Personality Headcanons
(Since the greek male love interests have little to none to go off of)
HYACINTHUS: I think people believe that he acts like very sweet and gentle, but I think that doesn't make a lot of sense for Hyacinthus and it's kind of a easy basic answer. Hyacinthus, to me, seems like more of a military type person. I mean, he's in SPARTA, and everybody knows how Sparta acts like. I'm not saying he can't be a nice person, but I think there is far more to him. He's not necessarily delicate in my opinion, he's very strong and very competitive. He can be protective, even over Apollo, and a amazing fighter. I think that he liked Apollo so much because he didn't have to worry about anything around him. He can be stressfree, and he loved that. I think he was also a direct person with the way he spoke. Essentially the way Patroclus acted like in the Iliad, because I believe they kind of parallel one another, like Achilles parallels Apollo in some ways.
NERITES: Nerites is a fun one, actually. It took a while for me to make up a personality because of what little we have of him. We know Aphrodite and Poseidon both love him, we know that he's Amphitrite's little brother, and we know he's extraordinarily beautiful. Also that he's Poseidon's charioteer. I also heard that he was VERY VERY fast to the point he even challenged Helios (or maybe he didn't and Helios was just jealous tbh). So I'm thinking that maybe he's a daredevil of sorts? Very energetic and very playful kind of like the typical little brother. He's a ride-or-die type of person and doesn't like staying in one place. Also, maybe he can be a little bit bratty at times, giving Poseidon a little bit of sass certain times (Poseidon is way more unbothered then people would typically think). Also I think Nerites is very much aware of HOW pretty he is and uses his pretty privelege to get away with pranks and stuff. I mean how is Poseidon supposed to punish him with those pretty doe eyes? Come on!
Ganymede: He's actually the more simpler ones. He's the only one that I can genuinely see as gentle and delicate. I think he was probably pampered a lot due to his immense beauty, so kind of the opposite of Hyacinthus. When he first came to Olympus I think he was genuinely frightened and Zeus had to comfort him. (Cute little headcanon that he met Nerites and felt a bit more comfortable due to Nerites' company). Even though we all know what PROBABLY happened based on Zeus' behavior, I like to think that Zeus was very patient with Ganymede and refused to touch him until Ganymede initiated first. I think Ganymede also kind of doesn't realize how much privilege he has? He's a bit spoiled but doesn't quite realize it? He knows he's pretty but he doesn't exactly understand HOW pretty he is, and he also doesn't understand how far Zeus would go for him. He's not necessarily insecure, just completely unaware and not too out of touch.
Adonis: Adonis is literally the insane dude who you speak to who constantly talks about and is fascinated by DEATH or the UNIVERSE or how the world is going to collapse any second. If Adonis spoke to the average joe, they would probably only listen because of how beautiful Adonis is. Adonis realizes he's very beautiful, but it's extremely effortless. I think Aphrodite kind of likes that he doesn't try so hard, and it just comes for him. Adonis doesn't like special treatment for his looks either (but he definitely gets it anyway). Adonis is incredibly fearless when it comes to death, and gets excited when he almost dies. Adonis has a great singing voice but will ONLY sing around people he feels deserve it. Not even out of arrogance, but because he only wants people he loves and trusts to hear it.

Wait, I’m just now learning who Ganymede is. Correct me if I’m wrong but should I be adding ‘absolute nonce’ to my list of why Zeus is an asshole? From what I know Ganymede is a young handsome either Shepard or prince of Troy that’s taken from his home by Zeus because Zeus wants to do what Zeus always does.
Welcome to the “Everybody hates Zeus” club, I’m not the ceo but @cupbearers-comic is.

Couch and footstool with bone carvings and glass inlays. Roman 1st–2nd century CE. x
These pieces of furniture have been reassembled from fragments, some of which may come from the imperial villa of Lucius Verus (co-emperor, A.D. 161–169), on the Via Cassia outside Rome. It is not certain that the square glass panels are original to the bed frame and stool, but the carved bone inlays are paralleled on other Roman couches. On the couch legs are friezes of huntsmen, horses, and hounds flanking Ganymede, the handsome Trojan youth who was abducted by Zeus in the guise of an eagle to serve as his wine steward; on the footstool are scenes of winged cupids and leopards; and on the sides of the bed frame, the striking lion protomes have eyes inlaid with glass.

Hello Aquarius! ♒🏺 Zeus' cupbearer Ganymede represents this innovative sign, pouring into a kylix 🌊 In Greek myth, Zeus abducted Ganymede in the form of an eagle, hence the design on the vessel he carries. ✨Prints and merch [X] This Greek myth astrology series features each sign represented by a character or event in mythology (whether canonically related to the sign or not - I'm vibing)!

