The Disconnect
Tumblr media
Prompt: My random headcanon that pretty much just focuses on that odd... difference in vibe between Billy as himself vs when he's in his superhero form.
Timeline: Both movies
TW/Content: None, just me talking just to talk fr
Reader: None
Requested By: My damn self😼🫶🏽

Tumblr media
So like, duh, Moon and I have like... constant headcannons for like, every single person ever in the Shazam movies. And I did plan to write/list 'em out and post at some point. But this one is my biggest one, so I think it deserves its own post🤷🏽‍♀️.
Anyone who's seen just either one of the movies is pretty aware of that... weird little (but noticeable) disconnect between Asher Angel's Billy Batson and Zachary Levi's Shazam. Asher is a damn good Billy, while Zachary... he's good at being Shazam and acting like a kid who doesn't know what he's doing (which is the overall plot, ofc), but I just can't/don't believe him to be Asher's Billy, if that makes sense (??).
So, while yes, this is a little jarring for viewers, if you're anything like me, you know it's kind of not the end of the world and can be bypassed/looked over. Fixed, even, if had been given the proper attention to do such. And what better way to do that than through some good ol' writer brain🤷🏽‍♀️?
My in-media headcanon for why Billy acts so differently in his super-powered adult form is because he simply just becomes heaps more confident. He knows he's invincible to most things, he's got all these different and god-like powers and abilities, etcetc... So natrually, with those things comes an overwhelming and amazing sense of security, right? Therefore, leading to a surging amount of both confidence/ego and recklessness that you might not see come from some vulnerable, hard-knock-life-stricken, defensive kid.
It also gives him more freedom to come out of his shell (almost forces him to, really), hence why it becomes so much easier for him to talk to/interact with others while he's in his adult form. He almost wants to, because of that classic teenage boy need to show off (for the ladiesss😼🫶🏽⚡️). He gains the chance to actually be a kid, frfr, because he had to grow up and learn to care for himself so soon. Because, hell, it's not like he knew if his powers were a privilege he was gonna get to keep🤷🏽‍♀️. Gotta make the most of it.
Not to mention, poor boy has probably felt all alone and helpless all his life. Constantly having to do things on his own, constantly worried about how he's gonna get by and/or where he's gonna end up next. These abilities are like a free "out", if ykwim. He can essentially do whatever he wants, go wherever he wants now that he can just fly off somewhere...
I'd be eager to run around and do the most over the top shit, too, if it had been me. As Freddy once said, "I'd kill to have what you have...".
Plus, I mean, he is a teenager. A teenage boy, at that. I'm pretty sure no matter how hard and tall you've set up your shell, at the end of the day, if you randomly got superpowers n shit, you'd act a little bit out of normal character, too. Especially if your "normal character" are/is a bunch of walls n shit you've built up to protect yourself from the things that, you now no longer have to, because again... SUPERPOWERS!!
So, to try and wrap this all up, I, personally, am one to believe there's nothing a fanfic or a headcanon can't fix, hence... this lmao. And that's pretty much my way to try and fix/make sense of that disconnect between acting styles so I can properly hyperfixate in peace lmfao. And hopefully, now that you've seen this, you can, too :).
Okay, the end, that's it, goodbye🫶🏽😼.
Tumblr media
Headcannons on all characters to come relatively soon, y'all, I promise🫡💕.

Hi again! :) I just started to watch Scooby Doo and Guess Who today, and I love the concept of introducing celebs. I love it because its not new, it's a callback to the og episodes with sonny and Cher, and batman!
If the show hadn't been cancelled, who would you want to guest star? (I watched a clip of the gang meeting their voice actors and it made my day, I was feeling down. I only thought they would meet frank welker too so it was a really nice surprise!)
Hi!

