the warmth inside you only growing bigger and bigger.
He looks away, his voice slightly hoarser than before: “I can’t risk getting lost.”, you raise an eyebrow in amusement, his blushing ears clearly betraying his actual thoughts.
“Sure.”, you smirk clearly unconvinced by his reasoning.
Now the both of you walk together, your hands intertwined and you hum happily looking for your next destination.
The both of you walk around more until it’s late in the evening; your feet hurt from walking around all day and you decide to finally go back to the ship.
“Zoro”, you pout, the sting getting worse and worse.
He sighs slightly then proceeds to let go of your hand before he kneels down in front of you: “Hop on.”
The warm feeling in your chest, once again, consumes you - god you love him - you get on his back and wrap your arms around him while he grabs the back of your thighs and picks you up.
Fondly you kiss his cheek: “Thanks, dear.”
He ‘hmphs’ slightly and grumbles: “you’re too light, do you even eat?”
“Y’know I always finish Sanji’s food”, you grin, “you just lift abnormal weights.”
He tenses up slightly when you mention Sanji: “Don’t mention his name.”
Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion, Sanji and him always fight but he usually didn’t react this badly at his name being mentioned; finally, it clicks in your head and you manage to connect the dots.
“Is this about this morning?”, you lean your head on his.
“I don’t like when he’s being close to you.”, he sighs.
You smile and hold him tighter: “I don’t care for him, in the same way I care for you. No amount of flirting from his side can change that.”
“It’s not that. I trust you, it’s just..”, he seems to gather his thoughts, trying to put them into words and you let him - he needs to realize just how important it is to let you in. His jaw tenses up and he clearly seems uncomfortable being vulnerable, even if it’s you he's talking to. “It just makes me think that I can never be as vocal as him; He doesn’t mind crappy love confessions or public affection.”
It takes you a few seconds to even process his words - was he insecure?
“Zoro”, you motion for him to let you go and you quickly step up before him, grasping his face, “I don’t want crappy love confessions or public affection or anything else, I want you.”
“Ok but what if me being me isn’t good enough at one point and you want to do better - you certainly can, if you want to.”, he looks at you, the uncertainty finally clear in his eyes and it pains you, leaves you wondering for how long he had been harboring such thoughts.
“No, fuck that, I don’t want better, because there is no better.”, you bite your lips slightly, “ for me? You’re the best pick, Zoro. I love you, the way you are and I want nothing more than for you to keep being yourself and it’s not going to change any time soon. You hear me?”, you hold his face once again and genuinely look at him, he needs to believe you, trust that you won’t leave him.
“I’m just being stupid, aren’t I?”, he smiles at you a little stunned.
You smile and shake your head: “No, not stupid. Human.”
He raises an eyebrow slightly at your choice of words but accepts it nonetheless. He kisses your forehead earnestly and once again kneels for you to get on his back.
You grin and hop on, hugging him tightly.
He clears his throat: “I love you, too, by the way.”, your grin brightens - and he says he isn’t the type for crappy love confessions.
Together you guys walk through the bustling town back to the ship, the warm sunset fitting the atmosphere inside your chest.

Sword Skills
You would’ve died if that green haired swordsman hadn’t stopped those men in the alleyway. They had cornered you, and suddenly he appeared out of nowhere to save you.
And then he was gone again, racing back the way he came.
“Hey! Let me repay you!” you shouted. “Please! You just saved my life!”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” the man said, still walking briskly away from you. “I just took out some trash.”
“Please!” you begged. “Let me repay you! I have a sushi restaurant, let me make you a meal!”
That made him stop. He looked back at you curiously. “Got any booze there?”
You nodded. “Please, let me try and repay my debt.”
He sighed dramatically, but he turned and walked to you. “Lead the way.”
Ten hours later, he was still sitting in your shop. You had closed down early and the two of you had exchanged stories and laughed the entire night away.
“It sounds like you have amazing adventures,” you said wistfully. “I wish I could do something that exciting.”
“Join our crew,” Zoro offered casually, taking another swig of alcohol.
You gave a dry laugh. “I couldn’t do that!”
“What’s keeping you here?”
You didn’t have an answer. You had no family, the job you worked was menial, and even the place you lived in was far too small for how much money you paid the owner. You had a few surface-level friends, but Zoro now knew more about you than any of your friends did.
“I can’t fight,” you admitted. “I wouldn’t have anything to offer the crew.”
“Yeah right,” Zoro scoffed. “You can make sushi. You can prepare drinks. You can do plenty of things.”
“But I’d be a liability in fights. Which happens a lot in the pirate world.”
Zoro’s eye twitched in irritation. “You don’t have to be strong to be on our crew you know.”
“But I don’t know anything! Did you forget earlier today?”
Zoro clicked his tongue in disapproval, but he had to admit you were right. “Fine. I’ll teach you.”
You scowled at him in confusion. “Teach me what?”
“How to fight. Let’s go pick some swords out tomorrow before we get on the ship.”
“I’m not carrying around three swords.”
Zoro chuckled. “You couldn’t handle three swords yet. I’ve trained my whole life for three swords. With you, we’ll start with one.”
You nodded in satisfaction, a smile on your lips. “My flat is just upstairs, if you want to stay the night.”
Zoro shrugged. “Probably better for me to stay. Don’t know how to find my way back to the ship otherwise.”
You were going to offer him the bed, but by the time you made it and went back out to the living room, he was already asleep on the couch.
The next afternoon, you were staring at a giant ship with a lion-sun figurehead.
“Ready?” Zoro asked. “You’ll just have to ask the captain, but Luffy is pretty accepting.”
You nodded, and the two of you walked onto the ship.
You instantly found Luffy, the man Zoro had said was the captain.
“Hi Luffy, I was wondering-”
“Who the hell are you?” the captain asked, looking at you with big, black eyes.. “Are you here to steal our stuff?”
You were taken aback by his question, and it took you a few moments to respond.
“Er..no. I was hoping-”
He cut you off again. “Awesome! That’s good. So, do you wanna join my crew? I’m going to be the King of the Pirates!”
He was direct, you had to give him that.
“I would, actually. If that’s alright with you.”
Luffy broke into a wide grin. “Awesome! Nami and Robin will be excited to have another girl on the ship! Welcome aboard!”
And then he wandered off, as if nothing had happened.
“Told you it’d be easy.” Zoro had a knowing smirk on his face. “Ready for your first lesson?”
“I suppose.”
“Alright then,” he said. “Raise your sword.”
You tried. You had to grip it with two hands, and it was surprisingly more heavy than you anticipated when you swung it.
“The weight distribution always surprises people,” Zoro explained. He walked over to you, slightly adjusting your grip and your stance.
“There, try that.” He took a step away from you. “Give it a few swings.”
You swung a few times. You had to admit, this stance was easier, but it was still extremely draining.
“We’ll work up to a real sword. The next time you touch this, it’ll be a thousand times easier. But remember that feeling. Remember that struggle.”
And then he swapped your real sword for a fake, wooden sword that was much easier to swing.
He trained you hard, but he also made sure you understood why you were doing certain exercises. He explained what muscles you were working, showed you what moves you would be able to do, and always gave the reasoning as to why a workout was important.
He was good at this, explaining how things worked and why muscles need to be built. He worked you hard; only stopping when you collapsed with bruises littered across your body.
But he carried you back to bed every night. And eventually, he started carrying you back to his bed every night. The two of you would sleep intertwined, bruises and cuts intermingling with one another.
Some nights, he gave you another kind of workout, the two of you training all night long and sleeping all day. It was a trade off you were happy to do, though you often ended the night with far more bruises than you started with.
Other night, he whispered sweet nothings into your ear, caressing your body as if it was the most delicate thing he had ever seen. This was the duality of Roronoa Zoro, and you loved that you were able to see both sides of him like this.
After a month of various training exercises, he handed you back your sword.
You were hesitant to take it. You didn’t feel ready. You were still the same girl who would get beaten in an alleyway, weren’t you? Surely you couldn’t have progressed that much. But you could see the confidence in Zoro’s eyes, urging you on.
You grabbed the hilt and swiftly pulled out the sword, ready to start your next phase of training.

Creep (Zoro Version)
Click for Sanji [x] Luffy [x] Law [x] Kid [x] Click for Ao3 here [x]
Summary: One night, the crew decided to visit a local bar to drink and party. But beside music, booze and food, y/n meets a creepy dude with too much confident. Luckily, Zoro is there to safe the night. Pronouns: he/him cw: creepy dude, unwanted flirt,
As a newcomer to the crew, y/n was still trying to find his place. He was excited to be part of such an amazing group of people, but he also felt like he didn't quite fit in. The rest of the crew had been together for so long, and sometimes he felt like an outsider looking in.
One night, the crew decided to visit a local bar to drink and party. y/n was excited at the prospect of letting off some steam, he had always enjoyed a good bar. Drinking, laughing, and talking with old and new friends and meeting new people had always been one of his favorite pastimes. The bar was crowded, and the atmosphere was rowdy. People were drinking and dancing, and the noise level was almost deafening.
At first, y/n tried his best to fit in. He talked to some townsfolk, danced with Chopper, but as the night went on, he found himself getting more and more uncomfortable. To calm his nerves, he went to the bar counter and sat there for a beer, or two. But the feeling of being watched didn’t go away, and he started to feel like he was being targeted, singled out by one of the other patrons.
As he sat there at the bar, sipping on a drink, a man approached him. At first, the man seemed friendly, but the longer they talked, the more y/n realized that he was being hit on. The man was making suggestive comments and invading y/n‘s personal space, he started to feel anxious.
y/n didn't know what to do. He felt trapped, and he didn't want to cause a scene. No matter how much he tried to politely excuse himself and to leave, the men in front of him roped him back up in the conversation. Looking for a way out or help, he looked around in the bar. y/n noticed Zoro watching him from across the room, and he felt a sense of relief. Even tho he was new on the Crew it felt like Zoro looked out for him and as their gaze meet, it seemed Zoro understand him and how unconformable y/n felt.
Then, as if on a cue of now or never, the man at the bar leaned in to kiss y/n. y/n froze, not knowing what to do. But Zoro rushed over, grabbing the man by the collar and pulling him away from y/n .
"You need to back off!" Zoro growled, his eyes flashing with anger.
The man stumbled back, staring at Zoro in surprise.
"What the hell, man? I was just trying to have a little fun."
Zoro glared at him, his fists clenched at his sides.
"Leave him alone," he said, his voice low and menacing.
The man looked from Zoro to y/n, then shook his head and walked away, mumbling some insults but knowing better as to start a direct fight with the green haired man.
y/n let out a breath he didn't realize he had been holding. He looked over at Zoro, feeling a rush of gratitude.
"Thanks," he said, his voice shaking a little but a smile on his lips.
Zoro shrugged, suddenly looking uncomfortable.
"No problem," he muttered, avoiding y/n‘s gaze.
But y/n could tell that Zoro was happy to have been able to help. At that moment, he felt a sense of kinship with Zoro that he hadn’t felt before. “You should join me at the table, it’s easier to keep the creeps away..” Surprised, y/n nodded and followed Zoro to the table the swordsman had sat earlier. They didn’t talk much, but they didn’t need to. Usopp talked a lot, told stories about their Adventures to every patron, who was willing - or unwilling- to listen. Nami ripped off a handful of people at poker, though y/n had a feeling that Robin played her part in Nami's success one way or another. When Luffy didn’t eat, he danced and sang with Chopper and Franky, while Sanji flirted with every beautiful woman he saw- tho Sanji seemed less creepy as the men y/n meet at the bar, accepting a no and just moving on to flirt with the next.
