You always love animals, you don’t have one but the orphanage that you lived on had a few cats and dogs. Cause you cannot socialize much with every person in the orphanage, you spend your day by playing with a few dogs and cats.

Today, there’s no many customers coming to your store. You can’t blame them, some of the companies just release a pet-bot product, everything seems to be done by robots in this era.

“y/n you’re daydreaming again” your friend Haechan waves his hands in front of your face.

“ok, now have you checked on the order from our website?” you laugh and switch the position of haechan’s laptop to you, scrolling all of the name that you’ve already checked 3 times today with him.

The three of you had agreed to build a pet shop together, you and haechan’s job was in front of the shop talking to the customer meanwhile jeno was the doctor, he took care of the practical thing.

five minutes later, jeno rushed up to the two of you with an angry look. He stops in front of you and slams the newspaper that he got this morning, making you and Haechan throw some weird looks and then peeking at the news that made Jeno so mad. The headline said “The scientist from LiU Corp released a statement: Every place that contains animals in confinement should register their name and address, we run out of space”. You look at Haechan who gives you a ‘i don't know’ look and then move to Jeno who is still looking furious with this news. You knew you guys needed to register your shop as well but you don’t think that was a big deal, you guys can take some of the animals that LiU Corp had, cause breeding animals in this era need a permission from the government so you guys don't really have that many animals in the shop.

Jeno looked at you two, expecting some reaction but all he got was a confused look from both of you. Jeno slid his hair back and exhaled hardly, like it was the bad bad news he had in every year he worked here. “You guys remember that they offered me a job 2 years ago?” “Yes, and you stupidly refuse to work at the biggest company in this district” Haechan sneer, he’s playing with his hand, doesn't really want to pay attention to anything his friend is about to say. “I didn't say the reason why I did that to you two cause I thought you guys don't have to know it” said jeno, he took a deep breath and said, “they were having an experiment, and they will use it to fight the 2nd district product on the market.” “What do you mean, why would the LiU want to compete with the 2nd district with a bunch of animals?” You keep reading the newspaper which doesn't include much information about things that jeno said to you. “They were making hybrids, inside that company..” jeno said in a low voice

A few days after that conversation, a bunch of boxes came to your shop. There’s no information about anything inside it and they really covered everything until it arrived. Haechan who noticed the box earlier today calls the rest of you, and then decides to close the shop for today. “I don’t know about this, I think we should turn it back to LiU Corp. I think they might be joking” Haechan observing the boxes up and down with an irritated face. “We should look at it first” Jeno moved forward and tried to open the box. It's actually not hard to open, cause after a few knocking the box opened itself and revealed a very terrified looking lion-hybrid.

You, Jeno, and Haechan share a look and then decide to introduce yourself to the male hybrid after a few nods. Jeno goes first, he gives the boy a little smile and then rushes to open the other box. Haechan was next he kneel in front of the cage and smile softly making you surprised by the sudden action, well you’ve seen the soft side of haechan but he rarely shows it to the others. Lastly it was you, you stepped forward, and then kneeling copying haechan’s moves who seemed to be taking a liking to the boy in front of you. “Hi, my name is y/n nice to meet you”

it’s been a week since the hybrid from LiU Corp came to your shop. You, Jeno and Haechan decide to build a few comfy rooms for the hybrid to spend their time in the shop, the three of you think it’s too cruel to just leave them in the cage for an animal. You opened the shop as usual, Haechan said he will come late for today and he said he still has more classes meanwhile Jeno will be here in 1 hour. So you decide that you’ll be doing some cleaning at the animal’s area, cause you didn’t really remember the last time you cleaned those areas. Jeno was in charge of the animal here, some of the animals here are still kinda aggressive so he doesn’t really like it if you and haechan are playing around near the cage. So you decide to just clean the hall, you don’t wanna get in trouble with Jeno who seems to be getting better from his anger toward LiU Corp.

You understand why Jeno is so mad towards them,

“I mean they still had our genes, like living in a cage? that’s bad..very bad”, you swept the floor while thinking to yourself, like how lucky you are even though you can’t even remember who your parents are. “I don’t know you like to talk to yourself like that” said someone’s in the back you turn around to find Jeno walking towards you with someone in his back, oh he was one of the hybrid’s they’ve got from LiU back then. “You know you should let me know you were here, instead of scaring me like that” you said rising you eyebrow “Actually, Mark saw you coming here by yourself and what did I say about coming here? rules are rules you know i made that so you won’t get hurt. You know every pet shop in this district doesn't only taking care of dogs and cats, what if you somehow running into a bear cage i don’t want you to be his meal” Jeno said with concern in his eyes “I'm just cleaning the hall Jeno, and please I can take care of myself” you said pointing the floor you just swept earlier. “And wait what his name is Mark?”

Jeno laughs at your question, he pushes the lion-hybrid boy to your direction, “of course, he needs some names, right? we can't call him without a name and since i gave him his name he would be Mark Lee”. The boy in front of you gives you a shy smile and then goes to jeno’s back, well he’s that type of shy guy you think. “Seriously? why would you come up with that” you laugh finding the Lee thing is funny. “Well, as long as Mark’s fine with that, and he said it’s ok” Jeno said with a proud smile.

