"Why bother trying, it won't fix anything"
Sure, but it can make things a little better, even if only for a split second, and it is worth it. Even if it doesn't cure the illness, it gives it some relief; even if it doesn't solve the problem, it becomes less to deal with. It may not take away all of your burdens, but it can make it easier to carry them. And in the end, trying is worth it because you are worth it, the world is worth it, and none of us are lost causes.

Hello everyone! I made an Awareness flag for Dependent Personality Disorder! It's made in Animal Crossing New Horizons! Right now it isn't posted because I don't have internet, but I thought I'd share it!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The colors on the flag part represent these aspects:
Red: Deep feelings of love or care for others, many people with DPD are extremely caring and loving to the detriment of themselves. Can also be represented as a need to be with others whether it's friends, family, or significant other(s). A need for connection as well.
Maroon/Dark Reddish Pink: Idealization of love, infatuation, or dependence on needing to give/receive love, this can be platonic or romantic! Even if you don't feel a desire for love, platonic or romantic, it can represent the dependence on others or wishing to give them things to feel loved!
White: People pleasing and/or a need to be to be worthy of love or as an expression of love/care/devotion. Needing to help others to feel good about themselves.
Baby Blue/Soft Blue: Emotional needs, sensitive to others and to criticism, being emotional. Being sensitive to many things or having certain triggers for their behaviour and trauma.
Purple: complexity in personality and trauma or a feeling of not quite fully knowing yourself. Can also be a feeling of loneliness or difficulty with being alone or a feeling of uneasiness being alone.
Pastel Pink/Light Pink: Awareness of the disorder and the needs of people with Dependent Personality Disorder. Awareness to education and destigmatization of the disorder and helpful resources to those with it. Basically a big "I see you, I value you, I love you and your struggles are real!" to everyone with it.
★Now let me make this clear!★
This flag is based around my friend that has DPD, made for them as well. If you have DPD and do not identify with this or feel this does not fit you, feel free to come up with your own or use another one that you feel may fit you better. Flags can be made by anyone, even if they're just personally used. This one was made with my best friend in mind and to help them feel seen as well as a call to awareness and education! So it may be more personal to them and may not fit everyone with DPD as you all are different! It is a spectrum and so if this flag and its meanings aren't for you, feel free to make your own or even bring new meanings to the colors I did use. The meanings I chose are the issues my friend struggles with the most which is why I chose them.
So much love to folks with DPD!!! You are seen and valid and deserve better access to information! I do plan to make more flags for disorders for awareness and to help people with the disorders feel seen :) I will try my best to represent the disorders accurately, but always feel free to make your own or educate me in case I may get something wrong.

I promise, if you're yourself from the beginning - the right ones will stay, the right ones will love you, value you and respect you. Be who you are, in every way, every day, and the right ones will stay.
It is better to be authentically loved by a few than to fool many.

Every time I've felt awful and like things would never be okay again, it was another human reaching back to me that helped me get through it.
The gnawing void will tell you that nobody cares.
Maybe you reach out and that one person doesn't reply how you'd hoped; humans are complex and flawed and you can't control how they will act or if they will understand.
Reach out again.
There is no feeling you're having, no fear or sadness, that only you have felt. The circumstance might be different, but somewhere in the world are people who would say "I know that feeling" - or at the very least "I understand what you're telling me" which can be enough.

lately we've been dealing with a lot of trauma. processing, I mean. it's been a rough process in general, for the entire time we've started to uncover our worst ones— but recently, something has changed. we're starting to not feel so ashamed of who we are anymore. we are realizing that how we cope and deal with the severe things we've been through is nobody's business but ours and who we choose to tell. being completely ourselves, no masking, no holding back for fear of being ridiculed— we obviously still have severe issues, but they don't seem so... insurmountable anymore.
this is all to say that trusting people is work. being yourself is work. it takes genuine time and effort and you might be uncomfortable for a bit... but that's okay. it's okay to be scared. you don't have to completely disregard your past to be able to shape your future.
when you're ready, and with those you love, it won't seem so impossible anymore.

Girls with bushy eyebrows I love you. Girls with overplucked eyebrows, I love you. Girls with eyebrow hair that goes down onto their eyelids, or across their monobrow, I love you. Girls with flaky eyebrows, I love you. Girls who do makeup to cover up their eyebrows, I love you. Girls who don't do makeup to cover up their eyebrows, I love you. Girls with trichotillomania who pull out their eyebrows, I love you. Girls with patchy eyebrows, I love you. Girls who shaved their eyebrows in a weird pattern, I love you. Girls who let them grow back, I love you. Girls who regret what they did to their eyebrows, I love you. Girls with derma who have scabbed eyebrows, I love you. Girls with acne in their eyebrows, I love you. Girls with skin conditions, or Girls without, Girls that have eyebrows or don't, too much or too little, eyebrows that fit with trends or don't, eyebrows that used to or do now. I don't care. I love you all. You don't have to be insecure about them. I. Love. You. ❤️

Hej ty, czy mnie słyszysz?
Gdy pociągniesz za spust to stracisz wszystko dziś
A masz przecież wszystko, czego wciąż ci brak?
Z tego, co przeżyłeś drwij
Zlej paliwem, niech się tli
I płomień rzuć, zapal knot
Złap mą dłoń, uciekaj stąd
I nie poznasz się dziś
Ogień zgasł, nie cofaj się

why do some people get attached to useless things so much? it's not worth it. If you wouldn't drop that person or subject in 5 seconds if ur life depended on it, then it wasn't that important. Some (most) people aren't worth it at all. You can have ur fun while it lasts but never get too attached. You're gonna get hurt either way, you decide how much.