The night at the bar continued, and y/n had a great time. He realized that he wasn't an outsider, he was part of a family. A family of pirates who would do anything to protect one of their own, they just show their love differently than he is used to.
As they left the bar, y/n walked over to Zoro and put a hand on his shoulder.
"Thanks," he said again, his voice a little more confident this time.
Zoro looked at him and smiled, a tiny smile that showed how much he had come to care for y/n.
"No problem," he said. "You're one of us."

"Bet you won't do it."
Usopp's head snaps up from his drink, his eyes moving to glance at Zoro.
"What are you talking about?"
"Come on man, you've been staring all night."
A small blush creeped into Usopp's cheeks at the sword masters words. Was it really that obvious? Usopp's eyes made their way back to you watching as you danced with Nami. You were smiling wide as you swayed to the music. The sight made Usopp's heart skip a beat. The sharpshooter had always had a small crush on you but he never acted on his feelings, far too scared to do something and risk your friendship. Despite his lack of action it was pretty clear he had a thing for you. Anyone who paid the smallest bit of attention could see it. You were the only one who didn’t seem to notice it.
Not that it was your fault. You weren’t used to guys beating around the bush. When someone was interested in you they made it quite clear. It annoyed you a bit but it also made things easier. You weren’t exactly great with feelings, especially not romantic ones. You’d never really felt desire for anyone, far too preoccupied with staying alive to care about something like love. Yet since you joined the strawhats you found yourself being drawn to Usopp. You liked listening to his fantastical tales, even if they weren’t true it made you feel a sense of adventure. It was why you’d joined the crew in the first place. You’d gotten sick of waiting tables as the baratie and decided to tag along with Sanji. You hadn't planned on sticking around for long but the longer you stayed with the crew the less you saw yourself leaving.
Your eyes scan the crowd around you, searching for your friends. Luffy is sitting at a table scarfing down the third plate of the evening, Sanji is off to the side of the bar flirting with some blonde he'd met, Zoro was leaning over the counter talking to the bartender, Usopp stood beside Zoro. You smiled at the boy, gesturing with your hand for him to join you. Usopp raised his glass towards you, silently telling you he couldn't join you because of the drink in his hand. Zoro noticed the exchange, reaching over and grabbing Usopp's drink from his hand before gulping it down.
"What the hell Zoro!"
"Stop making excuses and go over there.”
You watched Zoro shove Usopp in your direction. The sharpshooter stumbled forward, not having been prepared for the sudden movement. You let out a laugh, turning to tell Nami about it. Except that she was nowhere to be found. Oh well she can handle herself. Usopp shuffled his way through the crowd making his way to you. Once he was close enough you grabbed his hand and tugged him over.
"Hey."
“Hi, quite the trip you’ve had.”
“Did you see the monster I had to fight on my way over?”
You shook your head slightly giggling at the boy's exaggerations.
“You're very brave Usopp. Thanks for coming to save me.”
“You’re welcome princess.”
Your body warmed at the nickname. How could something so small get such a reaction out of you? Usopp seemed to notice the shift in the atmosphere, his hands going to rest on your arms.
“You okay?”
“Yeah i’m fine i just-”
Music started to blare, making you stop in your tracks. Your eyes widened at the familiar sound.
“Oh my god! I love this song! Dance with me Usopp.”
“Oh I'm not really the danci-woah!”
Before he could give you some lame excuse you dragged him into the center of the dance floor, a bright smile on your face. You started moving to the rhythm of the music, closing your eyes as you did. Usopp observed you in awe. The way your body swayed to the beat, face completely blissed out, made his body twitch. You looked like an angel. You snapped your eyes open feeling the weight of Usopp's gaze on you.
“This is a dance floor that means you have to, you know, dance!”
“I’m not a good dancer.”
“So what? No ones looking anyway.”
That was true. Everyone around you was far too into their own thing to care about you and Usopp but it didn’t really calm him. You were watching and that was enough to make him nervous.
“Here I'll help you out.”
You took his hands into your own, placing them on your hips. Usopp's fingers twitched around your waist, his arms stiff as he waited for your next move.
“Jes Usopp, loosen up! I won’t bite.”
Usopp gave you a sideways smile, his body relaxing a bit at your words.
“There you go. Much better.”
You started moving side to side slowly, allowing Usopp to get used to the motion before quickening your movements. He seemed to catch on pretty quickly, his body following the flow of the music in a matter of seconds.
“See you’re a natural!”
“Nah, I just have a good teacher.”
You smiled, biting the corner of your lip. Usopp's eyes dropped to your mouth for a brief second before moving to stare at the place where his hands rested on your body. You followed his gaze, staring at the muscles on his arms. The small amount of liquor in your system was making you bolder than normal. You inched yourself closer to Usopp, your hands resting on his chest. He raised his head to look at you, his lips parting slightly. The song changed suddenly, switching to a more sensual rhythm. You’d have to remember to leave the DJ a tip when you left. You turned your body around so that your back was pressed up against Usopp's chest.
“Uh, what are you doing?”
“Shh, just go with it.”
Your hips moved with the music, slow and steady, causing you to grind against the sharpshooter. You heard Usopp take a deep breath in, the grip on your waist tightening. He called out your name, making you turn your head to look at him.
“What is it?”
You knew exactly what you were doing. You'd wanted this for a while now but had never found a good time. I mean what better place to seduce someone than at a bar? Usopp lowered his mouth to your ear, his hot breath fanning over your bare skin.
“Let’s go somewhere more private.”
“Lead the way Captain Usopp.”
As soon as you arrived on the ship Usopp's hands were on you. He wrapped his arms around your waist, tugging you as close as possible before capturing your mouth in his. You’d expected Usopp to be sweet and gentle when it came to stuff like this but there was a hunger in him you hadn't seen before. It’s safe to say you enjoyed it. You wrapped your arms around his neck, using his body as leverage to lift your body up. Usopp understood what you wanted, his strong arms moving to cup your thighs so that you could wrap your legs around his waist. You groaned at the feeling of his hard on against your clothed cunt.
“Usopp…”
“Yeah princess, what do you want?”
“Too much clothing. Take it off.”
Usopp walked over to a nearby table placing you on top of it before moving back to remove his clothes. He started off with his shirt unbuttoning it to reveal the taut muscles underneath. You practically drooled at the sight. You’d become used to seeing the other boys on the crew shirtless but you often forget that beneath his clothes Usopp hid a great physic. You placed your hands between your thighs leaning forward on the table to get a better look. The position of your arms caused your breasts to be squashed together, the low cut top you were wearing doing nothing to hide them. Ussops stopped moving at the sight, the hand that had been working on his shirt stopping in mid air. You frowned at him for a moment before realizing what he was staring at. A small smirk made its way onto your face, body leaning even farther forward.
“Like what you see?”
Usopp moved forward with his hands outstretched.
“Can i?”
He looked up at you shyly.
“What do you want, baby?”
“Can I touch them?”
“Of course you can, darling.”
That was all he needed. Usopp's large hands found  their way to your breasts, cupping them gently. He gave them a squeeze making you moan out. The sound of your moans drove Usopp crazy. He repeated his actions, his dick aching against his pants as you whimpered his name. He pulled down your top in one harsh tug, lowering his head so that he could suck on your nipples. You placed your hands behind you, allowing Usopp easier access to your breasts. He pushed your body backwards forcing you to lay down on the table. Your legs widened instinctively, allowing the sharpshooter to slot himself between them with ease. He grinded against you as he sucked your nipples, his hands massaging your stomach gently.
“So pretty for me.”
“For you huh?”
“I uh- i mean not for me… i don’t own you or anything i just meant-”
“Usopp.”
“Yeah?”
“Just shut up and make me feel good.”
“Yeah okay.”
Usopp's hands moved down to your clothed cunt tugging your shorts down before throwing them over his shoulder. You started to laugh but it quickly turned into a moan when Usopp began playing with your folds. You grind your hips against his fingers reveling in the feeling of his hands on you.
“That's it-uh- good boy.”
Ussop groaned at your praise, his free hand going to tug at his crotch. You noticed his movements moving to lean on your shoulders.
“I thought I told you to take those off.”
Usopp looked down at you and then at his pants.
“How are you expecting to fuck me with your pants on.”
You grinned as you said the words, enjoying the pant you got out of the boy.
“Can you help me?”
“Of course baby.”
You moved to sit up, your hands finding Usopp's belt and beginning to relieve him of his bottoms. Usopp kept fingering you as you worked on his clothes, his face dropping to your neck so he could leave a trail of kisses down your shoulder blade. Once you managed to unbutton Usopp's pants you reached into his boxers and cupped his dick in your hand.
“Ah princess…”
“Feel good?”
“Yeah-fuck-so good.”
“Wait until you’re inside me.”
Your words seemed to make everything real. Usopp had dreamt about this moment so many times. He’d woken up in the morning, his boxers stiff with his cum and his body itching for the feeling of you. And now here he was: your hands wrapped around his dick as he got you off with his fingers. Your walls clenched around Usopp's fingers signaling to him that you were close. If that wasn’t enough your random babbling made it very clear.
“Baby… I'm close.”
“Cum for me princess. Coat me with it.”
“You talk about it lik-ugh ah-like its a…uh…gift.”
“Because it is. Anything you give me is a gift.”
The moment Usopp's words entered your ears you started cumming. Your body went limp falling onto Usopps as you soaked his finger in your juices. He held you close, helping you through your high. Once you’d recovered your motor functions you moved to tug on Ussops chin, placing a kiss on his lips before laying back down on the table.
“Your turn, pretty boy.”
You widen your legs allowing Usopp to have a clear view of you pussy. It was puffy from your last orgasm. You motioned with your index finger for Usopp to come closer and like the good boy he was he did as you asked. You watched him free his cock from its confines, gasping at the sight of it. It wasn’t an abnormal size but it was thick. Your walls fluttered at the idea of being filled again. Usopp's hands were gentle against you as he moved your legs off the table and onto his shoulders. You smiled gently at him causing him to give you his signature smirk.
“Should I put something on?”
“No it’s okay I'm on birth control. Fill me up all you like.”
You expected Usopp to ram into you. You’d been teasing him all night after all. But he didn’t. instead he sunk into you slowly, savoring the feeling of you around him.
“Shit Usopp….”
“Fuck you’re warm.”
Usopp leaned forward, tugging your body off the table so that he could wrap his arms around you. He moved slowly, softly fucking into you. It was tender and loving. His lips found your  face and he placed a kiss on your nose. You weren’t used to this. Most of your hookups had been just that. Hookups. Just meaningless sex. But this was different. This was real. You began to tear up, your eyes glossing over. The second Usopp noticed he stopped moving.
“Are you okay? Did I do something wrong?”
He began pulling out of you but you called out his name before he could.
“You didn’t do anything wrong.  I’m just not used to being treated like this. This is perfect. You’re perfect.”
Usopp cursed at your words. What kind of idiots had you been hooking up with before. What fools would get the opportunity to be with you like this and not treat you the way you deserved. He promised himself he would show you what it felt like to be loved. He placed a soft kiss on your lips, removing the sweaty hair from your forehead.
“I’m gonna go a little faster okay?”
“Okay.”
