He was your best friend. He was your soulmate. Sirius knew how you felt. You knew how he felt. However, you were scared. You didn’t want to lose him. He was one of the most important people in your life. You knew that trying to push your feelings away was the safest option, as of now, but how long would you be able to keep them locked up?
You tried to tell yourself that you and Sirius would be awful together. But every time a thought like this crossed your mind, you knew it was a lie. He would treat you like a princess. You could laugh together; he would still make fun of you, and you would do the same to him. Whenever the two of you were together, it felt natural. It felt like the universe knew that you were meant for one another, but the more you thought about it, the more anxious you got.
Another precaution you took was to spend as little time with Sirius as possible. It was easier said than done, seeing as though both of you were Gryffindors and you had mutual friends. However, for the last couple of days, you had been quite successful, only catching a quick glimpse of him whenever you entered or exited the Great Hall.
Today you weren’t as lucky as the other times.
You were one of the last students to pack up your things after another lesson on Transfiguration when you turned around and bumped into another person. You instantly knew who it was without even looking at him. Just his smell made the butterflies in your stomach go crazy.
“Sirius, hey.”, you said to him as if it was the first time you’d seen one another all day. Of course, you had seen him walk into the classroom. You had stolen glances at him every few minutes during Transfiguration, and you knew he did the same thing, yet whenever he looked your way, you quickly averted your gaze and looked at Professor McGonagall again.
It felt like a lifetime ago that you had a proper conversation with your best friend, and you had to be honest with yourself, you missed him. You missed everything about him. His smile, his laugh, his touch. But there was still that pinch of anxiety in the back of your mind.
“You’ve been avoiding me.”, Sirius stated matter-of-factly.
A sad sigh escaped your lips as you shook your head, pushing another book inside your bag before you heaved it onto your shoulder. For the first time, in what felt like forever, you looked up into Sirius’ eyes, your heart breaking into small pieces once you noticed the worried expression on his face.
You absentmindedly bit your lower lip as you nervously started to play with your fingers. You knew you couldn’t lie to him. You have known each other ever since your first train ride on the Hogwarts Express. The two of you sat opposite each other. You were a rather shy little girl who wasn’t great at making new friends, however, Sirius was different. He started to talk to you as soon as your bottom hit the seat. He wanted to know everything about you, and although you had only given him one- or two-word answers, he kept talking until you had arrived at Hogwarts.
“y/n”, Sirius whispered your name, snapping you out of your daydream as you felt his hand grab one of yours, trying to make you stop fumbling.
“I don’t know what to say. And I really have to go.”, you announced quietly, pulling your hand away from his before you marched past him, your eyes getting a bit glassy.
“You’re not running away from me.”, you heard him say as he grabbed your arm, preventing you from exiting the classroom and getting as far away from him as possible.
“I really have to get to my next class.” “We don’t have another class until this afternoon, and you know this, so stop running away.”
You had never seen or heard Sirius be this serious before. The only time he had been this way was when he had told you all about his family and the way they had treated him once they found out he didn’t get into Slytherin.
You quickly wiped away the tears that were trying to spill out of your eyes, your hands shaking as you carefully turned around, not yet daring to look into the eyes of the boy you loved.
“There is something between us.”
Sirius confirmed something that the two of you already knew. Everyone knew it. All your friends talked about it. James and Remus once had a bet going on about when you would finally get over yourselves and start dating. James had lost that bet a long time ago. However, neither of them nor any of your other friends had lost hope.
“I know there is.”
You felt Sirius’ hand glide down your arm until he was able to grab your hand, slightly intertwining your fingers with his and this time you didn’t pull away. You even let him pull you closer to where he was.
“I’m just scared.”, you confessed.
“Why? There’s nothing to fear.”
“Yes, there is.”, you stated. “What if the two of us really started dating, and after a while, we notice that it isn’t right and we should only be friends? But we can’t be friends anymore because it would be too weird, and it would break my heart to ever see you with someone else. So, we can’t ever spend time with one another again, and our friends have to choose a side and – “
“y/n, stop. This is madness!”
You looked up at him with wide eyes, your lips lightly trembling. Sirius’ hand left yours, only for him to cup your face, his thumbs gently tracing your cheeks.
“Can’t we start worrying about it when it happens, which it won’t?”
“No, Sirius, we can’t. You know I can’t. I’m not a young, reckless boy like you who always thinks life is a joke. I worry all the fucking time.”
Sirius leaned forward to press his lips gently on your forehead, instantly calming you down. He didn’t always know what to say, but he always knew what to do, and he knew that his touch calmed you down.
Once the warmth of his lips disappeared from your forehead, you opened your eyes again, noticing that the young Gryffindor smiled at you. His eyes were full of adoration for you.
“Okay, let’s talk now.”, he told you honestly.
“If you’re willing to give us a chance, I will be the happiest man in the whole universe.”
“Man? You’re a boy.”
The two of you couldn’t help but laugh, and you immediately knew everything would be alright. You just felt it.
“Let me talk, woman.”
“Alright, go on.”, you said while you wrapped your arms slightly around him.
“Like I said, once we’re a couple I won’t let you go again. You’re my y/n. You have been ever since we first met on the Hogwarts Express, and that won’t change. James already hates me because I talk so much about you. Nothing will ever tear us apart, okay? We both know how to talk; we can communicate with one another if there's ever a problem. You’re the love of my life. There, I said it. And I mean every single word of it.”
Your cheeks were already as hot as they could get, the blush on full display. Why did you ever think you could just turn off your feelings for him? You must have been out of your mind. Sirius was the love of your life. He was the man–boy – of your dreams.
“I love you, Sirius Black.”
“I love you too, y/f/n.”
And there it was, the moment you had been waiting for.
Sirius slowly leaned down, his eyes never leaving yours. You were able to feel his hot breath on your lips before he finally pressed his to yours. His lips felt like magic. You could hear fireworks explode inside of you as you kissed the man of your dreams for the first time. They moved perfectly in sync while Sirius’ hands slid down from your cheeks, only for his arms to wrap around your body, squeezing you gently. You let out a slight giggle against his lips, not once pulling away from him. You knew you had to breathe at one point, but for now, you were okay with just being in the moment.
Until you heard someone clear their throat.
The two of you instantly pulled away from one another, your heads turning to the right, only to find Professor Dumbledore standing in the entryway to the Transfiguration classroom. One of his eyebrows was raised, and an amused smile graced his lips.
“Shouldn’t the two of you be on your way to lunch in the Great Hall?”
You nodded your head one of your hands holding your bag while the other one took Sirius’ hand, guiding him and yourself out of the classroom.
“Of course, Professor. We were just on our way.”, you stated embarrassedly, walking past the Headmaster of Hogwarts, your cheeks still as bright as a tomato.
“See what you did.”, you whisper-shouted.
Sirius only shrugged his shoulder, pulling his hand out of yours before he swung his arm around your shoulders, pulling you close against him as he dropped a swift kiss on the top of your head.
“What can I say? If you hadn’t ignored me for the past week, we might’ve had our first kiss somewhere private.”

"10 points to Slytherin," Professor Slughorn commends proudly after you answer his question correctly.
Smirking, you shoot Sirius Black a smug look and lean back in your seat. If looks could kill, you'd likely be a pile of ashes right now, but luckily his heated glares aren't more than a mild inconvenience.
You were the top of your class in nearly every subject, but Potions was one that Sirius somehow managed to eke his way to the top of. He was a naturally gifted wizard who hadn't always been academically inclined, but not for lack of talent. In his early years at Hogwarts, he hadn't tried very hard in school, instead opting to play quidditch and come up with pranks. Your rivalry was what had pushed him to work harder, and he got a ridiculous amount of satisfaction from beating you in the subject taught by your head of house.
Potions soon comes to an end and you pack your things up quickly, strutting out of the dingy room in a hurry. To your dismay, Sirius catches up quickly and you don't look at him when he starts talking to you. "How does it feel being the second best at your favorite subject?"
Not bothering to slow down, you respond icily, "How does it feel being the second best at everything else?"
He chuckles with mirth, matching your gait with irritating precision. You start to think he may finally stalk off, when he leans in close to your ear and whispers, "Not for long."
~~~
Your final class of the day is History of Magic, one which you have the misfortune of sharing with Sirius again. Adjusting your book bag on your shoulder, you walk into the classroom and take your usual seat at the front. You spot Sirius joking with his friends near the back, and you once again begrudgingly admit to yourself that he would be beautiful if he wasn't so infuriating. The way his soft brown eyes always have a glint of mischief, or how his long, dark hair is always styled perfectly or how—
A bell rings, signaling the beginning of the hour and you are jolted from your thoughts. Sirius takes a seat next to you, and unable to help yourself, you glance over at him. You find him already looking at you, a barely concealed grin on his face. "I hear Binns is assigning essay groups today. Now, should I invite 50 people or 100 people to the party I throw when I ace the essay and get the top score in History of Magic this year?"
Rolling your eyes, you turn back to face the front of the classroom, your hair falling over your shoulder in a silky curtain. "In your dreams, Black."
You would be lying if you said that your little rivalry with Sirius wasn't amusing at times, but it was mostly a way to keep you in check so that you could get out of your parent's house once you passed your N.E.W.T.S. Your friends knew about your disagreement with your family's blood purity morals, but no one outside of Slytherin paid enough attention to see how much your house's reputation displeased you.
Professor Binns eventually starts lecturing about the Goblin Rebellions and you quickly grab your quill and parchment. You try your best to stay focused, but even your interest in history can't keep you engaged with Binns' slow speech and indifference. By the time he starts assigning essay pairings, you are so zoned out that you almost miss it when your name is followed by Sirius Black's.
Your eyes widen with disbelief and you turn to Sirius to see an aghast expression on his face. You open your mouth to say something but Sirius just shakes his head and mutters, "There's no point in fighting Binns. He doesn't care enough to rework the arrangements."
You know he's right, but anger and dread flood your veins at the thought of spending a week working with Sirius fucking Black. You stuff your things into your book bag and stomp past him, taking a moment to gripe, "I can't believe I have to work with a bloody Gryffindor."
You're almost out the door when he shoots back, "It's not like I want to work with blood purist scum!"
Shaking your head, you roll your eyes and keep walking until he is out of earshot. His insults used to hurt your feelings, but you had long since gotten over your insecurities about your family and upbringing. His snipes just served to prove his ignorance about who you really were.
~~~
Sirius is fuming as he storms out of History of Magic. He would rather eat slugs than spend a week with you for the essay, but he knew that arguing with the decision was futile. When he passes through the doorway you just walked through, he smells the faint scent of mint and gardenia. Before he can stop himself, he breathes in deeply, catching the last remnants of your lingering perfume. The regret he feels is immediate and he rubs a hand over his face in contempt.
When he returns to Gryffindor tower, he drops his bag in his dormitory before throwing himself onto the couch in the common room. Remus and James are sitting by the fireplace, working on their own homework when he puts his hand to his forehead and groans loudly.
"What's up with you?" James asks, lifting his head from his parchment.
"Wait, let me finish this line," Remus says, waving his hand as he frantically scribbles down a few words. "Okay, what's going on?"
"Oh, nothing," Sirius sighs dramatically. "Just that I've been partnered up with the worst person in the world."
"Binns put you with Snape?" Remus gasps, only slightly feigning astonishment.
"Nope," Sirius shakes his head, lifting his brows for effect, "worse. He put me with y/n."
The two boys share a look for a moment, before James breaks the silence with a small, "Ah."
Sirius, on the other hand, looks at them incredulously. "Ah? I have been given a death sentence and that's all you lot have to say?"
"You don't think you're being a tad dramatic there?" Remus asks quietly. "She's not as bad as you seem to think she is."
Sirius doesn't seem convinced, so James interjects. "Yeah, Lily really doesn't mind her either, actually. They met at one of Slughorn's parties last year."
"Well then, she must be fantastic at hiding her true colors," Sirius decides, sitting up on the couch. "You all have seen her family's reputation. What they've done to people like you, Moony. She's practically following the same path."
"Pads," Remus says carefully, not wanting his next words to come across the wrong way, "the same could be said for you and your family."
"But I'm a Gryffindor!" he yells, surprising even himself with his emotional outburst. "I chose a different path! I pushed them away! I did that!"
Silence echoes throughout the nearly empty common room and Remus and James know better than to push the subject any further. They slowly return to their work, and Sirius pushes himself off of the couch before taking the stairs two at a time up to the boys dormitories.
~~~
Potions the next day is a tense affair, made worse when Professor Slughorn announces the date of his next party.
"Members of the Slug Club are welcome to attend my party next Friday evening," he states, smiling kindly at the students, before a serious expression crosses his face. "Formal attire mandatory."
You tilt your head down to hide the smile that tries to escape, before turning to your friends to discuss what you all are going to wear. The class ends soon after and you are surprised to see Sirius waiting for you by the door.
Your friends shoot you weary looks, but you nod, telling them it's okay and that you will catch up with them later. When they all shuffle out, you turn to him and sigh, "To what do I owe this displeasure?"
"Hilarious," he replies in a flat tone, before pushing himself off the wall and walking alongside you. "We're partners for Binns' essay. We have to make some sort of plan for the assignment."
You know he is right, and you curse yourself for not being the first one to reach out. "We are both finished with classes for the day. We can go to the library and find the books we need right now, and then make notes this weekend. Next week, we can meet a few times before it's due on Friday to write and edit the paper."
Sirius seems fine with this plan, and you hate how pleased you feel from his approval. He takes a moment to ponder your idea, running a hand through his long, shiny hair, and you find yourself admiring how it gleams in the sun.
"Okay," he finally says, jolting you from your daydream, "works for me. Let's go."
"That's all?" you ask with surprise. "No jibes?"
But he has already started walking towards the library, his long legs giving him an enormous stride that has you jogging to keep up. "Plenty of time for that."
~~~
You both manage to find several helpful books for your essay fairly quickly, and soon you start flipping through them to mark the relevant sections. When you reach the textbook on Magical Relations throughout History, you find a chapter on notable wizard families and become intrigued. As if in autopilot, you flip to the page with your family name and begin scanning over the names, when Sirius comes up next to you and grabs the book from under your face.
"What's got you so hooked?" he asks, looking at the page you were on.
"Give it here," you command, your voice wavering slightly. He doesn't notice.
"Ah, the y/l/n family!" he exclaims, before diving into the content and listing the most recent wizards in chronological order.
Each name feels like an electric shock and you can feel it getting harder to breathe as your lungs struggle to pull air in. When he starts reading the names of your parents, you rush forward and snatch the book back, snapping it closed.
He looks taken aback and anger shoots through you, replacing the discomfort and embarrassment. "How would you feel if I went through your family history?"
Sirius clenches his jaw, his nose flaring with enmity. "How is that the same? Your family has done vile, awful things, and I bet you can't wait to join them!"
He really thought you were just like them. How could he not see how your family went against the very essence of who you were?
But you didn't have the energy to fight him anymore. "Yeah, you're right. Because you obviously know everything about me."
He shakes his head, rubbing a hand over his face. "What are you on about?"
He looks like a puppy with his bewildered expression and suddenly you can't decide whether you want to punch him or shake him. You settle for a "Whatever, Black" before tossing the book onto the table and stalking out of the library.
Your hair blows behind you as you pass by Sirius, and he finds himself wishing he could reach out and run his fingers through the velvety strands. You were striking when you were angry and it was the most infuriating and confusing mix of emotions he had ever experienced.
~~~
The weekend passes quickly and when Monday arrives, you both work on your halves of the essay in silence. You catch yourself glancing up at Sirius a few times, and you can't help but admire his steely focus on the work at hand. His intellect and work ethic are two of the few things you admire about him, after all.
Your eyes are falling shut when you check the time and see that you've been working for hours. You close your ink pot and stuff your parchment into your bag as you get ready to leave.
You are carefully putting away your quills when you hear Sirius' voice, quiet over the crackle of the fireplace. "Why are you in Slytherin if you don't actually care for your family?"
It was the same question you heard all the time, from every direction. Why are you in Slytherin if you hate your family so much, y/n? No one ever asked why Slytherin was associated with such darkness, when it stood for so much more than that.
Glaring at him, you force the memories down and spit out the first ill-chosen remarks you can muster. "Maybe I do care. Maybe I am exactly what you believe! I don't give a fuck what you think about me, Black, so leave me the hell alone."
You start to leave the room as he retorts, "You disgust me."
A humorless laugh escapes from your mouth and you pause for only a moment before exiting the study room. "Back at you."
Sirius is left stunned, his mouth practically hanging open in shock and confusion. Your words were filled with poison, but your voice had contained something he couldn't quite place. He doesn't allow himself to think about it, instead leaving the study room and heading back to Gryffindor tower to get ready for quidditch practice.
