"Can you count the stars for me?"
(Shit quality <3)
"Rileyyy~"
Eddie walked into the ginger girls room hesitantly, only to see her with her knees folded under her weirdly, with blood gushing from a stab in her stomach, with the knife still there. "H-HEY! W-what're you doing!?", Eddie rushed over to her and sat next to her.
"Hahaha...I can't do it anymore, Eddie!"
"D-do what?" the boys voice shook with worry, obviously it wasn't the first time Riley had tried to do something like that, but every time there was someone there to stop her, and this time there wasn't.
"L-live with who I am...I deserved to die a long time ago..."
"No you didn't, you're still alive because God wanted you to be." Rachel stood solemnly in the doorway, she'd noticed odd behavior from the ginger girl but stayed out of it till now. Riley glanced at the blonde girl, she was normally annoyed by the "god" shit, but she didn't have enough energy to care now.
"God has nothing to do with it Ray..."
Rachel's dead, blue gaze, that usually lacked any sort of depictable emotions, seemed slightly worried, she knew the ginger girl would eventually bleed out, especially since she didn't like going to Danny's floor, unless absolutely necessary, and even though it was necessary, both Eddie and Rachel knew what Riley's intentions were. She was trying to kill herself, and from the looks of it, she'd succeed.
Rachel silently walked over and sat on the other side of Riley.
"Suicide is a sin, you know..."
"Tch, t-that's the only reason you haven't committed yet...your stupid fixation with god..."
Despite literally bleeding out, Riley still had her wits.
"S-stop moving around so much! You'll bleed more..."
Riley's green gaze met Eddie's, "That's the point, love."
"E-eh!? Love!? Ahh, that's not the point! We need to get you to stop bleeding..."
"She's already lost too much blood, Eddie."
Eddie sighed, knowing the blue eyed girl was right,
Eddie sighed, knowing the blue eyed girl was right, though he didn't want to admit it.
"Danny could-" "No."
The ginger girl's response shocked both Eddie and Rachel, sure they knew she didn't like him, but he was the only one who could help.
"R-Riley! Y-" "I didn't plan on failing again...I know Eddie..., I know what's gonna happen..." Riley started to sound like she was struggling to talk
Eddie's green eyes started to tear up "W-we were gonna get out together!"
"I know, Eddie...b-but I h-have nowhere to go anyway..."
"Y-YOU COULD'VE COME WITH ME AND-" Eddie's voice got louder as he grew more worried.
"Lower your voice, Eddie." Eddie glanced at the blonde girl "S-sorry...!" Both of them noticed Riley's gaze was fixed on the ceiling.
"What's so interesting about the ceiling, Riley?" Eddie glanced at the ceiling too, but there was nothing there
"Hey, Eddie...." Eddie glanced back at the bleeding ginger. "Y-yeah?"
"You'll make a pretty grave for... me, right...?
Eddie nodded "Of course I will!"
"Will...-Can you count the stars for me...?" Rachel tilted her head "What stars?" Eddie shot a glare at the blonde, and then moved closer to Riley, not caring that the blood pooled around her began to seep into his overalls, he grabbed her hand and squeezed it. Riley squeezed his hand back, but just barely. "Yeah, sure."
The two gingers sat close together, Rachel, though still monotone, moved closer to the ginger girl as well, and awkwardly hugged her, noticing how shallow and labored Riley's breathing sounded, as well as noticing that she was wheezing ever so slightly every time she breathed.
"Hahaha....I-it kinda sucks that this is the first...a-and last time w-we'll stargaze together..." Rachel, though still confused as to what the ginger girl was talking about, nodded quietly.
Eddie whispered something to Riley, causing the girl to giggle softly.
"H-hey Eddie..I love you..." her voice was hoarse, and barely a whisper Eddie's eyes grew wide, as his face grew red, but then he started tearing up again. Tears started rolling down his face.
"D-don't cry...I'll be yours a-anyway..." Rachel moved away a bit, as Eddie wrapped his arms around Riley's small waist, trembling, after setting the knife on the floor. "Y-yeah...but it won't be the same!"
Riley didn't move or say anything, her breathing became more labored by the second
"Eddie, she's-" "N-no she's not! N-not yet..." Riley's chest rose and fell a couple more times before stopping. Completely, and she fell limp.
Eddie brushed her hair out of her face, quickly kissed her forehead, and looked into her clouded, mismatched, green eyes, as if looking for any sign that she was still alive, but she wasn't.
Rachel looked at Eddie sympathetically, "I'm sorry I couldn't help you, Riley." she whispered, and then quietly got up and left.
Eddie sat there for a bit, tears running down his cheeks. "I-I'm sorry..."