“Tell me if you want to stop.
“Usopp you don’t have to-”
“Promise me.”
You stared into his eyes, the eyes of a boy who’d been through so much pain and still found a way to be kind. A boy you were now releasing meant much more to you than you had expected.
“I promise.”
You spent the rest of the night pressed against Usopp's body, his hands working to bring you to places you’d never been before. When you woke up the next morning you found your body cuddled into Usopp's, his arms holding you close like he was scared of you drifting away in your sleep. You turned your body around nuzzling your face into the crook of his neck.
“Morning princes.”
“Morning Usopp.”
“Wanna get up?”
“No, let's just stay here a little longer.” “Whatever you want.”
If it was up to you you’d stay in Usopp's arms forever. Lucky for you he shared the sentiment.

I finally got to sit down and finish episode one, and i've got some thoughts!!
I think that introducing garp as a big player right from the get go is a really great idea. His presence at the execution made sense, and his dynamic with roger did well to help establish both of their characterisations
Roger's actor did a phenomenal job with the eerie laugh and his complete irreverance in the face of his own death. I love how he delivered the wealth fame power speech!
It was a bit surprising to me that they showed roger actually getting killed, but honestly i'm in total approval of this direction they're taking with the live action. I really like the more brutal approach, especially because oda's refusal to kill anyone outside of flashbacks pre-marineford is one of the biggest complaints i tend to hear from people. Seeing zoro dragging around the top half mr 7's corpse was so jarring, but it was a good choice
Ilia's perfrmance as alvida was absolutely amazing. I like that they changed her catchphrase from the most beautiful woman on the seas to the most powerful
Overall, i really like the different transitions between plot points, and how this episode set things up in future arcs. All the different things that go on in shells town feel so much more better interconnected than they did in the manga. I'll go into this more in another post, but like one example of what i'm talking about is how the reason zoro allowed himself to be tied to the post was because morgan threatened that if he didn't agree to it, he wouldn't be able to collect any more bounties from any marine bases. It also gives zoro mire of a reason to join luffy - he knows that at this point there's no eay he can continue being a bounty hunter now that morgan has it out for him. So how else is he going to meet other strong swordsmen? By joining a pirate crew of course.
The shanks flashback was awesome! His dynamic with luffy was really endearing, and again i do like that they didn't have higuma attack shanks. That's one thing that never really made sense to me in the manga - i get thst yoy don't have to solve everything with violence, but there's no reason for shanks not to have fought back against someone who was attacking him, even if he did know they couldn't possibly hurt him
Also on shanks' flashback - the scene where he found out luffy had eaten the devil fruit was AMAZING. What a fantastic idea to have little luffy framed in sunlight! And the utter heartbreak on shanks' face as he realizes that there's no way luffy will ever be able to have a normal life now...
Of course, we gotta mention the snippet of Binks' Sake we heard in the scene where shanks is stitching up luffy's cut. I recognized it instantly and it made me really emotional. Love all these little easter eggs they have for long time fans of the series. In addition to this there was alsp the cavendish, foxy, and bellamy wanted posters which we knew about from the trailer
Speaking of wanted posters - what a COOL way to introduce the other pirates!
Morgan going on his monologue about capturing kuro is SO funny know what's gonna happen on a few episodes. Oda played it a lot more subtle in the manga but i like that they came right out and said it here.
And while we're talking about foreshadowing, it was a fantastic idea to include the mr 7 fight in this season! I really hope we get a season 2, just sp we can get the payoff for this great setup.
I'm a little sad that we didn't get to see the luffy and koby hug that was shown in the behind the scenes video (i think that was the one?). I really hope that wasn't cut because i loved that little scene. Maybe it'll happen later in the season?
Buggy's introduction at the end of the episode was SO good. I loved his whole vibe, with him lounging so confidently in his chair, his creepy laugh, everything. I'm excited to see the next episode! They better not have cut chouchou out 😭

One drink at the bar.
That was all you promised Zoro, was one goddamn drink.
And here you were, four drinks in and almost leaning on the swordsman, laughing loudly at whatever joke he decided to crack.
His arm rested comfortably around your hip, his large hand cradling your hip bone, a warm thumb brushing over your clothed skin every once in a while. You waved off an irate Sanji, who huffed and puffed at you 'being manhandled by the ugliest runt to ever wander the Grand Line', which caused the green haired man to snap back, his grip on you tightening as he literally pulled you to him, your empty hand pressing against his chest to catch yourself.
Your face burned as you looked up at him, a childish retort falling away from your lips as he turned to stare back, his earrings slightly swaying at his head snapping to look down at you.
It went quiet in your head, your eyes seemingly locked together until Nami's voice shattered the stillness, her teasing tone ringing out,
"Geez, get a room already!"
Usopp and Brook let out a loud, "OooOoo!" which caused Zoro to glare at them before he grabbed your hand from his chest and began dragging you away, angry puffs of smoke seeming to rise from his head as you walked away from the now laughing group.
Zoro was murmuring to himself, dragging you to wherever his terrible sense of direction decided was best and surprisingly, you came out to the open blues, the Thousand Sunny resting peacefully at the dock. Gentle waves crashed into the shoreline, filling the air with calm, which you assumed was why Zoro came this way.
"Huh. I was definitely trying to get to the other bar," he muttered, clearly confused as his free hand scratched the top of his head.
Your mouth dropped open in utter surprise and shock, unable to believe the words that came out of his mouth.
"You mean the one that was BESIDE the one we were in?!"
He turned to you, an almost horrified shocked look on his face as he shouted back,
"It was BESIDE us?!"
You snapped back,
"YES, YOU FUCKING BROKEN LOGPOSE!"
He gave a sharp "Oi!" in response before taking you back the way you both came. You rolled your eyes with a loud groan and tightened your grip, glad you weren't so tipsy you couldn't walk or navigate easily.
"You never cease to amaze me, Zo," you commented lightly, throwing him a withering look over your shoulder to which he pouted the second you turned back, going back to muttering under his breath.
"You better not say anything," he bit out, causing you to raise an eyebrow at him before you laughed out,
"As if I need to. Everyone knows you'd get lost in a paper bag if you had the chance."
He stopped walking, pulling you towards him as he moved you to an alley, not too far from the first bar the rest of the crew was drinking dry.
Pressing your back against the brick building, he stared down at you, his cheeks tinted pink as he grumbled down at you,
"You don't know shit."
You laughed, realizing he was probably a little tipsy, at least enough to be so close to you. He always seemed to be nervous around you when he was sober, almost anxious whenever your hand brushed over his shoulder or his head when you passed him.
He was nothing like that now.
His hands rested on your shoulders, almost a little too tight as he asked,
"... why are you blushing?"
You chuckled weakly and rolled your eyes, giving him a cheeky look through thick lashes as your murmured softly,
"I don't know, maybe it's 'cause I've been thinking about something like this happening for a long time."
The second the words left you, you froze and a small squeak of embarrassment left you as you covered your face, unable to look at him.
Zoro choked on his breath, staring you down with a wide eye before his expression changed into an almost predatory one, sending shivers over your entire form.
Staring you down like a starved man, Zoro rose his eyebrow, a slow smirk washing over his face as he asked,
"You've wanted this for how long?"
Your face dropped, cheeks burning red at your accidental blubbering. You shook your head with a slightly nervous laugh, waving him away with a lazy hand as you responded,
"I don't know what you're talking about."
A heavy hand landed roughly on the wall behind your head, his bulky frame seeming to tower over you and cage you in. You froze, eyes wide as you stared up at him as he nearly purred out,
"If you think I'm going to play stupid, you're wrong."
A shaky breath left you as his other hand came up to cradle your cheek, a rough padded thumb brushing over your soft skin almost as if you'd shatter under his touch. Your eyes fell shut, your head tilting slightly to lean into his touch as your hands slowly moved up his chest.
Zoro sucked in a harsh breath, holding it as your gentle hands moved over his toned, scarred chest, his stomach twisting and flipping around as your fingers traced over his scar from Mihawk.
He didn't know why he felt so compelled to kiss you, but before he could question himself, he moved in and his lips were pressed against yours, his hand gliding from your face to grip your hair at the base of your head. He tilts your head back and his tongue runs along your lips, begging for entrance which you give willingly, pulling a low groan from the swordsman.
Your hands move up to the back of his neck, your fingers pressing into the base of his head and down his neck, pulling another sound of pleasure from Zoro as your magic digits pulled all the anxiety from his muscles. He pulled away to nip and suck at the side of your throat, your head falling back and you grunt in pain as your head hits rough brick.
Zoro pulled away to raise an eyebrow at you, smirking to himself before he murmured, "Stupid."
You couldn't even respond, his lips immediately returning to your neck and leaving small marks over your skin. One of his hands cradled the back of your head, keeping you from hitting brick again as his other hand gripped your ass, his thigh sliding between your legs and grinding up against your warmth. Zoro moaned against your skin, his breathing shaky as he groaned out,
"Gods, I can feel how soaked you are,"
Your breath hitched, eyes rolling back at the ecstatic feeling of pleasure running over you. You unconsciously humped against his leg slightly, moaning softly when he moved up into you.
"Desperate, aren't you?" He murmured in your ear before he easily flipped you around, your ass pressing into his very evident boner as he gently moved your hands to the rough brick.
Ripping your shirt off, he handed it to you and instructed you with a husky voice to hold it to the wall, keeping your palms from scratching and bruising. You stared at the fabric before staring up at him with wide eyes, trying not to freak out.
"Zo…. This was Nami's."
The swordsman's face fell, a look of fear crossing it as he stared at the ruined fabric, his lips pressing into a thin line before he finally shrugged and replied,
"Shit happens."
You went to reply but one of his hands snaked around your front, immediately shoving down the front of your yoga pants and cupping your sex. He groaned with a wide grin, his forehead resting against your shoulder as you gave a low moan, reveling in his touch.
Two of his fingers pressed over your soaked slit, his lips grinning against your skin at the sounds he pulled from you.
"I've barely touched you and you're already this soaked," he mumbles, pressing hot kisses to your skin as one finger traces around your clit. Once again you unconsciously move against him, your ass pressing into his clothed cock as one of his fingers finally slides into you.
Your mouth falls open, an almost silent plea for him not to stop leaving you which he happily obliged. He sucked a few more marks onto your skin, smirking to himself at the constellations he marred you with, a sense of pride filling him at the sounds that came from you. A second finger fell into you and you nearly came then and there, thankfully for his other hand that gently slapped over your mouth to keep you from being too loud.
"Tsk, come on princess, you know better," he purred in your ear, his ego growing three sizes at seeing your eyes roll back simply at his fingers.
He curled his fingers and you came, almost falling against him as your body twitched, one of your hands moving from the brick to grip around his forearm as much as you could to try and stop him.
You couldn't.
A high pitched whine fell from you as he kept going, feeling a strange pressure and you almost yelped at the sudden gush that came from you. Zoro pulled you tight to his chest, his breathing erratic and eye wide as he realized what he just made you do.
"Do that again," he demanded roughly, his pace picking up slightly as he pounded into you. It didn't take long, warmth gushing over his fingers and pulling a soft, breathy laugh from him. He finally stilled, two fingers still squished inside your now throbbing cunt and you were able to catch your breath, eyes opening to stare up at a very pleased looking Zoro.