The weather is dreadful, souring Sirius' mood even further, but somehow James is his usual chipper self. They scrimmage for a bit, before James parks himself by the goal posts to chat with Sirius about his latest interactions with Lily.
"She laughed at one of my jokes today," James muses, his tone joyful as he gesticulates wildly, balancing on his broom with irritating ease. "I could listen to her laugh for the rest of my life."
Sirius is only half listening, unable to turn his thoughts away from your earlier outburst. He wished that he could crawl inside your mind and understand everything about you, but that impulse was at war with his righteous desire to distance himself from you at any cost. He's considering his choices when he hears a deep voice yell from across the pitch.
"Oi, Black, Potter, I don't pay you tosspots to just sit around and chat!" Frank Longbottom barks out, squinting through the rain.
"Er, Frank," Sirius hesitantly responds, "you don't pay us at all."
"And your point is...?"
James clears his throat and speaks up before Sirius has the chance to get them into trouble. "Sorry, Longbottom, we were just discussing Saturday's match plan against Hufflepuff."
Frank nods and flies off, forcing James to actually do his job as chaser. Sirius shakes his head vigorously, trying to shake off the rain and his thoughts of you, before resuming his station in front of the goal posts. The rest of practice slogs along, and by the time Frank finally lets the team head back inside, they are all drenched.
Sirius can feel the cold deep in his bones and he sheds off his quidditch gear the moment he enters the boys dormitories. Racing to the shower before James can get back from talking to Frank, he turns the water as hot as it can go and steps under the scalding spray. He audibly sighs as the chill in his veins dissipates, and he leans against the tile as the water cascades over him.
The water also helps melt some of the stress that has seeped into his bones, but it's not enough. Quidditch and school and his family and that damn essay. Everything in his life recently has been building the knot of tension in his gut and he needs to relieve it.
His hand slides down and he palms his length lightly, working it slowly before gripping it in his hand. His cock grows, aching with need, and he starts moving his hand, massaging his shaft with slow strokes. Wet heat zings up his spine, and he leans his head back against the wall, quickening the pace of his movements.
He feels the coil tighten in his abdomen and he rubs his thumb over the tip to bring him closer, but suddenly the pleasure stagnates. He clenches his fist harder, but the wave feels far away, taunting him as he tries and fails to crest it. Sirius groans in frustration, turning around to lean his forehead against the tile. His hand grasps his cock again, but this time a reprehensible thought enters his mind and burrows into his subconscious.
This time it's your hand gripping him instead. He's so desperate for release that he allows himself to give in to the fantasy, and suddenly you're in front of him, taking his length in your slender fingers. Your lips curve into a cheeky smirk and you sink to your knees in front of him as he watches you in awe. He can feel you lick a flat stripe up his shaft and he groans, heat surging through him again. When you finally suck him into your mouth, he thinks he may come on the spot, but he squeezes his eyes shut, trying to prolong the sensation. You swirl your tongue around the head of his cock and he can almost imagine your scent as he thrusts up into his own hand, wishing it was yours instead.
He knows he should stop this — he shouldn't even have allowed himself to begin — but it feels so good. So good that he can't bear to imagine what it would have felt like had it been real.
One final thrust brings him to his release and he gasps into the shower wall, pressing his forearm against the tile to keep himself upright. The moment the pleasure ends and his brain clears of its fog, a waterfall of shame washes over him. Sirius scrubs his body with soap, hoping to rid himself of his guilt, but even after he has washed and dried himself, the feeling remains.
He breathes a sigh of relief when he finds that James has yet to return from talking to Longbottom, and he clambers into his bed, pulling the curtains closed around him. He doesn't emerge from his bed until late the next morning, just in time to rush to his first class.
He thanks the heavens that he doesn't share any classes with you today, and he goes through his day in a daze, not fully focusing on any of his subjects. You, on the other hand, are rampaging through the halls with a reignited enmity. You can't get your last argument with Sirius out of your head, and you've been forcing yourself to push down your fury all day.
By the time you finish your last class of the day, you are heading back to the Slytherin dungeon when you spot Sirius ducking into an empty classroom. After a whole day of tamping down your emotions, just the sight of him makes your cheeks flush with anger. Against your better judgment, you stalk forward and follow him into the room.
Sirius turns back in surprise when he hears you enter, but it quickly turns to exasperation and something that looks like abashment. "What the hell are you doing here? Can no one get some bloody peace and qui—"
"Why do you so easily assume that you know me?" you spit out, your volume a bit louder than you would've liked. "You constantly insist upon inserting yourself in my life, but you don't take the time to even try to understand me!"
His expression suddenly grows darker and he scoffs, "Because I do know you. Our families are the same. We grew up with the same upbringing, and I don't even have to look past my own bloody family tree to find a dozen examples of how that turns out."
He looks so sure of himself that you have to fight off the urge to wrap your hands around his neck and strangle him. Taking a step forward, you can't stop yourself from raising your voice even further. "You're so infuriating! How can anyone stand to be around you?"
Sirius barks out a laugh, taking another step closer, "You're not exactly a cakewalk either, sweetheart."
His last words bring him that much closer to you, and suddenly you can feel the warmth of his breath on your face. You peer up at him hesitantly, frightened by the fact that this proximity to Sirius Black isn't scaring you off. Instead, you almost feel emboldened, and you find yourself leaning in slightly, enjoying the way his breath hitches when the wisps of your hair tickle his chin. You see his eyes flutter closed as he inhales slowly, as if trying to remain still, and you tilt your head back to—
The door creaks open and you both fly apart, but not fast enough. Remus enters slowly, his head peeking inside as his eyes widen with astonishment.
"Oh bugger, sorry," Remus exclaims, turning around to leave the classroom.
"It's fine," Sirius says emphatically, as if he's trying to convince more than just Remus. "Nothing's going on."
You can't stand the awkwardness, so you mutter a quick "gotta go" to Remus, before jetting out the door.
Sirius watches you leave, internally kicking himself for letting you get under his skin like this. He was no stranger to wanting — or being wanted by — women, but this was something different. Something that brought out a longing from within him that he had no hope of understanding.
"Is this why you've been acting so weird recently?" Remus asks, looking at Sirius pointedly. "Because you fancy her or something?"
Sirius flashes him an incredulous look, hoping it's more convincing than it feels to him. "Pff, shut up, Moony."
Remus purses his lips, clearly not believing a word he's saying, but he thankfully lets the subject drop. "Well, anyway, I heard your voice from outside and I thought I'd let you know that James was looking for you. Something about getting to quidditch practice early..."
Sirius groans good-naturedly, secretly excited about the prospect of relieving his frustration through a nice scrimmage. Grabbing his book bag, he follows Remus out of the classroom and heads down to the quidditch pitch.
~~~
Sirius doesn't know what to think about you anymore, and he is only more confused when he hears your voice in a side corridor on the way to Transfiguration the next day. He stays hidden around the corner, but manages to catch the end of your conversation with Snape.
"Why do you get off on hurting people, Severus?" you ask, your voice dripping with venom. "You're a fucking blood purist who's tarnishing the Slytherin name with your outdated and disgusting ideologies."
"Don't bother yourself with my so-called ideologies, y/n," he sneers, and Sirius pulls his wand out in case there's an altercation.
You scoff and Sirius is surprised at the pride he feels at the sight of you standing up to Snape. "Slytherin stands for cleverness and ambition, not for ruthlessness and cruelty. You and your lot have given us an awful reputation just for existing and I'm bloody tired of seeing you all prancing around these halls like you care about what it means to be here!"
Sirius hears the swish of your robes, and he backs up behind a gargoyle statue right before you turn the corner and strut past him. A warmth fills his chest and he swallows thickly, trying to place what he's feeling. He saw a different person in you everyday and each time he spoke to you, he never knew what he was getting himself into. You were the least predictable person he had ever met, and god help him, he liked that about you.
The rest of your essay work sessions occur in a similar fashion to the first, and Sirius doesn't mention what he heard. You are more than content working in silence, but something feels off between the two of you, and you hate how much you miss the way it used to be. The banter and the jibes and the rivalry.
Peeking up at him through your loosely hanging hair, you see him chewing the back of his quill, his brow furrowed tightly into a small 'v'. Curling your hand into a fist, you resist the urge to press your fingers into the worry lines on his forehead and smooth them out. He really was beautiful when he worked, his eyes burning with focus and determination. Pursing your lips, you push the thought away and continue writing the last few paragraphs of your paper.
~~~
The day of Slughorn's party arrives quickly and you are frantically getting ready with your friends after turning in your part of the essay for Binns' class. You were relieved to be done with the project, but it would be remiss to say that you didn't miss seeing Sirius outside of class hours. You finish up your makeup and adjust the thin straps of your black, floor-length gown, before pulling on your shawl and heading out.
In the Gryffindor boys' dormitories, Sirius and Remus are wrestling their ties on, with James flopped on his bed, timing them to see who can tie theirs first. Remus wins by a hair, and Sirius plops down next to James, a playful frown on his face.
"Get up, you tosser," James laughs, pushing Sirius off the bed. "You'll wrinkle your suit."
"This is why we keep you around, Prongs," Sirius grins, smoothing his shirt down before patting Remus on the back. "So that you can teach us the ways of your posh upbringing."
"Fuck you," James replies, a smile creeping onto his face. "Anyway, you lot better head to the party. Don't want to be too late."
"But don't forget, James," Remus mocks, grinning pointedly at Sirius, "the party doesn't begin until Padfoot arrives!"
"Right you are," Sirius hoots, before saying a quick goodbye to Peter and pulling Remus through the door with him.
Somehow, they are still in the first batch of people to arrive, and they occupy themselves by grabbing champagne flutes from the passing waiters.
"Bit stuffy, isn't it?" Remus mutters, taking a sip from his glass.
Sirius nods, downing the whole glass before grabbing another flute. "We'll chat up some of the professors then head out early."
"Works for me."
Remus starts scanning the room to see if he can spot Madam Pince, and just as Sirius brings the champagne to his lips, he sees you walk in.
His hand freezes in mid-air and he can't take his eyes off of you no matter how hard he tries to look away. You look ravishing in a long, black gown and your hair cascades down your back in a gleaming waterfall. Just when Sirius starts to regain the mobility of his hand, you slide off your shawl and the sharp curves of your collarbone shimmer under the candlelight.
"Have fun with that," Remus whispers, his tone laced with humor, before patting him on the back and walking off to speak with Professor Slughorn.
You don't notice him at first, but after you hand your shawl to someone working by the door, you peer up to see Sirius Black staring at you, his mouth slightly agape. When he sees you looking back at him, he looks at the ceiling and swallows a large gulp of champagne. You know something is different between you two, but there was no way you were going to be the first to address it. Spotting one of your friends from class, you head over to join their conversation.
Sirius had always known you were beautiful but he had never let himself truly see it before tonight. Before you had winced at the sight of your family's atrocities, and stood up to Snape when he was being exactly who Sirius thought you were. He had been so wrong all this time.
Spotting you across the room, he tightens his tie and pushes himself off of the counter he was leaning against. Head held high, he saunters over to where you are laughing with your friends and stops right in front of you. You look up at him in shock, which quickly turns to uneasiness. "What do you want, Black?"
He looks you straight in the eyes, his attention refusing to waver, as he says simply, "Dance with me."
Your expression is filled with skepticism and something else he can't decipher, but to his surprise, you take his hand. He pulls you up from your seat and leads you to the other side of the room, where a quartet is playing music. The song they are playing is a bit fast-paced for slow dancing, but when Sirius shoots them a look, they immediately transition into a slower melody.
"Impressive," you say jokingly, acutely noticing the moment his hand moves to rest on your waist.
He smiles softly and you both dance in silence until Sirius turns his gaze back to you, piercing you with his eyes in a way that always got you flustered.
"Thank heavens that essay is over," he states, his lips curving slightly. "I missed our little class rivalry."
You nod slowly, relieved that he is voicing exactly what you've been feeling. "It's not as fun when we're on the same side."
He's silent again for a few moments, before he pulls you a bit closer in his arms and scrutinizes your face in an annoyingly charming way. "But we are, aren't we? On the same side."
His statement catches you by surprise, you don't know what to say. You can't seem to break the eye contact you've been sharing and heat travels down your spine at his languid gaze. You almost wish you could go back to when he didn't look too hard into your life, but a part of you knows that this is a good different.
Before you can lose your nerve, you sigh and whisper, "Yes...we are."
You can feel your cheeks flush with heat, but you don't want to take your eyes away from him, afraid that if you look away, you will lose this connection that has somehow developed in the midst of your silent war. You instead choose to focus on how long his eyelashes are, practically casting shadows on his cheekbones as he gazes down at you.
Sirius notices the moment your skin begins to flush and he has to tighten his grip on your waist to keep his breath steady. Every point of contact between the two of you burns with unbridled possibility, and his usual confidence wavers as he fixates on the pink spreading across your cheeks. He can't imagine how you couldn't know the effect you have on him, and he slowly pulls you in closer to gauge your reaction.
You gasp slightly when your chest presses against his, and for a second, you completely forget that you are supposed to be dancing. Your sudden pause disrupts Sirius' rhythm and before you can readjust, he is inches away from you, his chest heaving.
"Let's get out of here," Sirius whispers, his voice husky.
You're so caught off guard that you lose the ability to speak, opting for a quick nod that ignites something in his eyes. He slips a hand behind your lower back and leads you off the dance floor, guiding you into the hallway. When he finds an isolated stairwell, you finally regain your bearings and press him against the stone wall, reveling in the sudden burst of courage. Sirius looks back at you mischievously, and you immediately kiss the smirk off of his face.
You hear him mutter a quick invisibility charm under his breath and you can't help but be vexed that he thought of it faster than you did. When you part his lips with your tongue, he groans under his breath, and the sound sends heat rushing down your abdomen. Filled with a newfound confidence, you bite his lip teasingly, before yanking on his tie to loosen it.
"Holy shit," Sirius exhales, leaning back against the wall while you unbutton his shirt, completely letting you have your way with him. Ever since that night in the showers, he has imagined this moment incessantly, but something told him that the real thing was about to me infinitely better.
You grip his lapels, trying to pull him closer and closer, and he obliges, wrapping his arm around your body as he lifts you to sit on the ledge beside him. His lips are so much softer than you could've imagined, and he presses feverish kisses along your jaw, setting you instantly ablaze. This moment is everything you wanted it to be and you feel heat pool in your belly as his hands begin to ride down, shifting the hem of your dress higher.
The image of the two of you here, together, is so wild and unexpected that you almost can't believe it's even happening. You must have spoken out loud, because Sirius smirks against your skin and says, "What? You can't believe you're alone in a stairwell with the top of your class?"
You pull back immediately, sputtering, "Wha- what? Top of the class, my ass!" when you see a grin cross Sirius' face.
"What?" you ask, your mouth scrunching into a small pout.
"You're never gonna stop arguing with me, are you?"
You press your lips together, unsure of what he's getting at, "...No."
His grins widens and he pulls you forward into another searing kiss. "Good."
Your chest bubbles with satisfaction that quickly turns primal when Sirius starts bunching up your gown. He hikes up your dress slowly, allowing you plenty of time to change your mind; when you don't, he slides your panties to the side and enters you swiftly with a lithe finger.
You gasp at the contact, your back arching into his body, and he can't help the grin that crosses his face at your response. Just the feeling of your warm heat makes his pants tighten with desire, and he has to clutch the silky material of your dress to keep himself from reaching down and undoing his belt buckle. You look so beautiful under him, and he wishes he could commit this image to his memory forever.
You lean your head back against the cool stained glass behind you, and Sirius dips down to run his tongue up the smooth expanse of your exposed neck. Just when the heat is almost too much, he sucks the skin on your pulse point, sending shock waves of pleasure coursing through you. He adds another finger and you cry out in ecstasy, grabbing onto his open shirt for some sort of stability. The motion of his fingers combined with the warmth of his lips brings you so close, but right when you are about to feel the release, he pulls his fingers out.
"Fuck," you exclaim, your eyes widening in disbelief. "I was so close!"
Sirius ignores you, tugging his pants down quickly and unsheathing his thick shaft. "You're not coming unless it's on my cock."
A ferocious desire courses through you and he swears he has died and gone to heaven when he sees how your eyes sparkle with lust. You nod immediately, and he yanks your panties off fully before lining himself up with your entrance. You brace yourself, but it's not enough to prepare you for the feeling of his hard cock splitting you open. You can feel every inch of him as he pushes into you, refusing to stop until he's fully seated within you.