Link to muse page (muses are subject to being updated at all times
Link to kinks
Link to open starters
Rules
1. Communicate. If I messed up or you want something changed etc, be a grown up and talk to me
2. Remember real life takes precedence. I may not have time, energy or muse to reply at times. Respect that and I will do the same for you
3. Be patient (see above). It is fine to dm me to see if I saw your reply but don’t dm me every hour asking when I will reply in turn
4. Don’t change my muses characteristics in your reply
5. Don’t be a dick
6. Don’t judge. My muses are kinky and they also like bad guys (killers etc as long as said bad guy doesn’t kill or try to kill or inflict bodily harm on my muse)
******
About replies: mine and yours:
1. This is rp. Play. It is supposed to be fun. It is not a livelihood or life and death. Real life takes precedence. Real life meaning: family, health, school, energy level, friends, and many more things. You rp when you want to and can and are in the mood. That is the way it should be and I respect that and want you to do the same.
2. What you are in the mood for varies. It is not a personal attack if you have inspiration for some threads and not others. Again I understand that and expect you to do the same
3. Communicate: this is a BIG one. I don’t mean DM every hour going ‘don’t you want to rp anymore’ if you haven’t gotten a reply to a thread. I DO mean, tell your partner if you want to start over or there is something you want changed. DMs are not always a clear means of communicating, don’t assume your partner meant to offend or to break a rule. Communicate and see if you can get on common
4. Read their tumblr. They might have put a PSA or post explaining why there is a delay or that they don’t have muse for certain things at the time. There is NOTHING more frustrating then stating in a post and then having a follower ask you a question you just answered in plain sight on your tumblr
5. For me icons, gifs, photos are not required on a reply, nor is a particular font size or format etc. not everyone has the same tools, or comfort level with such things so why be dictator or anal about something that, again, should be fun
6. That said I would like to know what your muse looks like
7. I rarely drop threads. It may be I don’t have the muse for some threads at times, while I do for others. I will get back to the ones that are pending. Please be patient. IF I do drop or need to drop a thread, I will proactively reach out to you to let you know. If I haven’t done that? Again I will reply in time when the muse for that returns
A couple of other things while I am on the subject:
I do have banned fcs: some because I find the individual repulsive, most just because they don’t do anything for me. See list below
*****
Banned fcs
Darren Criss
Chris Pratt
Armie Hammer
Johnny Depp
Adam Driver
Sebastian Stan

Chris Evans
Jason Momoa
Ben Affleck
Zachary Levi
Misha Collins

Zachary Levi's Shazam 2 Co-Star Wants to be Paid By the Hour for 'Snow White' - Makes Revolutionary Demand for Streaming Services - FandomWire
"In a revolutionary step emphasizing the evolving landscape of the entertainment sector, Rachel Zegler, renowned for her role alongside Zachary Levi in Shazam 2, has adopted an unprecedented perspective on streaming service compensation. Amid her active involvement in the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, she fervently supports a remuneration framework that boldly challenges traditional norms.

Snow White’s Star Rachel Zegler Seeks Payment Per Streaming Hour
In a daring and visionary leap, Rachel Zegler, the radiant luminary set to grace the upcoming Snow White reimagining, has sparked a resounding dialogue that resonates across the ever-shifting picture of the entertainment sphere.

The groundbreaking Zegler now finds herself entangled in an unknown whirlpool of controversy. Fresh from her participation in the SAG-AFTRA strike, the actress’s candid response has spurred the digital world, stoking discussions far and wide.
Positioned as the intangible Snow White in the much-anticipated 2024 performance, the 22-year-old shares the cinematic stage with luminaries Gal Gadot, Ansu Kabia, Martin Klebba, and Andrew Burnap.
Amid the strike in a media conversation that captures her unwavering attitude, Zegler proposed,
“If I’m going to stand there 18 hours in a dress of an iconic Disney princess, I deserve to be paid for every hour that it is streamed online.”