"I want to make you do that over and over," he admitted with a sharky grin, slowly pulling his hand from your pants. He stared down at his soaked hand and gave a shaky sigh, eye closing as he licked your juices from his palm and fingers, your face burning bright red at the sight. When he was satisfied, he grinned down at you again and whispered,
"Let's go back to the ship."
You threw the ruined shirt back on and grunted softly at how it hung off your bra-covered chest. You hummed for a moment before daisy-duke tying it, the knot sitting in the middle of your breasts comfortably. You then looked up at him with a grin of your own, gripping his hand into yours as you leaned up into a quick kiss, your heart racing as he kissed you back feverishly.
He frowned when you pulled away, tugging you closer to him as you began to lead him back towards the ship.
"I think this time though, you should let me have a little taste," you teased, falling in step with him. Your words caused a fire to rage inside him, and he immediately threw you over his shoulder, ignoring your shout of indignation, and the second the Sunny was in view, he raced towards the ship.

In Another Life
Series: One Piece
Word Count: 5153
Rating: T
Pairing(s): ZoSan
A party at Mihawk's (or his desperate attempt to socialize his protege) takes a strange turn when Zoro hears a piano upstairs.
(I've also never written One Piece fic before. Please be gentle.)
Zoro never saw any point in the large, lavish parties.  Nobility or not, Zoro didn’t understand Mihawk’s appreciation to peacock himself.  And for what?  To show off?  To make connections that he’ll ultimately break?  Of course not.  Mihawk had a difference reason for this particular party.  Mihawk was to hold…a flesh auction of sorts.  Not for money or anything like that.  To see his young protégé finally not mope around their villa another summer.
“Do we have to do this, Mihawk?” Zoro whined as he went through yet another suit fitting, “Can’t I just sit this out?”
“No,” Mihawk stood his ground, watching the tailor’s hands work quickly, “You’re going.  Like it or not.”
“I’m leaning toward the not part.”
“Zoro,” Mihawk groaned, “How long has it been since you even knew what a woman looked like?”
“I’ve seen women before,” Zoro rolled his eyes, beyond irritated with him, “It’s not like I’m a stranger to people.”
“Then, why do you always act like it?” Mihawk asked, “Zoro’s too good to be around other people.  Zoro’s always going to be off by himself.  Zoro would rather be alone playing with his sword than having someone else play with it for him.”
“Can we not be disgusting?”
“Can you simply humor me for the night?” Mihawk ordered, “It’s not like I’m asking you for a vital organ, Zoro.  I’m asking you to actually socialize.  Locking yourself away isn’t good for you.”
“Do I not see you every day?” Zoro pointed out, jerking at the pin prick in his hip, “Ow!  What the hell?”
“I’m so sorry,” the tailor winced.
“Don’t make it a habit,” Zoro let it go.
“I’m serious, Zoro,” Mihawk insisted, “You need to be more socialized.  You’d be amazed at what a little elbow rubbing will get you.  Consider this another lesson.”
“You teach me in the ways of the blade,” Zoro reminded him, “I didn’t sign up for this.”
“Then, consider it a bonus,” Mihawk did his best to hold his composure, but the thought of running Zoro through with his own blade gave him much temptation.  But then, it dawned on him.  What had Zoro so antisocial.  But he needed to guide the conversation in the right direction, “Why do you refuse to make any connections?”
“I don’t need them,” Zoro blew him off, idly staring into the mirror in any other direction but his own eyes.
And that’s when all of Mihawk’s theories made sense, “Is this about Kuina?”
Zoro’s jaw tensed up at the mere mention of her name.  The last time he ever truly got close to someone.  His grief tightened up in his stomach.  And he shot a piercing glare at Mihawk, “You had no right.  You had no business bringing her into it.”
“So, it is a Kuina problem,” Mihawk shooed away the tailor and sat at the edge of Zoro’s bed.
And without hesitation, Zoro drew his blade from its sheathe.  Even when being poked and prodded at by the tailor, he wouldn’t be caught without it on him.  He held the tip of his blade in Mihawk’s face, “I said, you have no business speaking her name.  Drop it.”
“And what have I always told you?” Mihawk lowered Zoro’s blade, “Don’t draw your blade unless you intend to draw blood.  Calm yourself.”
Zoro wanted his blade to taste blood.  To let the iron fortify the blade even more.  But he conceded and returned his sword to its sheathe, “I stand by what I said.”
“As do I,” Mihawk assured him, “You will be there.  And for a change, you will be socialized.  Do we understand each other?”
“Please, Mihawk,” Zoro begged, “Don’t make me do this.”
“I’m not making you do anything,” Mihawk got up from the bed and started walking out, “I’m merely saying you’re going to be there.”
“Isn’t that the same thing?”
“I’m not putting bamboo splinters under your fingernails, Zoro,” Mihawk started walking out, “You’ll live.  It’s just one night.”
The moment the door closed, Zoro threw himself into his bed, hoping to get in a quick nap.  Yeah.  It’s just one night.  Easy for you to say.  You’re used to this garbage.  Hopefully, I’ll be able to get in a drink or two.  Or three.  The prospects of the evening started to sound a little better.  Mihawk usually does bring out the top shelf booze for this.  Maybe it won’t be so bad.  As long as he’s not lining them up for me, we should be fine.  Zoro stared up into the gilded ceiling.  Maybe tonight won’t be so bad.  And slowly, Zoro started to drift off.
But then, night fell over the palace.  And the staff were abuzz with party preparations, decorating, showering the palace in all the lavish furnishings and fabrics Mihawk insisted upon.  And of course, Mihawk oversaw everything.  From the colors, the textures in the drapery to the food left out for the guests to help themselves to, nothing would be put out without Mihawk’s seal of approval.  Which brought him to his next task.  Quite possibly the most important one he had.  Making sure his flight risk protégé didn’t prove himself a flight risk.  Alright, Zoro.  Where have you run off to?
Mihawk checked the gardens, the stables, the library, the study.  Zoro was nowhere to be found.  But then, he realized who exactly he had been looking for.  And the one place he failed to look.  Mihawk trudged upstairs and knocked on Zoro’s bedroom door.  And was met with silence.  I know you’re not napping at a time like this, Zoro.  At least you better not be.  Mihawk didn’t bother with the invitation and walked into Zoro’s bedroom.  Sure enough, still sleeping like a baby, Zoro continued to drool on himself, ever so slightly.
“Oh, Zoro,” Mihawk let out a heavy sigh of exasperation, “You’re lucky I don’t want you dead.  Get up.”
“Mmm…” Zoro rolled over, ignoring Mihawk entirely.
“You know,” Mihawk sat at the edge of the bed, “I have you mostly pegged as a flight risk.  But I should know better.  And truly, that’s on me.  Because why would you run from tonight’s party when you could simply sleep through it?”
“You’re letting me sleep through it?” Zoro mumbled into his pillow, “Thanks, Mihawk.  I knew you’d understand.”
“Zoro…” Mihawk growled, “If you’re not awake, alert, and fully dressed in the next hour, I am taking all of your swords and running them through different parts of your body. Do you understand?”
“Alright!” Zoro snapped, reluctantly rolling off his bed, “I’m up.  There.  Happy now?”
“Quite,” Mihawk praised, “Thank you.  Go on.  Your suit should be finished and in the closet.”
“Wonderful,” Zoro dragged himself toward his bathroom.  But he made a quick stop at his closet, noticing the garment bag hanging in it.
“You could’ve chosen any color under the rainbow,” Mihawk pointed out, “And yet, you decide to go with black.”
“It’s simple,” Zoro took the hanger and brought it with him, “Is that a problem?”
“Not what I would’ve chosen for you personally,” Mihawk shrugged, “If I had my say, it would’ve been a deep red.  It’d suit you.”
“Black is good, too,” Zoro brushed him off and shut the door behind him.
Mihawk rested his head on his knees, beyond done with Zoro’s reluctance.  It still seemed like yesterday this sad boy begged at his knee to teach him the ways of the blade.  Better than what anyone had ever taught him before.  And how irritating he was then.  But the fire in those sad eyes got to him.  And Mihawk couldn’t tell him no.  His raw talent was too good to just throw away.  It needed to be nurtured and cultivated into something great.  However, it was a shame Mihawk couldn’t do the same for Zoro’s personality.  At least, that was how Mihawk saw it.
“Zoro,” Mihawk leaned against Zoro’s bathroom door, grateful to hear the bathtub running, “If you need anything, come find me.”
“What about the house staff?” Zoro asked, already slipping into his bath water.
“They’re busy,” Mihawk insisted, “You find me directly.  Alright?”
“Fine,” Zoro shut his eyes again, doing his best not to fall back asleep.  But he knew sleep would elude him.  He had bigger things on his mind.  Why would Mihawk be so hellbent on me finding someone at this party?  Is he really getting that sick of me?  I thought we were good.  It’s not like he’s asking me for a kidney.  I guess I’ll suck it up for the night.  It’s just one night, right?  Unless I have to sit and deal with whoever ends up finding me tonight for the rest of my life.  Ugh…Just what I need.  I can’t just have a good night with some decent booze, can I?
As time passed, Mihawk took one last look at himself in the mirror, appreciating what he saw.  Because there’d be no way that at the very least Mihawk would go with a cold bed tonight.  However, this party wasn’t for him.  And as he walked down the hall, he kept his fingers crossed.  Please, Zoro.  Don’t tell me you went back to sleep.  Tell me you didn’t continue your nap in the bathtub.  Tell me you’re fully dressed and ready for this party.  Because I don’t think my heart can handle you still being in shambles.
“Zoro?” Mihawk didn’t even bother knocking.  He just walked right into Zoro’s bedroom.
Where Zoro had come out of the bathroom, doing his best to figure out how cufflinks worked, “You call for me?”
“Thank God,” Mihawk let out a sigh of relief, getting an eyeful of his prodigy.  Although, he couldn’t help himself, “What are you doing?”
“I’m trying to put these damn things on,” Zoro continued his struggle, “How does anyone put these on?”
“One cufflink at a time,” Mihawk took them away and pulled on Zoro’s sleeve, “Honestly, Zoro.  Have I not taught you better?”
“In a perfect world,” Zoro grumbled, “This shirt would’ve had buttons on it like I asked.”
“But,” Mihawk stood his ground, “I told them purposefully to leave the buttons off because of the cufflinks I got for you.”
“You didn’t get those for me,” Zoro pointed out, “You won them in a poker game.  That I watched you cheat at.”
“You get my point,” Mihawk hushed him, “Is this the kind of attitude I can expect tonight?  Because I’m not canceling.  There are already guests arriving.  And you’re not going to embarrass me.”
“Do forgive me,” Zoro rolled his eyes, still wanting no part of this.  Unless it had a proof on it.
“Zoro,” Mihawk begged, “Please.  At least try to have a good time tonight.”
“Fine,” Zoro caved, already with his eye on a good sake.
“Thank you,” Mihawk finished off his cufflinks, “Now, go downstairs.  Go meet a nice girl.  Call it a night.  Will that be so difficult for you?”
“Probably not,” Zoro walked out of the safety of his bedroom with a sword on one hip and two swords on the other.  Because he wasn’t going to leave without a little piece of Kuina on him.
Once he made it to the ballroom, Zoro established a nest.  Granted, he knew he wasn’t going to be at one of the tables in the back.  Oh, no.  That meant going unseen.  The head table was where he’d be.  That didn’t mean he couldn’t still make his nest.  He had a bottle of sake for the table and his favorite bottle opener.  Carefully, he ran his blade along the cork and started drinking.  Although, the sudden pop caught some attention.  Zoro knocked the bottom of the bottle on the table, tipped it toward the ceiling and got his first drink down.  Just a little something to take the edge off.  And he could tell right then and there.
