I wrote a list of the crimes commited by important characters in Moriarty the Patriot. This is only the anime so characters exclussive to the manga won't appear, nor will crimes commited in arcs exclussive to the manga.

This is an extremley long list, also may contain spoilers if you haven't watched the anime/read the manga, however they shouldn't be to bad.

Notes

¹Suicide Act 1961. This act removed suicide as a crime in England and Wales, meaning those who survived a suicide attempt could not be prosecuted. Family members of those who did not survive could no longer be prosecuted either. However, under Suicide Act 1961, Section 2, it remains a crime for a third party to encourage or assist in the suicide of another.

²Terrorism or Organised Crime (or both)

Definitions:

Terrorism: The unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.

Organised crime: Criminal activities that are planned and controlled by powerful groups and carried out on a large scale.

The motive of organised crime is often, but not always, financial.

The Moriarty Plan is a force of violence with the intention of political change. This violence is commited against their home country meaning this is domestic terrorism. They have no wish for financial gain, however, because they are commiting crimes that are planned and controlled, this is also organised crime. Those directly involved in The Moriarty Plan and its execution are therefore guilty of both terrorism and organised crime.

³The Gun License Act 1870. This act meant that anyone may still purchase a gun, however a license was required to have one off your personal property for any reason. This means that James Bonde and Sebatian Moran are both guilty of illegal possession of a firearm as they are both legally dead and therefore cannot have a gun license. However, Sherlock, William and Von Herder are never disclosed to have a gun license but this does not mean they do not have one as they would be perfectly elligable to get one. If they do all own a gun license, this takes Sherlock's crimes down to 5, William's crimes down to 29 and Von Herder's crimes down to 7.

Issac "Zack" Foster -> Yandere Alphabet

Affection: How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get?

Zack has never felt the urge to show affection to anyone, nor did he ever receive it. The subject is foreign to him so he never even thought about it, that is until he met you. Surprisingly affection from Zack is delicate at first, viewing you as some fragile object that he can easily break, making him gentle with you at first. As your relationship grows he will become more desperate and intense, no longer holding you as gently as before. He'll press you hard against his chest as he entangles you in his limbs, hiding you away from the world, enjoying having you all to himself.

Blood: How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?

Is that even a question nobody knows the answer to? He obviously will, before he met you he was always bloody, and during a relationship with you he will continue to get messy if he wants/needs to. Especially now that Zack has you he might even seek it out more, wanting to eliminate the competition immediately.

Cruelty: How would they treat their darling once abducted? Would they mock them?

Maybe, the most Zack will do is whine about you being too loud for him and to "shut up". However, the more you keep your act up the more irritated he gets and besides raising his voice at you he might start mocking you just to enforce the point that if you don't settle down, things will only get worse.

Darling: Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will?

Depends. If it's NSFW stuff, then that's a no. Everything else is essentially fair game though. Zack's gonna force you to do a lot of things if it's for the sake of your health even if you don't want to out of rebellion. You will be forced to eat, wash, clothe yourself, etc. Zack doesn't want you dying on him, so you ain't getting out of this one unwillingly. The same can be said with affection, there is no way you're strong enough to push him away so if Zack wants to hold you or kiss you, he will. Doesn't matter how hard you manage to fight back, you're his and he will eventually get his way.

Exposed: How much of their heart do they bare to their darling? How vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling?

Never, Zack won't dare to show you even a lick of weakness to you. Maybe while he's sleeping you'll catch him mumbling about something in his past, but that's all you're gonna get because you'll never hear or witness being vulnerable willingly.

Fight: How would they feel if their darling fought back?

He'd find it slightly amusing at first, before quickly changing his mind seeing that you're being serious and telling you to knock it off. Even though Zack is a big strong guy, he would never use his strength to hurt you. Instead, if you continue to dismiss his orders he'll either lock you somewhere to come down and keep you there until you do or physically hold you down or against something until your tantrum is over, all the while telling you to calm down.

Game: Is this a game to them? How much would they enjoy watching their darling try to escape?

No. Zack only plays games with his victims, but you're not prey to him, you are much more than that. Nothing makes Zack angrier than you getting away from him, he'll instantly go berserk, destroying everything in his path just to get you back, and he won't stop until that happens. Once he has you back he'd lock you up somewhere for as long as it takes him to calm down, which we all know will take hours if not days for Zack to do so. Making you rethink each time if escape is really worth it cause even after calming down he'll be harsher to you than usual, and that won't be fun either. Though that will pass with time too.

Hell: What would be their darling’s worst experience with them?

Witnessing him slaughter people. Zack doesn't really care if you see him commit the crime or not, he doesn't think it's that big of a deal, at least for him. Zack would be so confused upon witnessing your horror over the situation, he doesn't get it and then is massively insensitive about it, making you even more terrified of him and his lack of human compassion and morality.

