Your current fandom(s): Anybody checking my reblog spam knows that I am neck fucking deep in the Sonic fandom right now. Which I must say, is not the lowest I've ever been- one of my prior fandoms was League of Legends, somehow.

How did you first get into fandom?: Deviantart.com baby!! A really pretty girl in 6th grade introduced me to the website, and one day I finally worked up the courage to enter my favorite show at the time (Transformers Prime) into the search bar. I discovered that I was not the only girl in the world who experience the Blorbo Emotions and that blew my mind.

How long have you been engaging in fandom spaces?: Since 6th grade, as mentioned before. However, honorary mention- my mom is actually a part of the fandom old guard. She's been reading fanfic since before I was born. Strange thought, isn't it?

How often do you read fanfics?: About every week, I say. I usually find new stuff here on tumblr, and I troll the depths of AO3 every week and a half or so. (I usually just tend to tear through every fic that's been tagged with my favorite niche character and then get sad about it.)

Top three characters from your current fandom(s):

Anybody who's even glanced at my reblog spam knows that it's all going to be Sonic characters. More specifically, my beloved Metal Sonic, is #1. Obsessed with this funky identity crisis dude. He's the one I'm writing a literal novel for right now, because you can fit so much goddamn angst, mental illness, and daddy issues into this one robot it's not even remotely funny.

In close second is Omega. This is another robot built by the same guy in universe as Metal, by the way, so he's got a similar yet different flavor of angst going on. Omega was hit with the typical "you are what you choose to be" arc that most fictional robots undergo, except his choice was "I WANT TO COMMIT MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF VIOLENCE. AND ALSO MAYBE MAKE FRIENDS BUT DON'T TELL ANYBODY THAT" and that fascinates me deeply.

Number 3 is, uh, idk? Kind of a toss-up. Probably a tie between Shadow (who's the traditional pick for a hurt/comfort character in this fandom) or Silver (optimistic time traveler dude who is just. so tragic sometimes.)

BOY HAVE I EVER-

The longest fanwork I've written so far is sitting pretty at around 44,000 words (it's an incredibly niche crossover between Babylon 5 and Knight Rider). My current WIP (the aforementioned one starring Metal Sonic), however, just broke 50k yesterday and I'm not even remotely close to finishing.

But yeah- I've been writing since 6th grade. Here's my very first ever fanfiction by the way, if you want an idea of how far I've come (or a good laugh.)

If you follow my Sonic sideblog, you'll see all of my headcanons projectile-blasted at you daily.

Additionally, most of my headcanons are pretty fluid. I LOVE enjoying multiple interpretations of the same character, even and especially if they're contradictory. There's only been, like, two that I've ever been super crazy about.

The one that I'm weirdest about right now is Metal Sonic being some flavor of trans. This is the character that, upon gaining the ability to redesign their body however they wanted in canon, gave themselves long hair, a skirt, and a big dragon alternate mode. If that doesn't scream "transgender" for you, I don't know what will.

And finally, what does fandom mean to you?:

Fandom is a place where I get to share the joy of creation with other people! My favorite thing in the universe to do is "yes, and" people and develop ideas together. My second favorite thing in the universe to do is to encourage creators to tell me more about their fuckin' awesome ideas. My third favorite thing in the universe is seeing people react to my own work. I'm just writing the stories that make me happy, man, so to see people enjoying it brings me so much joy.

   always knew there was some funky down in that hole a hole is never just a hole but! this post is gonna sorta be like....an info post and interest check in one? not going to do a starter call (yet bc knowing me i may make one later) but if you like this then i’ll probably slide into your dm’s bc this requires planning and i am an absolute fool for planning fun creatures and traps and chaos! most of this will be under read more just so it’s not a big scroll on the dash

    the way i want to approach this is like. okay a hole has layers like an onion and i want to throw olga into each one bc why the hell not.  anyways the progression would be JUNGLE -> FANTASY -> SEA -> SPACE. starting with the jungle first because she’s an adventure novel fan and it would be both fun and funny for her to critique the traps and get caught in them! and space is last because gestures to the alien and horror (my personal fave but i gotta work her up to that).

 below you’ll find just some ideas for each area, her abilities and how enemies will scale to that, role in typical dungeon format, and other things

jungle. i want the whacky shenanigans. the caught in traps. the ‘ who made this a five year old can figure this out’. the running from a boulder. the complaining about the heat and just having a jolly good time while probably being chased by a monster or two. like i’m talking i will draw inspo from tom//b raider and un//charted for this okay but with more comedy because i have SO many ideas for traps 

fantasy. honestly i just think she needs to blow up some creatures. do some fighting. get some catharsis in that way. she’s more used to ‘fantasy’ type things (a mage herself so magic). i probably won’t make a fantasia form for her to use just because i love the idea of a human (?) stuck in some fantastical mess. do you want to fight a dragon but to the tune of do you want to build a snowman