Sirius can't believe how good you feel around him, and he forces himself to allow you a second to adjust before he starts moving. As soon as he begins thrusting into you, white hot pleasure curls up your spine, wrenching out moan after moan from deep inside your throat. You had thought about this moment so many times, but nothing could compare to this. This connection you felt with him that was slowly setting you ablaze.
The sight of you beneath him triggers an animalistic response, and Sirius suddenly has the intense desire to mark your pristine skin. He wants to see the column of your throat littered with bruises to show the world that you had been his.
Sirius brings his hand down, his fingers splaying across your throat, before he tightens them around your neck. Your eyes widen with surprise that quickly turns to hunger, and he squeezes until he can feel your pulse beneath his fingertips. Just when it starts to become too much, he loosens his hold and tilts your head back, lifting your body up to meet his. The change in angle has him hitting the perfect spot deep inside of you, and your eyes roll back from bliss.
You are already gasping with pleasure before he begins nipping at the skin behind your ear, slowly making him way down your neck. You know the marks will be hard to hide, but you can't bring yourself to care. Soon the knot of pressure in your abdomen starts tightening and you know you're getting close, so you reach your hand down to touch yourself.
Sirius' thrusts start to falter a bit as he gets closer to the edge, but he can feel your walls closing in around him, so he quickens his movements. The spicy scent of your perfume turns his brain fuzzy and he bites down on the hollow of your collarbone as another pang of possessiveness washes over him. The sensation sends you flying over the edge and the feeling of you tightening around him brings him to his release shortly after.
When you finally come down from the high, you are both out of breath, your chests heaving. You immediately start looking for your panties, and Sirius pulls his shirt back over his shoulders, buttoning up his pants. You are about to turn away when Sirius reaches over to cup your cheek, bringing you up to face him again.
"You're beautiful," he mutters, his thumb absently stroking your jaw as he looks at you with a familiar glint in his eyes. "I was so wrong about you, and if only I had known—"
"Then what?" you ask, your expression turning into one of disbelief, yet longing. "Then we could have been together? Come on, Black, you know we never would've worked out."
You say the last words with a small smile, which Sirius eventually returns. "Yeah, I guess you're right. You never would've been able to keep up with me anyways."
"Wha-" you sputter, "excuse me?"
But Sirius is already laughing. You're so incredulous that you don't realize what he is doing until he pulls you forward into a quick kiss before whispering, "See you in class, y/n."
🍒//any marauder and accidental boners in class or just any inconvenient situation really :) (love ur writing !!)
i picked sirius bc i <3 him and haven’t written much for him yet (hope that’s okay!!)<33 nsfw tones, 16+!!
You giggle as Sirius squirms, crossing his legs in a fruitless effort to conceal his raging hard-on; of course he’d get one in the middle of transfiguration, for crying out loud.
“It’s not funny,” he snaps, furrowing his brow.
“It’s a little bit funny, Siri,” you mumble, biting your lip although a smile still pushes its way through.
“I hate you.”
“You love me.”
“Not anymore. I’ll never speak to you again,” he says.
“Liar,” you lilt, “Besides, I have other ways to get you talking.” Your hand grazes over the tops of his thighs, nails scratching gently, teasing.
“You wouldn’t.”
“I would.” He laughs in a way that lets you know he doesn’t find your joke funny in the slightest. “C’mon, baby. Don’t be like that,” you murmur.
“You’re gonna regret that joke later,” he says through gritted teeth, squeezing your leg with a little more force than necessary. James snickers from the next desk over, kicking your ankle under the table.
“Fuck off, James.” Sirius goes to lunge at him, only to be stopped by your arms around his middle.
“I’m sorry, Siri. I love you,” you whisper, kissing his shoulder through his shirt.
“I love you too, but you’re still getting punished.”
“Hey!”
dating young!sirius black (remote island au)
au headcanon where you and young!sirius black flee the country to live on a remote island and raise baby harry instead of going to azkaban
part i: dating sirius black at hogwarts would include:
for most of your time at hogwarts, you had always found sirius and the rest of the marauders quite insufferable. though he’s had his eye on you since third year, he never thought he’d have a shot with the stunning ravenclaw girl at the top of their class.
sirius is too arrogant for your liking and he’s a shameless flirt. he’s the kind of hot guy that knows he’s hot. you’ve heard the rumors: that he’s a ladies man, that he knows how to do things most of your class has only read about in books. during your fifth year, you lost count of just how many girls he snogged first term alone. not that you were counting.
he’s the life of the party and manages to pull the attention of every room he enters. this fact simultaneously intrigues you and gets under your skin.
it’s not until after the holidays during sixth year that he begins to pursue you, and you’re sure that you can resist his childish, immature, over the top attempts to charm you. boy were you wrong.
“you’re just interested in me because you’ve run out of girls in our year to snog, black.” “no, i haven’t! there are plenty others but none i want to snog as much as you, darling. come to hogsmeade with me this weekend.” “oh, i don’t think so, black. better luck next time.” “so you’re saying there’ll be a next time?”
you only roll your eyes in response to his cheeky grin, even though you have to admit that you’re flattered.
each attempt continues to chisel away at your tough exterior. the shield you’ve tried best to build around yourself – the sirius black-resistant one – is beginning to fall. it’s not until sirius has a big fight with regulus that you find him sulking in the astronomy tower long after class is over. it doesn't take long for his handsome playboy facade to fall and when he confides in you about his family, you begin to understand why he lives with the potters.
you spend all night together star-gazing, giggling, and keeping each other company in the astronomy tower before drifting off to sleep. when you’re caught by both of your heads of house sneaking back into the common room the next morning, it earns you both two weeks of detention and a howler from your parents that, you decide, was entirely worth it.
you and sirius have your first kiss only a week later while polishing and dusting the various potion bottles in slughorn’s office. while trying his damndest to make you laugh, sirius ends up knocking over a vile of moonseed and as you both scramble to clean it up, you lean over and kiss him.
sirius on the other hand is absolutely smitten. gone are the days of being hogwarts’ most eligible bachelor. he’s as loyal as a dog (sorry, but i couldn’t help myself).
speaking of, you give him quite the lecture after learning about his status as an illegal and unregistered animagus starting with, ‘you could’ve gotten killed’ to ‘do you know how much trouble you’ll be in if anyone finds out’ and ending with ‘you’re such a good friend, siri.’ you can tell he gets off on breaking the rules and you can’t believe you’re falling in love with him.
most days sirius loves to lay his head in your lap while you study, stretching his legs out on the couch of the gryffindor common room while you run your fingers through his hair. james and remus never let him live down the fact that he once took you on a picnic to the black lake, while peter admired his friend’s attempt at romance.
sirius rarely studies, yet still manages to get top marks which drives you absolutely insane.
the rest of the marauders adore you and love having an excuse to tease sirius shamelessly over how lovesick he’s become.
you lose your virginity to sirius the day before you leave for summer break between your sixth and seventh year. it’s filled with whispered ‘i love you’s, shy smiles, and finding out that all the rumors about him were true.
you agree to visit a few weeks before you have to return to school and decide to leave out the fact that you’ll both be unsupervised when pitching the idea to your parents.
you write to each other all summer long – some of which are very nsfw. he’s recently come into an inheritance from a sympathetic uncle and has managed to get his own place. sirius now has his own place and a head full of all kinds of things he wants to do with you.
you have a hard time adjusting to being hogwarts IT couple as you enter your seventh year. you've never been one for the spotlight but sirius is worth it.
seventh year is filled with double dates with #jilly to hogsmeade, snogging in broom closets, and movie nights in the marauders dormitory using lily's projector and an old bedsheet.
sirius makes you brave and you make him happier than he ever believed he deserved.
you’re at every quidditch game cheering him on, even when your own house is playing against gryffindor.
in the last few months of your seventh year, while lily and james can’t stop talking about marriage, sirius is shocked to discover that you don’t want to get married at all. because of this, you decide to go your separate ways after graduation, which only lasts a few months after you hook up during lily and james’ engagement party and decide that you absolutely can’t live without each other.
Champagne Problems (ii)
summary: Y/N Y/L/N has everything: a wealthy family, a famous last name, and the most eligible bachelor in the wizarding community as her soon to be husband. What happens when she’s reunited with a forbidden friend from the past?
The next few weeks passed by dreadfully slowly, but eventually, September 1st rolled around and it was finally time for Y/N to go back to school. She was excited for the school year, but she had a lot on her mind. Once she boarded the train, Y/N passed compartment after compartment, waving hello to friends, but deciding to keep going until she found one that was empty. She shared a dorm with three other girls, this was going to be the last alone-time she got until Christmas. Her alone-time was short lived, however, when a knock came on the door to her cart and a familiar face showed itself through the window. Y/N smiled as Sirius opened the compartment door. “Need some company?” he he asked with a smirk. “I suppose I could handle that,” Y/N smiled and motioned for him to sit down.
“Don’t you have a group of friends to sit with?” Y/N asked as Sirius made himself comfortable. “Don’t you?” he quipped, raising and eyebrow. “I suppose. But I don’t always sit with the same group of people on every trip, either,” Y/N shrugged. “And here I thought you stopped paying attention to me in first year,” Sirius waggled his eyebrows playfully. “Trust me,” Y/N laughed, “I did. But your group has quite the reputation.” “Anyway, I dunno. I didn’t see any of them. Either I’m the first one on, or they’re farther down the line and if that’s the case, I’ll see them when we get to school,” Sirius shrugged. “How was the rest of your summer?” he asked. “Boring. Stressful. Otherwise, uneventful. How was yours?” she answered honestly. “It was pretty good, actually. I third-wheeled with Lily and James a lot, but we saw some really cool films, took a trip out to the beach, and then Mr. and Mrs. Potter went out of town so we had the whole house to ourselves, it was cool,” Sirius smiled fondly as he described the adventures he shared with his friends, and for a moment, Y/N wished she could have been there, too.
“Oi! There you are! We’ve been looking for you for-oh, hello,” James exclaimed as he and Lily barged into the compartment. “Um, hi,” Y/N smiled politely. “Y/N, right?” James asked. “Yeah. You’re James, and I’m guessing you’re Lily?” Y/N replied. “That’s us,” Lily smiled. “Pardon my boyfriend being rude, but do you mind if we sit with you?” Lily asked, nudging James who had already taken a seat. “Oh, shit, sorry,” James replied quickly. “Oh! Of course, please,” Y/N motioned to the seats and Sirius hopped up from his spot across from Y/N and moved over so he was sitting next to her. Lily took the window seat opposite Y/N and James sat next to her, slinging his arm around her shoulders. An awkward silence settled over the four teens for a few minutes. “So, Y/N, how do you know Sirius?” Lily spoke up. “Oh, we grew up together. Our parents are close,” Y/N answered. “Oh,” Lily tried to hide her confusion. “We sort of fell out during first year because of.. um... I don’t know, my parents stopped liking him,” Y/N explained. “Hey, don’t feel too bad,” Sirius nudged her, “My parents stopped liking me around first year, too,” he joked, easing the tension and getting everyone to laugh.
“Bloody hell, you guys! I’ve been looking for you all morning!” A short boy with poorly styled hair opened the door to the compartment. “Wormtail! Nice of you to join us, mate!” James exclaimed, patting the open seat next to him. “I’m sorry, did you just call him a worm?” Y/N asked incredulously. “It’s an inside joke. That’s Peter. Pete, this is Y/N,” Sirius introduced them, and Peter seemed to see Y/N for the first time. “Oh!” he exclaimed, “Hello!” “Nice to meet you,” Y/N smiled at him and then glanced out the window. Definitely no alone time on this train ride. But it could be fun. Sirius has just been telling her about all the good times he had with these people, maybe Y/N would have a good time with them as well. Just a few minutes later, the whistle blew and the train was on its way to Hogwarts.
The train rolled on, and the teens chatted amongst themselves, catching up on what they had done over the summer. Y/N remained quiet, unless to answer a question. She felt nervous, for some reason, to be around Sirius’s friends. They were nice, and even funny, but Y/N couldn’t help but feel out of place. After about an hour and a half, the compartment door opened. “These prefect meetings get more and more boring every-oh, hello, Y/N,” Remus said as he plopped down in the seat next to Sirius. “Hi, Remus,” Y/N smiles politely. “You two know each other?” Sirius asked incredulously. “Yeah, we’ve had classes together. Last year we were paired together in advanced potion making,” Remus shrugged. “Well I’ll be damned,” James laughed. “I do talk to other people outside of you lot, you know,” Remus taunted. “You’re kidding! Since when are we allowed to have other friends?” James asked dramatically, earning laughs from all of the teens. And so they joked, and laughed the whole way to the school; and while Y/N felt like she was intruding on their time together, the marauders had already begun accepting her as one of their own.
-
After the sorting ceremony, Y/N went straight to her dorm- the first feast of the year always left her exhausted, she suspected it was all the rich food in her belly. She planned to change into her most comfortable pajamas and curl up with Desdemona before drifting off into a much needed sleep. Y/N was almost able to go through with her plan, too, but what she hadn’t accounted for was that her roommates would also skip the festivities and come straight to the dorm as well, eager to hear all about Y/N’s engagement party. “Y/N, Y/N!” they exclaimed. “We looked for you at dinner but we couldn’t find you, you have to tell us all about the engagement party!” her roommate, Ellie, exclaimed. “Did Amelia Rosehart really design your dress?” Dawn asked. “Let us see the ring!” Cynthia squealed. “It was very nice,” Y/N started. “Amelia did design my dress, and styled my hair and makeup. I looked like a completely different person. We just answered a lot of questions about the wedding plans and had dinner, and then everyone left and Peter and I had a good talk,” she explained.
“I can’t believe you’re marrying Peter Williams, you’re living my dream,” Dawn declared as she plopped into her bed. “Isn’t he so wonderful? Is he funny? I always imagined him being funny,” she gushed. “He’s nice, yeah. And I dunno, I suppose he’s moderately funny. I’ve met funnier people,” Y/N shrugged, “But then again we didn’t talk that much.” “What about the ring? The ring!” Ellie reminded her. “Oh, right. Here you go,” Y/N held her left hand out for the girls to inspect, and Dawn nearly fell out of her bed trying to leap over to see the ring. It was massive, honestly. In the center, there was a large, oval shaped diamond. Around that, there was a small band of emeralds outlining the diamond, and then smaller circular diamonds around the gold band. Y/N felt ridiculous wearing it at school, but her parents insisted she wear it. They believed it would show everyone how well off the family was going to be.
“Was it his grandmothers?” Cynthia asked excitedly. “His great-grandmother’s, and then his grandmother’s, and then his mother’s,” Y/N told them. “Merlin’s beard, it must go back to the 1800s!” Dawn cried. “1897, yeah. His great-grandfather had it custom made for his great-grandmother, and then they passed it down the line of the oldest siblings in the family,” Y/N confirmed. “Godric, it’s nearly a hundred years old and it looks brand new!” Ellie’s exclaimed. “Every time it got passed down it was repaired, plus they expect me to have it cleaned every eight weeks,” Y/N couldn’t help but laugh a bit. “And the party, was it extravagant?” Cynthia asked. “It was.. tasteful. The whole mansion was decorated, and we had a team of chefs come in from France, the food was magnificent, by the way, and yeah.. It was good,” Y/N nodded. “Godric, Y/N, you are so lucky!” Ellie yawned as she climbed into her bed. “I suppose I am,” Y/N agreed as she picked up Desdemona and snuggled up in her blankets. Desdemona’s purrs soon lulled Y/N into a much needed sleep.
The next day, Y/N woke up before her dorm mates to have a shower before the day officially started. She liked the girls, she really did, but she was in no mood to talk more about the Williamses or the party. She returned to her dorm and got ready as quietly as possible before slipping out at heading down to the great hall for breakfast. She passed Sirius and James as she walked in, and she and Sirius exchanged smiles and small waves before she found an empty table to sit at to have a quiet breakfast. Thoughts of her future tangled with thoughts of her upcoming classes, and as Y/N looked down at her empty bowl, she realized that she had forgotten to even taste her oatmeal. She supposed it didn’t matter, it was time to head to her first lesson anyway. She grabbed an apple to snack on later, and made her way to the Transfigurations classroom.
Y/N took a seat in the middle of the classroom and let her thoughts consume her while she had a little while before the lesson started. She was ripped away from her thoughts when the chair next to her scraped across the floor. “This seat taken?” Y/N was surprised to find Sirius holding onto the chair next to hers. “Uh, it is now. Please, sit,” Y/N answered with a smile. Y/N hadn’t had a class with Sirius in a few years, she suspected because he tended to slack off whereas she was one of the top students of their year. “Well imagine that, I put in a little extra effort last year and got moved up into the class with the smart people,” Sirius laughed as he set his belongings down. “Yeah, see what happens when you actually put that brain in there to use,” Y/N teased, lightly tapping on his forehead. At the table behind them, Lily raised an eyebrow and looked to James questioningly. James just shrugged in response.