Ideals: What kind of future do they have in mind for/with their darling?

Definitely not marriage or kids, because let's face it, with him being a killer and his immaturity, none of those things are logically happening, he won't even consider them. All Zack wants is to just have you with him by his side forever, that's all he needs.

Jealousy: Do they get jealous? Do they lash out or find a way to cope?

Indeed he does. When Zack is jealous he lashes out at the person who made him feel this way. You're his and he won't let anybody take you away from him. Zack somehow becomes even more angry and violent when jealous, how dare someone try to take you away from him he will make sure their death will be as painful as possible. Once he is done with his tantrum, Zack will act cold but possessive with you. He'd barely speak to you and only curse under his breath as he holds you in any way possible, reminding himself and you about who you actually belong to.

Kisses: How do they act around or with their darling?

Honestly, Zack would act as his normal usual self around you. The only difference is his lack of urge to harm you in any way, instead wanting to keep you safe and sheltered from the world. There's also his overprotectiveness of you, you come first in any situation so Zack will go overboard for you every time just to keep you safe. You can argue he'd be the same as with Rachel, the difference being that anything involving you is taken by Zack 100% even more seriously. Heck, he'd even try his hand at being nicer and gentler with you because of how much you matter to him. Other than everything that involves you, he's still the same old Zack.

Love letters: How would they go about courting or approaching their darling?

Zack doesn't even think of a plan about how to approach you, he'd approach you like any other victim of his, but with the lack of trying to kill you of course. Even if you try to run Zack will catch up and try one last time to be "nice" and "patient" with you, wanting you to come with him willingly as that would be easier for him. If you still refuse, understandably so, Zack will either knock you out or forcefully drag you to his hiding spot/where he lives and no amount of screaming or protesting will get you out of this one.

Mask: Are their true colors drastically different from the way they act around everyone else?

Not at all. Like I said before, outside of a few differences, especially with the ones involving you, Zack acts exactly the same. He's just more gentler and caring towards you compared to other people. But like I said, there's barely any difference between his normal self and his yandere self.

Naughty: How would they punish their darling?

The only punishment you'd ever get is isolation or more rights being taken away. Zack would never physically harm you, so he'd use other methods to reinforce the point that you are punished. As mentioned before, Zack will lock you away inside an empty room for as long as it takes for him to calm down or feel like you've learned your lesson. When it comes to rights, Zack will just limit the amount of freedom you had before or will take stuff away from you for a period of time that keeps you entertained. He'd discipline you as if you were a child, and even though that may feel dehumanizing, it's not Zack's outright intent to make you feel that way. It's just his only way of punishing you without actually laying his hands/weapon on you.

Oppression: How many rights would they take away from their darling?

Only the ones that personally threaten, Zack. For example, never go anywhere without him near you. No weapons near you are allowed, for your safety and his. The only human contact as well as interaction is with him only, nobody is allowed to be as close to you as he is, the only exception is Rachel. Basically, the only rights that are taken away from you or are at least limited are the ones where you would have a chance of escaping or hurting Zack, other than that Zack doesn't care how you spend your time. As long as you aren't going against his rules he's fine.

Patience: How patient are they with their darling?

Zack is not a patient person, at all, I think we all know that. That being said, when it comes to you he tries his best to be more patient. Sure at some point he will snap and throw a little tantrum, but he'll be far more careful about it than with anyone else, always keeping in mind not to accidentally hurt you. He'd try to be gentle with his yelling at you, trying not to be as harsh as he usually would be with everyone else, but even that's hard for him. Only for you does he try to be somewhat nicer even when he's being mean.

Quit: If their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on?

Not sure, it depends on the scenario. If you somehow escaped him then be prepared to be forever on the run cause he is coming. You have been claimed by Zack as his and that means no matter where you go he's right behind you. Zack would never give up in trying to find you, he'd destroy everything and everyone in his path if he had to, anything to have you by his side again. But if you die, Zack would completely shut himself out emotionally, he'd be a sad shell of his former self. Forever angry and miserable, he would not be able to move on from that, only becoming even worse and more violent of a killer, wanting the world to feel his anger by slaughtering people because that's all Zack would have left. He'd add couples to his list of people he would kill, the sight of happy couples too much for him to handle after losing you. After all, if he can't have you, then nobody else can have that form of happiness that was taken away from him.

Regret: Would they ever feel guilty about abducting their darling? Would they ever let their darling go?

Nope! Guilt and Zack? Never! There is no guilt or even a thought of ever letting you go in his head, ever. It's not like Zack thinks he's justified or that he's doing the right thing, but there's no way in hell that will stop him from having you if that's what he wants. As far as Zack's concerned your place belongs with him and that alone is enough for him to not think twice about taking you.