sea. considering olga lives by the ocean and swims alot and uses her cosmogills alot she’s somewhat used to underwater things but not as a mermaid. yes she will be a mermaid i am making my mermaid au come true here. i will probably draw this too but ANYWAYS. do you want to fight a kraken maybe some mutant sharks what about hiding in a sunken pirate ship from enemies

space. oh boy. oh boy. okay shoving everything u-chan aside (bc that’s certainly a Sore Spot for her) she’ll be the most tense here. because not only is it an abandoned space station where the slightest move can kill her, there’s also the alien creature who. i have Ideas for. and also olga doesn’t relish the idea of being hunted and having to hide against smth that has an advantage over her!! as a warning in advance, i love horror and have seen so many horror movies in space so i will do my best to make it scary as hell

now as for olga and her powers, she’d probably be classified as a DPS role (if you play xiv think of black mage). she does have some defensive and healing capabilities but best suits the damage dealing so she can be something of a jack of all trades! barriers strong enough to withstand attacks from Servants, runestones and being able to inscribe runes onto things, also a cool sword she can finally use, and her throwing meteors though that’s. as a last resort! she’s also pretty intelligent and really good in noticing another’s physical condition and getting them to rest before they realize it themselves. as someone who has read plenty of adventure novels, she’s also got a keen eye for noticing traps in the jungle so that’s a little bonus stat!

as stated above, this is mostly an interest check to plot things out because this does require that but also with a little bit of yolo because unless deciding otherwise, i will be using the wheel to randomize everything. including the chests. we will be winging it and praying gacha jesus i mean rng jesus helps us

i love subnautica but dude is it buggy as shit lmao although! its one of its charms since its funky most of the time ESPECIALLY when its not happening to you. like i had a peeper stuck in the corner of my lifepod just rotating?? and it would close its eyes when i would come close or a shine light on it and open them back up when i go away or close the light. or like when a poor spadefish or boneshark gets yeeted across the ocean for no reason. is it funny to look back on a warper coming out of the sea to you like some fucked up little mermaid or a chelicerate busting through a ventgarden to attack you? sure. but is it fucked up in the moment? nah i think at the end of the day doing whatever makes you the most comfortable and happy regarding the uploads is the most important! i just liked having multiple days of something nice to me ya know? not necessarily the fact that it was split. and i love them both!! the reason i call it texas touya fic is because one, when i started reading tomura was still more like on the sidelines and it kinda stuck two, it rolls of the tongue easier than texas tomura i guess? but i love them both T-T both as texans and in general! oh and dont worry ill probably bore you till you tell me to go away or something and and and! have a nice day!

I almost wish my game was as buggy as yours sounds. It sounds hilarious and game enriching. Mine doesn't like to glitch up but that probably because I played on PS4 and 5. Right after original launch of plain Subnautica, I got to the lava castle but the containment area wouldn't load so I had to start a new save. Hours down the drain.

OMG the backseat support gamer!!! I had one of those too for my second play through of oh Subnautica! Good on you to emotionally and psychologically hype your sister for the spookiness. I really liked below zero the first time I played it since I was just super hyped to have more Subnautica period but playing them again, you can definitely feel a substantial difference in atmosphere and replayability. Below zero just felt cramped and not as scary while Subnautica was open to terror from any direction. I totally understand your first experience being your favorite though. Whoa! You played it in the beta??? That's awesome! I'm but a lowly console peasant (until I get my PC fixed 😈) so I had to wait for console release.

OMFG DUDE. I was literally going to make him diamond II or even master BUT I didn't want a mega mind gamer in the comments to be like "erm, tomura wouldn't be diamond. Oh! And other games I play are pretty much anything 💀 I try to not get into competitive games like overwatch, Apex, or CSGO because I get EXTREMELY competitive and start screeching like a wounded animal. I used to play league religiously until my PC broke and my laptops can't run it (it can but it's like I'm either crashing or playing on PowerPoint) so I'm saving to get a new processor so I can play again! I mained ADC (jinx and Ashe, sometimes Tristana) or Annie on mid (LOL) BUT other than those, I prettyuch like anything. My fave games are Horizon Zero Dawn, Fable 2, Binding of Isaac, Assassin's Creed 2, and Minecraft! I play lots of survival games like ark, the forest, 7 days to die, and so on. I like simulation games Sims (obviously), house flipper, power wash simulator or even farming simulator 💀. You name a game, I've either played it or know about it.

Overall, that reading gave Jade energy and that of the subconscious. And with all of the spider imagery, I can see him tapping into a more creative side, but also trying to avoid the spotlight; I just thought that was interesting and wanted to add it.

This reading just came out while I was putting everything away, and that gives big Floyd vibes; you think you're done and then surprise! You get the other eel!

My headcanon for Brazilian wand magic in Harry Potter

So this is  my headcanon about Brazilian wand magic. Since the creatures aren’t well-known outside Brazil, I have the info on the wand core then a blurb about the real-life folklore behind it. 