-
Y/N’s next class was charms, where she took a seat next to Dawn, and was saved by professor Flitwick’s speech cutting off any questions Dawn could have asked. The class itself was pretty uneventful, as Flitwick somehow got distracted and ended up telling the class about his entire summer, instead of starting an actual lesson. When the class ended, Y/N elected to wander the halls for a little bit instead of going straight to her next lesson. She had learned last year that if she was the first to arrive to class, Professor Binns would trap her in a horrendously boring story that conveniently would not end until it was time for class to start. So, she took her time, strolling into the History of Magic classroom just before the door shut signaling for class to begin. Her eyes scanned the room for a place to sit, and she was pleasantly surprised to see Sirius seated in the back of the classroom with an open seat next to him.
“Mind if I sit here?” She whispered as she set her bag down. “Course not, take a seat, friend,” Sirius smiled. “We’re friends again?” Y/N asked him with a slight tilt of her head. “Well, we sit together in two classes and I enjoy the conversations we share, so yeah I suppose we are,” Sirius shrugged. “Is that okay?” he asked. Y/N grinned, “Yeah, that’s okay.” Sirius smiled in return before turning his attention to the front of the room where Binns had started his lesson. Professor Binns was extremely passionate about his job, and Y/N knew that. She tried to listen closely and give him her full attention, more so because she didn’t want to hurt his feelings than actually caring about what he had to say, but he had the most monotonous voice she had ever heard, and the lesson was just so bloody boring. It didn’t help either that James and Sirius were using a golden snitch to pass notes back and forth, either. Finally, Y/N caved in and turned to Sirius.
“Please tell me you’re exchanging cheesy jokes, I’m so bored I’m going to lose my mind,” she whispered. “Almost. James and I are trying to find an animal that best describes Binns. James thinks he’s most like a tortoise but I think that’s too obvious,” Sirius leaned in to tell her, sliding the wrinkled parchment to her. An idea popped into Y/N’s head and with a smirk, she lifted her quill. I think he’s most like a naked mole-rat. He’s wrinkly as hell and is so engrossed in his job that he kept doing it after he died, she wrote. Sirius leaned over her should to read what she was writing and laughed out loud, quickly covering it with an obnoxiously loud cough. He folded the parchment up and stuffed it inside the snitch before sending it back over to James. When James read the parchment, he let out one loud laugh but quickly composed himself before sliding it over to Remus who’s shoulders shook as he chuckled silently. James took the paper down and scribbled another note to pass back to Sirius. She’s in. See if she wants to come to Hogsmeade with us on Saturday.
-
The week sped by as Y/N nervously awaited the weekend. She really liked Sirius’s friends, but her family had a long history and a bad reputation, and they all had every right to despise her for that. Y/N held completely different beliefs than even her own parents, but the legacy her family name held still filled her with guilt. She almost felt like she was holding her breath, waiting for them to realize that they didn’t actually want her around. Y/N elected to wake up early and go to the great hall as soon as Saturday breakfast began. The hall was nearly empty, as most of the students preferred to sleep in on the weekends.
She sat alone and piled her plate with fruit, but instead of eating, she just sat there, trying to calm her nerves and prepare for the day. By the time the rest of the students began showing up for breakfast, Y/N realized that she wasn’t hungry, and she decided to take her uneaten food out to the forbidden forrest. She wasn’t expected to meet Sirius and his friends in Hogsmeade until 10:30, she had plenty of time. On her way out of the great hall, Y/N passed Sirius and Remus, giving them a quick smile before ducking her head and slightly speeding up her pace. Sirius and Remus looked at one another, and Sirius opened his mouth to speak, but Remus beat him to it. “Go on. We’ll see you in Hogsmeade,” he told Sirius. Sirius grinned before turning to follow after Y/N.
When he finally caught up with her, Y/N had just found a place that she decided was deep enough into the Forbidden Forest. “You know, I’m pretty sure Hagrid comes out here to feed the creatures every night,” Sirius spoke up, “You don’t have to sacrifice your breakfast to them.” “I already had it on my plate, and I decided I wasn’t hungry. Didn’t want it to go to waste,” Y/N shrugged. “Plus, I like the animals,” she said, as a little rabbit hopped up and ate one of the berries she had tossed on the ground. Sirius chuckled at the bunny as he stepped closer to Y/N to see the little animals scurrying around the fruit. “What are you doing out here?” Y/N smiled as she turned to him. Y/N was terrified that Sirius was going to snap out of it and realize that she came from everything he hated, but at the same time his presence always made her feel so comfortable. “Wanted to come check on you. You seemed a little off leaving the great hall,” He answered honestly.
“Oh, I’m okay. Just wanted to spend a little time outdoors,” Y/N flashed him a positive smile. Sirius didn’t respond for a minute. “Did you know that your voice changes when you’re trying to be pleasant?” He finally asked her. “What do you mean?” Y/N raised an eyebrow. “Your voice gets higher and you nearly over-annunciate your words so that you sound more confident than you’re necessarily feeling,” he shrugged. “I noticed it at the engagement party, and most of the time when you talk to James, and Lily, and Peter.” “Oh.. I, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to-“ Y/N started. “Y/N you’re not obligated to tell me anything you don’t want to tell me, and you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do, either. I just want you to know that you don’t have to put on a front for any of us. And I don’t want to you to feel like you have to, either,” he assured her. “You don’t have to be ‘The Daughter of the Y/L/N Family, you can just be Y/N with us.”
“Sirius, I’m so nervous around your friends. I’ve been playing the role of Y/N Y/L/N for so long that I don’t think I even know who ‘just Y/N’ is. And everyone else is fine with the front, but your friends are all so true to themselves, and what they believe in. I just feel like they’re bound to realize that I don’t deserve the kind of friendship they give. I don’t know how to be around people and be relaxed and just roll with the punches,” Y/N admitted. “Hey. We all know that you are nothing like your parents. And they already like you, I can guarantee they aren’t going to change their minds. Plus, I like to think that you’ve been pretty relaxed and honest with me these last few weeks,” Sirius offered.
“I’ve known you my whole life, of course I’m comfortable around you. I don’t think that counts,” Y/N counted. “Oh, it counts,” Sirius decided, earning a laugh from Y/N. “Really though, don’t get so into your head, you’re great, just being yourself,” he assured her. Y/N gnawed on the inside of a cheek for a moment before lurching to the side in order to squeeze Sirius in a quick hug. “Thanks,” she told him, avoiding his gaze. Sirius grinned and nudged her with his shoulder, “Any time.” “Oh, Merlin! We’ve got to be late going to Hogsmeade! I had only planned on being out here for a few minutes,” Y/N scrunched up her face. “That’s alright,” Sirius assured her, “I know a shortcut, come with me.”
Sirius led Y/N back to the castle, up to the third floor, to the statue of Gunhilda of Gorsemoor. “Dissendium,” he said softly, and the statue opened up to reveal a tunnel. “What in the-“ Y/N blurted, but Sirius gave her an exasperated look and she cut herself off. “What in Merlin’s beard is this?” she whispered aggressively. Sirius motioned for her to go down the stairs and she reluctantly began making her way down, Sirius following and immediately falling into step next to her. Once they were a few steps down, the statue closed back up, Y/N stopped to look back but Sirius kept walking and Y/N determined that it did what it was supposed to do and caught back up with him. “It’s a secret passageway,” Sirius told her. “There are loads of them around the castle. This one leads to Honeydukes’s cellar, where I figure everyone will be because Remus likes to stock up on chocolate on the first trip of the term,” He said. “How do you know where they are?” Y/N asked him in amazement. “We... do a lot of things that aren’t homework,” Sirius shrugged. “I’m gonna let it go for now, but I definitely want to see some of the other passageways,” Y/N told him. Sirius grinned and agreed before picking up his pace a little bit.
By the time Sirius and Y/N climbed up the stairs from the cellar into Honeydukes shop, the marauders were still browsing the selections of sweets. “Hello all, we made it!” Sirius announced as he approached James and slung his arm around him. “Wow, Sirius is late, who would have expected this to happen?” Remus commented in a monotonous tone, earning laughter from James, Lily, and Peter. “Would have been on time but I got distracted by Y/N out in the forbidden forest trying to sneak a bowtruckle into her pocket!” Sirius grinned. “You know, I’m not sure that’s exactly how it went,” Y/N quipped. “I think the most important question here is: do you actually have a bowtruckle in your pocket?” James asked her. “Unfortunately, I do not. I actually was wanting to get a few to live in my garden at home but my mother thinks they’re vermin and forbade it,” Y/N admitted.
“No problem, here’s the plan: We find a bowtruckle for you. We spend the entire year training it to play camouflage and be still when other humans come in the garden, and boom-your parents will never even notice it,” James proposed. Y/N was taken aback at his willingness to help her at the drop of a hat, but she tried not to show it. “Do you really think that will work?” she asked him. “Of course! Bowtruckles are very intelligent,” James shrugged. “Plus, your mother doesn’t pay much attention to things that she deems unnecessary,” Sirius added. “Sirius!” Lily scolded. “Oh, no, it’s okay! He’s totally right,” Y/N assured Lily with a laugh. “She’s been in my conservatory maybe three times, and all she ever does is glance around and say ‘it looks nice, dear,’” Y/N over-corrected her posture and did an exaggerated impression of her mother. “As long as it didn’t move around, she would probably just see green and think it belongs there,” Y/N added.
“Sounds doable,” Remus shrugged, “When do we want to start?” he asked. “Do you all really want to do this?” Y/N asked, looking to each of them. “It does sound fun,” Lily nodded. “Plus, I love any excuse to piss off parents,” Sirius smirked. “I think we’re all in,” Peter added. “Alright,” Y/N smiled. “Maybe we can skip lunch in the great hall tomorrow and bring our food out to the forbidden forest instead?” Y/N suggested. “It could be like a picnic and a mission all in one.” “Oh, I think lunch in the forest would be lovely!” Lily exclaimed. “Lunch tomorrow, then. Operation Bowtruckle is a-go!” James declared. Y/N grinned as the group split up to finish picking out their sweets.
“I can’t believe they just decided to up and help me like that,” Y/N told Sirius as she picked up a tin of lemon-sherbets. “I told you, they like you already. Plus, we all love a good mission,” Sirius smiled and nudged her shoulder with his. “I’m really excited, it sounds fun. Plus, I think it’ll be a nice way to stick it to my family once the school year ends,” Y/N admitted, “It’s not harmful in any way, but it’s slightly petty and I think it’ll make me feel a little better.” “I personally don’t think it’s enough to make up for them selling your freedom, but if it makes you feel better about it than it’s a start,” Sirius shrugged. Y/N froze at his words but quickly snapped herself out of it, hoping that Sirius wouldn’t notice, but he did.
“I... I didn’t mean it like that,” Sirius told her softly. “It’s okay, really-“ Y/N tried to stop him but he cut her off. “I just mean that they’re asking a lot of you, and sneaking in a two-inch leaf creature isn’t nearly on the same scale of sacrifice,” He told her. “No, you’re right. I just don’t really have any other way to rebel so I’m doing what I can,” Y/N shrugged and gave a light laugh, and Sirius could tell she didn’t want to pursue the topic any further. “Maybe we can train it to be very stealthy and sneak around your house making noises to mess with your mum?” Sirius joked, slinging an arm around Y/N’s shoulder. “What,” Y/N laughed, “You want to use a bowtruckle to gaslight my parents into thinking the manor is haunted?” Sirius joined in her laughter for a moment before shaking his head. “I was thinking more along the lines of rodents in the walls but I like where your mind is,” Sirius told her, and they both burst into laughter again. “You’re crazy, Sirius Black,” Y/N laughed as she shook her head.
The teenagers finished picking out their sweets and the group reconvened outside of Honeydukes. “Anyone fancy a trip to Zonko’s?” Remus offered. “I actually need to go to Scrivenshaft's for a new quill,” Lily replied. “Oh, I wanted to get some parchment and quills for journaling!” Y/N agreed. “The boys always lose their heads in Zonko’s anyway. Y/N, why don’t you and I go get our supplies and leave them to their toys,” Lily flashed Y/N a wink as all of the marauders began to protest. “They aren’t toys!” Peter cried. “We’re planning chaos!” Sirius protested. “Yes, I can see what you mean. They’re obviously very passionate about the pranks,” Y/N laughed, “I’d love to join you, Lily.” And with that, the group split into two.
“So you said that you and Sirius grew up together?” Lily asked as the girls made their way through Hogsmeade. “Yeah, our parents are good friends so we spent a lot of time together as children. Shortly after the start of first year my parents wrote me a letter saying that Sirius was becoming too much of a troublemaker and that I wasn’t to see him anymore,” Y/N admitted. “And that was just… it?” Lily asked. There was no judgment in her question, just complete surprise. “That was it. The society we grew up in, what Sirius did is almost unheard of. We’re trained from birth to listen to our parents and be upstanding members of the community. If our parents tell us that we aren’t to associate with someone, we never see them again. Image and status are everything to them,” Y/N told her.
“So what changed?” Lily asked, opening the door to Scrivenshaft's and holding it for Y/N to enter. “I don’t know, I ran into Sirius at my engagement party over the summer and I was a little bit miserable. Sirius was the only one who noticed, and we talked and, I don’t know, it was nice to have a genuine conversation with someone. It was like no time had passed and I realized that I missed him. That’s sort of crazy, isn’t it?” Y/N laughed nervously. “That’s not crazy at all, everyone needs friends that they can depend on, and Sirius is a good one,” Lily smiled. “But let’s back up just a tad… You’re engaged?” Lily asked incredulously. “Yes. Well, sort of. I mean… Yes. My parents promised me to the son of another family when we were children. Now we’re to be married when the school year ends,” Y/N explained. “Y/N that’s… heavy,” Lily stopped rummaging through shelves to look at Y/N. “Oh, it’s alright. Peter seems nice, and financially well off, and I’ve been prepared for this for years so it’s okay,” Y/N nodded and Lily didn’t want to press on.
“But you and Sirius seem to have reconnected without a hitch,” Lily offered. “Oh, yeah absolutely. It’s weird how we’ve only just picked up again and he already seems to know me better than my family and my other friends,” Y/N pondered. A knowing glimmer shone in Lily’s eyes and she just nodded as Y/N began looking for the parchment she needed. Lily stood pondering for a moment before catching up with Y/N. She decided it was best to not press on and changed the subject. “That’s the best parchment for personal writing, I think. Do you write?” Lily asked her. “I like to write out my feelings, mostly. Sometimes I write poetry, but that’s pretty much the same thing only in a stuck-up way,” Y/N laughed, “What about you?” “I don’t think poetry is stuck up at all, I think it’s beautiful! And I like to journal, write about my day, things to preserve memories, you know?” Lily replied. Y/N smiled, “I think that’s brilliant. I’ll have to try that-writing down my favorite memories from the day.”
“I’d love to read more poetry,” Lily pondered aloud. “Oh, I could recommend you some books! My parents had me reading poetry my whole life to improve my prose, that’s how I got into writing it,” Y/N offered. “I would love that! What else do you like to read?” Lily asked. “Old stuff, mostly,” Y/N admitted with a laugh, “Shakespeare, Dickens, Brontë, Wilde, stuff like that.” “All good, yes, but hear me out: modern sci-fi, or if that’s a little too much for you, some romance?” Lily suggested. “I’d be open to both, honestly,” Y/N nodded. “How about we do a book swap? Every Sunday we meet in the library and pick out a book for the other to read-You pick out a poetry book for me, I pick something modern and muggle for you, and then the following Saturday we can talk about the books!” Lily exclaimed. “Lily Evans, I think we’re going to be very good friends,” Y/N grinned as she tossed her arm around Lily’s shoulders and the girls made their way to the counter.
“Hey, baby, I’m home!” Sirius dropped his bags on the floor, walking into the living room to greet you.
You squeaked and pulled your blanket over your body.
Sirius frowned, walking over to you. “Why’re you hiding, bee?”
You peeked out, biting your lip anxiously. “I’m, er… I’m just cold, is all.”
Sirius’s lip quirked. “Well I’m here now, princess. You don’t need to use a blanket for warmth.”
You pulled the blanket higher. “I- I just want the blanket…”
Sirius raised an eyebrow. “Babe, are you naked or something?”
You turned bright red. “What?? No, no, no, it’s nothing like that!”
“Why are you so opposed to me looking under the blanket, then?” He laughed.
You sighed. “Please don’t make fun of me.” You slowly lowered the blanket, revealing Sirius’s faded Weird Sisters t-shirt. “I’ve kinda… been wearing your clothes around the house while you’ve been gone,” you explained shyly.
