alright so i did a thing...

here is some art of some of the characters from the muck of merkmere. more specifically david, geribold henry, henrietta henry, and julia indisguise

everyone except david is meant to be a teenager because of the whole "dead by the age of 14" thing. i don't know how good a job i did in making them look ~14 but they are visibly younger than david so i count it as a win

i had a lot of fun with david. he's a character i've sketched before. it turns out drawing rich assholes is pretty fun! plus we got some descriptions of his clothing, which made designing him a lot easier

with geribold i really tried to capture the murderous teenager vibes. he is absolutely glaring at david in that moment and thinking of decapitating him. he's also in dire need of a haircut

it's kind of obvious that henrietta was a bit rushed. i had a different pose for her at first but i didn't like that one and by the time i came to that conclusion i was getting a bit frustrated with sketching. so her clothing especially ended up a bit shabby. but i don't hate how she turned out

i also had some trouble with julia. i already have a hard time shading straight hair and everything with more than a slight wave in it is a real challenge. so i don't know how i did with that. i had a lot of fun rendering her though :)

if i keep feeling creative, i might draw more play it by ear or off book characters. we'll just have to see!