I’m still developing my headcanon for the wood part of the wands; I’ll post about it once it’s finished.

Unlike European wand cores, which can cause harm to the “donor” (such as in the case of dragons, for example), Brazilian wand cores are either bartered for or freely given. The only exceptions are in the case of the Mula and Cuca, although care is made that the extraction not permanently injure or debilitate the “donor”. Though heartstrings could also be used, their use is traditionally (and more recently, legally) forbidden. 

We know from some wands crafted by early European arrivals that heartstrings of Brazilian magical creatures make exceedingly powerful wands, however the practice was considered taboo by Indigenous Brazilian magical beings (sorcerers included), as it is considered wasteful and needless when less harmful methods satisfy the wandmaker’s needs. As such, uses of heartstrings were not tolerated and severely dealt with, leading European-Brazilians to cease such practices fairly early on.

Due to the less hostile nature of how wand cores are collected in Brazil, Brazilian wandmakers enjoy a much wider array of wand core options. It has been theorized that Brazil’s propensity for strong wands may be linked to the wand cores being freely given.

It is also worth noting that Brazilian magic performed by Indigenous sorcerers uses a form of wandless magic which may or may not use objects infused with what Europeans would recognize as wand cores and wood to help focus and channel the magic. 

Wand Cores

NOTE: All of the following creatures are extremely intelligent and/or dangerous and can be deadly if not approached properly. 

Iaras, Sacis, Curupiras and Caiporas are ranked as dangerous in that they deserve respect, not that they are overly violent per se, and are only classified as beasts at their own request (much like centaurs and sirens in Europe, though Curupiras participate much more actively in human governmental institutions by comparison).

Iara hair strand or scale - Powerful, particularly good at charms, not half bad at offensive spells either. Slightly temperamental. Not overly loyal but not prone to accepting a new owner either.

About Iaras: Overall very similar to European sirens and mermaids, especially since the influence of European culture to the myth. They have green hair and live in rivers rather than the ocean, and sit on rocks singing and brushing their hair to lure men to the depths of the river. 

Saci Pererê hair strand - Temperamental and unpredictable. Extremely good at transfiguration and spells having to do with deceit or travel (apparition, concealment of things, etc). May work well for those other than its owner, but it’s a bit of a Russian roulette gamble, as the consequences of a claimed wand with a Saci hair core rejecting a new user can be severe and… unfortunate.

About Sacis - Trickster figures and universally recognized by Brazilians as the icon of Brazilian folklore and culture. They look like a young one-legged black boy who wears a red cap. Extremely powerful, they’re generally benevolent in the sense that they don’t intentionally seek out to hurt people, but as their chief concern is amusing themselves, they can often pull tricks that are harmful without intending harm (e.g. making the milk go sour, thus causing someone to go hungry). They travel by way of dust clouds  and mini dust tornados. Kind of vaguely similar to a mix of a genie and a selkie,as you can capture them, take away their cap, and they’ll have to do your bidding.

Curupira tooth - Extremely good for protective spells (both defensive and offensive), very loyal to its owner. Least likely to accept the use of dark magic. Second rarest wand core.

About Curupiras: The Brazilian icon for environmentalism, they look like a boy with his feet on backwards and hair made of fire (I’m pretty sure that it was originally intended to be a metaphor for “he’s a ginger”, because gingers are so rare in Brazil I legit thought the Wealeys’ hair colour was like an anime-style thing where they have funky hair ‘cause they’re magic). 

They are harmless and neutral when you need to take from the forest for survival, but utterly terrifying forces to be dealt with when you take beyond your fair share. They’re basically like immensely powerful forest spirits that protect the balance of nature. You really really don’t wanna piss one off.

Caipora hair strand - Particularly good at hexes, jinxes and offensive spells at large. Not opposed to dark magic. Due to the temperamental nature of the core, its loyalty ranges from fairly flexible to fiercely loyal based on the individual wand (loyal wands also happen to be excellent at defensive spells as they are fiercely protective of their owner). While it is not entirely known why the wand loyalty can vary so wildly from wand to wand, recent studies suggest it may be due to a mix of the core-wood personality combination as well as the personality of the individual donor.

About Caiporas: Similar to the Curupira, they’re humanoid forest beings of extreme power. While Curupiras are neutral unless angered, Caiporas are often portrayed as more malevolent in nature. 

Cuca scale or hair strand - Particularly good at hexes, jinxes, and offensive spells at large. Most prone to accept dark magic use. 

About Cucas: The  Cuca is  basically the Brazilian boogie man. Usually portrayed as an alligator with hair on its head. Cucas are always female.

Mboiúna scale - The rarest and most powerful of wand cores. In this sense it is not unlike phoenix feathers used throughout Eurasia, although that’s where the similarities end. 