Sirius’s eyes widened. “Oh! (Y/N), you don’t need to be embarrassed about that.” He curled up on the couch next to you. “It’s honestly really cute that you like wearing my clothes.” He leaned closer, kissing underneath your ear and muttering, “And a bit sexy, to tell the truth.”
You blinked. “Really?” you whispered.
“Totally,” he confirmed, pulling you onto his lap. “I mean, you were hot before, but now…” He fingered the edge of the shirt. “Something about seeing you in my clothes…” He tilted his head back and moaned.
You went red and slapped his chest. “Sirius!”
He burst out laughing and pulled you against him. “I’m kidding, I’m kidding!” He kissed your forehead. “You do look really cute, though.”
You allowed yourself a small smile. “Thanks, Sirius.”
“Now we just need to get it off you…” Sirius smirked, teasingly playing with the end of the shirt.
“Sirius!”
Summary: The one where they hated each other - or maybe they just pretend?
Tumblr media
Knowing somebody for most of your life can still bring a lot of surprises. And their relation was the perfect example of this. They have known each other since childhood - both came from families who believed in blood purity. And they hated each other - or they pretended it was this way. They were complete opposites - she was calm, ambitious and neat. He was energetic, loud and nosy. She was Slytherin, and he was Gryffindor. He was against his family's beliefs and wasn't afraid to speak about it loudly. She was obedient to her parents, or rather she learned to act like it perfectly because she was too scared to stand up to them.
Because of their differences, they hated each other and made it very clear to everybody around. However, they couldn't mistake their closest friends. They often caught them looking at another one from the side or the look on their faces when the other was mentioned. And even if they tried to hate each other, they always found something to admire in the other one. He couldn't miss her witty jokes when she tried to change her housemates' minds. When she lost her temper, the spells she cast were advanced and made in her unique style. And even if he pretended he didn't see it, he caught her helping youngsters to feel safe and comfortable, without caring about their houses and blood status. She couldn't be indifferent to his charm and loyalty. In their classes, she saw how talented he was and how easily he could connect with everybody. In the deep of night, she'd quietly admitted she was slightly jealous of his bravery. And with time, both hearts started beating faster at the sight of each other.
Their friends couldn't stand their ingoing complaining and secret simping between them. The rest of the Marauders devised a plan to make them confess their feelings. They used the fact Remus got paired with her for the potions project, and they spent a lot of time together after classes. He again asked her to meet in the library, but what was unusual that day was James and Sirius at the next table. They talked quietly about their project, and Sirius couldn't help but watch them closely. He watched how she smiled at Remus and laughed at something he said. He noticed how she ran her hand through her hair or tapped the top of her nose with a pencil when she wondered about something. He knew Moony very well and was surprised that he acted so openly towards her. And it made his blood boil in his veins. At every touch on her hand, Sirius felt a pang in his heart. He watched them when they started gathering their things after they finished.
"I will walk you to your common room. Such a pretty lady shouldn't be alone that late." Remus smiled at her, and she laughed softly.
"It's not like I would be outside. I can handle myself, Remus." She touched his arm and looked at their neighbour. "I'm pretty sure you all have some mischief to plan, and I don't want to pull you away from it."
"I know you could handle yourself. I saw how good you are at charms. But it doesn't mean that you have to do it alone." Remus saw how Sirius' hands clenched into fists. "Even if we have something to plan, it can wait. By the way, did you change the way you make your hair? It suits you very well."
"Oh..." She touched her hair. "I didn't think that anybody would see it." She chucked, looking at him. She jumped a little when Sirius, who sat behind her, loudly closed the book he read.
"Oh, for Merlin's sake! Of course, everybody noticed it, woman!" She turned and looked at him with shock. "How could they not when you look even more beautiful than normal?" Even if she wanted to scream at him at the beginning, the last sentence made her speechless. She could just blink at him when he looked angry at Remus, who couldn't stop his all-knowing smile. It was something that made him realise it was planned by his friends. "You bloody idiots..." He whispered, suddenly feeling ashamed that he had allowed his emotion to take the best of him.
"You think I am pretty?" She asked quietly, making him look at her with a soft smile. They heard both men stand up and walk away, telling them something like: "We leave you now, lovebirds." He watched how she bit her lower lip, and he needed everything in himself to not touch it.
"I think that everybody with eyes could say it. You are pretty." She watched him closely, and her cheeks grew hotter against her will.
"You're making jokes about me right now?" He saw that she started breathing a little faster. When he didn't say anything, she quickly took her things and nearly ran from the library. Sirius knew that it was time to finally stop acting with his proudness. He ran after her, screaming to the librarian his goodbye. He called after her, but she didn't stop. When he caught her, he grabbed her hand, making her look at him.
"I'm not making any jokes right now. You are beautiful! And you are so talented and brilliant that nobody can be compared to you." She breathed quickly from her run and felt tears in her eyes.
"Why have you changed your mind right now?! You've made it pretty clear that you hate me, Black! You made it clear that you despise me! So please, make me understand what changed! Because if it's not a joke, I can only think that you bet with the rest of your friends.
"I did not, I swear! I hated you, or rather I wanted to hate you. But you are too perfect to make me feel this way. All you have made - it makes me only affected more. I only wanted to know more and more, but what stopped me was that you'll become one of them. You always looked up to your family, and I only waited for when you'll become one of them. But it didn't matter anymore because when I watched Moony flirt with you, I wanted to be in his place." He watched how her face changed - he saw hurt in her eyes.
"You idiot... Did it not come to your stupid mind that I could have no other choice?! Not all of us have friends who unconditionally have our back. Or take you in when you want to leave it all and start to live on your own rules. Everything I knew my whole life -it was judging me on the littlest thing, the littlest mistake. And now, you're telling me that you hate me because I wanted to survive." She choked, covering her lips with his hand.
"I... I am so sorry... I didn't know."
"You should! You were in the same position! You know very well that families like ours can make your life hell when you are against them." He didn't think about it anymore, just wrapped his arms around her and brought her to his chest. She tried to protest at the start but quickly allowed him to hold her when unwanted tears started to run down her cheeks.
"Now you have somebody like this... who will have your back no matter what and take you in when needed. I want to be this person. I want to make you smile and laugh and be here to wipe your tears. I'll take care of you. If you allow me." She closed her hand on his robe, starting to calm down.
"Take me to a date first, Black." She tried to joke, sniffing. He chuckled, squeezing her gently.
"You're free this Saturday?" When she looked at him, he smiled, and all she saw on his face was serious. He gently wiped the tears from his cheek with his thumb. "So what will you say, sweetness?"
"I'm free." She smiled softly. "And I'm sorry I was such a bitch to you... I... I was jealous, you know? That you were brave enough to make yourself free. And I shouldn't make you guilty for that. I didn't want you to know I couldn't do something similar for myself."
"We both made mistakes... And we both can fix them. Especially because I bloody fancy you, and I will do everything for you to believe me." she bit her lip again, and this time he gently touched it to make her let go of it.
"I bloody fancy you either, Black." He smiled widely and couldn't help but quickly peck her lips, making her laugh. "Hey, Mister, wait for our date with that!"
"It will be the best date in your life! I swear! And I promise that we'll make everything work. And you'll be free."
She was too moved up to say anything, so she just hugged him closely. And for the first time in a very long, she felt hope. She felt hope to be free, to be loved and safe.
Rule Breaker
Requested on Wattpad
Pairing: Younger Sirius Black x fem!reader
Genre: Fluff, Angst
Characters: Sirius, Y/N, Remus, James, Peter, Lily
A/N: Y/N is Remus’s younger sister.
Description: When Sirius sees Y/N being bullied by Lucius, he comes and saves the day. Since then, the pair have been inseparable.
It’s hard to believe that back in your first year at Hogwarts you were a goody two shoes and given that you were Remus’s little sister, you had pressure on you to turn out like him even if you were only one year younger. On your first day, Remus made sure to take care of you and introduced you to his friends, the Marauders: James Potter, Peter Pettigrew and Sirius Black. That was the worst thing that he could have done because when you met Sirius, you instantly developed feelings for him.
Over the years, your feelings for him only grew and you were sure he was catching on. You were now in your 5th year and Sirius in his 6th and you were struggling to keep your feelings a secret. However, a moment of complete sadness turned into the happiest thing that could have happened to you.
Sirius was walking down the hallway to meet the other Marauders in the library when he spotted you being cornered by Lucius Malfoy. He was hurling insult after insult to you, backing you against the wall. Sirius’s blood began to boil as he watched the tears fall down your cheeks and the shakiness of your body as Lucius poked his finger in your face.
Before he could think about what he was doing, Sirius bounded over toward the both of you and pushed Lucius away, causing him to fall on his ass. Sirius held his hand out and pulled you up, wrapping an arm around your waist and softening his expression. “Are you alright?” You sniffled and nodded your head, tucking your hair behind your ears.
He turned his attention back to Lucius, his expression hardening again. “Don’t you ever come near her again. I don’t care if your family is rich and powerful, I will pound you into the ground if I hear that you have even glanced at her wrong, understand?”
At this point, Sirius was knelt down to Lucius’s level and was glaring at him. Lucius nodded slowly before getting up and running the opposite way. Sirius turned around and opened his mouth to speak to you when he was met with your lips pressing themselves against his. At first he was surprised and didn’t react straight away but when he realised what was going on he melted into the kiss, his arms wrapping tight around you and kissing you back.
You pulled away but didn’t make eye contact, clearly ashamed of what you had done. “I’m sorry, Sirius, I don’t know what came over me.” He shook his head and ran his hands up and down your arms. “You don’t need to be sorry. You have no idea how long I’ve been wanting to do that.”
You slowly opened your eyes and looked at him, smiling widely. “Really? I never thought you’d feel the same way.” Sirius chuckled and leaned down, pressing another kiss to your lips.
______________________________________________
You were now in sixth year and you couldn’t believe that a whole year had passed since you and Sirius admitted your feelings to each other. However, Sirius wanted to keep your relationship a secret because he didn’t know how Remus would react to him dating his younger sister. You completely understood this but it was getting harder and harder to hide it.
You and Sirius had made plans with each other to make excuses to Lily and the Marauders and sneak off to somewhere secluded for the night, just to be together. The next morning, though, your plan to keep your relationship a secret was ruined.
Lily and James became increasingly suspicious of you both when you turned up to the dorm yawning and exhausted. They both looked at each other and Lily leaned in, ushering James to do the same. “Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” James nodded his head and smiled. “Absolutely! Let’s see if we can catch them out.”
Lily and James leaned back with small smirks on their faces. “Err, Y/N. Why are you so tired? I thought you went to bed early last night.” Your eyes widened a little. “Err, I did. But I couldn’t sleep so I went for a walk.” James then put Sirius on the spot. “What about you? Why are you so tired?” Sirius looked sheepish and scratched the back of his head. “I don’t know, maybe I just didn’t get enough sleep.”
Lily and James burst out laughing whilst Peter and Remus looked over at them, confused. “What’s so funny? I don’t see what was so hilarious about their response.” Lily smiled and raised her eyebrows at you. “You know what’s funny, don’t you Y/N? Tell us the secret that you’ve been hiding.”
You shrugged your shoulders. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.” James sniggered. “Yes you do, you both do. C’mon, tell us Sirius.” Sirius opened his mouth to protest but couldn’t find the words to lie again. His shoulders slunk slightly and he cringed as the words fell from his mouth.
“Me and Y/N are in a relationship. We have been for nearly a year now. We’re sorry we didn’t tell you all sooner, we just didn’t know how you were going to react.” James, Lily and Peter all jumped up and rushed over, congratulating you whilst Remus stayed off to the side, frustration evident in his features.
You both gulped and walked over to him, hand in hand. “Hey, bro.” He looked over at you and narrowed his eyes. “I want to know exactly what has been going on over this past year.” Sirius stepped forward and gulped. “Well, it started when I noticed Malfoy bullying her in the hallway. I protected her and one thing led to another, and... we... kissed. Since then, we have been sneaking off every chance we get to be with each other. We didn’t want anyone to know.”
Lily, James and Peter smiled whilst Remus’s face filled with fury. “Seriously Sirius?! You’re supposed to be my best friend and you sneak off with my sister every night and do god knows what to her!” He shakes his head. “I don’t want you seeing her anymore.”
Both yours and Sirius’s faces dropped; your eyes beginning to fill with tears and a gut-wrenching feeling in the pit of your stomach. Sirius wrapped an arm around your shoulders and hugged you into his chest, kissing the top of your head.
Remus’s facade staggered once he seen the way you both were together. You looked over at him with watery eyes and began to cry. “Please, Remus. Don’t make me do this. I love him.” Seeing the way you clung to Sirius and the emotion in your voice toppled his decision.
He took a deep breath and nodded his head before opening his arms. “Come here, Y/N.” You looked up at Sirius and touched your forehead with his before taking a slow walk over into Remus’s arms. He looked down at you with a small smile.
“I can see how much he means to you. I can’t be the one to upset you by taking him away. I accept your relationship.” You shone a beaming smile up at your brother before giving him a hug and skipping your way over to Sirius. “But Sirius, you must promise not to hurt my sister. I will kill you if you ever do anything that upsets her.”
Sirius nodded in response and turned his attention to you. “I would never dream of hurting her. She’s the love of my life.” You both slowly leaned in and kissed, soft and passionate, before intwining hands and heading to the great hall for breakfast.
“Y/N! It was just a prank!” Sirius shouted at you as you stood completely still in the hallway. James was stifling a laugh behind him and Remus was snickering to himself, Peter rolling around on the floor with laughter.
Just moments before you were perfectly fine, you were walking with your friends to the great hall for lunch, holding a scroll of your Transfiguration thesis. Then out of no where, there was a green, thick, sticky liquid dripping from your head, shoulders and arms. You looked down at your hands, the thesis was ruined. Rage was bubbling in your body, you had worked for months on your thesis and now it had been ruined you felt like you could kill Sirius.
“I fucking hate you guys.” Was all you said before speed walking off to the girls bathroom. They had never gone this far. Not only were you humiliated in front of all your friends, but you had told the boys time and time again that you didn’t find their pranks funny. Especially the ones on you. Sure you found the ones on the teachers absolutely hilarious but on you, when you were holding something extremely important. You didn’t exactly appreciate it.
“Stupid boys, stupid pranks.” You mumbled to yourself, scraping off the green liquid from your shoulders. You reached into your robes and pulled out your wand, “Aguamenti.” Water shot from your wand in a stream, you aimed the water at your head as you washed the green liquid out of your hair and off your clothes. You were left with slightly stained clothes and soggy hair for the next few hours.
You had ignored Sirius and the rest of his friends in every class you had together. You could not look him in the eye after that prank. It didn’t feel like a prank, but you knew deep down that it was.
Time: 4:47pm
Location: Gryffindor Common room
After them ruining your essay, you were sat on a couch opposite the fireplace rewriting it. There was a quiet chatter from everyone else sat there studying, relaxing or playing gobstones or wizards chess. That was quickly ruined when the resident, self proclaimed ‘Marauders’ came bursting through the painting. Cheering, shouting, punching each other.
“You did well on that one padfoot,” James shouted, slapping Sirius on the back hard. “He looked like he was going to rip your face off!”
“Oh I saw, bit risky but I’m still here and not in detention again so worth it!” Sirius replied. Usually when you were in the common room, you’d run over to him all excited and ask him what they’d done this time, he looked at you expectantly. But you didn’t budge, you just stared at him expressionless. Then got back to writing.
“Still ignoring you is she?” Remus asked him.
“Yeah she is,” he replied, looking over his shoulder at him, sighing. “I knew that prank was too far.”
“She was carrying her Transfigurations thesis, I heard her talking to Lily about it in Potions,” Peter chimes in.
“Oh shit really?” James said.
“Fuck.” Sirius felt guilty, he didn’t mean to ruin your thesis but he had done. “I should apologise,”
“Yeah you should mate,” James shoved his shoulder forcing him in your direction.
He walked over, hands in his pockets and sat next to you on the other end of the couch. Slowly he scooted closer to you. “Hey Y/N…” he started.
You looked up at him, placing your quill back into the ink pot. “What.”
“Cheers Moony, I think i’m gonna need all the luck i can get.”
“I’m sorry about the prank earlier i didn’t mean to…” You stood up, grabbed your things and walked up the stairs and into your dorm to finish what you had been writing there.
“Oh pads, you fucked up.” Remus said, leaning against the fireplace, James sat next to him and Peter sat on the floor. “Good luck with that one.”