“They are here, my lord,” Ganymede announced to the god.
“Let them in,” Zeus commanded. Ganymede nodded and gestured for the guards to open the doors of The Great Hall.
Sitting on his throne, Zeus let out a heavy sigh, his eyes landing on the sealed gold and black encrusted box sitting on the velvet platform next to him.
“My lord,” Jeonghan and Joshua greeted him at the same time. The angels folded in their white wings, bowing and kneeling with an arm across their chest.
“Jeonghan, Joshua,” Zeus replied, gesturing for the angels to stand. A warm smile graced the god’s face.
Zeus loved and deeply trusted this pair of angels: Jeonghan and Joshua. Molded from clay by Aphrodite herself, not only were they pulchritudinous, but they both possessed a charm of their own that made it hard to dislike either of them. Simultaneously, since birth, they were attached at the hip, one complimenting the other, and year after year, they’ve proven to be an unbreakable pair. Though most of their days were spent amongst mortals – from whispering sweet nothings to children in their sleep to delivering punishments to those who have gone against the will of Olympus, year after year, they’ve proven to be an unbreakable pair when higher duty calls, this being one of those moments.
Jeonghan, with his glowing skin, golden locks, and heart-stopping smirk, had a way with words – he was rather clever, able to muster up unthinkable plans. He was playful and teasing, but loved hard and was perhaps more loyal than a centaur to those he loved. Zeus had no fear that he would ever betray his mother or any of the gods and goddesses Olympus for that matter.
Joshua, on the other hand, infamously known as the angel with beautiful doe-like eyes and soothing voice, was a calming presence. His quiet nature should not be taken lightly, however, as he served as the logic to Jeonghan’s chaos. Because of this, decisions were easy, objective, and definitive for him. Zeus trusted the young angel’s judgment was calculated and clear.
“Why have you called us here, my lord?” Joshua asked. His eyes flickered to the box on the stand.
“Always so quick to get to the point,” Zeus let out a hearty laugh. “Not even a hello? How are you?”
The corner of Joshua’s lips curled up into a small smile. “With all due respect sir, mortals are keeping our hands quite full.”
“Fair enough,” Zeus nodded. He stood from his throne and made his way to the box. With one hand, he lifted it off the platform, a cool, yet burning sensation pulsating from it in his hold as he carefully walked down the steps.
“The Pithos of the Underworld,” Jeonghan said breathlessly as the gold and black engraved box came into view. Joshua’s eyes widened as he backed away, pulling his counterpart back as well.
“Indeed,” Zeus chuckled.
Jeonghan stared up at the god, eyes large and swimming with curiosity and anxiety. “So the rumors were true.”
“B-but why do you have it, my lord?” Joshua asked. An avid reader and careful listener, he knew the dangers associated with this box. Legend had it that Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades had imprisoned all that was evil in the mortal world in this case within the first few years of humanity in effort to save them from destroying themselves. Guarded by Hades' three-headed dog, Cerberus, the box itself was hidden in the depths of an obscure cave in the Underworld, requiring a journey that only even a few gods and goddesses could withstand. These past few weeks, he had heard other whispers from other angels that an unforeseen dark force had made its way into the Underworld seeking the haunted treasure.
“My children,” Zeus started, his thumb brushing over the gold engravings, “It is with great honor that I bestow the protection of The Pithos to you.”
“M-my lord,” Jeonghan said breathlessly, still stunned to be in the presence of something so seemingly dangerous. “We are nothing but mere creations of clay brought to life by Aphrodite herself. If a god couldn’t protect it, how are we, children, supposed to keep it safe?”
Zeus extended The Pithos to Joshua, nudging it into the young angel’s arms. With no other choice, the doe-eyed creature gingerly wrapped his hands around it, careful not to drop it.
“You both have shown me time and time again, the power of your friendship and partnership,” Zeus explained, “From the battle with that bastard Ares to blessing humans with the technology to survive Demeter’s famine, the two of you are unstoppable.”
“You think too highly of us, my lord,” Joshua refuted, his eyes still examining the box. He could’ve sworn he heard a blood curdling scream come from it.
“Very well,” Zeus clasped his hands behind his back. “I cannot change your minds, but do have faith in me having faith in your abilities.”
“It is our honor to serve you, my lord,” Jeonghan bowed for both himself and Joshua, knowing the other could not do so in fear of breaking open the box. “But if I may ask . . . what would you like us to do with it? Where do we hide it?”
“That is for you to figure out,” Zeus chuckled. “I will say, however, my children, sometimes the best hiding places are the most unlikely.”