Stigma: What brought about this side of them (childhood, curiosity, etc)?

Curiosity is definitely a part of it. At first, you were supposed to be another one of his victims, but as he stalked you, observed your actions, and got to see your personality and how attractive you were. Zack didn't even mind your smile, heck, you could even say he liked it! It all frustrated him so much, that he could not understand this feeling! The longer he followed you the less he found himself wanting to kill you, but to keep you. So every day he would find you by chance just to watch you, to understand why you gave him this annoying sting in his chest. Zack was so scared and angry for feeling this way for you at first, it made him feel so weak. All he could think about was having you, and that's what ultimately pushed him into making you his whether you wanted to or not.

Tears: How do they feel about seeing their darling scream, cry, and/or isolate themselves?

Seeing and hearing you so vulnerable gives Zack an unwanted sting in his chest. He feels both irritated and worried, just wanting you to stop and calm down. At first, Zack would ignore you, thinking you'll get it out of your system without his help, but the longer you go on the more he feels does annoying emotions. He'd finally snap and tell you to stop, his tone and words harsh but his actions the absolute opposite, gentle and sweet. Pulling you into his arms as he continues to tell you to shut it as he pats your head and runs his other arm up and down your back, in an attempt to soothe you. He'll stay like that with you as long as it takes for you to calm down, absolutely giving you mixed signals unintentionally with his opposite intentions of helping you.

Unique: Would they do anything different from the classic yandere?

Zack will still happily kill people even if they're not in his way in regards to you. Whereas most other yandere's kill out of necessity for their darling, Zack doesn't need that type of excuse and just kills whenever he pleases, even if it doesn't involve you in the slightest.

Vice: What weakness can their darling exploit in order to escape?

His immense anger. When Zack enters his temper tantrum, he always makes sure not to be in your vicinity to not accidentally hurt you. You can use that time to escape, but like I said before, Zack will eventually catch on that you're gone and will immediately run after you. No matter how far or long you run, he will always catch up to you and bring you back.

Wit’s end: Would they ever hurt their darling?

Not on purpose. Zack would never hurt you physically, but even though he never intends to hurt you emotionally, he does it sometimes without even realizing it. He may raise his voice at you and use harsh words a lot, this man has no filter and is still learning what isn't offensive or is sensitive for you so he may make you cry or angry sometimes without meaning to.

Xoanon: How much would they revere or worship their darling? To what length would they go to win their darling over?

I don't think there would be any worship in the relationship. He's not that obsessed with you to actually worship you. Zack loves you on a yandere level, sure, but he won't kiss the ground you walk on, he'd just treat you with more care than a normal person, is all.

Yearn: How long do they pine after their darling before they snap?

As established before, Zack is not a patient man by any means and will at most take him a few days to a week before he snaps and just takes you. The fact he just doesn't take you immediately says something because it means he wanted to study you first to understand this strange feeling you make him feel. Wanting to figure out first if it's just him wanting to kill you, or a new unknown feeling entirely.

Zenith: Would they ever break their darling?

Not on purpose. Zack would never intend to actually do that, but I can see that happening, depending on how well your mental health will handle the situation of being, loved by an obsessive killer that kills on the regular while having him and maybe Rachel as the only human contact you can get with a poor living situation. So it depends on the person, but I feel like most people would not be able to handle something like this after a while if not immediately, and break.

taehyung’s known you almost his whole life - his sister’s best friend, the girl who invades his home and his life on the daily. you’re the one who gave his sister the nickname ‘sky’ to begin with - and also the one who relented when he whined about it at age five and said okay, you can be the stars, then. it’s funny, because to him, you’re just the petty, mischievous neighbor from across the street with a penchant for stealing his snacks. but over the years, you’ve somehow landed yourself a reputation that stretches beyond the 1.5 year age gap he has with you - for someone who generally likes to keep things low key, you sure have a way of drawing attention. sky’s friendly, teasing best friend is known for being cold, impassive, and immovable. which is weird, because when he’s around you, all he sees are unabashed grins and terrible jokes. until he realizes maybe he doesn’t know you like he thought he did. maybe they’re right - it just so happens that the walls you throw up around him look a little different from the walls you throw up around everyone else.

spring semester starts cold, mid-january, which is your excuse for still holding onto taehyung’s scarf. he doesn’t seem to mind - exact words, “it’s yours now,” - but for the sake of your sanity, you continue to make up reasons for why it’s still in your possession.

for now, it’s tucked around your neck, bundled up against your chin and keeping you warm. taehyung walks beside you, like he does every day lately, having gotten ahold of your work schedule after some degree of coercing (read: taehyung asked nicely for it and when you hesitated, he - whether consciously or not, you’re not sure - gave you a look equivalent to that of a kicked puppy, and you caved within the next half-second).