Time: 7:18
Location: School Grounds
You had left the common room about an hour ago to get away from everyone; Lily, Marlene, Sirius, James and you were now sat on the hill down to Ogg’s hut [the gamekeeper] just enjoying the serenity of hogwarts. Since first year, you w sat down and truly admired how beautiful it is.
‘I’ve been here for 6 years…and I still can’t get over how gorgeous this castle it…’ you thought to yourself, “next year i’ll be leaving…going off into the wizarding world for the first time as an adult. I hope i can be a magizoologist…’
Leaves behind you rustled and the grass crunched behind you softly, “Go away Sirius, I don’t want to talk to you!” when you turned around instead of seeing the tall, haughty, curly haired young man. You saw a large black dog, groomed perfectly, snout snuffling at the ground then it looked up at you.
“Oh hello little guy,” you said, patting the grass next to you, “I don’t bite, okay wait hang on, don’t bite me please.”
The dog sat next to you as you began to stroke its head. “What’re you doing here?” you asked.
‘I wonder if…’ you thought to yourself
He tilted his head, almost in response. “Well…I’m just blowing off steam from the castle life i guess, I think i’m in love with someone, but today he was a right twat to me and I feel like I shouldn’t be in love with him y’know? Like he’s a twat to people, but…He’s only joking he’s actually really sweet, and he helps me when i’m struggling in classes. I just don’t know what to do,”
You looked at the dog as if he was going to respond, “I just…don’t know what to do,” you sighed looking back to the ground.
“Y/N!” Your name was called from the doorway, Lily was stood there, holding a jacket. “It’s really cold Y/N why are you out here?”
“It’s really relaxing!! I swear it’s okay and I’m not cold,” you said to her jumping up.
“Just come back inside, I don’t want you catching a cold…” she sighed, “Take this jacket and come with me.”
“But i don’t want to…” She stopped you talking by throwing the jacket around your shoulders and dragging you through the castle. “Why are you like this Lils?”
“Oh sorry I care about you and don’t want you catching hypothermia,” she replied, “God I’m like your mother.”
“You’re much nicer than my mother so.” You laughed, she was pulling you the longest way back to the common room. “Why are we going this way?”
“Because why not, You’re the one who was out after curfew, I just don’t want us to get caught!” she explained, finally reaching the common room once more. When the warmth of the fire hit your skin you smiled, James was sat on the table in the corner with Sirius on one of the chairs and Lupin on the other.
“Where’s Pettigrew?” you whispered to Lily.
“Oh he went to bed, him and James got into a heated argument and he stormed off,” she replied, “Sirius is sorry by the way,” she added
“Well, until he makes it up to me somehow, I don’t care,” you responded
“Y/N you are so stubborn,” she laughs, “Just…Give him a chance to talk,”
“Maybe, I’ll think about it.” You said, “Can i go up to bed now, I’m kinda tired.”
“Go to sleep if you’re tired, Get a good night sleep and then wake up fresh!!” She encouraged.
“Okay, Goodnight Lils,” you said, walked passed her and towards the stairs.
“Goodnight Y/N.”
You glanced at Sirius as you walked, he seemed to be looking at you but you didn’t know if he was or he was just looking around
Time: 8:41 am
Location: Great Hall
“Good morning Lils,” you greeted sitting down with her on the Gryffindor Table.
“Morning Y/N, you refreshed today?” She asked, handing you a tray of toast, offering you a slice. You took two slices and dropped them onto your plate.
“Yeah’! I’m feeling much better,” you replied. Sirius walked up to you, and tapped you on the shoulder.
“Hey Y/N, can i talk to you?” He asked. You glanced over at Lily and remember what she said to you, her words echoing in your ears…
“Just…Give him a chance to talk,”
“Alright,” You followed Sirius to outside the great hall. The hallways were pretty empty due to it being breakfast. “What do you want to say to me?”
“I really am sorry Y/N i didn’t mean to ruin your thesis because i know how long you’ve been working on it and I ruined that with my stupid joke, I am really sorry!” He started, he didn’t make eye contact with you as he appeared to be embarrassed. “And I really am sorry about it…I over heard that you think you’re in love…”
You started a sentence, cutting him off “I know it was you last night Sirius, I know you’re an animagi, and I know it was you as a dog, I’m not stupid.”
“Oh so…” He didn’t know what to say next.
“I’m in love with you…But you really fucking hurt me yesterday by fucking up my essay,” You said, looking up at him. He raised his head and made direct eye contact with you.
“Well, I’m in love with you too, I just didn’t know how to tell you.” He replied, you smiled at him, you stood on your tiptoes and kissed him lightly on the lips then you pulled away.
“Does this mean we’re- You were cut off by him pulling you in for a more passionate kiss, he was holding your waist as he leant over to kiss you.
“Yes. We’re together Y/N, I thought you were smart!”
“Oi!” you pulled away from him laughing.
Sirius Black x reader
Summary:
It is a normal Sunday and you show Sirius a new game. It all ends with a little plot.
Paring: Sirius Black x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Smut
Before you read this you should know that english isn’t my first language and it is my first ever written smut. So tell me if something is wrong. Now have fun ; )
It was a normal Sunday in Hogwarts. Sirius was with y/n in the room of Requirement. Like every Sunday they were listening to Queen , while the muggleborn of the two showed him some things from the muggle world.  Today she showed him Uno. A great game which is plenty of fun.
“Now you need to draw 2 Cards.” She grins evil at the boy across from him as she takes a sip from her coke.
He looks up. "What? Why?”
“Well, do you see the plus besides the 2? That means you need to draw 2”
“That’s not fair! Can’t I just put my draw 2 on top of yours and you need to draw 4?” , he showed her the red draw 2 card.
“No you said without the mean rule!” She still grins at him. “Besides I never said this will be a fair game, Siri”
“Don’t you even dare to call me that!” He tried to not show that he likes it when she gives him stupid nicknames. The truth was he knew he was falling for her.  He realized it when she hit Snivellus straight in the face after he called a little boy a mudblood. He thought he couldn’t love someone more like her badass self at that moment. But not only his feelings changed for her, no, the tension he has every time he sees her gets more intense from day to day.
He did draw 2 but then still put down his red draw 2. She did draw 2 and they played like this for quite some time.
 He had to stop just as she took one of the strawberry lollipops and began to suck at it with pleasure. He couldn’t stop staring at her lips around the lollipop, imaging things he shouldn’t but he couldn’t help himself. He started to think about how her Lips would taste on his , maybe it would taste after the coke she just drank or even better, after strawberries. He imagined how her lips would wander down his neck, sucking at his sweet spot.
“Sirius ,you need to draw 2!”  While he was day dreaming she had put down a draw 2 card.
He turns a little red coming out of his daydream ,but he could feel the traces of it. He inconspicuously tried to put the pillow beside him over his growing problem, while he drew 2 with a shaky hand.
 She already figured out what he has but still needs to tease him. She let her lolly plop out of her mouth and licked it a few times, while she watched his face turn red, knowing exactly what she did.
“Oh Sirius you are so red! Let me feel your forehead, not that you got ill like James!” She stood up and went over to Sirius who was protesting against it.  She leaned down and he could see into her cleavage.
He saw a red lace bra, while she felt his forehead. He swallowed. Merlin, this girl was killing him.
She pretended to lose her balance and dropped onto his lap.
He bit onto his bottom lip trying to not let her hear his moan, but he failed.  God Damnit!
“ Oh I am sooooo sorry Sirius! I just lost my balance!”
She looked at him all innocent. But by Merlin he knew she wasn’t that innocent. She was so close that he could smell her lovely scent, the same he smelled last week because of the love potion. He really tried not to kiss her, but he couldn't resist her anymore.
“I am sorry.” After those words he kissed her. This kiss was even better than he could have imagined. Her lips fitted perfectly onto his, they were so soft that he couldn’t get enough of them. Her lips tasted like strawberries. To his luck she kisses him back.
The kiss got more and more intense while Killer Queen was playing in the background and by Merlin she was fucking killing him.
She gets up a bit while still kissing him and takes the pillow away and then settles down on his lap again. She could feel him now and god it made her go crazy. She moved back and forth on his lap while her lips wandered to his neck to kiss it softly.
Sirius couldn’t hold it back and moaned her name out.
“Y/N please don’t stop” This was definitely better than he could have ever imagined.  Her on his lap kissing his soft spots, moving exactly the way he likes. He grabbed her hip and pulled her even closer, while he drove with his hands underneath her sweater to take it off.
She immediately got goosebumps.
He smiled, knowing how she reacts to his touch. He started kissing her neck. She drives with her hands in his hair.  He softly kissed her chest and he could feel under his lips how she was breathing heavier and heavier. She still hasn’t moaned, but he wanted to hear that pretty noise.  He drove his hands down to her ass and grabbed it tight to hold her in place while he sucked on her soft skin just above her bra cup.
All of this made Y/N feel so much pressure that she even got wetter when this was even possible. She was still holding it in tight but then Sirius bit lightly into the hickey he had just made. She let go of a loud moan.
 “God Sirius!”
“Yes Darling?” He grinds up on her.
He makes her go crazy with only two words.
“You still have too many clothes on”
“Change it!”
As if she only had waited for it she took off his hoodie and shirt. She puts her hand on his chest, underneath it she could feel his heart racing.  She let her hand wander down and opened his belt and pants with her hands.
While she does that he takes off her bra and tosses  it across the room and starts sucking on her already hardened nipples.
She moans  and drives with her hand in his pants to massage his hard member through his boxer shorts. They already had a wet spot on them from his pre cum.  She smiled while she could feel his heart race even faster and she could feel how his mouth vibrates around her left nipple because of his moans.
He then started to massage her right breast. On his left thigh he could feel a wet spot form, exactly where her throbbing cunt was, separated only by the thin fabric of her panties. He smirks and puts his other hand under the fabric of her skirt. Then his hands slowly pushed it up. He popped her breast out of his mouth and looked at her. He gently pushed her back.
She looked up at him surprised but he just smirked and hovered over her. His legs slowly opened hers. One of his hands , that was beside her head, starts wandering to her center.  His long fingers pushed her slip to the side. Two of his fingers dipped in her wet throbbing pussy.
“Sirius!” she moans under her breath.
He looked at her, and he could swear this was the hottest thing he ever saw.
His fingers move inside of her. She tried to get closer to them but she couldn’t because he took his fingers out. She immediately felt empty.
“You are already so wet for me” He looked at the cum on his fingers and then licked it up. “Merlin this tastes so good”
She moaned, at this moment she wanted nothing more than Sirius between her legs.
“Sirius…… Please!”
“What do you want from me, say it”
She turned red and looked up at him.
He smirks. “ Say it”  He knew what she wanted from him but he wanted to hear it from her.
"Please…. Fuck me, make me come.”
That's what he wanted to hear. He took off her panties while he started kissing her from the neck further and further down. He made some hickeys along the way.
“Stop being a tease!”  She wanted him now.
He laughed a little. His head was now between her thighs. His nose smelled the sweet
the lovely scent of her pulsating and dripping pussy. He then got closer and licked through her sweet lips.
“Oh lord…. Sirius!”
Her hands grabbed into his hair and pulled him closer on them. He started circling her lit with his tongue . She grabbed his hair tighter. He pushes two of his fingers inside of her, they pumped in and out.
“Right there! Fuck”
By now she was a moaning mess and he loved it, but he didn’t want her to come like this. He wanted her on his cock. He stopped and sat up.
She looks up at him. He was still smirking. The picture of her laying in front of him, with pure lust in her eyes makes his cock shift in his boxers.
She sees it and sits up. She crawls to him and then sits down in his lap.
“Just relax and let me help you”
She then takes off his boxers and grins. She puts her hand around his cock and moves it up and down. On his tip is already some precum. She licks it away. He moaned her name over and over. The only things you could hear in the room was the sound of her sucking his dick and his moaning.
She takes it completely in her mouth and moves her head up and down.
He grabbed her by her hair.“Y/N stop”
She looked up. “Why?”
“I want you to sit on it!” He picked her up and now her pussy was just above his cock.
“Alright” She kissed him and lowered herself onto him.
They both moaned in the kiss.
“Fuck” His cock filed her pussy complet out.
“Shit!” , he felt her pussy clench around him. He lowered his head into her chest and started kissing her soft skin. It tastes salty because of the sweat.  He sucked on some parts.  They were a moaning mess.
You could only hear the sound of skin slapping against skin and their moans.
She grabs his shoulders and starts riding him. Calling out Sirius name like a prayer. “Oh yes right there!”  She felt a knot in her center that grows bigger with every thrust. “I am going to cum!”
“Come on me, I want to feel it all around me!”  He gets one of his hands down and starts circling her clit.
By now she is screaming and moaning. Suddenly the knot explodes and she cums, clenching tight around him. She screamed his name “Sirius Fuck!”
She still rides him.  “Please come inside of me! I want to be filled up by you!”
He feels his cock twitching like crazy and suddenly he comes. It felt so good, he moaned her name and gave her small love bites.
He wants to say something but Y/N opens her mouth, But it wasn’t her voice. It was James.
“Sirius wake up!'' Come on”
He wakes up and sees James' face. Fuck it was just a dream.
“Finally Y/N is waiting for you, hurry up or i tell her you moaned her name like 20 times!”
He got red. “Don’t you dare!”
“Hurry or I will!”
He sighed and got up. He needs to do something about it.
“You’re not gonna believe this.” Y/N giggled as they sat down beside their boyfriend of nearly four years. The couple had decided to skip classes and spend the day having a picnic by the Forbidden Forest.
“And what's that, pup?” Sirius teased, watching as Y/N pulled a bottle out of the picnic basket. “Ta da! I can't believe they actually had it!” They exclaimed happily
“Darling, what is that? Some kind of champagne?”
Y/N’s eyes widened in shock. How could he not know what fizzy wine was! It was their favorite drink for special occasions.
“Siri!! How could you not know what fizzy wine is!”
Sirius shrugged, “I’ve just never tried it before, pup. Cut me some slack. You know I prefer beer.” Y/N laughed, knowing that he wasn't wrong.
“Let me get you some.” They leaned over and pulled out one of the glasses before pouring a little bit into the cup. “Trust me, I think you'll like it.” They handed Sirius the glass.
“I’m trusting you, pup.” He glared before downing the whole cup. The fizziness bubbled inside his throat, sending him immediately into a coughing fit.
“What the bloody Hell!?” He coughed out.
Y/N merely giggled at their boyfriend's stupidity. “I forgot to tell you. That's why it's called Fizzy Wine. It's carbonated like soda.”
“It's killing me! How could you do this to me! I thought you loved me!” Siri choked out, causing Y/N to laugh even harder.
“You love me!”
Just then they were pinned to the blanket and were eye to eye with their partner.
Sirius looked down at them mischievously.
“You're damn right I do, pup. You're gonna pay for this.”
Chapter Three - New Rule
•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•
         Bianca and Chastity were sat on the field outside of the library, a blanket spread on the floor beneath them as they gossiped; it was chilly, but the sun was still shining down on them. It was a quarter past five, and Bianca swore she would leave for her home quarters any minute now. But the news of Casey Midge and Lawrence Saltwater's scandal in the girls' bathroom was just too juicy to wait for, and Chastity was a witness to the scene. Hogwarts was just brimming with gossip at any given day, truly a busy-body's paradise. "Apparently they've both got a month of detention - separately." Chastity laughed, the image of Sprout's face replaying in her mind as she'd opened the door to see Casey pressed against the sinks with Lawrence's hand up her blouse.
         "Oh Helga," Bianca snickered, "I reckon people are gonna be talking about this for weeks."
         "You just want to hope your uncle doesn't find out," Chastity said, pointing a manicured finger at her, "like he isn't crazy as it is."
         Bianca groaned and threw her head back. "I know, this is the last thing I need - I swear I'm the only girl in school not dating! How am I gonna get a date to the End of Year Ball with him breathing down my neck?”
         Chastity twirled a curl of dark hair with her finger, something she did when she was deep in thought. “Yeah, shame you can’t get around that somehow…”
         It wasn’t really as bad as she thought, Bianca acted like her uncle’s rule meant she would die alone; she didn’t see it now, but this rule was put in place to save her from not only heart-ache, but from boys like Lucius Malfoy too. A naive girl like Bianca would be played by someone like him like a puppet on a string until he got bored and tossed her aside for something new. But she couldn’t see that, she was blind to the warning signs, brainwashed by girly dramas that taught her that the right girl could tame a bad boy. But that was fantasy, Bianca just didn’t know it.
Tumblr media
Closing the door quietly behind her, Bianca walked into her home hiding a smile. On her way back she and Chastity had seen Slytherin’s own group of purebloods, loitering in the hallways with their neatly pressed robes and perfect hair, looking to her like they belonged with the paintings on the walls. She would have stayed there all day at the receiving end of his flirts had Lucius asked, but she was far over an hour late for dinner and would no doubt be in a lot of trouble.