“Now can you both get out of here, I need to work” Jeno said, pushing Mark to you once more gently and pointing the way out. You shrug and lead Mark to the exit door, he doesn’t say anything to you just following you from behind. “Hey Mark, i see you close to Jeno” you said teasingly, the boy blush and let out a little giggle while staring at the floor “Jeno is nice to us, he often checks on me and the others” he said with a low voice, it was actually the first time you actually talked to him, cause some of the hybrids usually stay in their room, or keep so much distance from you. You don’t mind that, they just got in here and you sometimes find yourself look scary when you’re stressed over work.

THE SOCIALLY CONSCIOUS AND THE REVOLUTIONARY

Kwame Toure once spoke on the difference between mobilization and organization of African people in America. I would like to also speak on a difference.

There are two types of black people in America. There are those of us who are interested in "issues" and then there are those of us who are interested in much more. The overwhelming majority of our people believe that they are fighting for the right reasons and in some ways, they are. In the 1960's we fought for Civil Rights and desegregation. That was an issue that was important to us as a people. In the 60's we also fought for fair and equal treatment in the corporate world and in education, and what came out of that was a concept called, Affirmative Action. That was an issue that was important to us. We took it as a victory. The 1980's was a mixed bag. There were some good and some not so good things that took place. We had three black Miss Americas, we had an hour glass shape economic structure (big money in - a trickle down effect and big money out). It was a decade of corporate discrimination, a war on drugs that targeted inner urban black communities, and a new slogan "Afrocentric" which was more about fashion and culture than politics. But we fought the issues that were important to us.

The 90's brought in the crack epidemic, the Bloods and the Crips, the Rodney King beating, riots, the dragging death of James Byrd by white supremacist and, gangsta rap. It wasn't black people's best moment but we fought the issues that were important to us. We didn't win many battles but at least we fought our battles. I suppose there's pride in just playing the game. [It's not whether you win or lose but how you play the game. Well that old adage takes away our natural instinct and will to succeed.] The 2000's to now, Racism has gotten perpetually more brazen and in the past couple of years we have protested and boycotted more in the past two years than we did in the entire decade of 60's - proving that we have hardly taken a step towards real social progress. But, thanks to technology we can take our anger and outrage to social media and forge our dissatisfaction with our current government through Tweets and memes. Some even consider THIS "fighting."

Every time there's an act of injustice or a social issue, we (black folks) have no problem responding to that issue. There's no shortage of black people who are willing to boycott, protest or hold mass demonstrations. A clothing store is selling a racist sweater - let's rally and show them we mean business! We won't shop there any longer. No problem! The company will most likely pull the item from their shelves and we will most likely return to the store as happy patrons a couple of months later after it all blows over. We may even feel accomplished. A black man had the police called on him for doing nothing more than walking into his apartment building and a white woman took one look at him and decided that there's no way he could afford to live there and so she called the authorities. Let's rally and show them how upset we are at that sort of racism. No problem! The woman will probably lose her job at the bank as a result of the video of her harassing the young black gentleman gong viral. We may even feel accomplished. People will always come to rally and protest and scream and pump their fist. People will always come together to address "Issues." We will always gather around "Issues." It's predictable.

Those of us who are revolutionaries and progressive thinkers are not concerned with "Issues." We're concerned with the system. You must understand the difference. People who are concerned with issues are not concerned with reformation, they are concerned with equity. They are the people who pose the questions, "How come I can't have the same slice of pie? How come the white folks are entitled to certain privileges and I am not?" This is how they think. This is not how the revolutionary thinks. The protestors and equal opportunity folks don't want social reform; they just want what they think is "owed" to them and they want it with very little change or sacrifice. They want to be black without being African. Their concerns are always temporary. Once they are are satisfied, they move on to the next "issue" like a virus or forget all together about the previous issue. The two black men who were arrested in Starbucks last April, quick . . . what were their names? See? Because of this short-term memory, these people can easily be fooled around the issue and they often become so enamored by one issue that it seems that it's the only issue worth caring about. It's difficult to get these people to organize or to even organize their own thoughts. They lack continuity and consistency. They are simply not organized.

When you are organized, you don't need money, you don't need fame, fortune, popularity or allies. Why? Because you have power. Despite what some may believe, power does NOT come from money or opportunity. Power comes only from the organized masses (Kwame Toure). America is NOT the most powerful nation on the earth. China is the most powerful nation on the earth - not because they have money but because they are organized! Because they are not concerned with "Issues," they are concerned with systems! Capitalism is not a concept, it is an organized system of private enterprise. Europeans in the 1600's traveled to the west coast of Africa and captured in the excess of 10 million Africans for slavery and they accomplished this not because they had money but because they were organized. Only organization could account for several hundred men having the ability destabalize a country of millions.