However, passionate supporters added their voices to the conversation as her demand merged with the overall strike theme, expressing a range of thoughts that are often seemed by a sense of unease.
Yet, as the artist strives for her request to be fulfilled, her upcoming film is in the midst of controversy and has encountered a wave of criticism.
Controversy Surrounding The Upcoming Snow White Remake Arises
The imminent release of Disney’s live-action Snow White remake, scheduled for March 2024, has been enveloped in a whirlwind of controversy.
Anticipation for the reimagined classic has stirred debates across multiple fronts due to revelations about casting and plot adjustments. Starring Zegler of West Side Story fame as the titular character, the forthcoming film promises a departure from its 1937 animated predecessor.

Critics have voiced concerns, accusing Disney of reshaping the storyline to promote a feminist agenda, impacting Prince Charming’s role. The West Side Story star shared her insights with the media. She stated,
“Snow White is not going to be saved by the prince and she’s not going to be dreaming about true love. She’s dreaming about becoming the leader she knows she can be and the leader that her late father told her that she could be if she was fearless, fair, brave, and true.”
She emphasized that the new rendition acknowledges the changing times and envisages Snow White’s aspirations for leadership, in line with her late father’s counsel.
Snow White’s transformation from a dreamer of true love to a fearless, fair, brave, and true leader has sparked debates, highlighting the intriguing blend of tradition and innovation."
I don't know who talked Disney into this insulting, toxic, feminist, "WE DON'T NEED MEN!" Snow White version, which will NOT be suitable for kids, or in hiring Rachel Zegler, star of the over-hyped West Side Story, but BOY! Did they get raw-dogged. She hasn't been in any hits, is loud, abrasive, pretty clearly going for her Artist As Activist street cred, and I just saw clips of her in interviews, endlessly talking about herself. If it were me, I'd just shelve the whole damn film.
Hollywood, we see you.