you feel hyper-aware of his presence. it’s not entirely out of the ordinary for taehyung to walk you home - he showed up randomly plenty of times before just to do so - but now that he has your schedule, he waits outside whatever workplace you’re at for the day, every chance he gets.

you should be used to taehyung being beside you all the time. from begging to hang out with you when he was little, to simply materializing next to you now that you’re older, taehyung is always near you. but this feels far more intentional, and now you can’t not think about how close he is, the back of his hand brushing against yours as you walk back to your apartment.

it’s just not good for your heart. it’s racing much too fast considering the steady, slow pace you’re walking. you chance a glance at taehyung, but a seconds-long glance turns into minutes turns into you staring at him, studying all the features he’s grown into over the years.

taehyung really has gotten handsome, lately.

you know. objectively speaking.

strong eyebrows, kind eyes, a pretty curve to his lips. between the broad shoulders and the dark hair that falls over his forehead, taehyung looks straight out of a manga. it doesn’t help that he has a teasing smile on his - wait.

shit. he caught you.

you jerk your head away, but it’s too late. he smirks, leaning down slightly. “heard pictures last longer.”

you deadpan. “shut up.” he knows he’s pretty.

he invades your personal space, gets closer. you’d think someone who knows you and your cranky personality would know better than this, but that’s what happens when he also just knows you. you’ll never harm a hair on his head.

“why are you staring, sun?” you can hear the amusement in his voice. this is the taehyung that you know you’re entirely out of your depth with. you might’ve grown up with him, but even with all the time spent together, you know there’s parts of taehyung you don’t have an influence on. the parts that make your heart pound, the taehyung that you’re secretly thrilled by. he’s confident, maybe even a little cocky, and you’re certain this version of taehyung knows. he knows that if he pushes past the sarcasm and the facades and everything else you’ve layered on just to hide, that he has every bit as much an effect on you as you do on him.

he just lets you get away with it, most of the time.

“who’s staring?” you mutter defensively. “nobody’s staring. there’s nothing to stare at.”

he sidles in closer, but he never touches you. just gets close enough for you to feel all of his warmth. he’s teasing you, reminding you that he’s the only one who’s allowed to get this close - closer than people who are ‘just friends’ would normally be allowed.

in a poorly calculated decision, you make the mistake of whipping your head to face him, only to feel your breath cut short when you find his face barely a centimeter away from yours.

even taehyung seems to realize he maybe misjudged how much he can handle, too. ‘cause you’re definitely close enough to feel his breath, but he doesn’t seem to be breathing, either.

his eyes dip down. you press your lips together, inwards, shy at the way he looks at you. but the movement only draws his attention more, eyes focused on your lips.

“come over tomorrow,” you blurt, stumbling back a half-step. taehyung snaps out of it, straightening back to full height immediately.

“t-tomorrow?”

“tomorrow,” you say, resolutely, glad that you’re the one with the steady voice. “we can… eat together.”

taehyung’s eyes fall to your lips again, but quickly snap back up to your eyes. he smiles, and you feel yourself relax at the boyish look. “sure,” he agrees. “i’ll come over.”

what you forget to consider every single time you invite taehyung over is that you generally invite only him.

as in, you and him are generally always alone, because your roommates, unlike you, are much more fond of their social lives and are usually out and about.

this doesn’t normally pose a problem, except taehyung has been more daring recently, eyes sparking with mischief and affection, a lethal combination for you. it makes you nervous - excited - but now you’re left fidgeting as you wait for him to arrive, wondering which version of taehyung you’ll get today, while you’re alone in your apartment, with no other plans for the evening, and your roommates more likely than not to stay out for the night.

to your surprise, taehyung shows up with bags of groceries, beaming at you. confused, you let him in, and he drops them all over your counter. “i’ll cook today,” he announces, and you let out a short, hesitant laugh.

you do adore taehyung. in many ways. maybe the most well-known affiliation you have is with his sister, but the people closest to you know that your fondness for taehyung is unmatched, with or without your budding feelings for him that you’ve been trying (and failing) to keep in tight control of.

but regardless of how you feel, you know taehyung. and he is undoubtedly the definition of a younger sibling. you’re not even sure taehyung knows how to turn the stove on.

“do you even know how to cook?”

he looks mildly offended. you raise an eyebrow.

the shy, sheepish smile that forms slowly on his face gives you all the answers you need. “no,” he scratches the back of his neck. “but i’ll figure it out.”