Mboiúna cores are rare mostly because few are willing (or able) to approach these gigantic water snakes to collect a scale or two (or rather, to approach them and survive), as well as because they are also prized ingredients for potions and certain kinds of Indigenous wandless magic. Full-grown male mboiúna are the size of a female basilisk, while females can easily grow to twice the size of males.

About Mboiúnas: Sort of the Amazonian equivalent of a sea serpent/monster, their name literally means “black snake”. They’re often blamed for capsizing boats and eating fishermen. Likely sprung from the fact that some Brazilian water snakes can (and do) capsize boats and attack people. In fact, a few years ago a corrupt politician was eaten by such a snake. Like, for realsies. There’s photos and everything.

OK here we go lads!! I finally figured out how to use my scrolls

first girl is actually my hatched banescale G1 from last year- I had no idea what to do with her, but the gene colors for aberrations are so, so good. decision made, she’ll be getting orb/ blend (...after I finish making all that damned phosphorous again, fuck. thought I was done with this shit after getting all my bogs done, but nooo.)

second boy was picked up just today after seeing how nice periwinkle fade is. he’s a G1 hatched on last years NOTN, and being a plagueling, seemed appropriate for the breed-change. already got him fade, and gave him an unusual eye vial for that lovely, deep red color. these two aren’t exactly going to have beautiful hatchlings lol, but I think they still look nice! together they have both sets of their genes covered too, so we’ll see what the rarity on inheritance is for both of them.

names for both are... tentative rn. I hope we can see an aberration mentioned in a lore story so I know how their naming conventions work. as for their characters- the female seems like a cunning, mischievous, & thoughtful sort. her heads are of a differing mind, often at debate with one another. the male, a bit more serious, prideful, & meticulous. his heads are of a like mind, more inclined to find a common solution.

seeing as he’s the plague native, perhaps for lore he sets out from the wasteland after the aberrations re-made contact with the outside world, to test his worth in the wider Sornieth. standard stuff. as for the female, who’s from the SOTC... perhaps she’s a second generation aberration, born from an adventurous, traveling pair at the edge of the sea/ wastelands (you know, in those funky flesh beaches/ cliff caves at the border).

as for how they both met... I’m thinking as the male made his way southeast from plague territory, eventually reaching the sea, and they have a run-in at the seashore (perhaps a beached carcass draws them together? ...that’s kind of a meet-cute, right?). they size each other up, neither wanting to lose such a bounty- it’s a proper stalemate. however, the female, who is unwilling to risk violence with an unknown contender, challenges him to an alternate duel- a race, from one end of the cove to the other. the winner (who has thus proven their god-given superiority, blessed be thy pestilent mutations, oh great plaguebringer, so-on and so-forth...) will get to feast, with no need for bloodshed.

the male- a reasonable but proud drake- sees a test of survival as fair as any other, and accepts. the distance from shore-to-shore is not too great, and in a straight flight, should be no challenge...but near the half-way point, his opponent (who has thus far been keeping pace underneath the waves) suddenly vanishes- only to reappear several dozen meters ahead- breaking the surface at speed and roaring gleefully! while the air above the cove was indeed a clear path, he had failed to calculate the swift flow of the currents, and his opponent’s own skill in her native element.

soon enough he reaches where she’s lounging on the opposite shore, shaking water free of her manes with an air of faint mockery. she had bested the challenge, in both body and wits- he has no choice but to acquiesce. (totally not huffily, thank you. hmpf.) however, as he prepares to take off, she debates with herself for a moment- then offers him a portion of the carcass- for the sake of a rewarding bout. this is indeed a strange bit of generosity to a plague dragon... but a plague dragon is also never one to deny free food. they return to the other shore, and warily share a meal together.

........ and then idk, kiss kiss fall in love? I’m thinking they become traveling companions, with him insisting to learn the ways of survival in the sea (he so totally can’t swim at first though. water ≠ plague goo.) she thinks he’s a fun rival to mess with, with him always acting all stern and careful-like. but they slowly learn to get along, debating the merits of different kinds of strength... the effects of being born outside of plaguebringer’s influence... what kind of fish taste best..... etc etc. eventually, the pair ends up at the clan at saltend harbor- they seem like the type to make a living in the underdocks, focusing less on ‘civilized’ work and just living day-to-day around the coast. I’ll have to work more on the goings-on there once I finally get my true water breed.

i think a reason why white people are so afraid of Diversity is that... they have this weird belief that if a character is a person of colour, every aspect of that character should revolve around race, which they find too intimidating. like no, you're probably not going to nail the internal politics of like, the indian-american community, or write a groundbreaking story about a black boy's dealings with police brutality. but! here's the thing! you don't have to! you can just write people of colour swinging swords at dragons, or falling in love w charming sea monsters, or going on funky quests, or having their filler beach episode. it's fine.

A Short List of Adventure Time AUs

So I got a google doc of adventure time aus I’ve made over the past two or three years. Here are some of my favorites (and also the ones I came back to and edited)

If you’ve got ideas for an au or ideas to add onto the preexisting ones I’ve got here, please tell me! I’m always up for some au discussion. 

