Liam's interview with impaulsive - I watched the whole thing so you don't have to. He said some stuff about the experience of being in 1D, about being lost himself, and about Zayn. He said some nice stuff about Louis also.

I continue to be concerned about Liam's alcoholism - he talks about being drunk and wasted. He's even day drinking whiskey on the interview. He says he's lost and doesn't know who he is, is just imitating others. That's insightful but sad.

He didn't trash Zayn like Twitter is chirping he did. He did make a low blow reference to the Jake Paul fight where Gigi had tweeted "get yourself a respectful man" and Liam said, that didn't age well, presumably referencing the breakup drama.

But it's not a complete bagging on Zayn. Here's the full quote:

Liam: There's many reasons why I dislike Zayn and there's many reasons while I'll always, always be on his side. If I had had to go through what he went through - through his growth and whatever else - are your parents very supportive?

INT: Very, very.

Liam: My parents are overly supportive to the point where it's annoying sometimes...and Zayn - Zayn had a different upbringing in that sense, and you can always look at the man for where he is and say oh yeah, whatever, that guy's a dick, right? But at the end of the day once you understand what he's been through to get to that point, and whether or not he actually even wanted to be there.....

I don't agree with any of his actions, I can't commend some of the things he's done. I can't be on his side for that. What I can say is I understand and I hope that - your only hope is that sometime in your life the person on the other end of the phone wants to receive the help that you're willing to give."

That's a fair thing to say. Sounds like someone establishing healthy boundaries, who does actually care, who gets why it's not simple, and who hopes the other person will be better.

Do you worry sometimes that HL will be like Bradley Cooper or DiCaprio in their 50th and still closeted and having beards? I don't worry about it, no. The way i see it, the difference is that Leo and Bradley don't want to come out. They're self-closeted. They're afraid they will be percieved differently, lose opportunities/roles and not be respected and regarded as highly as gay men. They don't want to lose male validation (read straight males). They're also from a different generation.

I think H and L wants out. I don't think H wants a beard and do pda with women. I don't think L wants to be seen as an absent father or have beards. I think they want to come out, but it's the circumstances they're in that make it impossible for now. It's not a choice they can make. So unless these circumstances (contracts, clauses etc.) drag on for years and years, i think they'll come out when they can and before they settle down and start a family. Whenever that may be.