“my god, taehyung,” you mutter, rubbing your forehead. still, you make zero effort to stop him as he shuffles about your kitchen, organizing groceries and locating pots and pans. “please don’t burn down a university-owned apartment building.”

he points a spatula at you. “no one else has burned it down yet. i probably won’t be the first.”

you should probably tell him that ‘probably’ is not a very convincing argument.

but he looks so earnest, and you don’t have the strength to keep him from at least trying. he’s at least researched a recipe beforehand, and taehyung is admittedly pretty adept at following instructions.

he scutters about the kitchen, recipe pulled up on his phone screen. when you peer at it he locks the screen, turning his nose up at you. you narrow your eyes at him. he tilts his chin in the direction of the seating at your kitchen counter. you study him for a minute longer, trying to gauge the probability of taehyung committing accidental arson. but he doesn’t relent, and you cave, settling into the chair to watch him closely.

satisfied that you’re seated, taehyung carefully sets about chopping scallions and whisking eggs. there’s rice cooking in a pot, and he looks deeply concentrated, eyebrows knit together. you smile fondly, watching him. “you sure you don’t want me to help?”

he responds only with an insistent shake of his head, so you settle for the time he’s granted you to just look at him. taehyung in the kitchen doesn’t exactly entirely put your heart at ease, but taehyung’s presence in your apartment does relax your shoulders, slows your breaths. you don’t have to think about anything else - your future, your finances, your grades - nothing else matters when taehyung is here. he grounds you, washes away worries that have felt so constant that you didn’t even realize how heavy they weighed on you until taehyung nudges them all away with a sweet smile.

every so often, taehyung breaks his concentration to look at you. he doesn’t ask, but the excuse you have for getting caught staring every time is that you’re just making sure he doesn’t cause injury, either to himself or to the apartment. you both know you just like looking at him, judging by the spark in his eyes, but he says nothing regardless.

there’s a memory yet to be made unfolding in your mind. it has taehyung wrapped around you in your kitchen, head tucked over your shoulder, a meal halfway done. it has content written all over you, a version of you that’s happier, without any of your demons still lurking in the corners.

you want to make it a reality. you want to feel his chest pressed against your back, want to lean into his touch and know that as long as taehyung’s around, you’ll be okay. he’ll take care of you. you’ll let him take care of you.

but you don’t have the confidence to find your way into his arms, not yet. you keep your distance, settling for memorizing the shape of taehyung bustling about, quietly humming as he plates things up, presenting you with a dish that looks altogether too familiar.

a simple dish. eggs, spam, corn. a sprinkle of scallions on top for color. absolutely not the recipe he looked up, and he looks pretty proud of himself, biting his lip and waiting for your approval.

“that’s not a recipe off google,” you accuse, though you’re sure there are versions of it online somewhere. but sky and taehyung’s parents make it on lazy days, and in many ways it’s become comfort food for the three of you.

“it could be,” he shrugs, then grins. “i asked my mom for the recipe last night.”

he piles rice into a bowl for you, then sits across from you, bright eyes watching as you take a bite. you sigh into it, satisfied. “kim taehyung, you didn’t burn the building down,” you tease, instead of giving him the praise he’s looking for.

his face does a thing it rarely does since he was eleven, eyebrows pinching in and lower lip jutting out, and you giggle, the sound immediately wiping away the look. you lean towards him. “thanks for cooking,” you say, sincerely. “tastes just like your mom’s.”

he mumbles something incoherent and ducks his head, but you catch the pleased look on his face, the pink on his cheeks. you make conversation about anything and everything, just to get those eyes back on you. it doesn’t take much effort, honestly.

the night ends with the two of you on your living room couch, you asleep on his shoulder, your roommate’s tv playing in the background.

taehyung doesn’t put his arm around you, doesn’t tug you in close, but the feeling still lingers.

that as long as taehyung’s around, you’ll be okay.

you stretch your arms over your head, cracking possibly every joint in your back and shoulders in the process. being hunched over a computer for four hours starting 8am to noon is not ideal for your posture.

“you should sit up straight when you work,” you hear, and you look around to find taehyung pushing himself off the building’s wall, a paper bag in hand.

“i should do a lot of things,” you counter, and he gives you a disapproving look but doesn’t press you. he shakes the bag instead.

“lunch?”

you bite your lip, eyeing the bag hopefully. you flick your eyes back up to his and nod rapidly. he grins.

he walks with you to the student center, unpacking the bag while you slide into your seat. he takes off the lids for you, hands you wrapped plastic utensils, doesn’t sit down until everything’s ready for you.

“where did you learn to do this kinda stuff, huh?” you tease, but he looks genuinely confused, blinking back at you.

“from you,” he states plainly, like it’s obvious, and you’re taken slightly aback. now you’re the one that’s confused, and he tilts his head. “you always do this for us,” he explains. “well, sky, mostly, but for the rest of us, too.”