1.) Jermaine AU: Jermaine comes to live at the treehouse after his house blows up. This, unlike canon, happens rather early in season 3. The rest of the series mainly stays the same, except this time there's three brothers instead of two. He's a kinda anxious dude with demon hunting expertise and a painting hobby. He sometimes wonders if he made Dad disappointed by letting all his work explode. Finn and Jake help him out, and he helps them. Despite this, Jermaine is the only one with a brain, and Finn and Jake share exactly one (1) braincell that they trade every so often. Jermaine is tired. (Jermaine is the only one who tries to clean regularly, and he's also the one to keep Neptr, Ancient Psychic Tandem War Elephant, and a few others company. He's a bit of real wisdom the early series Finn and Jake needed.

2.) Melted Ice AU: Mid season two, IK is hit with something that de-ages him. He turns six. Maybe this mystery de-aging thing blows up the top of the ice mountain, who knows. Maybe he wakes up in the snow, with no memory of how he got there or why. No memory of the last one thousand years. Finn and Jake don't know about his backstory since that happens in season three. Simon is carried by a snowman out of the ice kingdom where he breaks down in the plains. Finn, of course, finds him and is ecstatic to meet another human. Completely missing the fact that this small child is, in fact, the Ice King, Finn declares to help this boy no matter what. That promise soon becomes difficult when people hear about the second human in Ooo, and whatever effect that's keeping him young starts to wear off. (Marceline comes to visit and has a heart attack)

3.) Adventure Falls AU: AT x GF baybee!! Seventeen year old Stanley Pines hops on the Stan O' War and sets sail when he's kicked out. Unfortunately, that boat is nowhere near sea worthy, and all it takes for him to go overboard is one sudden (magical) storm. But, miraculously, Stan doesn't die. He washes up on Ooo, the island of misfits. Where there's daddy issues galore and punching things and getting gold is a legitimate career. He's found on the shore by none other than Finn, who asks if he's okay and if a dungeon adventure would soothe his worries. Stan accepts, because that sounds awesome, and they maybe date. For the next ten years, Stanley is a professional hero. He travels with Finn, he lives in a tower with tons of gold, he's respected, adored, and has made a family for himself. Ooo has a habit of forcing traumatic therapy onto to people, so Stan gets (read: is forced) to work his issues out. And then, somehow, he gets a postcard from his brother.

4.) Young Pups AU: Jake's kids grow up fast- but not that fast. He stays with lady for a few episodes being Dad and when the Pups are old enough, go visit Finn and Jermaine. Also Jermaine is there when the pups are born that always bothered me in canon like what the fuck. This whole AU results in Jake the Dad being a better father than in canon, because he actually has time to make mistakes and learn from them. He sometimes shapeshifts into one of those baby carriers but suited for five kids instead of one. Finn and Jermaine fight for best uncle privileges. Finn is considerably more awesome but Jermaine's got magic junk and juicy stories about Jake. So far the votes are: FINN: Jake Jr, T.V.  JERMAINE: Kim Kil Whan, Charlie. Viola remains undecided.

4.) Evilgreen AU: Evergreen was evil. His idea to make the crown to stop the comet was actually a cover story to take control of all the elements and freeze everything. Of course the same thing happens here as it did in canon, Gunther gets the crown and wishes to *be* evergreen. This is bad. Very bad, so bad in fact, that things get FUnKy. A couple eons later, Simon gets the crown as per canon, and then things start to slide downhill. Since the crown is significantly worse, Simon tries to get rid of it. No amount of magic pull is going to get him to put on the eldritch hat. It teleports back. When things go to shit, the crown tells him he's got two options: He can either live, or he can live unwillingly. This all coalesces in super angst and mild horror as Simon has to fight off evil urges and somehow keep both he and Marceline safe. Things start looking up, though, when he summons Hunson Abadeer.

5.) Nightmare Therapy AU: Simon, now himself post canon, has some funky nightmares. Problem is: he's due for a visit from the cosmic owl due to some mystical bureaucratic bs. If that were to happen, Simon's dreams of Golb and Orgalorg and the world ending and everyone dying and maze would come true, without the veil of metaphoric junk dreams are known for (also due to bureaucratic bs). So, Simon gets a dream therapist. An OC, probably, that would fight off his nightmares when they came and talk to him about his issues.

6.) High School AU: Except they're all still magic and crap. Finn's a jock that's part of the LDnD club(Literally Dungeons and Dragons), Jake's got a job at a pancake place and hosts the Card Wars clubs on Wednesdays, Jermaine's in college and their parents were still detectives/demon hunters. PB is preppy/nerdy girl with weird fucking family and is absolutely a mad scientist. Marceline is still a demon/vamp (vampire biker gang, they all died, deaths pending) and her uncle is Simon. Simon is a history teacher whose ex wife might be an eldritch abomination (the students wonder, but there are no answers)((simon says cryptic things every so often that are the subject of much ridicule, but he's a nice guy)). Ooo High has all of the AT characters in some shape or form. Tree trunks is the lunchlady, Mr Pig is a janitor. Lemongrab is just there. LSP(Q?) is a teacher because that's hilarious. Hunson is dead along with Marceline's mom because fuck hunson. Magic Man is a hobo that snuck onto campus and can't be chased off (his brother is the superintendent, Glob). there's a lot more but that's for a different word doc.

