Okay, I changed my mind. This is my favourite photo of Ben Barnes. Or maybe it’s just my favourite photo of Zoe Wanamaker, who is a treasure.

We live in a truly blessed age to have witnessed Peter Capaldi and Zoë Wanamaker trying to lick the tips of their elbows

God, I love how close the Shadow and Bone cast is. You can tell by their interactions on interviews, social media, etc. that they truly love each other and have formed an actual friend group in real life. I can't think of many shows where this has happened, at least not to this degree.

cris watches dr. who: s02e01 - "New Earth"
"Strictly speaking, it's the fifteenth New York, which makes it New New New New New New… New New New New New New… New New New York."
Season 2, baby!
Lord, these two dorks and their Tardis
Cassandra?!?! Yay! She was one of my favourite villains last season. Vain and opportunistic are two of my favorite character traits
Rose has learned lessons: she's grabbing a weapon when somebody inexplicably knows her name
The cat nurses look really really good! Season 2 either got better make up artists or more budget, but I like it
The Face of Boe! I know he's going to be more significant at some point, but it's not this episode
Cassandra and her lackey Chip - what in the Dracula and Renfield is this
FREAKY FRIDAY EPISODE!
The Face of Boe is the last of his kind? That plucks the Dr's heart strings
Cassandra-as-Rose immediately seizes the opportunity to make out with the Doctor. (To be fair, I would also make out with David Tennant)
Cassandra's mugging as Rose is hilarious. She's in a bouncy house!
Cassandra hopping from body to body is hilarious. My favourite bit is that her immediate response to taking over any body is a disdainful little comment about said body ("Chavtastic", indeed)
What in the macgyver
The last Doctor was a lot... angrier. This one feels geekier, flightier
This new Doctor does look good wet
Yay, the Doctor kept my favourite trait: I like how the Dr can take pity on anyone who needs it
And the ending, where Cassandra-as-Chip tells her younger self she's beautiful, puts a nice, emotionally resonant bow on the whole episode. A+
Bye, Cassandra. You were a great antagonist
8 out of 8 Tardes. Cool setting and two warring plots - creepy hospital and Cassandra's revenge - that are married beautifully. Solid season starter.