Dawn of the DCU: What does this mean for the future?
P.S: Before I start this, this is in no way focusing on the new comic book relaunch for the DC comics, it is an homage.
As we know it, the DC Universe has been through a rocky path. For the past few years, the movies have taken plenty of shots. Some of those shots hit, but others missed the target.
The Zack Snyder era started with Man of Steel and ended with his departure on Justice League. From then on, Walter Hamada took over to carve a new path. Then, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson decided to try his hand at helping the DCU. He literally became the most electrical man in entertainment as Black Adam.
Now, James Gunn and Peter Safran are put on the task of rebuilding the DCU. They announced a video that would relaunch the iconic comic book company's floundering film universe. They have also stated previously that certain films will not be affected by this.
This is House of Milesverse, where we talk about many things focused on pop culture. Today, I will talk to you about the DCU, and what we should be looking forward to.
THE NOW:
Currently, there are still many DCU projects in production. Several of these projects will not be affected by the coming changes. This is good for fans who have gotten attached to some of these characters.
Shazam: Fury of The Gods
Tumblr media
Shazam was met with plenty of surprise and approval from fans. Naturally, a sequel for the film was greenlit by Warner Bros. It was supposed to relay in 2020, however, it was hit with another delay. This shunted it to November 4, 2022, and then again to March 17, 2023.
The film is confirmed to be unaffected by the impending relaunch. In addition, Gunn has also stated that he is interested in retaining Zachary Levi as Shazam.
I, for one, am excited to see Shazam's potential in future films. The first film showed me how cool of a character he can be. I hope that we can also see him and Superman actually team up.
Aquaman 2: The Lost Kingdom
Tumblr media
Fans have waited to see the next chapter of James Wan's Aquaman. The first movie was already a thrilling piece that helped reshape people's perception of the character. In reality, this is not the first attempt to make Aquaman "cool" for people. Geoff Johns took a similar stand with his run on the character.
So far, we do not know much about the story. However, we have seen images of Aquaman's suit. I quite like the blue combo and I think Jason Momoa pulls it off well.
The film has been hit with multiple delays in the past due to COVID-19. However, the film was given a release date, of December 25, 2023.
In the midst of the film's delays, there was also the conflict between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp. Multiple fans petitioned for the actress to be replaced. Whether she will be replaced or not in the sequel is unknown.
The sad truth of The Lost Kingdom is that it is the final installment of the DC Extended Universe. Everything that has previously been built up will end here. There are rumors that Jason Momoa is in the talks to play Lobo.
The Flash:
Tumblr media
The Flash has been getting delayed since the second season of his TV series. Director changes, COVID-19 delays, and a few post-production setbacks further hindered this. Now, the film is set to be released on June 16, 2023.
Flash is an integral piece of ending the DCEU and beginning the DC Universe. The film is set to be a large relaunch for DC, helping to usher in their new projects. The inspiration for this likely comes from Flashpoint, which the film seems to be doing.
The film will also see the debut of Sasha Calle's Supergirl. Michael Keaton will also reprise his role as Batman. Keaton was originally the Batman for Tim Burton's series.
The film is caught up in a web of various controversies. Ezra Miller's erratic behavior has left a bad impression on multiple viewers. Ezra has been accused of disorderly conduct, assault, burglary, and the grooming of minors. Currently, Ezra is seeking treatment for their issues.
Many fans have called to have Ezra recast as Barry Allen. Whether this will happen or not is unknown. For now, some people at DC seem intent on retaining Ezra.
Blue Beetle:
Tumblr media
Blue Beetle is the most recent project of this list. The story is set to portray the young Jaime Reyes' and his adventures. The character will be portrayed by Xolo Meriduena. You would probably know him as Miguel from Cobra Kai.
So far, the film's release date is set at August 18, 2023. The good thing about this film is that it is set in its own corner. Gunn has confirmed that it will likely be a part of the DC Universe. He has also said that the film will directly follow Flash's universe reset.
The DC Universe: What is it?
The DC Universe, or 'DCU' for short, is the new relaunch of the DC Extended Universe. This film universe will not only succeed its predecessor but also have a cohesive path. It will be manned by James Gunn (Of Guardians of The Galaxy fame), and Peter Safran.
The DC Universe will also act as a franchise for animated series and video games. They will cross between various mediums in the series. I love this because it adds another layer to the film universe.