7.) Back to the Future AU: So PB fucks around with time travel, right? For science. She gets sent back in time a thousand years, before the war. Now, she's a pink lady who can shoot jelly beans from her hands, of course needs to lay low. And of course she needs to get home, but she's in a Futurama situation where she only has one type of time machine; the one that can go into the past. Not to mention her own time machine got busted on her way there, so she's double screwed. But, she remembers something. There is an individual (two, actually) that knows about time travel in this time period. She knows him, and he's likely to help her if she plays her card right. She needs to find Simon and get back to her own time, preferably without dooming herself in the process. (perhaps she tries to steal the notes Simon has, and Simon's completely oblivious, except Betty can smell trouble from a mile away and immediately notices some pink woman trying to steal books and she goes ham. Perhaps she goes ham in such a way that Simon doesn't notice. Perhaps this goes on for seven acts.)

8.) Bread and Butter AU: Bella Noche during the episode Betty creates a huge black cube that engulfs all of Wizard City. This box acts as a cage and prevents Wizards from escaping the magic purge. Simon is unable to bring Betty back from the past, and he's fading fast. In a desperate attempt to stop things from escalating, Simon chugs a bottle of anti-magic like a fucking god. He gets through the cube that surrounds Bella Noche and knocks their lights out. He passes out, and when he comes to, the anti-magic he consumed as merged with him. This is because of a simple rule: Magic sticks to magic, anti-magic sticks to anti-magic. And since humans have always had just a little bit of anti -magic present within them, humans and anti-magic go together like bread and butter (badumtish) ((I have actually written a fanfic about this, you can find it here))

9.) Swapped AU: Through various shenanigans Ice King's and Magic Man's powers gets swapped. These shenanigans somehow land them in space as well. This happens before Magic Man's trial. The swapping of their powers results in Simon getting his memory back. It also gives Magic Man the Ice Crown, unfortunately for him though, it seems to hate him. Simon's glad to back, but quickly realizes one issue: He's still crazy. So the pair try to make it back to Ooo. MM needs his powers to swap himself with some other shmuck so he doesn't croak when his trial comes, but Simon's made it clear he isn't giving his powers up without a fight. The pair starts off rocky, neither trusting the other, but space trouble forces them to work together. Simon's a nice enough guy he wouldn't leave someone to die and MM really needs Simon alive so it works out. A weird friendship forms, and they learn get along. Just a couple of crazy space wizards. Then the crown is destroyed. MM is freed from the crown's control, and he's freed from magic. He gets his sanity back, just in time for his trial.

If the botw sequel is keeping the paraglider (and rumour has it he’s losing a hand) then the hookshot would be fun to use in conjunction with it and could offer different challanges. Maybe using it to hold onto fast enemies,, or fly with the dragons, or zip through tight spaces. Revali’s gale kinda negated the need for it but who knows what the new game will bring~~~ this is better than the answer i was gonna put about wanting to pet the dogs

komaru - accidentally hits her dog - cries - has made it her goal to get every flower - so close!! - settles in a flower forest and sees gonta frequently   - they vibe together and find bees - baby talks to her animals

kyoko - tries to strategize ways to get diamonds faster - makoto and nagito ruin that whole idea - found the end portal like 30 minutes in with shuichi - has a whole villager dungeon - results in really good enchantment books - when peoples items get stolen, she pulls a sherlock holmes - has gotten tons of good items as payment

byakuya - literally sucks at minecraft - renews the server monthly cause makoto begged him to - pays others to get him stuff - has literally bought a whole set of diamond armor from nagito with real money - is a nomad because toko hunts him down - steals gold from celeste and makes gold pictures of himself - has a diamond throne - forces toko to fucking throw herself into lava

pearl farming mermaid 

his clan of mermaids is known for being keepers of the shells - which refers to oysters, clams, conchs, etc. 