“oh,” you mutter. flustered by his simple explanation, you jerk your gaze away from him and start digging through the food. his lips tug upwards into a smile, watching you pretend to be preoccupied.

all the years you spent taking care of your friends, you’ve never let anyone reciprocate. but taehyung wants to give it all back tenfold, wants you to feel every ounce of his affections, wants you to feel the same love you give out in boundless amounts to the people around you. he wants to give all of it, just to you.

he reaches over, brushes your hair over your shoulder. you look up at him, eyes round and large, and it feels like all the love you’ve ever poured into him is overflowing in his chest in this exact moment, decades worth of all the ways you cared for him without uttering a single word. you did it all without hesitation. like second nature.

taehyung is still learning, still figuring out how to do the same, but there is something he knows.

he loves you. without hesitation. like second nature.

maybe it’s just your soft spot for taehyung, but he has a way of convincing you to come home with him. sometimes, he uses sky as an excuse - come hang out, sun - sometimes he bribes you with food - i have dinner for you at home. come over, sun - and sometimes, he just looks at you hopefully, and you find yourself in the apartment he shares with his sister.

the first time you fell asleep over at their place was an accident. by the fifth time, you’re not sure it exactly qualifies as an accident anymore.

most nights you fall asleep on the couch together. it started with just your head on his shoulder, but somehow, you found yourself more and more often waking up with the two of you laying down, taehyung’s arm thrown over your waist and his face buried in your hair. on the days you have early shifts or classes, you wake alone, in time to catch taehyung emerging from the kitchen with a packed breakfast and a gaze so intensely affectionate, you have to look away from him.

he’s no longer hiding the way he feels about you, and it has your heart running double time in your chest.

when you wake up this time, you realize you’re not on the couch. sleepily, you peer around and realize you’re in taehyung’s room, in taehyung’s bed, with taehyung still pressed close, one arm slung over your waist, as usual.

it’s quiet, still early, judging from the dim light filtering through taehyung’s curtains. the last memory you can recall is being on the couch again, so you’re not sure how you wound up here.

you have absolutely no idea what to do.

taehyung is still fast asleep, so you try to subtly shift out of his arms. maybe you can go back to the couch and pretend you were never in his bed and then you don’t have to ask nor answer any of the questions that come with it. but taehyung’s arm around you tightens, and he makes a small, discontent noise. you freeze.

slowly, you turn your head towards his. mussed hair, closed eyes, and pretty, pretty lips. taehyung looks impossibly younger when he’s sleeping, and he’s so warm, the gentle pressure of his arm across your body so comforting. it wouldn’t be so bad, falling back asleep like this. with taehyung next to you.

that’s the excuse you make. you’d make any number of them, really, just to stay here. but they all drift out of your mind as your eyes flutter back shut, taehyung’s steady breaths lulling you back to sleep.

the second time you wake up, it’s to the sound of taehyung cursing under his breath.

“shit,” he mutters, sounding mildly panicked. “shit, fuck, shit.”

you stir. taehyung isn’t the type to curse often, so you blink your eyes open, one hand blindly reaching out for him as you try to wake up enough to focus. “tae?”

he stares back at you in alarm. he’s halfway up by the time your eyes finally land on him, but when he sees how your hand searches for his, he catches your wrist in a gentle hold. “right here,” he murmurs.

you smile, still half-asleep. “what’s wrong?”

he stills. “i-” he flounders a bit. “i didn’t - um. i swear i meant to go sleep on the couch last night, i just - i wanted you to take the bed for once, ‘cause the couch isn’t really comfortable, but i guess i fell asleep too - i’m sorry, i shouldn’t have even - i was just really tired-”

you let him babble for a couple more minutes, amused. admittedly, not all your brain cells are firing right now, still drowsy, but flustered, rambly taehyung is a rare, endearing sight you’d like to indulge in for just a bit.

when you start to see the pink dust his cheeks, you decide to take pity on him, pressing a hand to his cheek. he quiets immediately, leaning into your touch. “sorry,” he mumbles one last time.

you breathe out a laugh. “don’t tell anyone,” you try to tease, but you mean it a little too much. “but you’re my favorite, my star.”

he looks at you. you don’t know what changes in this moment. maybe it’s because it’s so quiet, with the world still waking up; or maybe because you both know sky isn’t home, having gone over to namjoon’s the night before, so the apartment is empty, just the two of you; or maybe because you’re both still sleepy and warm and so, so close, but taehyung shifts, the hand holding your wrist pressing it gently to the spot beside your head, so taehyung can hover just above you. you stare up at him, everything moving in slow motion. his nose brushes against yours, and you tilt your head up, searching for him. waiting for him to meet you in the middle.