Thanks @real-life-senshi for tagging me! I rarely do these kinds of 'get-to-know-you' posts but why not?
The Rules: Tag (9) people you want to know better and/or catch up with, then answer the following:
Four Ships:
Victuuri (Victor Nikiforov x Yuuri Katsuki, Yuri!!! On Ice): I got pulled into the YOI fandom when someone I was following started posting what I thought at the time was an annoyingly excessive number of YOI-related memes and gifs. I ended up watching the series out of curiosity to know what the hype was all about and enjoyed it a lot, which led me to find other people equally interested and talking about it around here, and ultimately led me to the wider world of AO3 where I found many talented writers both in this fandom and others. So I would like to take this opportunity to formally thank the aforementioned YOI-meme poster who unwittingly introduced me to the fandom: @rosepetalrevolution please receive my most heartfelt thanks and this metaphorical gift basket 🎁
Judiki (Julian x Dick Kirrin, Famous Five): If you've been around my blog lately, you know I've been introduced to this pairing by the lovely and talented @sweetsorcery and @majormcnerdy-geekinfantry-blog. This pairing was an unexpected and delightful find that is now living rent free in my head.
Zeus x Ganymede (Greek mythology): @littlesparklight is solely responsible for my discovery and enjoyment of this ship! This prolific writer has also produced many different works around various Greek myths, both shippy and non-shippy, and I can only urge you to visit her AO3 page.
Writers x Readers x Artists: I love collabs. I love when a reader makes a comment that sparks a future idea for a writer. I love when an artist surprises a writer with art for their fics, or when a writer makes a snippet based on a piece of art. Just keep that virtuous circle going!
(I just realised that the 3 ships I listed are all MM but that's not exclusively representative to my tastes. I equally enjoy MF or FF or any other combinations!)
Last Song: The Eurovision 2023 playlist that I listened on repeat for my ratings. I don't really listen to a lot of music on my own; I find it too distracting when I'm reading or looking stuff up on my computer. I listened to music a lot more when I used to draw, though; I always had music as a background then.
Currently Reading: Bill Bryson's The Body: A Guide for Occupants (non fiction) ... as well as a lot of ongoing fics on AO3 -- mostly original works but some fanfics too.
Last Movie: That would be Alexandre Astier's Kaamelott (Premier Volet), based on the legend of King Arthur. It started as a short-format humoristic TV series made of 3-minute episodes, then evolved into 50-minute episodes as the plot got more involved and explored deeper concepts, and the conclusion should now be in the form of a movie trilogy, the first one of which was released a couple of years ago. For a long time, my awareness of the franchise was mainly about the earlier 3-minute humoristic episodes, as they benefit from regular (but out of sequence) reruns on TV. Only recently did I watch the full 6 seasons in the order they were meant to be watched, which greatly enhances the experience. I hope they can get the final two movies made!
Craving: TIME. Seriously. Give me time to read the growing pile of books sitting on my 'to-read' shelf. Give me time to re-read books I've enjoyed in the past and see if I have the same outlook now as I did then. Give me time to read and re-read and comment on AO3 fics. Give me time to resume drawing and learn how to properly use digital art tools. Give me time to practice the piano again. Give me time to exercise so I can feel fitter and stronger in my body. GIVE ME TIME.
Tagging: Absolutely no pressure doing this! Just tagging some of my mutuals and people whose posts and contents always brighten up my dash :) @moonwhing @proantagonista (whom I have not mentioned above but whose YOI fic "Winter Song" was one of the earliest I read and convinced me there was really good stuff to be found in fanfic) @sweetsorcery @majormcnerdy-geekinfantry-blog @littlesparklight @rosepetalrevolution @happyheidi @somethingyoirelated @sheepskeleton-art

Stargazing With Mikey
Tumblr media
Paring: Sano Manjiro x Hibiki Amamiya
a/n: this is my first time writing for Tokyo Revengers. I'm growing to love these little gangsters and I've been wanting to write for them for a while.
Hibiki enjoyed staring up at the stars, a habit passed down from her mother: the ultimate definition of a dreamer. After training with her father and her onii-chan, her mother would take her outside on their porch. She would sit little Hibiki on her lap, and - in her own romanized way - tells her daughter stories of the stars.
Delphinus: the dolphin that carried Amphitrite to Poseidon, Pisces: the story of the mother and son koi fish. Her favorite was the story of Aquarius: the kidnapped Ganymede and Zeus’ attraction, an attraction he used to give water to the thirsty people on Earth, because while she was a dreamer she also understood hardships and believed in learning life lessons at a young age.
"Use your tools to your advantage. Unlike the constellations, no one is going to write your name in the stars."
This lesson was trained into her head. It was ironic how her dreamer of a mother became such a realist when it came to her only daughter, but it was a fond memory of a time when she was still able to sit on her mother's lap and have a moment of peace.
Now her life was far from peaceful, so she took the time on quiet nights just to stare up at the stars, her long-time friends, who would be there still long after her departure.
Sometimes Mikey would join her. His presence was quiet. He was a different than the sunshine child he was during the day. This was the time when the shadows started to creep in and that sunny smile retired into that pessimistic frown that Hibiki thinks doesn't belong.
Hibiki took the place of her mother these nights. Gentle as if he was made of porcelain, she would guide his head to rest on her lap and as she would card her fingers through his thick hair she would tell him stories of the stars. His eyes would droop and she'd still sit there, still massaging his scalp while he slept, keeping his nightmares away until it was time to wake again.