his tail is the color of seaweed, a shiny dark green and his scales create a pretty curve up to his hips

he has rather large gills compared to other mermaids because he goes extremely deep to search for pearls 

his family is said to be the “glowing eyes” mermaids for if you find them at that deep their eyes give off a yellow gleam

but he is such a sweetheart of a mermaid,,,,,like he isn’t some greedy hoarding pearl farmer

he actually really enjoys making jewelry for other mermaids to wear with pearls

he has his own, the pink conch pearl his mother made him and that he’s worn since he was young

and when mermaids come asking for something pretty - he’s more than happy to make it

younger mermaids sometimes think his tail is a long eel and get scared of it and he’s like TT why do kids not like me and taemin is like because you look like a big water snake im sorry but its true jkjkjk

and u sometimes take your boat out near this place that has a lot of oysters there,,,but when you dive to go look at them

ur not like,,,,,,trying to harvest them or whatever - you just like looking at them because they’re pretty

tbh you just like the animals and plants of the ocean ur just there to see them

and onew has noticed you,,,,,he’s had to hide a couple of times when you come around to just roam

and ur the first no-tail (what they call humans) that like,,,,,doesnt come here to take his oysters

which is like,,,,,,,confusing because you just seem to enjoy swimming around 

and after a while he decides he’d like to try something

so he makes you a bracelet of pearls and leaves it in a spot he knows u like to see if ull be tempted

but,,,,,as usual you come by - pick it up - but then leave it there,,,,

even though onew is sure something like that must be a lot of money in the no-tail world above

and he keeps planting all these pretty pearls and whatnot but you never take anything from the ocean and one day

as you’re swimming back up to your boat

and getting in and taking your diving gear off

you feel your boat rock and all of a sudden you see a person, their arms resting on the side of your boat

and ur like ?? hello are you ok are you stuck in the water do you need help ??

and it’s onew he just drops the chain of pearls into your boat and nudges them toward you and you’re like ???

and he’s like “gift,,,,,,,” and you’re like for me???? why??? have we met??? i dont know any other divers around here

and onew is like “do you like it?” and ur like well pearls are pretty sure but who are you -

and onew is just like,,,,, “they’re yours”

and with that he falls back into the water and you’re about to panic

but then you see his tail raise up out of the water and you’re left SPEECHLESS

because was that handsome mermaid the one,,,,leaving pretty pearls for you?????

onew returns to his people and everyone is like ,,,,,,, this is impossible but why is his face so red

Minho

shark mermaid 

his clan of mermaids is supposedly the rowdy bunch,,,,,,the bad boys of the sea if you will

because unlike usual mermaids,,,,their teeth are super sharp and their tails are coarse like shark skin

they also can hunt bigger prey than normal mermaids and are always said to be making a mess of their food everywhere

lots of mermaids don’t like them,,,,,,which makes lovable and personable minho really sad

because he just wants to help and use his shark-strength for good,,,,,,but no one wants him around

and smiling with those huge teeth,,,,,,not a good way to impress people apparently

except you,,,,,,,who happens to be the only person in the world who’d meet a shark-merman and be completely and utterly in love

it happens when you’re fishing and you put wAY too much bait onto your tiny little hook

and instead of pulling up a fish,,,,you pull up minho

which almost makes you pass out until you realize what he is (not a person whose body you just discovered - but a poor merman who now has a hook caught in his mouth)

and youre like oh no open up so i can get it out

and he does and you’re like OH TEETH

and hes like “sowry,,,theywe,,,,scawy” (the hooks making him speak al funky)

and you’re like no no no they’re cool just open up and please promise not to chomp my hand off

and he’s like nodding and you get in there and get the hook out and you’re like all good

and he’s blushing because ofc he got,,,,,,,caught on a FISHING line of all things

but you’re just like wow wow so many questions are you like actually part shark wow wow what kind of shark can i see your teeth again

and poor minho is all flustered,,,,no one has ever showed so much interest in him 

and you’re just buzzing with this cute sparkle in your eye

like do mermaids brush their teeth???? is that thing for you guys??? omg 

and he’s like huh whats that

and ur like O M G and you show him your toothbrush on your boat and he’s like huh do i eat it

and ur like no no no u clean ur teeth with it

and he’s like how and ur trying to explain it and minho’s like OH to get those parts of the fish out of your back teeth that get stuck there right

and ur like what but ur like yES 

and it’s cute you teaching shark man minho how to brush his teeth

and promising you’ll come visit him with more funky human products

Key

pirate mermaid 

used to be part of a clan of mermaids who harvested coral and seaweed but that sort of life got boring so one day he just decided to swim to another part of the ocean

and,,,,kind of began a life of thievery 

which he did at first to like survive but now he just sees ships passing by that have cargo and treasure and he’s like

might as well use the whole “mermaids are scary creatures” myth to my advantage

he also,,,,,might have learned a thing or two from siren mermaids - because as vicious as he can come off with ringed red eyes and sharp mermaid teeth

he can also make himself QUITE appealing to sailors ,,,,,,, with his pretty orange scales and golden hued gills 

but yeah no he’s only after their goods

especially enjoys finding gems and jewels and anything he can adorn himself with

wears cuffed golden earrings and has some scarring from fights he’s gotten into (which he’s won)

you’re a cabin hand on this ship that’s supposed to be transporting all this art and stuff to europe for a show

and to be honest you hate your job - because most of the sailors are always rowdy and rude to you

and you’re the one left cleaning up their messes

so when they dock for the night on this tiny little island, you’re the one left with clean up duty

and you’re sweeping around the edge of the boat when you hear a soft voice

and you turn around to see someone’s grabbed a hold of the boat

and at first you think it’s some drunk person swimming at night and ur like uhhhhhhh hello do u need a hand

and they just pop their head out and smile 

and ,,,,,,, woah theyre cute but uh,,,,,,,,,,,what are they doing in the dark water

and he’s just like “oh i dont need help, but this is the ship that’s got,,,,,all that fancy art on it right?”