“Bianca.”
The girl turned around to find her guardian stood in the living room with his arms crossed. She’d need to tread lightly if she wanted things to go in her favour. “Hey Uncle Walt…”
“Don’t hey me, Bianca. Where have you been?”
(Y/N) was sat in the living room, feet on the coffee table and a book in front of her face, Bianca fumed to herself when she noticed the smirk she was hiding. “I was just with Chastity… we were talking is all.”
What a crappy excuse. Professor Stratford could see right through her – as could most people, really, she was such an open book – and scrunched his brows. “Just talking?”
She might have gotten away with batting her eyes and making a slightly better excuse, if she hadn’t tried to redirect the attention to the Slytherin smirking from across the room. “Well didn’t you hear the news? (Y/N) is gonna try out for the Quidditch team this year.” Her cousin’s smile quickly dropped.
Their carer spluttered. “Quidditch?” He exclaimed, turning to his daughter. “What’s this about Quidditch again? I thought you decided you were gonna be a Healer? Work in St. Mungos with--”
“No, you decided.” (Y/N) interrupted, rolling her eyes and turning away with her book.
Walter’s face flushed. “Oh so you’re just gonna give all that up – the apprenticeship I have waiting for you – for what? So you can do-- so you can play Quidditch?”
(Y/N) rolled her eyes again, turning back around and closing her book, shooting Bianca a cold, hard glare. “Ask Bianca who walked her home.”
The Professor shook his head and waved a finger at her. “No now don’t try to change the subj-- wai-- what? Who walked you home?” His mood quickly changed at the distraction, the blood draining from his face as he turned to his dear niece.
Bianca sucked in a breath, hardly giving her cousin a scowl. She gave one last attempt at batting her eyes. “Don’t get upset Uncle, but… well there’s this boy--”
“Who’s a poisonous basta--”
“And I think he might ask me--”
“GIRLS!” The man exclaimed, holding his hands out to them. He gestured for them to sit, which they did (begrudgingly). “There are two rules – just two rules, in this house.” He waved a finger at the both of them. “Rule Number One: No Dating Until You Graduate. Rule Number Two: No. Dating. Until. You. Graduate. That’s it!” He scolded, throwing his arms up.
Bianca threw her arms back and groaned. Not even bothering to look to her cousin for help. “That’s not fair!” She all but screamed, crossing her arms across her chest. “I barely have a social life – everyone in school is dating!”
“Oh don’t be dramatic,” he huffed, “(Y/N) doesn’t date.”
“And I don’t need to,” (Y/N) rolled her eyes. Picking up her book again, dismissing the notion entirely. Earning a fleeting look of approval from her father.
The Hufflepuff scoffed at the comment, sneering at her cousin. “Oh you’re such a freak.” She spat, flicking her hair behind her shoulder.
“Better than a dosey, attention seeking brat.”
“That’s enough!” Walter interrupted, holding his hands up to silence them. “You know what, I see how this is going to go.” He said, gesturing for them to both sit still. “New rule: Bianca can date…” he started, watching Bianca’s face lighten up and (Y/N)’s twist up, “when (Y/N) does.” with that he turned and went to his desk by the window to get to marking some homework. Bianca’s face had never fallen faster. “What?” She exclaimed, ignoring (Y/N)’s satisfied look, standing up to argue her case. “But she’s a freak! What if she never dates?” “Well then you’ll never date.” Walter said, a pleased expression crossing his face. Then collected his papers and scrolls, and excused himself to his study.
How The Marauders React To You Being A Death Eater
SUPPORT TRANS WOMAN OF COLOUR NOW: https://www.twocc.us/donate/
FEATURING: James, Lilly, Sirius, Remus, Regulus, Peter and Severus
James:
James couldn't believe it.
You had gathered every one of your friends in the dorm during your last year and stared at them all with a blank look as you slowly explained that you would be leaving.
At first, James laughed along with Sirius but when you didn't laugh with them they quickly fell flat and waited for you to go on.
You explained that you would be leaving to join Voldemort and that just about set the room on fire as tensions rose.
Remus and Sirius began yelling while James quickly jumped up and let out a belly-aching laugh which cut everyone off as they all turned to look at him.
He had loved you since the first year, through thick and thin you had been with each other and surely this was just a bad joke that you had concocted with Severus probably considering you were spending more time with him than usual.
"Come on y/n that's not funny alright! I get it, we are all a bit on edge these days but that's a little bit too much okay?"
You simply stared at him with a quiver in your lower lip, not daring to speak in case your voice failed you.
He walked towards you while the others all sat quietly watching James slowly lose his mind over your leaving.
"It's just a joke right? Because you would never do that to me-- I mean us, you would never to us", his eyes were leaking now as he tried to slide his hands onto your cheeks but you flinched away and simply shook him off, not stopping as he suddenly started yelling behind you as you walked away from them, away from the only home you knew.
" y/n, please! You can't leave us! We still need you! Alright fine, you win okay? I need you! I need you here with me because... Because I love you alright?!"
You couldn't look back now because you knew if you did that you wouldn't be able to control yourself from running toward him, and then you would never leave.
Peter:
Peter was a horrible actor but luckily for him, nobody paid too much mind to him when you suddenly declared you were a death eater to your dorm.
You were swarmed with questions and threats as you picked up the last of your things and made your way out of the castle to Dumbledore's floo powder system so you could go home.
As you dragged your luggage behind you a sudden voice helped you from the other side to carry the heavy box.
"Here let me help"
You turned to see Peter who was now helping you carry your things while staring at the ground. It felt awkward with it just being you two but when you finally made it to the gargoyle statue you turned to Peter.
He was wringing his hands in one another as he anxiously stared down both sides of the corridor but it was empty.
"I will see you later, send my salutations to the dark lord"
He spoke quickly, clearly afraid to be caught. You knew by just hearing him speak that he was not in the cause the same way you were but it didn't matter now. You were dealing with heavy emotional discourse and the last thing you gave a fig about right now was how loyal Peter was to Voldemort.
"I will. Thank you, Peter, the dark lord will be happy with your work"
He grinned happily before reaching over with his hand but you quickly enveloped him in a hug for the last time in a long time.
"Look after them worm tail?"
"I uh promise"
You then pulled back and nodded at each other before he set off down the corridor. Leaving you alone.
Lilly:
It wasn't exactly how you had wanted it to come out that you were a death eater but being a spy meant you had to be useful at adapting.
Remus was glaring at you with his wand aimed at your head, your hands raised as you looked around the room, everyone was shocked about the news Remus had just delivered about you being the spy.
Lilly was sitting next to you but quickly jumped up like she had seen a mouse with her eyes full of tears and betrayal.
"Lilly I... I had to-- you don't understand"
"Stop talking"
She clasped her hand over her mouth as she held onto the wall for stability.
"I trusted you y/n, I stood up in front of Dumbledore and defended you!"
You reached out to her but she drew her wand shocking even you as she leapt forward, dragging your face up by the collar, piecing your neck with how deeply she jammed the wand into your neck, choking you.
She stayed like that for a few seconds, heavily breathing on your face before she enveloped you in a big hug which you held onto for as long as she let you.
When she was finally ready to stand up and let go she stood next to Remus and turned to stare at the floor by your feet instead of you.
"Leave and never return"
She sobbed onto Remus's shoulder who held her tightly shushing her while you quickly stood up and pushed past your old friends until you were standing at the door. You looked back at them before signing.
"I haven't told him anything, your plans are safe"
And with that, you left. Holding onto yourself so tightly it hurt as you sobbed onto the cobblestone streets, leaving Sirius's family home and onto the streets of England while all you could think about was Lilly.
Remus:
You were faced off with a group of death eaters surrounding you in a circle with  Remus on your back in the park, he was shaking slightly as he turned to you with a sly grin on his face.
"Give them Hell, right y/n?"
But you couldn't even look him in the eye as you slowly slipped your wand into your pocket and went to stand beside Bellatrix who was beckoning you over with her wand while giggling at the face Remus was making.
He was well and truly outnumbered now but the betrayal he felt was all he could think about. You were his partner in everything, you two had spent countless hours together being closer than anyone he had ever been with somebody in life.
"Well I have to admit, you are good for your job," Remus remarked with salt as he suddenly became aware that the death eaters were moving in.
"Remus, join me!" You held out your hand to him, waving your other in front of Bellatrix who forced her comrades to stop.
Remus turned around slowly, watching every death eater as closely as he could before he got to you.
"Y/n you know I would rather die", he spat, aiming his wand at you.
"Remus please, I don't think I can stomach watching you die"
You whispered to him, hoping nobody heard as you held out your hand once more.
He swallowed before glancing at Bellatrix.
"Consider it your punishment for betraying our friends then"
Bellatrix laughed before moving forward and shoving you back, it was clear you wouldn't be of any help to kill Remus so she left you behind them.
You mouthed the word please at least a dozen times as you watched Remus slowly turn with his wand trying to face every threat but it was impossible odds.
You gave a shuddering sigh before you drew your wand and sent a shock wave at the group forcing the lot of them to the ground but you quickly stumbled into the pile and grabbed Remus's hand pulling him up and shoving him in the direction of the port key with tears running down your face as you screamed at him to run.
He was so conflicted now as he shook his head free of the shock wave you sent out while also trying to at least memorise your face one last time.
"Y/n I love you," Remus said with his hands wrapped around your arms trying to force you to come with him.
"I can't come with you Remus, you need to leave"
"They'll kill you" he sobbed out, finally free of your body and turning to look around him. The death eaters were rising now, shaking off nausea and spacial confusion like he was.
You grinned sadly before picking up the dirty coffee cup off the grass which was the portkey you were supposed to use with Remus to head back to headquarters but you placed it in his hands alone, praying it would take him before the death eaters got any closer.
"Consider it my punishment for betraying our friends"
You sighed and took a step back as Remus reached out his free hand to grab you and take you with him but before he could convince you to come with him a spell quickly hit you in the back, draining the colour and soul from your eyes.
Remus reached forward to catch your falling body but the portkey activated and he was quickly whisked away from you without any time to confide any further with one another.
Severus:
You were standing by the great table at the Malfoy manner. You were a year out of school and had risen through the ranks as a trusted death eater now, what you weren't prepared for was when you were seated at this big meeting right next to Severus who was very early and staring at you with the same surprise you felt at seeing him here.
" I just can't seem to get away from you Severus"
You grinned as you sat down. It was only you two here as of yet and it certainly felt awkward sitting next to someone so closely at such an empty table.
You could feel him smirking next to you but you did not dare check to see if you were right.
"Good job" was all he managed to get out while you shook your head, grinning from ear to ear.
"If you told me 4 years ago that all it took to get a compliment from old Severus was joining the dark lord and his death eaters, I would have sighed up earlier!" You laughed.
"I take it that you're the spy against the mud wallowers then, l/n?"
"No need to be so formal Severus" you dodged him well as you turned to look at him.
"... It is... Convenient to see your familiar face here"
He whispered so quietly that you craned to hear him.
"I've missed you too Severus"
The meeting went past quickly with enough fear-mongering from Voldemort that you jumped at your shadow when you had finally made it to the gate, only to turn and see it was Severus once again.
"Ah, Severus, you scared me! Don't sneak up on me like that!"
Severus was sadly staring at you before he pulled you close, pushing his mouth next to your ear.
"He knows, he knows about everything, he knows you are a double agent and he knows your plan, he has ordered someone to kill you tomorrow, don't ever show your face here again or he will have you executed"
You had never heard him sound so rushed and unprepared in your life, that's what terrified you as you slowly slipped out of his grasp, looking around for anyone watching before you pushed against the gate, ready to apparate.
"Thank you.. It really was good to see you again Severus". You couldn't take in the sight of his dishevelled looks anymore and quickly ducked away, shedding yourself into the sky and travelling as quick as light back to headquarters to relay the message.
" You too y/n" Severus muttered before quickly pushing on the gates and making his getaway.
Regulus:
He had walked in at a terrible time, your forearms were baron from protection so when Regulus walked in unannounced he lay witness to the full-scale death eaters mark that was on your arm.
The silence that followed was heart-aching as you quickly covered the mark, turning around and trying to hide away from Regulus but he followed behind you simply lost for words as he grabbed you and spun you around so you would face him.
"No no no, not you too, y/n not you too!" He shook your shoulders furiously as he gazed into your eyes, trying to figure out what the hell you were thinking as you started sobbing.
The tears didn't stop as you felt snot and mucus fall down your face, you knew Regulus was the type to insult and pester so you tried to pull away and hide your ugly crying but he fell to his knees and held you around the thighs while pressing his face into your pouch, begging silently why you over and over again as he started crying himself, sobbing into your sweater.
"Regulus I had to, my parents forced me I couldn't stop it", you tried to tell him as you bent down slightly trying to get your face close to his by he dug into you deeper like an anchor as he muttered out through your polyester clothing-
"I can't lose you too"
You finally managed to coax him to his feet and wiped his red eyes with your hands before you held his face in your hands and quietly leaned forward to press your foreheads against one another.
"You are so fucking stupid" he sobbed out, little flicks of spit hitting your face but you didn't care.
"Regulus I didn't have a choice"
"I don't want you to be like them"
"I'm not Regulus, I can't be"
"Please don't leave me"
"Don't leave me, you moron"
"I couldn't even if I wanted to" he sighed reaching out with his own hands to stroke your face.
It was the first time you had ever seen him show true emotion and upset at you and it was so sad to feel like you were healing his inner child while he sobbed onto you that you had to promise not to leave him and become one of them.
"I'll keep you safe, I promise" he finally whispered at you before leaning away and placing a kiss on your forehead.
"You can't promise me that Regulus, just promise me if anything happens to me--"
"Please don't say that"
"Regulus. If something happens to me, promise you won't give up, promise me you will keep going"
He stared at you for a few seconds before shaking his head and sitting back on your bed.
"I can't promise you that"
"Regulus you have to please, I won't let you turn into the person everyone thinks you are just because of me"
"Don't you get it?" He stood up, arms stretched as he began yelling
"I am who I am because of you! I don't care what anyone else thinks but you! Merlin y/n I'd change anything on this Earth so you would like it! I can't be this good without you! You make me a good person y/n!"
You quickly rushed over to him and threw your arms around him, hugging him so close you could hear his heartbeat.
"That's not true, you are such a good person Regulus--" he scoffed at you but remained in your embrace.
"-- You have been a good person since I meet you, I know you try to see the threat in other people and you are distrustful but that doesn't make you a bad person! I would give up everything I am to be half as decent a person as you are Reggie, I love you because you are so much more than me".
The room went so quiet that a pin could be heard dropping. You didn't want to move so you didn't. You stayed like this, holding Regulus with every fibre of your being in love with him.
" I promise," he said before turning around and laying back on your bed with you snuggled next to him.
Sirius:
Sirius had followed you this time and Merlin a part of him wished he hadn't.
You were a death eater, following Voldemort around and bowing to his every need, Calling him lord and sir, it was pathetic.
The meetup with your true boss was over and Sirius followed you with anger defiling every thought in his head as he finally chased after you and grabbed onto you, apparating to an alleyway.
You turned with a shocked expression that paled when you saw Sirius.
"How long?"
You saw his wand in his hand as he paced back and forth in front of you. Running his hands through his hair as he interrogated you.
"How long?" He asked again, this time with a yell so loud you shrunk back into the brick wall you were leaning against.
"A few months," you said quietly, hands up and by your face now in surrender.
"Oh come on don't act shy now, you were all over you know who's ass a few minutes ago, what's the problem? Didn't think your friends who are fighting on the other side of this damn war would approve?"
Sirius was in your face now, spit flying on the face as he yelled out so loudly you felt the vibrations in your feet.
"Sirius, I don't want to die" you cried as you watched him sharply turn away from your face.
"Everyone is dying now, it's only a matter of time before we get crushed and he takes over, I need to be of use so that when the time comes I can help with a new resistance", you tried to reason with him but it seemed to make him even angrier.
"Everyone is dying because of damn traitors giving up our safe houses y/n! You're a coward who can't stand by us in our time of need when we've all stood by you time and time again y/n! "
"Sirius I am doing this for all of us, I can save a few people on the inside "
"If that were true you would have told us, you are only doing it to save your own skin"
You shook violently whilst you nodded after a minute.
"Yeah maybe I am, but I have to try, nobody else is coming to save us Sirius and I have to try... For us!"
Sirius scoffed before he finally turned around and walked away, leaving you behind to call after him but he didn't turn around. He never wanted to see your face ever again.
sirius black being the cockiest mf ever trying to impress his crush and she is not impressed in the slightest to the point he starts getting really shy around her because he no longer knows how to act if his usual bravado doesn't work
but turns out just being his dorky, vulnerable, and still (softer) flirty self works like a charm!!