there’s sparks, all over. tingles down your spine, the way taehyung kisses you slowly. the hesitance in the beginning, then the soft press of his lips against yours, like he can’t resist you. drawn to you, the hand holding your wrist moving to tangle with your fingers. the hand you had cupping his cheek slides into his hair at the nape of his neck, tugging him closer.

it might be cliché, but you don’t care: kissing taehyung feels like coming home.

when he pulls away for air, he lets out a sort of disbelieving huff of laughter, like he can’t believe you let him kiss you. there’s a happy light in your eyes, your grin spreading from cheek to cheek, and his heart stutters in his chest like he hasn’t seen that smile almost every day of his life.

he ducks his head next to yours, hair tickling your skin. ever so close, you can hear the smile in his voice when he whispers, “you’re my favorite, too, sun.”

you’ve never told anyone before, but there’s a reason taehyung is your star. his sister remains the sky, your whole world, but taehyung is your star because you learned long ago that the sun, too, is a star. and if you’re so lucky to be considered the light amidst the sky, then you’ll be shameless enough to wish to always linger amongst the stars, too. because you want to always be next to him.

SPRING 2024 ANIME RECOMMENDATIONS

The anime industry needs to chill the fuck out. Literally stop. This isn't your heart.

If you somehow have time left over after the 86,000 returning series this season, watch these new cartoons also.

ZACK’S RECOMMENDATION #1: Kaiju No. 8

For the sake of full disclosure, I ended up dropping this manga after about a year when due to a number of reasons I had to play catch-up on a bunch of Jump and Jump+ titles. I ultimately decided cuts needed to be made and this was one of them, but I made that cut with the full knowledge that it would eventually get a kick-ass anime and I was right because I’m always right.

The anime looks better than I’d hoped and sounds better than I imagined. The background music sounds like something from a blockbuster movie, and I mean that as a compliment, considering that's basically what it is. Even if you’re not really into kaiju, this is still worth checking out. Unless you’re allergic to beautiful animation and/or poop jokes.

ZACK’S RECOMMENDATION #2: A SALAD BOWL FULL OF ECCENTRICS

This series became a lock for my recommendation this season (even over the train anime, which is very good and you should also watch) the moment I discovered it’s based on a light novel by the same guy who wrote Haganai and A Sister’s All You Need. I’ve never read any of the novels in question because I’m illiterate but I enjoy both of those anime very much (though I will admit that the latter is not for everyone). Haganai transed my gender and for that reason alone I will support Yomi Hirasaka (by watching and recommending anime adaptations of his books. Alas! if I could only read) ‘til my dying day.

This was a solid premier on its own merits, as well. The characters are fun and likeable, the jokes land pretty much every time (at the very least, I can’t immediately think of any that didn’t), and reverse isekai stories are still uncommon enough to be fun. There is the unfortunately ever-present concern that Our Hero will turn out to be a sex pest, but based on Hirasaka’s track record I’m not too worried about that. Really, more than Haganai or A Sister’s All You Need, the anime this premier kept making me think of the most was Hanamatsuri (side note: you should watch Hanamatsuri.)

Also, look at her. She’s reading Detective Conan. I’m reading Detective Conan. That’s so cool of both of us.

CHARLIE’S RECOMMENDATION #1: Chillin’ in Another World with Level 2 Cheat Powers

Fairly standard fare for the cozy isekai sub-genre, but it’s a decent way to spend half an hour, if you don’t mind the harem aspects.

CHARLIE’S RECOMMENDATION #2: Grandpa and Grandma Turn Young Again

It was fine, I guess. Watched it because the premise seemed cute, and I wasn’t wrong. Felt like a short comic but animated, and the art was good. Really wish they didn’t have family members lusting after the grandparents, though.

Lookism Random Headcannons (Because why not?)

Read the recent chapter recently and I am excited about the King of Soul's entrance (if ever)

Daniel watches anime since he thinks it's more entertaining than dramas. At some point he also wanted to become a manga artist but quickly gave up on it. His favorite is probably the classics (Naruto, One Piece, One Punch Man, DBZ, and he also likes the recent ones.)

Zack and Johan used to watch WWE matches together while Mira scolds them that they scream too loud when they're watching Royal Rumble lmao.

Undertaker was Johan's favorite WWE wrestler but thinking about it makes Johan embarrassed since he doesn't want to be seen as an edge lord or "emo or a goth" lol. Zack Lee's favorites are probably Edge, Brock Lesnar, and Randy Orton (idk I watch a little bit of WWE in my free time don't blame me).

Since Jay lived mostly alone in his apartment for who knows how long, he was thought by his butler to cook his own food since he doesn't really want to depend on them fully and make them exhausted. (Plus he's mostly bored, so why not cook and bake?) He almost burned his apartment once trying to fry an egg at first.