James Gunn announced all of this on January 31st, 2022. He also went in-depth on what projects will be a part of the slate. This slate is also intended to last for 8-10 years between development. The first chapter of this franchise will be titled Gods and Monsters.
I will personally go into this slate for you guys.
Movies:
Superman: Legacy
Tumblr media
The first thing to round out this list is Superman: Legacy. It was announced in December that Superman was getting recast. The reception to this event was split, with some fans even wanting Henry Cavill to stay. I can personally agree, but I am also glad that the guy gets to do his own things now. He's currently working on a Warhammer series.
We currently do not know who the actor is. Rumors said that Wolfgang Novogratz would portray Superman. This is just a rumor though and does not hold much weight.
So far, what we do know is that this story will follow a 25-year-old Superman. James Gunn will serve as the writer for this film. The film will likely be inspired by All-Star Superman, written by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely. The movie's release date is set for July 11, 2025.
I can understand why people wanted Henry Cavill to stay. He never got the chance to play Superman right, as a bright protector. Man of Steel and Batman Vs. Superman both focused on darker, more sullen versions of the character.
I still welcome this new iteration of the character with excitement. However, I hope that they choose to use one of his more underrated villains. I think Parasite, Livewire or Metallo could be perfect for this.
What I also love about this story is that it will forego retelling his story. I think Superman, Spiderman, and Batman all suffer from this problem. It feels like new movies are starting to skip retelling the same origin over and over again.
The Authority:
Tumblr media
The Authority for me was something of a wildcard pick. I genuinely did not anticipate them wanting to create a movie like this. However, I still welcome it because of how cool it could be.
For those that do not know, The Authority comes from Wildstorm Studios. Wildstorm was founded by Jim Lee (The same current Creative Officer of DC Comics) and published stories. These stories included WildC.A.T.s, Gen13, Stormwatch, and The Authority.
DC Comics eventually bought Wildstorm as an imprint in 1999. They continued publishing stories until 2010. However, characters and certain elements would still persist. Currently, DCU seems intent on using the Wildstorm characters.
The Authority are a team of superheroes that get the job done by any means necessary. So, I guess this just makes them 'antiheroes' instead. The team cares little for politics, and instead chooses to act outside of the law.
The team consisted of:
Jenny Sparks, who could manipulate powerful electricity. Jenny is a Century Baby, representing the spirit of the 20th century. She founded the group, but later died and was replaced by Jenny Quantum.
Apollo, the 'Sun God', and a fairly powerful superhuman. He is Midnighter's boyfriend, and also is inspired by Superman.
Midnighter, a vigilante who is also known as 'Night's Bringer of War'. He is Apollo's boyfriend, and also is inspired by Batman.
The Doctor, a dutch drug addict, and shaman. He is gifted with powerful mystical abilities.
The Engineer, the second person to bear the mantle. Nanites replaced her blood and enable her to shape her body into weapons.
Swift, a Tibetan monk by the name of Shen Li-Min. She is known as the Winged Huntress and has bird-like wings and claws.
The team is also joined by Jenny Quantum, the spirit of the 21st century. She was later adopted by Apollo and Midnighter.
So far, I have not read the original Authority stories. However, I look forward to seeing them show up. James Gunn helped make Guardians of The Galaxy big. Chances are, he can do the same for The Authority.
Brave and The Bold:
Tumblr media
This is probably my favorite entry on the list of stories. Batman is getting a new film set in the DCU. The film will help reintroduce the character, after erasing Ben Affleck's Batman.
What I also like about this is that it is the return of Robin in film. I think ever since the Chris O'Donnell version in 1995, the films have shied away from using him. The dynamic duo has just become the dynamic one, outside of a few references.
However, Robin is just as integral a part of the Batman mythos as Alfred. Naturally, I was excited to know that they were going to introduce one.
My only problem with it is that I think the choice of Robin is weird. I get that Damian Wayne is popular, but I figure they would have waited. It seems we are also getting a younger Batman to go with them. They could have introduced Dick Grayson or Tim Drake and then built up to having Damian.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow
Tumblr media
The next project is Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. This is based off of the eponymous book by Tom King. So far, we do not know anything about this project.
I personally hope Sasha Calle gets another chance to play Kara Zor-El. She was one of the parts of Flash that I was looking forward to. I also would like to see how the films could transform the classic Supergirl design.
Swamp Thing:

This is another project that we do not know much about. What has been said about it is that it plans to explore the character's monster origins. James Mangold is also attached to direct the film.
I like that this story will be a tonal change compared to the others. It gives the universe a sense of variety. Between the various superhero archetypes, you have a monster learning to be human.
TV Series:
Several TV shows were also announced as a part of the slate. These shows aim to help build upon the layers set by the movies. They also can show more weird corners of the DC Universe.
Waller:
Tumblr media
Starting this list off is Waller, a series featuring Viola Davis' iteration of the character. I am personally excited for her because I liked her performance in the last two films. I hope this story also could crossover with Peacemaker, another Suicide Squad spin-off series.
Creature Commandos:
Tumblr media
Creature Commandos will be an animated series written and produced by James Gunn. The series is set to explore a stranger corner of the DC Universe. The series will be set on the HBO Max streaming service.
From the picture above, you can already make out some of the key players. Rick Flag Sr., Nina Mazursky, Doctor Phosphorus, Frankenstein, the Bride of Frankenstein, G.I. Robot, and Weasel. Weasel is not the only returning star from Suicide Squad, Viola Davis will also show up.
What I also like about this is that actors will be retained across mediums. The same people who voice these characters will also help bring them to life on the live screen. I think it is a wonderful blend between two mediums.
Lanterns:
Tumblr media
Initially last year, there was news about there being a Green Lantern HBO Max series. I was excited by the initial prospect of seeing the Lanterns across the decades. However, the series was eventually cancelled.
What I believe really happened was that the series was rewritten. The idea was redeveloped into Lanterns. Lanterns will focus on Hal Jordan and John Stewart.
Seeing two of my favorite lanterns in the spotlight is going to be awesome. In particular, I am excited about what dark mystery hangs over the series' narrative. I hope that we can see other lanterns like Kilowog or Soranik Natu as well.
Paradise Lost:
Tumblr media
Last year, it was announced that Patty Jenkins would not be moving forward with the DCU. In fact, I think that can also be said for Wonder Woman 3 as well. For now, it seems the movie is stuck in a perpetual limbo, with no one attached to it.
So far, the only project announced for Wonder Woman is Paradise Lost. Paradise Lost is a different type of DCU series. It instead plays on intrigue and political drama. The series was likened to Game of Thrones by James Gunn.
I do not know what this means for Gal Gadot's character. Whether she is recast or stays onboard the new universe is a mystery. I hope that if she does get recast, she gets a nice send-off.
Booster Gold:
Tumblr media
Booster Gold is one of the most awesome DCU characters I know. I love the message of someone looking for fame who eventually becomes a hero. Booster's deep down a sweet person, it's just hidden behind his fake media persona.
Booster Gold's series has no date yet. However, I am excited to see the series brought to the small screen. I hope that they find someone who can pull off Booster's smug personality.
I hope that Booster Gold can also form an interaction with Blue Beetle. I would like to see Ted Kord show up so that he can be best friends with Booster like in the comics. Even if they only plan on using Jaime, I am okay with that.
IN CONCLUSION:
Tumblr media
I am excited.
I think that for the longest time, DC's film universe has been met with mixed approval. I have always hoped that DC would eventually rebuild their slate. For a while, it felt like they were just throwing things at a wall to see what they can do.
Now, the wheels are actually spinning. There are projects laid out by James Gunn. This all feels like one big, great future for children to be excited in.
I hope to see more fan favorites in the future, to be honest. I would love to see them tackle Green Arrow and Black Canary. Or, maybe, they can reintegrate Michael B. Jordan's Static project into the film. Heck, I would kill to see them tackle a Teen Titans film!
Overall? I approve. I hope that you all enjoyed this place. I will come out with another post later to tackle Transformers: Rise of The Beasts. Also? Feel free to tell me what project you are excited about.

If the rebooting of the DCEU were in my hands, I'd keep Jason Mamoa as Aquaman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Zachary Levi as Shazam, the current JSA members as. . . well. . . the JSA members, Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam, & Ben Afleck as Batman (although replacing him with a younger Batman might be a good idea). I'd redo the Green Lantern movie but with a few changes, like replacing Hal Jordan with John Stewart or just adding him as Earth's other GL. Plus, I'd keep General Swanwick AKA Martian Manhunter & the current Cyborg. In addition, I'd introduce Blue Beetle, Firestorm, Captain Atom, Supergirl, all the Teen Titans, Mon-El, Black Lightning, & Icon (since some people apparently want a black Superman). I'd definitely still replace Ezra Miller as Flash though (& probably Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman too).

Why Black Adam Needed Amanda Waller Explained By Editor
Why Black Adam Needed Amanda Waller Explained By Editor
The editor of Black Adam explains why Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller needed to appear in the DCU movie. After years of being stuck in development hell, Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam movie has finally opened in theaters, bringing the iconic antihero into the DCU (formerly known as the DCEU). Initially set to make his debut in the Shazam! film with Zachary Levi, Johnson convinced Warner Bros. to give his…