Sirius would totally the most cocky and immature tactics to get you to go out with him. it would be romantic for sure. im picturing the dance number that heath ledger sings in “10 things i hate about you.”
I hope you enjoy!
summery: after Sirius gives up on his boastful ways of flirting, you turn the other cheek and notice the popular marauder is sweet and dorky on the inside.
warnings: not proof read. one inappropriate joke, but that’s all 🫶🏻
pairing: sirius black x reader
Tumblr media
Sirius Black was a charmer. That was for certain. Rumors spread like the plague of his roughish ways. You were not a fan of him, which was unfortunate for you because he was a fan of you. Constantly. Every chance he would get, he would flirt you up in the hallway.
“Hey y/n, what are you doing later?” He would ask you. You replied with, “McGonagall’s transfiguration essay.”
Sirius just smirked and returned with his cocky banter, “That’s a shame, I wish you’d do me instead.” He grinned, James and Peter behind him laughing.
It wasn’t genuine, or at least that’s how you felt. You rolled your eyes and replied with, “You wish, Black. In your dreams.”
You walked away with out seeing or hearing Sirius’ response. It frustrated you to no end that he would joke that way. You wanted to save him the trouble. He was obnoxious and too cocky for your own liking.
You missed when he was sweet and genuine. Not the popular boy that has become a staple at Hogwarts.
Sirius on the other hand, genuinely did want you. But no other tactic had gotten him a date. The rumors were misconstrued and he put on a cocky front. But in reality he was just as shy and dorky as he used to be.
One night after a hogsmeade trip, you were reading in the Gryffindor common room. It was a nice quiet night by the fire place. But all of a sudden, Sirius showed up, sat in an arm chair near you and started playing with wizarding cards.
“Could you keep that down?” You asked him, looking up from your book.
You expected a witty and cocky calculated response, but instead Sirius looked flushed. He ran a hand through this shiny hair and nodded, a little shy.
He gave up on impressing you and being so boastful. What did he have to lose? “Yeah sure, sorry.” He replied.
Sirius’ response continued to surprise you. Where were his annoyingly witty comments and jokes? Why wasn’t he flirting?
“Are you okay?” You asked, now a little confused.
“Yeah I’m fine,” he replied, lookin over at you. In his mind you looked so beautiful sitting by the fire. “Urm—actually I wanted to apologize. For making you so upset. I just think you’re really pretty an all. But I’m taking the hint and I’ll stop.”
He sounded so sweet about it and vulnerable. This was the Sirius you liked. The genuine one.
You smiled softly, “Thank you for the apology Sirius. I appreciate it. But you really think I’m pretty?” You asked.
He nodded, continuing to be sincere in his response. “Yeah, could never take my eyes off you love?” He said. It was straightforward and flirty but absolutely adorable and dorky.
You blushed. Why couldn’t be t he like this all the time?
“I like you like this.” You said, with a small smile. Sirius flushed.
“Y-you-u do?” He asked, a little surprised. This was the first time you’d shown him affection.
“Yeah. I mean when you aren’t being so boastful and cocky around me. I like the genuine you, Sirius.” You said.
With that, he sat up and walked over to the couch. He sat next you and both were facing each other.
“Sooo, I guess what you’re saying is???” He teased. You lightly pushed him and laughed.
“I’m saying if you tried to ask me out in a less boastful way. I would say yes.” You explained, blushing.
Sirius felt like he’d won the jackpot. “Really?! Uh I mean oh that’s cool.” He said, earning another giggle out of you.
“Y/n, will you go out with me?” He asked, sincerely.
You nodded, “Yes Sirius, I will.”
Champagne Problems (iii)
Summary: Y/N Y/L/N has everything: a wealthy family, a famous last name, and the most eligible bachelor in the wizarding community as her soon to be husband. What happens when she’s reunited with a forbidden friend from the past?
The next day, the teens collected their lunches and met up in the forbidden forest. “Alright mates, I recon we eat our lunches and take a look around here before we head to bowtruckle island,” James announced as he stopped in the forest. “Bowtruckle island?” Y/N asked. “Yeah, the library has some of Newt Scamander’s published notes and he mentioned an island on the black lake where branches of bowtruckles live,” James explained. “Wow, you really did your research,” Y/N was nearly floored at the effort he put in to do this for her when they barely knew each other. “Well of course, we want to do this right, don’t we?” he shrugged casually and Y/N dropped it, a sense of belonging beginning to fill her mind.
The group ate their lunches and looked around the forest for a little bit but came up with no bowtruckles, but finding plenty of woodlice to collect and bring to the island, so they decided to head to the lake and summon a row boat. The four boys rowed as Lily and Y/N went over the plan. “So we find one that is less shy than the others but also not agressive, and we bribe them with the woodlice. We build a bond with them by coming back over and over again and then hopefully about halfway through the school year we can bring them back to the castle and start training,” Y/N pondered aloud. “How often do you recon you want to come back?” James asked and he continued to row.  “What about every two days?” Y/N asked, worried that might be more often than the rest of them would want to meet up. “We can do every two days, maybe once the bowtruckle starts to trust us more, we can come every day just to strengthen the bond even more before we bring them inside,” Remus suggested. Y/N beamed, “That sounds perfect.”
When the teens arrived to the island they found that there were indeed, branches upon branches of bowtruckles living in the trees. “These trees must be growing wand wood,” Y/N murmured. “Bowtruckles live in wand wood trees to protect them,” she explained. “So we ought ta be careful about pissing them off?” Remus asked. “Not necessarily, they’re very calm creatures. They only attack if they feel their tree is being threatened. Most of them will cower away to watch us from afar but we need to find one that is curious enough to want to check us out and stay visible,” Y/N explained. The group split up into pairs to gently search the island for the perfect bowtruckle. James and Lily, Remus and Peter, and Sirius and Y/N each went their own direction with a pouch full of woodlice.
Each pair searched and searched, but the bowtruckles kept scurrying away to hide. Until Y/N and Sirius stopped to rest and leaned up against a tree that seemed slightly larger than the rest on the island. “You’ve been quiet, are you starting to give up?” Sirius asked quietly. “No, Y/N sighed, “I’m getting a little discouraged but I don’t want to give up. I really want to go through with this and complete Operation Bowtruckle with you guys,” She told him honestly. “Plus, just because we haven’t found anything doesn’t mean no one else has,” She shrugged with hope in her voice. “Y/N/N, I think we’ve hit a stroke of luck, look,” Sirius whispered, pointing to a tree branch slightly overhead where a single Bowtruckle was peeking its head out from the other side.
“Oh, hi there!” Y/N whispered with a grin. She opened her pouch and set five woodlice on the tree branch in front of the bowtruckle as it cowered away until her hand was a safe enough distance from the tree. The bowtruckle returned, fully revealing itself this time and happily munched down the woodlice and looked and Y/N as if expecting more. “Hi there sweet girl,” Y/N murmured. “You want some more?” she asked, reaching into the pouch to pull out more woodlice. The bowtruckle backed away, but did not completely hide itself as Y/N set down the second round of food. “How do you know she’s female?” SIrius asked quietly. “She’s only got two legs. Males have three,” Y/N answered simply, and Sirius couldn’t help but grin and the fact that she just happened to know that off the top of her head.
Sirius and Y/N continued to feed the Bowtruckle until Y/N could get her to climb into her hand to eat the woodlice. “Alright, it’s been a good hour or so, I think we should go find the rest of the group and come back in a few days?” Y/N suggested. “Yeah, that sounds like a good plan. Have you decided what to call her yet?” Sirius asked curiously. “Millicent, I think. Millie for short. How does that sound?” Y/N asked offering the Bowtruckle one more wood louse. Millicent climbed into Y/N hand to eat the last crustacean and seemed to smile contentedly. “I think she likes it,” Sirius’s grinned. Y/N waited for Millicent to return to her tree, said goodbye, and she and Sirius made their way back to the meeting point.
“Y/N we couldn’t find a single bowtruckle that would work,” Peter announced defeatedly as he and Remus returned to the meeting point. “We found a couple curious ones but they wouldn’t let us get close to them,” Lily announced and she and James appeared. “Fear not, Y/N charmed the pants off of one and had her climbing in her hand,” Sirius beamed. “I made note of the tree she lived in so we’ll come back in a couple days and continue our work. Thank you guys so much for coming and helping me with this,” Y/N grinned as she looked at the teens around her. “You’re one of us now, anything you need, we’ve got you,” James slung his arm around Y/N and lead her and the rest of the group back to the boat.
-
By the time the group returned to the school, it was nearly dinner time and everyone went back to their dorms to freshen up. Once in the great hall, Y/N sat at the end of her table by herself and caught Sirius’s eye from his table across the room and he shot her a wink before going back to his conversation with Remus. She pondered her new friendship with him, or rather, this new chapter in her long-standing friendship with him. Things were just as easy as when they were children, but even easier almost? She felt like she could truly be herself with Sirius, find herself with Sirius. She wondered why it was so easy to breathe around him and why all of his friends were so willing to invite her in and accept her as one of their own. Y/N was taken out of her thoughts as Cynthia, Dawn, and Ellie plopped down around her to eat dinner. “Where were you today?” Dawn asked curiously as she started grabbing food and putting it on her plate. “Oh i just went out to the Forbidden Forest to feed the animals,” Y/N fibbed. She didn’t like lying, but she wanted Operation Bowtruckle to be her secret with Sirius and his friends. “The Forbidden Forest? It’s filthy out there!” Ellie cried, pausing in her own attempt to grab food. “Oh please, it’s not so bad. Plus I like the animals,” Y/N shrugged and began getting food for herself as well. “Well I hope you plan on showering before bringing forest filth in our dorm,” Ellie scrunched up her nose and continued filling her plate. Y/N remembered that she had a role to play with these girls, so she sat up straighter and put on her best smile,” Of course.”
Y/N took her time in the showers, slowly doing her skincare routine and dawdling back to her room. She ran into Remus in the hallway outside her corridor. “I hate to have to say this but it’s almost curfew” he spoke up. “Oh, of course,” Y/N nodded and curtly as she could and sped up toward her common room. “You did a good job today with the Bowtruckle,” he called after her after checking to make sure no one else was around. “Thanks,” Y/N grinned. “We had a lot of fun out there,” Remus told her. “Yeah, I did, too. I’m looking forward to going back again,” she admitted. “This plan is going to work,” Remus assured her. Y/N offered a smile in return and then continued to her common room door and paused before giving the password. “Hey Remus?” she called softly. “Hmm?” He turned back with his eyebrows raised. “Thanks for letting me crash you group,” Y/N said sincerely. Remus grinned in response, “Thanks for crashing.” And with that, they each turned back to their respective directions and continued on with their evenings.
Weeks went by and the teenagers stuck to their plan of visiting Millicent every two days, up until the night the boys backed out and left Y/N and Lily to go alone. “Have I done something? Are they getting bored of my stupid little mission?” Y/N asked aloud, thinking she was alone. Lily, who was approaching while Y/N was pondering aloud answered, “No, love. It’s not you at all, they’re doing a project on the shrieking shack for history of magic tonight.” “We didn’t have an assignment on the shrieking shack, I have that class with Sirius,” Y/N furrowed her brows. “Oh, it’s an extra credit thing. Remus is very interested in the ghosts that live there,” Lily elaborated. “Hmm,” Y/N hummed as she hopped in the row boat, Lily following close behind. “They’ll be back in a couple of days,” Lily assured her.
“A couple of days?!” Y/N asked incredulously. “It’s a um, it’s an immersion thing Remus wanted to do. I dunno, he was just very excited about the haunted past of the place,” Lily shrugged as she rowed. Something smelled fishy to Y/N but she decided to let it go. Lily had been friends with the guys for years- she wouldn’t tell Y/N whatever is really going on if the boys wanted it to be secret. Y/N hummed again and continued to row silently with Lily for a few minutes. To herself, she wondered if the boys really had grown tired of her and if Lily was just here because she felt bad. But then she wondered what they could possibly be doing that would take them out of school for multiple days? Y/N made a note to track down all of the boys separately as soon as they got back to school and see if their answers matched up.
After a successful couple of hours with Millicent, Y/N and Lily rowed back to the school grounds and hid the rowboat before heading their separate ways. “Hey, Y/N!” Lily called from a few feet away. Y/N turned to her. “I promise, they guys are really sorry they missed Operation Bowtruckle tonight. They wanted to be here but they had to do the project now. They’ll tell you all about it when they get back,” Lily smiled. Y/N wanted to believe her so she smiled back. “Goodnight, Lily,” she said. Lily called out a “goodnight!” back and the girls continued to their separate common rooms. Why does it have to be tonight? Y/N wondered. It’s the fifth Friday of the month… It’s a full moon… There are no clouds in the sky… Y/N thought hard about what could possibly be the reason they had to be gone these specific set of days all the way back to her dorm. When she fell asleep, she dreamt of Sirius.
He was in trouble. It was dark, his breathing was labored. Beams of light from the full moon scattered around the dark place he was in. Something howled, and it was very close. Sirius took a deep breath, and then the footsteps could be heard. Getting closer and closer, the beast was snarling. Y/N couldn’t see it but she just knew it was going to get him at any second. She heard its jaws open and felt its body lunging toward Sirius and all of a sudden- a loud “Mroooow,” from Desdemona woke her up.
Y/N sighed deeply, “Good morning pretty girl,” she whispered. Desdemona meowed again. “I suppose you want breakfast?” Y/N asked, stretching and standing up to feed the cat. Y/N observed the room to find all three of her roommates already gone. She checked her watch to find that she had slept until nearly 11 o’clock. As she fed Desdemona and slowly got ready for her day, she couldn’t stop thinking about her dream. About how real it felt, how much danger Sirius was in. She needed to see him. She was going to go into Hogsmeade and go to the shrieking shack to find Sirius and make sure he was okay.
Y/N made her way to the train with a purpose and hurried into Hogsmeade the moment the train stopped. Before she even made it halfway through town, she saw Sirius inside of Honeydukes and rushed inside to him. “Sirius!” She exclaimed, gently grabbing him by the face and inspecting him for injuries, only to find him healthy and handsome as ever. “Uh, hi there, love,” he chuckled, placing his hands over hers and bringing himself to look into Y/N’s eyes. “Something I can help you with, darling?” He asked with a smile. “I just…” Y/N searched and searched for what to say that wouldn’t make her sound crazy. She sighed. “Where have you been?” She asked shyly. “We’re working on a project for history of magic at the shrieking shack for a few days,” he told her, giving her hands a squeeze.
At this, Y/N realized she was making a scene in the window of the shop and she released Sirius’s face from her hands. “How many days?” She raised an eyebrow. “However many it takes to get enough information for our report, I reckon,” Sirius shrugged. “I thought you said it was a project?” she questioned, stepping slightly closer to him. “There’s a report to go with the project,” he replied cooly. Y/N took a step back and examined him one more time, verifying that he seemed to be fine. “Alright. How’s the project going? What’s it about? Why are you at Honeydukes?” she asked, beginning to look around the store for herself.
“It’s going alright, the ghosts can be quite unfriendly at times, and it’s about the past of the shack so we’re spending time with the spirits and learning what they have to say. And I’m at Honeydukes because Remus wanted more chocolate,” Sirius bumped his shoulder against Y/N’s as he held a can of sherbet lemons out to her. She took them, along with a chocolate frog and then let Sirius lead the way. “Well that sounds very interesting, actually. I’d love to read it when you’re done,” Y/N told him. This wasn’t to catch him in a lie- she had no reason not to believe him, and she would love to hear the stories of the ghosts. “Uh, yeah, sure. I’ll give it to you have Professor Binns grades it,” he nodded as he picked out the chocolate Remus requested. The two checked out and Y/N started to follow Sirius out of the store.
“Can I come with you to help over the weekend?” Y/N offered. “Oh! Um, no I think it’s just supposed to be me and the guys on this one but thank you!” Sirius took her hand in his and gave it a gentle squeeze. “Really, thank you,” he said softly. Y/N smiled and squeezed his hand back before letting it go. “I guess I’ll see you when you get back, then,” She said, a hint of disappointment in her voice. “The moment we’re finished I’ll come straight to you. I’ll sneak into your dorm if i have to- just tell me the password to your common room-“ Sirius rambled. “That won’t be necessary,” Y/N laughed, “But I would like to see you again as soon as you get a chance that’s not in the middle of the night.” “Of course. I’ll see you soon. Have a good weekend,” Sirius gave her a beautiful and genuine smile. “You, too,” Y/N told him as they parted ways.