Hudson might not admit it but he also binges anime like Daniel. He believes that Makima sucks and the ones who defends her are simps (I mean she's a well written antagonist but her personality is a no).

Goo Kim = Cat Girl/ Cat Boy enthusiast (likes wearing low-budgeted cosplays A LOT for his own entertainment).

Goo Kim had stolen Gun's credit cards for his own shopping spree. Not once, not twice, but MANY TIMES.

Samuel might not admit it but he actually likes Jake and Big Deal. He just keeps denying it because of his ego issues.

Jerry had once owned a winter dwarf pet hamster. He properly took care for it for like 2 years and named her Bisky. But since hamsters have short lifespans, it died later on and he cried and didn't sleep well the following days since he missed her deeply. The shrine of it is still staying still on his backyard and he mostly replaces the flowers everyday or i he's not busy to pay tribute to her.

Daniel wanted to learn how to play the guitar or a ukulele but since his mom was struggling with their budget he cannot ask her to buy him one.

Jay can play drums (and teaches Daniel when having sleep overs!)

Mary can play bass and a little bit of guitar. And she secretly listens to rock, metal, and the alternative style of music since she doesn't want to be teased as emo by Vin the asshole lmao.

Avril Lavigne is the reason why Mary dyed her hair blonde you can't change my mind (not forcing you but listen to her music IT'S SO GOOD). She would like to have a friend (if not a girl friend not a girlfriend) who shares the same music taste with her to start a band.

Zack and Vin Jin used to bully kids on Roblox to boost their ego (Zack stopped because of his character development but probably Vin still does it lol).

Younger Kouji had once ate lots of candies and sweets to be "smart like L" from Death Note but almost got diabetes.

Gun and DG wears lip balms to keep their lips plump and smooth. DG had once teased Gun about being a model while Gun just smirks about it.

Mira SECRETLY LIKES Ayesha Erotica's music because of the edits on TikTok but since it's mostly explicit she's refraining to add her compositions on her Spotify playlists.

Since Vasco is mostly hardworking, there are times that he passes the exams (with the help of Jace and other Burn Knuckle members). But he just cannot push himself more to pass the Mathematics exams.

Eli had once tried to kiss Warren after their fight because of his innocence and curiosity before all the Hostel Drama. (I personally don't ship them but I just feel like it's something past Eli would do). They both cringe when they both remember it.

Doo Lee was once a Twitter influencer but because of his past dramas he was cancelled in social media.

Jibeom accidentally smashed Jihan's face when they were little when they are trying to imitate WWE stunts. Jichang was surprised to see his little brother's teeth getting cracked and falling off and he just didn't cried (it was Jibeom who shed tears because of guilt lol).

Crystal is a big fan of "vintage-core" or everything around the older eras because she believes that it doesn't only represents the beauty and evolution of human pop-culture but it also represents history. She always won on auctions to buy antique stuff and mostly donate it on museums to preserve it's structure while she kept some on her room. She almost got canceled by bidding on an authentic Marilyn Monroe's lipstick but she later on posted on Twitter that she donated it on a museum (which is not a fake news).

Gun doesn't eat too much fast-food products because he believes it's unhealthy and has chemicals to make the customers' crave for more (Goo teases him about this by dramatically eating an order of a large McDonald's French Fries in front of his annoyed face).

Ryuhei never kissed a woman in his life because of his nervousness. He secretly was weirded out by it so he lies that he had slept with many women to not be bullied by other people.

Vasco doesn't know how to properly wear a watch and a belt (ngl same I'm that stupid). He also doesn't know how to tie his shoe lace.

Jace prefers dark-chocolate rather than milk or white chocolate. Because he believes that since it has more cocoa content it can boost more of his energy and sharpen his mind and focus especially when taking his exams and quizzes.

Sally's favorite color was purple as she planned to dye her hair with her color of choice with a mix of indigo. But since she's afraid that it won't suit her, she changed her plans and went on to dye her hair with strawberry pink. She didn't expected it to look magnificent on her since Warren complimented her, so after that her favorite color was switched to baby or strawberry pink.

Mitsuki thinks that K-Pop music is cringe but she secretly has BTS, Twice, and Blackpink on her Spotify playlists. Ryuhei found out about this and she was pissed off up until this day lol.

Doo Lee once had a girlfriend who uses him for the money. She later on cheated with a new "handsome and charming" guy and when Doo found out he was FURIOUS. He later on was captured on camera beating the dude and when people found out he was canceled again on social media (pretty privileges never ends). He later on begged Daniel and Duke to make an apology video for him which looks so weird and scripted since Doo was pushing them. But luckily the drama heated down.

Magami Kenta's favorite vape flavors are watermelon, strawberry, and coffee.