This party would be his hell.
The last thing he wanted to do was sit and listen to Mihawk talk shop with the other nobility.  He didn’t care how their businesses were doing.  He didn’t care about their personal lives.  None of that interested him.  If the goal was for Mihawk to find a lovely young lady to keep Zoro warm for the evening, the bottle of sake was a much better place to look.  No one was even worth Zoro giving them a chance.  He just wanted to spend a little time alone.  However, at the height of the party, Mihawk wasn’t going to let him leave so easily.
“Where do you think you’re going?” Mihawk grabbed Zoro’s wrist.
“Bathroom,” Zoro brushed him off, “If that’s alright with you.”
“Fine,” Mihawk stopped him, “It’s funny, Zoro.  I haven’t seen you with anyone all night.  In fact, you’ve hardly strayed from my side.”
“Maybe you should’ve invited better guests,” Zoro played it off like he didn’t care, but he was bored out of his skull and he wanted nothing more than to…use the bathroom.  Yes.  The bathroom.  Just as he told Mihawk.
“Or better yet,” Mihawk growled, “Someone else should be a little more personable.  I asked you one thing, Zoro.  And I need you to come through on that.”
“So,” Zoro groaned, “Do I get to go to the bathroom or not?”
“Go,” Mihawk let him go, “Maybe you’ll sober up some.”
“Yeah,” Zoro walked away.  Wouldn’t that be a damn shame?  He couldn’t stand it anymore.  He wanted nothing more than to escape that party the second he stepped foot in it.  The ballroom was abuzz with activity, with people dancing, with people talking.  It was maddening.  And Zoro wanted nothing more than some peace.  And if he had to retreat to the bathroom to get that peace, then so be it.
However, on his way, the faint sound of a piano caught his attention.  The band played in the ballroom, but none of them had a piano.  It was oddly soothing.  The only room with a piano in it was the drawing room and it was a rarity anyone was ever in there.  Regardless, Zoro followed the sound.  Because anything was better than the overcrowded party in the ballroom and going back to Mihawk.  And someone had to have been playing it.  Zoro would finally socialize the way Mihawk wanted him to.  And then, Mihawk wouldn’t have a reason to throw a tantrum.
The closer Zoro got to the piano, the faster it played.  He just wanted Mihawk off his back.  But he kept a tight grip on his sword hilts.  Faster and faster, the piano played on.  Zoro couldn’t even recognize the song.  But once he got to the piano, no one was there.  Zoro scratched his head.  Where the hell was that coming from?  I know I heard a piano up here.  It’s right there.  So, who was playing it?  Regardless, Zoro knew there was someone up there.  There was someone who wandered away from the party.  And no doubt with Mihawk’s treasures in mind.  So, he drew his blade.
“Show yourself,” he called out to the empty room.  And yet, silence.  Zoro looked all around the piano.  Still nothing, “I said, show yourself!”
And yet, the still silence remained.  Zoro sat on the bench, still not sure where the music came from.  He put his fingers to the keys.  Where was it coming from?  Am I finally losing it?  There was a piano playing in here, right?  Clearly, there’s a piano.  But who was playing it?  Zoro let it go and rested his head on the keys, letting out a messy chord.  Whoever it was, at least I get some peace and quiet for a change.  I told you already, Mihawk.  This party was pointless.  I need the rest more than I need to socialize.  But just as Zoro sat back up, a sudden chill ran through his head.
“Soft…” a voice echoed through the mostly empty room.
“Who are you?” Zoro stood up and drew his blade, “Show yourself!”
“Soft…” the voice spoke again, “Like moss…”
“I said, show yourself!” Zoro spun his blade, waiting for someone to show up, “I won’t ask again.”
“I heard you the first time,” the voice moaned, “I can’t help it.  I’m shy.”
“Then, tell me who you are,” Zoro looked around for where the voice was coming from and yet…There was no one there.
“I guess it’d be rude of me not to talk to you face to face,” the voice finally took form on the piano.  A man, “You’re easily worked up, mosshead.  Did you know that?”
Zoro had seen a lot in his time.  But never did he see someone apparate out of thin air, “Where the fuck did you come from?!”
“Thank you for proving my point,” he laughed, “Like I said, you’re easily worked up.  And if I didn’t know any better, I’d think you just saw a ghost.”
“I…” Zoro blinked a couple times, still coming to grips with what he just saw, “I…Are you a ghost?”
“Unfortunately,” his incorporeal legs dangled over the edge of the piano, “I am sorry if I startled you.  But your piano was too pretty to pass up.  Do you live here?”
“Last time I checked,” Zoro backed away, “I’m almost positive there’s a priest downstairs.  You need to go.”
“No…” the ghost begged, “Please.  I don’t want to go yet.  I heard the party downstairs and…It’s been a long time since I’ve been to a good party.”
“Who are you?” Zoro asked, “There’s no way you’re just some random ghost that busted into Mihawk’s house like this.”
“Mihawk…Mihawk…” the ghost thought it over, “No.  Sorry.  Not ringing any bells.  But you think I could see?”
“See what?” Zoro scoffed, “Mihawk’s sham of a party?”
“Sham?” he wondered, “What makes it a sham, mosshead?”
“Would you quit calling me that?” Zoro rolled his eyes.
“And I’ll tell you mine if you’ll tell me yours,” the ghost laid on his stomach, his elbows up on the back of the piano, “Deal?”
“Why should I tell you my name?” Zoro argued, “I’m not the one who lured me up here.”
“Did you like it?” the ghost asked, “It got a little heavy toward its end, but someone was coming and I figured I’d get out as much as I could.”
“Not really my thing,” Zoro brushed him off, “It’s Zoro, by the way.  Roranoa Zoro.”
“Sounds like a mouthful,” the ghost rolled over to his back, “Tell you what.  If you bring me down to that party you say is downstairs, I’ll tell you my name.”
“That wasn’t our deal,” Zoro pointed out, “You said you’d tell me yours if I told you mine.”
“So, I’m renegotiating a little,” he shrugged, “Come on, Zoro.  Please?  I’ve been up here for a thousand years and I’d love to see a good party.”
“Have you really?” Zoro asked, “You’ve been a ghost for that long?”
“Not really,” he giggled under his breath, “I’ve only been like this for the last couple years.”
“And,” Zoro started to relax a bit more, sitting back down at the piano, “What happened?  If you don’t mind me asking.”
“I got stuck on a rock in the middle of the ocean,” he told him, “And I didn’t have anyone to come rescue me.  It was a long few months being out there, but now, I’m free.  I can come and go through here all I want.  And no one’s going to tell me no.”
“What if I told you no?” Zoro argued.
“But you won’t.  Do you know how I know that?”
‘How?”
“Because,” the ghost smiled, “You haven’t looked away from me for the last ten minutes.  If I didn’t know any better, I’d think you thought I was cute.”
“Please,” Zoro shook him off, “Why would I think that?”
“Because I am cute,” the ghost retaliated, “I mean…Come on, Zoro.  Look at me.”
“Yeah,” Zoro scoffed, “I’m sure you had all the ladies swoon over you in your living life.”
“You’d be amazed,” he got up from the piano, “Would you feel more comfortable if I was more tangible?”
“What do you mean?” Zoro looked at the ghost strangely, “You can do that?”
“Of course, I can,” the ghost’s translucency went away as he sat on the bench next to Zoro and held his hand, “See?  I’m just as solid as you are.  Truly, mosshead, I’m starting to think I’m the first ghost you ever met.”
“You wouldn’t be wrong,” Zoro got up from the bench and checked the liquor cabinet.  And came up short, “Damn…”
“What?”
“I was looking for a drink,” Zoro told him, “But it looks like I have to go downstairs for that.”
“And I could come with you,” the ghost insisted, doing a little spin, showing off his dark, pinstriped suit, “It’s not like I’m not dressed for the occasion.  Please?  I just want one party.”
Zoro wanted to go back to the party like he wanted to be shot in his foot.  But his curiosity got the better of him.  All he wanted was to know who haunted the halls of Mihawk’s mansion.  And if that meant him going back to the party, then so be it.  But that would come with some stipulations, “If we go down there, are other people going to be able to see you?”
“Just as much as you can see me now,” he nodded, “They’ll also be able to feel me, too.  I’ll be just as tangible as anyone else in the room.  They’ll have no idea I’m a ghost.”
“And,” Zoro went on, “What will you being at this party entail?”
“I just want to go to this party,” the ghost fell back over the piano, “Is that so much to ask?”
“It’s one of Mihawk’s parties,” Zoro grumbled under his breath, “So, yes.  It is.  Fine.  I’ll take you downstairs.”
“Wonderful!” he hopped down from the piano, “Let’s go!”
Zoro knew he’d live to regret this night, but if it meant him having Mihawk out of his hair, he’d be alright with it.  And so, the two went back downstairs to the ballroom where the hustle and bustle seemed to only get bigger.  Zoro rolled his eyes at the spectacle.  Great.  Just wonderful.  And yet, he looked over at the ghost, who couldn’t have been more thrilled to see such a beautiful ballroom.  The food, the string quartet, the people, the dancing.  It all completely swooned him.
“Zoro…” the ghost took his hand, “Thank you.  I don’t think you realize it, but this is the best gift you could’ve given me.”
And in that moment, there was a strange tug in Zoro’s chest.  One that he didn’t know was possible.  But it managed to force a smile onto his face, “You’re welcome.  I’m glad I could do this for you.”
“And I know it’s making you uncomfortable,” the ghost took his arm, “But really.  It’s not going unappreciated.”
“Don’t mention it,” Zoro shook him off, “I’m going to go get a drink.  Can you do that?”
“I can,” the ghost nodded, “If it’s not too much trouble, cabernet.”
“What the hell is cabernet?”
“Oh, dear, sweet Zoro,” the ghost teased him, “It’s the one in the pretty black bottle.  Probably with a red label.  Says cabernet on it.  Maybe even Cabernet Sauvignon.  You can read, can’t you?”
“Of course, I can read!” Zoro snapped, “And now that I’m thinking about it, I brought you to your party.  You still haven’t told me your name.”
“My memory’s a little fuzzy,” the ghost sighed out, “Maybe a little red will bring it to light.”
Great.  This one thinks he’s funny.  I’m keeping you away from the actual clown here.  Regardless of Zoro’s opinions, he was still a man on a mission.  And there was a beautiful bottle of sake sitting unattended on the top shelf.  And next to it were all of Mihawk’s wines.  Zoro skimmed through the labels, hoping to find one that said cabernet on it.  Fortunately, a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon sat on the shelf.  He let out a little sigh of relief as he poured a glass for his new…friend.  Or the ghost that seemed to attach himself to Zoro.  And he knew the rest of the night would be miserable, so Zoro just grabbed the sake bottle.
“Here,” Zoro sat at his spot at the table and put the wine in front of him, “I got your stupid wine.”
“Mm…” the ghost picked up his glass and meticulously studied his wine.
“What?” Zoro scoffed, “Afraid I poisoned it?  You’re already a ghost.  Why would I do that?”
“Because you’re a sadist?” the ghost assumed.
“I’m not a sadist,” Zoro took a heavy drink straight from the bottle.