and you’re like .,,,,,,,,,yeah?

and he’s like mind if,,,,,,,,,,i look at some of it

and ur like i dont think im allowed to do that and he lifts his body up a little and you catch a glimpse of his waist

which is,,,,,,naked,,,,,,,and not connected to a pair of legs

but a big, glimmering tail

and ur like hold up wait wait wait ur a mermaid

and the boy is like oh silly me i guess i let the human see my tail!!!! but yes im a mermaid and im scary so move aside or ill um eat you

and ur like,,,,,,,,,,,,mermaids dont eat people

and key is like furrowing his eyebrows like u dont know that how many mermaids have you met in ur life

and ur just like i dont think u could eat me ur kinda skinny

and key is like HEY .,,,,,,,,,true but still give me some of the stuff on this boat or ill just have to take it from you by forc-

and ur like ok i hate my job anyway wait here

and u go into the back pick some random stuff and just throw it overboard like here ya go

and key just blinks like,,,,,,,,um this is now how it usually works

and ur like its fine. itll be fun watching some of the idiots get in trouble when we get to europe 

and instead of swimming off with the goods, key rests his hands on the edge of ur boat and hes like hey,,,,,,if u hate your job just runaway

and ur like and what become a pirate

and key grins like i did it. its worked out nice for me

and ur like yeah but ur ,,,,uve got the looks and the cool mermaid powers

key laughs at that, but reaches out to take your hand and ur like /??? and he slips one of the gold bracelets he has on to your wrist and hes like

it should be worth a lot of human money. go. run off and start a better life

and ur like w,,,,what i mean,,,,,,thanks i mean,,,,

and you look down and key is like well i have to go,,,,rob some more people and stuff but i hope we can meet again

and ur like wait wait,,,,,,,,,can i come with you

and he’s like ur not a mermaid- and ur like no no i mean ,,,,, what if we just take this whole boat right now. its full of precious art. why not

and key grins and lifts himself up a little to be at eye level with u

and suddenly ur a little nervous,,,,but also embarrassed

and he’s like human,,,,i like the way you think

scavenging fierce pirates,,,,,but also cute human and mermaid who fall in love hehe

Taemin

seahorse mermaid 

a super rare type of mermaid whose lower body resembles that of a leafy sea dragon 

his coloration is yellow with small spots of brown and green

and from his hair grown the similar long leaf like skin that make it look like he’s wearing these long beautiful earrings

his gills are small and crescent shape on his neck and they illuminate a little when he swims

is very very playful and curious but can also just lazily float when he’s not feeling it

unfortunately, he was captured by scientists at a young age and has spent the better part of his life being experimented on 

you’re one of the new lab techs whose assigned to a project on taemin and you,,,,,,hate seeming him all cooped up in that tiny tank

all alone

so every now and then when someone isnt looking you give him a little wave or do something silly to entertain him 

recently you’ve started also listening to music when the other scientists and techs arent around

and sometimes ull do a little dance

and taemin,,,,,,,,,starts copying you

but when he does it it’s like ten million times more beautiful because he has that unique tail

and you cant really talk through the glass so you start using hand signals

like a thumbs up and making hearts

and you see how happy it makes him because he’ll do this little turn inside the tank

and swim up real close and smile against the glass

and ,,,,,, at one point you even get close and taemin and you just spend a good two minutes staring at each others faces

till taemin taps on the glass where your lips are and you dont know what he means

but you hear the door open and you have to step back

but anyway,,,,,everything is going fine - the project that taemin is involved in doesnt hurt him in any sort of way it just has some small samples that need to be taken and observation of his behavior  

but you can tell that he’s old enough now that this little space is stressing him out

and one day when you’re alone in the lab with him 

you try to figure out how to sign to him that you want to help him get out of the tank

and you pull up a photo of the ocean on your phone and point to him and then to it

and taemin watches intently until he presses close to the glass and taps again on your reflection,,,,on the place where your lips are

and you tap back to him

and then,,,,,,

you watch as he presses his lips to the glass, eyes fluttering a bit and you,,,,,,,,you can’t believe it but you think

that the mermaid is asking for a kiss

and you’re embarrassed to death but ,,,, you do it because,,,,,how can you say no to taemins face

and when you pull back he does another happy twirl and puts his hand to the glass

so you can put yours over it

and now more than ever,,,,,more than anything else you want to make sure to get him back out into the ocean,,,,,,

even if your heart is going a little crazy inside your chest at this moment hehe