“Fine, fine,” the ghost backed off, “But…I suppose I couldn’t trouble you for a dance, could I?”
“You said you wanted your party,” Zoro pointed out, “You didn’t say anything about me having to participate.”
“Please, Mossy?” the ghost begged, “If you dance with me, I’ll tell you my name.”
“Uh-huh,” Zoro rolled his eyes, “You also said you’d tell me your name if I brought you to this party.  And you’d tell me your name if I got you your wine.  Why should I believe you’ll tell me your name if I give you a dance?”
“Because,” the ghost rested his head on Zoro’s shoulder, “I asked nicely for that dance.  And I swear on my past life and my current one that I will tell you my name.  But you have to dance with me.”
Zoro hated his own curiosity.  But he wasn’t going to break.  Instead, he just got up from the table, “I’m going to go get some air.”
“Wait, Zoro,” the ghost called after him, “Don’t go.”
“Don’t follow me,” Zoro took the bottle with him, “I don’t need this party.  I don’t need the socializing like Mihawk said.  And I sure as hell don’t need to be jerked around by some fucking ghost.”
“Zoro…”
But Zoro was already gone.  Lost in the crowd.  He really did just need to get some air.  Something about the gardens were quite peaceful.  Zoro found himself under the gazebo and sat on the cold ground.  It’s just some damn ghost.  Why am I letting him get to me so much?  Zoro knew the reason.  Zoro knew exactly what it was.  And he hated himself for thinking it.  Because it meant proving Mihawk right.  It’s because it’s not her.  I would’ve thought if I had a ghost attached to me, it’d be Kuina.  Why?  Why does it have to be him?  I don’t even know what his name is.  Why is he getting to me this bad?
“Zoro…” a familiar voice floated through the air.
“I thought I told you not to follow me,” Zoro grumbled.
“I know,” the ghost sat with him, “Why’d you run off?”
“I had a lot on my mind,” Zoro kept cryptic, “I needed somewhere to make it all stop for a while.”
“If it was because of me,” the ghost took his hands, “I’m sorry.  I really don’t mean to jerk you around like that.  It’s just been a while since I had anyone do anything for me.  I liked it a little too much.”
“Oh,” Zoro let it go.  But there was a sense of peace in his thoughts again.  And the music drifted outside.  Zoro got back on his feet and offered the ghost his hand.
“What’s this for?”
“What else?” Zoro shrugged, “You did say you’d give me your name if I gave you a dance.”
“Oh?” the ghost managed to muster up a smile, “Alright.  But ask me properly.”
“What?” Zoro looked at him strangely, “What do you mean, ask you properly?  Do you want to dance or not?”
“Wow,” the ghost giggled a bit, “What a gentleman.  Hard to believe you haven’t been married off ten times over by now.”
“The sarcasm is not appreciated,” Zoro took the ghost’s hand and pulled him a little closer.
“Alright,” the ghost teased him, “I see someone’s not feeling shy anymore.”
“You’re pushing it.”
“Sorry, sorry,” the ghost reveled in the feeling of someone else’s touch.  And in Zoro’s movements, “Hey…Mossy…Can I ask you something?”
“What?” Zoro started to relax a little more, the sake finally hitting his bloodstream.
“Do you think…” the ghost nestled his head in Zoro’s shoulder, “Maybe we met in a past life?”
“I don’t know,” Zoro spun him around, “Maybe.  How do you think we met?”
“I don’t know,” the ghost thought it over, “Maybe we met on a boat.  A big boat.  With a restaurant on it.”
“Maybe we hated each other.”
“But maybe…We didn’t.”
“What?” Zoro wondered, “You think we were friends?”
“I think we were more than that,” the ghost admitted, “But you have your thoughts of our past life together and I’ll have mine.  We’ll close our eyes and pretend like both are real.”
“Who knows if our past lives together are real or not?” Zoro brushed it off, “But…We got tonight, don’t we?”
“Zoro…” the ghost awed, “That’s the sweetest thing you could’ve said to me.”
“Don’t read too much into it.” But Zoro couldn’t take his eyes off the ghost’s.  So deep, so beautiful…And his face so soft and gentle…And the ghost’s slender hips against his own…And he found his peace.
In the silence, the ghost couldn’t help himself.  He knew there was no way Zoro would make a move.  So, the ghost moved into Zoro’s face, barely an inch away.  And to his surprise, Zoro pulled the ghost in for a deep, sweet, and tender kiss.  One that put everything into alignment.  And everything would be ok.  When he pulled away, Zoro still couldn’t believe it happened.  On his list of things that could’ve happened that night, kissing a ghost in the garden was not on it.
“Zoro…” the ghost’s voice broke, “You…”
“Again,” Zoro blushed, “Don’t read too far into it.”
“Fine,” the ghost couldn’t stop smiling, “Do you really want to know what my name is that badly?”
“After that…” Zoro admitted, “I don’t even care anymore, Ghost.  Tell me.  Don’t tell me.  But…I wouldn’t say no if you wanted to do that again.”
“Well,” the ghost rocked back on his heels, “What if I wanted to?”
“Then,” Zoro thought, “I guess I’d have to prove you wrong.”
“What do you mean?”
Zoro pulled the ghost back in, his kiss getting deeper, his tongue finding its way into the ghost’s mouth, “I can be a gentleman if I want to be one.”
“Is that so?” the ghost melted inside, “Why couldn’t I have met you in my living life?”
“Because,” Zoro pointed out, “Then, I would’ve had to mourn you twice.”
“Zoro…” the ghost gave him one last little kiss, “My name is Sanji.”

Zoro rubbing Sanji's swollen stomach: our baby is going to be so strong just like their parents
Sanji: yeah they will but they'll have my good looks and your amazing taste in weaponry
Zoro: what about my good looks
Sanji: let's hope they don't have your sense of direction
That poor child. A sense of direction that bad has to be hereditary.

Gods au
Garp knew the last sun and sea god. In Ace's case he's the predecessor of Garp's life long rival but with Luffy the last sun god was Xebec, he noticed some similarities.
Luffy is more kill prone, any celestial he came across including doflamingo didn't stay alive for too long. Something he shared with Xebec.
With Ace both him and Roger have an amazing sense of direction on the sea, can sense seaking and even control them, and might as well be Zoro while on land.
Garp also knew the justice god before Dragon, the difference being that Dragon and the god before him only share the most basic qualities of being a god of justice.
The god before Dragon was apart of the navy and saw it as a necessary evil. Dragon doesn't have the patience for that.

One Piece Live Action Season 1 Stream of Consciousness (Spoilers):
This will be a suuuuper long post and will literally be a random string of thoughts and will probably make no sense as a lot will be without context. Maybe just random lines that I enjoy and random gifs that just showcase the random points I like but enjoy
Episode 1
I love this. I love that they didn’t make it the exact same. And having watched the anime, it just makes the subtle hints amazing and when they mention something that wasn’t brought up till later *chefs kiss*. Like they showed Zoro being recruited by Baroque Works when they didn’t even mention that till they were in the grand line I think.
And all of the small hints to the characters like when you saw Cabaji in the scene before he was actually introduced. That’s one of my favorite types of foreshadowing.
Luffy supporting Koby’s dream will always be awesome. And Luffy comforting Koby after see the bad marines is so kind of him. I love him.
The casting is perfect. Luffy. Zoro. Nami.
Nami is me. Everything goes wrong “This is fine.”
OH MY GOD!! Buggy!!
Tumblr media
Episode 2
Buggy is just a great performer!
This is gonna get repetitive I know, but they are all such amazing actors and actresses!!
“Cut you down to size.” 😂😂
SHANKS!!!
Tumblr media
Episode 3
“Stupid clown” Zoro’s hate of Buggy is hilarious
Tumblr media
Already the crew (“not a crew”) are supporting Luffy’s whims haha
“Fans have gotten so toxic” I love this characterization of Buggy
I’m liking how this is a little darker than the anime was. And I love how they are introducing bounty characters. It’s so cool!
Zoro gets thrown in the well 😂😂 And Koby popping up at the end like that was very cool. Love the music they play throughout everything. It’s really making the show better
Episode 4
Zoro is my favorite. He already was in the anime, but it’s definitely true for the live action as well 🥰
Tumblr media
MURDER MANSION!!!
Zoro’s lack of direction sense has finally been shown!
The grandpa revel being much earlier in this version 😂😂😂
Episode 5
“You just call that guy grandpa?” Oh Zoro, just wait for it 😭😭 and then his “talk” with Luffy after the fight.
Luffy sniffing his way to the good!!
Omg! This Sanji has so much class and the immediate jokes the rest pull on Nami after he leaves 😂 I feel bad for those who haven’t watched the anime. They are gonna think Sanji is this slick cool character (and he is) but they are gonna realize he isn’t that… smooth. But look at him… I forgive him and support all his decisions
Tumblr media
Mihawk is just so bored. “You woke me from my nap”
Tumblr media
Koby is playing a much bigger part than I thought he was gonna. And standing up to Garp like that.
Mihawk “though I do like your hat” 😍 I love this man!
Episode 6
Luffy just wants Zoro to get better 😌
Poor baby Sanji screaming for the ship
And again with the foreshadowing with the story of Mont Blanc Noland
They really have changed the way this goes. Arming came to them and Don Krieg died by Mihawk earlier. Not too mad about it though. I think it flows better with the way they made the show. Like I said it’s a little darker and I’m liking it. It’s different but a good different.
Also yum! lookie! Very respectfully of course but still
Tumblr media
And there Zoro is being a great first mate vowing to stand by Luffy’s side!!! Done differently but still so beautiful! Tears!!!
Tumblr media
Zoro: “Why are we bringing the waiter?” Usopp: “Cause we can’t boil water” 😂😂 Zoro so much happened while you were asleep
Luffy just pulls out Buggy’s head for a bag!!
Episode 7
The chains in Nani’s map room… this is gonna be sad
Nami is trying so hard to mean all the mean things. I’m gonna cry just like when I watch the anime. I just know it.
Zoro’s constant side eye of Sanji is awesome and very in character
Oh lovely. I somehow didn’t realize I would have to watch all the sad things in another format. It didn’t really connect that
And Zoro being first mate again. That’s always gonna be my favorite thing. Even when it’s for sad moments
Nami’s screams… that was so real and heart wrenching and that “help me” scene was so on point. The one scene that was practically the same and it was the one that causes tears 🥲
Episode 8
The blood and chains and pain little Nami had to go through
“Finally I get to cut something” Zoro is so done with emotions 😂 he just wants to do what he does best
So I’ve thought this from the first time I watched Arlong, but why would he think a revolution started from the “weakest” sea have any traction. I get “plot” reasons, but still….
“Round Two, Arlong.” Yes Luffy! Go!
Buggy! That was so funny! I love this Buggy!!
Tumblr media
And Zoro’s immediate response “Fucking clown” 😂😂😂😂 I love this so much y’all
Go Usopp!!! “No one’s around to see it. It’s okay. They’ll believe me” loved it the first time I saw it, love it now too.
Sanji gets kicked backwards and Zoro just casually walks out of the way and around him. I’m so glad they are still the same Zoro and Sanji as ever 😭
Sanji says that all the best fighters call out their finishing moves and Zoro immediately gets flashbacks to Luffy saying the exact same thing!!
The Garp and Luffy confrontation!!!
“Be a good Marine.” “Be a good Pirate.” Love them.
Tumblr media
The barrel scene!!! Yes!!!
And the sneak peak at Smoker!!
I absolutely loved this!!! I need a full adaptation of the entire show and I need them to keep the same cast for them all!!

Hi!! <3 I'm @beanghostprincess (this is just my main acc) and I think you're one of the few people I've seen who don't like OPLA and honestly? Props to you for saying it out loud because I think people are just so protective over the live-action I never feel like I can talk freely and honestly about my real opinion on the show. So, if you don't mind, I'm just gonna drop here the biggest fucking text ever about it. You don't need to reply if you don't feel like it, but I'm so glad to have found people who probably feel the same way as me about OPLA.
I liked the live-action as in a "the cast is amazing and it was enjoyable to watch" way, but aside from that? The whole thing is just weird to me. I hate the direction, first and foremost. Most of the scenes lack emotion and proper stage indications and the shots are just... Not it. They use too many close-ups (for some reason I do not understand yet when the backgrounds they use are stunning and they could've used that to their advantage a lot) and insisted on referencing the "comic/manga style" the anime does when putting different shots of people on the screen when it doesn't look that good in a live-action if you don't do it properly (it could've been nice if the shots weren't always fucking close-ups. I'm a hater. I'm sorry). Besides, what's with the fisheye lens shots with blurry edges? It bothers me so much. And if I keep complaining about the direction and producing I might probably never finish, but I think a lot of scenes needed way more emotion and it's not only about the actors. They're great and they did a good job, but you can't expect them to carry everything on their backs and I think OPLA needed more indications in some scenes.
Leaving that behind, a lot of people keep saying that the changes they made in the plot are good because an adaptation doesn't have to be exactly like in the anime, because then it would be the same and the cool thing about adaptations is choosing the best parts to make people interested in the story and make them watch the original. And even though I sort of agree with this statement, the changes they made were utterly stupid even for a stand-alone show. I have different complaints about the characters (not Buggy, though, OPLA Buggy my beloved. And also Sanji, because I think they did it great with Taz and Zeff. Nothing to say there) but to summarize:
They ruined Nami's story and character. And it's not even because of the differences between OPLA and the manga, it's because it doesn't make any sense within the show itself. She grows too attached to the crew way too fast despite her personality and resilience to make friends. For some reason, she has a ton of scenes with Zoro that could've been used for a lot of character development and friendship within the crew as a whole or just between Nami and Luffy (which are the main focus in Arlong Park). Her decisions are rushed and don't make any sense with her character most of the time. The fact that she was the one to approach Arlong first but then she's seen as a prisoner instead of an ally is just stupid as a whole. The fact that Nojiko hates her only to make more drama happen seems irrational and unnecessary to me, honestly. And the fact that Luffy hears her story? When the whole point is that he doesn't want to hear it? It drives me insane in the worst way.
That being said, now that I mention Luffy: He's wayyyy too vocal here, I think. Like, I'm glad we can see more of his POV but I think the fun about Luffy's character is that you can read between the lines of his character and just get what he wants to say with actions instead of just words. I get that he's very direct and blunt most of the time in canon too, but when it comes to Nami? They don't need words. So the whole "Nami getting mad at him for letting Zoro be hurt and saying verbally that not everyone gets to achieve their dreams" (which, again, doesn't make sense for her character and it's unnecessary) and "Luffy telling her explicitly to rely on them" (when, for Luffy's empathetic personality that adapts to what other people need, doesn't make sense because he'd choose a subtler and active approach instead of a verbal one). And in general, I think Luffy (even though I love Iñaki. Iñaki my beloved- This is a script thing and has nothing to do with him) needed more action and less talking. More physical communication. Less close-up shots for God's sake-
Usopp is only used as a comedy relief character and literally does nothing in his own fucking arc. So. Yeah. Whatever. I keep saying I'm not mad but as an Usopp fan I am indeed very mad.
Sanji is perfect. Mwah, mwah. My only complaint is that they could have used better takes when he talks about the All Blue to Luffy and do it in a place where he can look at the sea instead of being in the kitchen. But well, perhaps you can use it as a metaphor about him feeling trapped or whatever. I honestly think it would've looked better with more beautiful shots but meh, it's just a lil thing and I don't mind.
Then Zoro. A lot of people have complained about Mackenyu not giving the same silly energy Zoro has pre-time skip. And even though I agree wholeheartedly, I think he has the capacity to be like that and the main issue here is the lack of indications. I think that, if they had worked on his scenes a bit more, it would have been more in character. I have a lot of issues about the staging in the scene where he promises Luffy to never lose again, but perhaps that's just me and my silly little complaints.
I know they used the marines to make the show more interesting and have a main villain but it literally led them NOWHERE in the end. Not complaining about Kobymeppo because I enjoyed their scenes an insane amount and they're definitely a highlight of the live-action, however, most of the scenes they use for the marines could've been used to make the crew grow closer and make their personalities more accurate.
And etc, etc, etc. I have more things to say but damn this is long af and I don't want you to spend an hour reading my opinion on OPLA. I'm just glad to see I'm not the only one who didn't like the show much. It's good for the vibes and the actors but the show itself has a weird pacing and the characters are portrayed in a very rushed and artificial way, if you know what I mean. Idk.
Sorry for the long text </3
No I want this I want to spend an hour reading your opla opinions. I MADE this blog specifically for people to infodump back and forth with me. this is my intent.
you articulated almost exactly why i dont like opla too, i pride myself in being a pleasant person to interact with even if youre an opla fan but you know as an opla hater you're seen as That Guy and want to avoid being That Guy? Despite my smoke and mirrors, I am that guy.
if you mention to me that you enjoy any aspect of namis writing in opla i... try to be understanding? its really hard for me because namis writing in opla sends me into a rage filled fugue state. i also never ever just personally would ever want to interact with someone who thought that legitimately, it sounds like a nightmare.
i also have similar feelings on usopp (i think the way they treated him was weirdly racially charged? im white so i cant speak on this fully but the way he was adapted was certainly imo to the same level of bad as nami)
nami is just also a character who i hold really fucking close to my heart for a lot of reasons because i share a lot of experiences with her i feel i can articulate fully why her treatment in OPLA is so bad.
i say this all with the sentiment that i love all of the actors because i feel like they were playing deliberately to make up for the bad writing
(minus emily rudd who i will not sugarcoat this has the worst performance out of all of them which i dont think is her fault- inaki doesnt do as well at luffy as id like him to but when the luffy writing is in character in episode 6 only he does actually do very well. i just think the script is never ever on her side ever.)
So zoro and nami scenes. a friend of mine had a similar question to yours and i responded with "they didnt have the suicide-attempt flirting scene in this version and they felt they had to make up for it" but ill elaborate a little more here. in arlong park, that scene (and also scenes in previous arcs with zoro and nami bickering) and also sanjis scenes with nami in the baratie set up both zoro and sanji as people who like and respect nami.
ideologically, within the context of op itself the way they treat nami post her lashing out is affected by this, zoro respects her enough to see her as a threat (its more complicated than that but to simplify) and sanji views her as a complicated human being because of his own experiences and assumes the best of her. we all know this why am i repeating it? well OPLA fucks it up. it sets up zoro and namis relationship fine, which ultimately doesnt pay off in the end with this conflict because its essentially nonexistent within opla and is seen as "nami was OUR friend first" which is ... the fact matt owens thinks this is how this should go tells you a lot.
deep breathe in
speaking of which.
so i didnt notice this first time around to the degree i notice it now so i dont blame you but the sanji writing in opla is . quite bad (it just looks very pretty coming out of taz' mouth and also next to the absolute dogshit way the other characters were treated in comparison). the worst of it i think is his relationship with other characters specifically nami oh god christ they butchered that relationship so much.
i dont need to tell you why OPLAs sexual harassment joke played for feminism is bad. you know why its bad. but i think the way i previously thought of it as "namis writing being bad" is somewhat incorrect.
if you write sanji as unambiguously part of a sexual harassment joke thats bad sanji writing. (if you think the original jokes in op proper were sexual harassment jokes you can at least admit to them mostly being ambiguous and if they were it was never directed at nami, who fully was in control of sanji)
but it was confirmed in an interview that one of the showrunners of opla itself did an interview pre release to say that quote "sanji is going to be less of a simp" (simp has an entire history of sexist usage i do not think he was just using it because its popular slang now) which means at least one of the directors thought the issue with sanji is that he was being emasculated by nami.
and because he didn't want sanji to be emasculated, within the context of opla sanji does not treat nami preferably due to his views on women but because he explicitly has romantic feelings for her, which then does two things: 1. ruins his entire conflict with zoro and why its interesting in the first place. 2. makes him more of a creep.
it also spoils sanjis character, sanji is not a masculine person who is trying to fit into masculinity, and because of how the show views him as inherently all of these things he claims to be, the struggle with him and gender is not articulated on enough because the again. at least one of the directors thought that was emasculating and appearently that's all he gleaned from sanji and namis interactions.
i will say taz skylar is an amazing actor and can fucking act the living shit out of sanji to the degree where i do not blame literally anybody for thinking the sanji writing is good. its not good. its just comparably a bit less evil all of the time than everybody else is. (which makes him the best written OPLA character. but that's not a feat.)
before i get into my big point which ties into basically all of my criticisms with opla. inaki godoy is good at luffy when hes given a script that actually is in character for luffy and writes him fully as autistic. OPLA luffy is allistic but still adhd to me. also i will literally never forgive them for the comment zoro makes towards the beginning of the baratie it really felt like they were avoiding saying the r slur. okay. that out of the way
...
so i bring a "OPLA was politically censored" vibe to the party that nobody likes, like to me its just obvious and i cant believe more people dont talk about the fact a lot of changes made within the story that were bad were to accommodate political censorship?
like nobodys mentioned directly any political censorship from netflix publicly, but i dont know how to else to describe the changes within OPLA
luffy literally says "be a good cop" in this version of the story and koby is no longer treated like a guy who is annoying and ultimately wrong but well intentioned and is instead The Neoliberal Mouthpiece who luffy (despite in canon literally forgetting he exists) loves for some reason? also buggy is done well i agree but i cannot not factor in the fact they made him way worse in this version.
it wouldnt be a bad decision on its own but that compounded with like... garp getting all the credit for restructuring the marine base and the everything with him in syrup village (i literally have not finished opla syrup village because of the beginning. my fucking god) like it just reads to me open as a book that netflix did NOT like that cops were getting punched. its the little things, too?
like bellamere actually scolding nami in front of genzo for stealing the book and making her pay it back instead of letting her keep it? nobody would change that if they weren't going at it from a "i need to change this because politics"
this brings me back to sanji again and also what i feel ultimately factors into a lack of acknowledgement of the queer themes in op. i feel that even at its best points, the baratie (OPLA), refuses to fully engage with the material its given in a well intentioned manner? (this is a sidenote but the fact fullbody in OPLA is made to fight with a pirate instead of just. be fullbody)
I do not think sanjis struggle with masculinity was conveyed enough. its less that his shit is actively bad like the rest of them (except in scenes with nami) and more just. passively bad? which is frustrating. which then brings me into um so every single acknowledgement of any kind of bigotry that one piece does is not mentioned within OPLA at all or is really toned down. like khaladore. DO not get me started.
summarization on the thoughts on khaladore (because this post is already too long): they made him "not bigoted" and also not an abusive paternal figure towards kaya and yet somehow at the same time refused to handle any of the sensitive subject matter he tackles with any kind of tact whatsoever? speaking as a khaladore fan who enjoys his protrayal of abuse within op itself and its one of the reasons i was first endeared towards one piece...
maybe OPLAs showrunners shouldnt be adapting a story with a lot of sensitive subjects if going by how theyve historically handled them theyre dogshit at it. just a thought. acting cannot save everything.
EDIT: source for oplas showrunner calling sanji a simp

I love trans women usopp. She would be so pretty but still be the same goofy ass usopp as usual. She still lies (she likes to add flirtatious charm or empathy. Babe learned how to cry on command.) Still cowers, dramatic as fuck and bickers with her crew
Sanji would swoon and act a fool towards as he does to Robin and Nami. During fights he jumps in wanting to protect her. 'Don't worry usopp darling! I'll save you! My sweet!'. Before he could finish his affections she's already sprinted the fuck out of there with out hesitation.
She's more touchy with Robin and uses her a Zoro 2.0 and hides behind her and drags her into her shenanigans. Robin likes to use a disembodied hand to shove her or smack the back of the head if she does something stupid. (Platonically of course you know the straw hats. Their Love language is physical violence towards each other)
Her dynamic with Nami did not change. They still cower in fear together, run away together, fight together and yell at Luffy together. They've only gotten closer, they even started fighting with each other more.
Her relationship with Zoro didn't change that much either girly still be yelling at him and criticizing his sense of direction. They still fight with each other, call each other names. Zoro still sees usopp as his equal she's still usopp. Is she still a liar, she's still over dramatic, Still a coward but she never misses her target and that's all he cares about. If only she'd stop nagging him.
She still thinks Franky is cool and is amazed by his engineering. His poses tho are kind of lame to her now but in a cute way. She will laugh whenever he does it. Franky sees her as a little sister which isn't saying much because he used to see her as a little brother. Brook is the same, nothing changed but he does ask her about her panties and you wouldn't believe this but she did let him see them. once!! and only once she was very strict about that and he never asked again.
Her and Luffy are still best friends and still good off. They're still very touchy and grabby. (I love how he doesn't see women's bodies as inherently sexual he just sees them as bodies) He still will wrestle with her, wraps around her and fall asleep next to her or on top of her. He has landed on top of her many times and she has yelled at him many times that he can't do that anymore! her boobs aren't cushions they hurt!
The only real change was sanji (I ship them but for the sake of this post it's one sided) sanji is a gentleman chivalry is his policy and he will treat any lady with the utmost respect (At least that's what he tells himself) he makes her drinks, treats and puts a lot of effort into the dinners that she eats like the other girls. When she started transitioning and developing he started going nuts for her. Usopp ate that shit up not only was it gender euphoric to be treated like the other women but she can ask sanji to do or buy her anything and he'll do it. She fucking loves attention that hasn't changed
Sometimes he'll revert back to his old ways with her especially when they get into an argument. He doesn't care if she's a gorgeous woman with pretty hair, a luscious body and smells like lemon and rosemary! (He does care. He cares so much. It's pathetic) stop bitching and start fishing!... Please darling.
Her fashion sense tho. It's the same but better She has sun hats, cabbie hats, brimmed braise, regular berets, beanies, buckets, cloche, and so many headbands. Short overalls, baggy overalls, jumpsuits of various sizes. She doesn't like wearing shirts she never did, unlike the other women on the boat she doesn't like letting her girls loose. It's not practical or functional for her line of work. She wears a sports bra or something with great support. Her favorite top is a high neck sports bra with a zipper in the front. Her hair is usually in a protective hair style. French braids with Afro puffs in the back or regular ponytail. She likes to let it down sometimes but it gets in the way. She's not that girly but she still wants to turn heads
In short she didn't really change and her crew treats her the same and the changes that did happen benefited her
See??? You send me asks like this one and then I don't have anything else to say because everything here is just perfect!!!
Transfem Usopp has changed my life for the better and this whole text is so so beautiful because this is exactly how I imagine her dynamics with the crew!!

Chapter 1074 — Mark III
Really enjoying the current arc! Although I do wonder what happened with Law and Kid from time to time, the mysteries of Egghead are really piling up.
First, the cover story is amazing:
Tumblr media
Nice little three-way brawl. Although Caesar has his powers, Queen doesn’t seem too cybernetically enhanced yet, although he does have that lovely mechanical arm to strangle Judge with. I wonder if he lost it in an accident or he changed it himself?
Tumblr media
The Bubble Shield is cool! And Oda once again does what he does so well and shows without telling: the bubble can withstand a blast from a bazooka at point blank range. Impressive.
I wonder what happened with Pacifista Mark II?
Tumblr media
Poor Sentomaru, all shaky and beat :( but the resolve is strong! And he must be quite a beloved fixture on Egghead for the people to care so much about him.
Radio Head dude in the bottom right corner is cute.
Tumblr media
Why is it unsettling that your employer tries to reach you in matters pertaining to your work, Sentomaru? Something you’d rather not talk about, Sentomaru? Everything fine at Egghead, Sentomaru?
I wonder if Kizaru is the Admiral in charge of the Special Science Group? His Sabaody interactions with Sentomaru and the fact that he’s on his way now would indicate this to be the case.
And the spread of the week!
Tumblr media
a) Zoro makes the future drip
b) York is one tall lady (but Sanji doesn’t discriminate, he loves all the ladies!)
c) Robin, stopping Nami from kicking Robin’s former, unconscious, tormentors says something profound about both women
d) Please Oda, just…give the ladies some trousers, OK?
Tumblr media
I do enjoy the ongoing gag of Zoro’s total lack of sense of direction. Not sure if Sanji’s sarcastic here, with tears in his eyes, but Robin’s supportive clenched fist and smile is really cute (although her words are harsh).
Tumblr media
And “I always go all out for everything” is such a Luffy statement <3
It’s nice that Luffy and Zoro get a moment to just relax.
However, you guys should really know that it’s a horrible idea to split up into smaller groups when something isn’t right as evidenced by the laser dome being operational. Do not split up! THERE IS A MOLE IN YOUR MIDST (mirroring Stussy, I presume, which in turn mirrors the double-agenting back in Wano). Maybe figure out that before splitting up into smaller teams?
But before we go into the Christie-esque Whodunnit-mystery: a detour to Bonney.
Tumblr media
I thought Vegapunk was still with her, up until this panel. She really let him go quite quickly when she found her father’s memories. Maybe not the best writing (she was determined to kill him for quite a while before this and then she just… lets him go?), but understandable from a plot-perspective.
Tumblr media
So Kuma was a slave in his childhood and Bonney sees him beaten? Reminiscent of other “see the memories of others” scenes, where the protagonist is helpless in the face of history, unable to change what has already happened. You can only be there and try to understand how it connects to a larger picture.
Tumblr media
I just wanted to mention this panelling. It’s a really nice mirroring of father and daughter: Bonney covers, a small girl thrown down on the floor, yet Kuma keeps going (where, we don’t know). But then she looks at him (or his memories) and strengthens her resolve: she will see her father and understand him.
Poor Bonney, all shaky yet resolved :(
Tumblr media
That slice of Kuma’s smile is just… ouch.
There’s probably something to unravel here on the justification (or responsibility) of children bearing their parent’s trauma, but I’m not the one to untangle that ball of knotty yarn.
And back to the Whodunnit part of the show!
Tumblr media
Who is it? Who cut off the defenses and enabled CP0 to get up? Who is picking off the Vegapunk Satellites one at a time? A new character or someone we’ve already got to know and love or loathe?
a) One theory is that Urogue will play a larger part in the upcoming arc since all other Supernovas have had their time in the limelight. He is large enough to take on Pythagoras by himself, but he hasn’t been shown to have any connection to Egghead or Vegapunk.
b) The klink and klank suggests either a robot or someone with a large wrench.
c) Is it a Warlord-Pacifista, sneaking inside the lab, fulfilling the orders of Lucci and Kaku?
And the return of Beebs!
Tumblr media
Vivi is very professional-looking here! Nice shirt!
But now i am itching for the backstory. Why is she at the WENP with Wapol of all people? Where is her entourage and his gold-digging wife? What happened after the Reverye and why was she crying yesterday? What is the timespan of all these events?
I really enjoy Morgans. He understands the role he chooses to play a little too well, taking on the mantle of a Murdoch-type slimeball who’s only in it to shape the world into what he wants. Although the government threatened him earlier and they seem to still be on the run, he’s fine with taking their money when spinning the yarn to support their interests.
There’s probably some other meta hiding here about the role of newspapers and how long we’ve had independent, truth-based journalism and if it’s ever been impartial or always entertainment, but, alas, it’s not a piece for me to delve into.
Great chapter, once more! I give it a deerstalker to wear, a gossip rag to write and the strength to face your father’s demons.

In terms of the writing for the live action, I’m less concerned about about the one liners in the trailer so much as whether or not that’s going to be the only type of joke. A lot of One Piece’s best comedic moments are very physical, often combining the humor with the action, and live action is well adept for that sort of physicality. Like what you find with Jackie Chan or Edgar Wright films. But most of the crew on the directing and writing side of production mostly have experience with crime dramas, medical dramas, superhero dramas that lean heavily towards drama, and supernatural dramas, with the only experience in comedy being of the romcom or sitcom variety.
A lot of which is genuinely good, great even! But it does mean that their main wheelhouses are mostly stories that are primarily driven by intimate interpersonal conflicts with sparse action sprinkled throughout, which I don’t feel that’s a story structure you can force One Piece to conform to without problems. Combined that with how big studio-driven projects tend to gravitate towards dialogue heavy comedy overall (the logic being it’s cheaper in the short term to film a million takes of different one liners, or film 6 straight hours of improv, and then string it all together in post) and I worry the end result of potentially taking that approach to One Piece would 80% of characters butting heads over issues that were basically footnotes in the original while also scaling back on any action/slapstick sequences that aren’t considered strictly necessary. And I really really REALLY don’t want a version of the East Blue saga where, for example, Luffy getting roped into working for the Baratie is drawn out across several scenes where crew members complain about it amongst themselves instead of roasting Luffy for the blunder in a single scene; or a pre-Arlong Park Zoro making a big stink every 20 minutes about not trusting Nami because of that one time she pushed him in Syrup Village, while also taking out the part about the Home Alone-style oil slick so it’s more a momentary annoyance that effected nothing rather than Zoro spending part of the fight making multiple attempts to claw his way up a slippery hill like a Sisyphusian himbo clown.
BUT given that Oda has writing credits on every single episodes and he apparently drew a lot of storyboards for the live action series so I’m hopeful the show keeps the physical comedy intact and the East Blue crew growing pains still stem from the endearing clumsiness and foolhardiness over the kind of interpersonal friction-to-outright-hostility that make for cheap ready-made drama to pad out runtimes but make it difficult to believe that the characters are actually friends; if that makes sense.
So far we only really have a really short teaser, in which i think it would be hard to show any physicall comedy bit?
I think the teaser was more to show us the charecters, sets and costumes (which were all amazing overall) and give us a taste of the tone, which i see is the thing that is making the most noise.
There's a lot of concern around the writing and i share that naturally, but i dont think we have enough to say for sure how its gonna be
I say until we have another trailer or some more promotional content, we enjoy the cast, the costumes and amazing REAL sets that in a cgi era are like a fucking oasis to my eyes