Out of many of the issues that we love to rally over, we always fail to rally over the biggest issue, our disorganization. It is safe to say that we can not even organize to talk about our disorganization. Black people in America (displaced Africans) will never be able to fight an organized system while being disorganized. Money is not the answer, our national interest in destabalizing the system is the answer. We must understand our national interest and we cannot exercise so much stupidity to allow that system to convince us of what our interests SHOULD be (money.)

They will happily entertain our desire for money as long as we don't desire what we really need, organization (power). They understand that our lack of economic literacy will pretty much guarantee an hour glass result, (big money in - a trickle down down - big money out). Are you going to spend the rest of your life addressing "Issues" or are you going to stop putting your hand out and start addressing the system that gives birth to these issues? The difference between socially conscious folks and the revolutionaries is that the socially conscious are only conscious SOCIALLY and will only respond socially. They are the issue fighters. Revolutionaries on the other hand are globally conscious. GLOBALLY (hence the term: Revolve) and they see all sides of the sphere. We are the system fighters.

let's look at some statistics.

(don't worry, I'll do the math.)

in 2015 there were 320.64 million people in america. 2.71 million died. 0.84% of the total population of people died that year. to match 2016's total population it would need to rise by 2.3 million, meaning 5 million babies were born (or people who immigrated).

in 2016, 322.94 lived here. 2.74 died. 0.85%. 4.75 were born.

2017, 324.99 alive, 2.81 died. 0.86%. 4.5 born.

2018, 326.69, 2.84 dead, 0.87%, 4.4 born.

2019, 328.24, 2.85 dead, 0.87%, 4.5 born.

and in 2020, 329.88 lived. the population slowly increased, the death rate slowly increased which makes sense exponentially, and the birth rate was pretty standard. it's fine.

but... this is sobering.

out of 329.88 million people, 3.36 million died. that's 1.02%. that's a jump by 0.15%, which when you realize that's 494,000 people...

usually it's been so far that the number of people who died each year increased an average of less than 0.01% aka 33,000.

461,000 extra people died in 2020.

but that's just the beginning.

691,000 people died from heart disease which happens every year because people die from being old (or 400 pounds overweight and I do mean that literally) and their hearts give out. but you know what, if less than 700K people die and over 4 million people are born that's totally fine. people gotta die, it's a fact of life.

600,000 people died from cancer. fuck cancer.

192,000 people died from accidents. oopsie.

160,000 people died from strokes. if your heart is stronger than your brain then you're probably gonna die by one of these. it sucks but again old people gotta die somehow.

151,000 people died from their lungs. smoking does that. it sucks but it makes sense. it's easy to die from any of your major organs failing.

133,000 people died from alzheimers which is, again, something that afflicts mostly the old. it's a shame really because of how much of a cruel fate it is to slowly lose your memories instead of just passing away all at once if your heart just decided to stop beating while you slept.

100,000 people died from pharmaceutical companies hoarding insulin for money like the greedy corporate fucking morality-whores they are diabetes. unfortunate. mostly preventable. insulin should be free, fuck you if you disagree.

53,000 people died from pneumonia and the flu. so you know what if you think that it's a valid talking point to say "nobody gets the flu anymore" you're a goddamn idiot so shut the fuck up you stupid cunts.

nearly the same amount died from kidneys.

and 44,000 people killed themselves. sad. although I'm surprised as hell that the number of reported suicides went DOWN??? during pandemic? which seems contrarian but hey it's good news.

now, I'm gonna take a brief segue to point out that cancer stayed at the same number and this probably shows something nefarious about cancer research and big pharma because it stayed scarily static and I might put on a tinfoil hat and say it's because I think the government might be infecting the population with cancer in order to get more money from people through cancer research as a big money laundering op to finance their underground secret wars and the black market because that's something they would totally do. but that's unimportant.

also, heart disease noticeably increased over the years but like, as time goes on and the population increases more age demographics get larger and older so that makes sense. stroke, alzheimer's, kidney disease, them too. but what's REALLY WEIRD is just how many accidents increased exponentially. I can't just attribute it to dumbasses with gender reveal parties and dumbfuck republicans having huge fuckass fires, something nefarious is going on.

and one last thing... look. gun violence is bad. mass shootings, gang warfare, cops, they're out of control. and they mostly target children, people of color and/or religious minorities, and the lower class, homeless, impoverished, etc. it's not as bad as the left makes it out to be in terms of pure numbers but it's worse than the right makes it out to be in terms of statistical analysis and common sense. more people die by their own hands than by guns. just like the war on drugs is a colossal fucking waste of time and taxpayer money, a gun ban would be an expensive waste of time, and if you are out here advocating for BANS then you're a moron who doesn't understand basic fucking civics and is doomed to never operate a successful government and probably shouldn't even vote, because all we need is treating them the same way we treat cars, this is a perfectly reasonable compromise between the "ban everything we find even slightly morally questionable and yet ignore why that's a fucking stupid mentality so says every single queer who's ever been victim to religious based oppression" left, and the "we hate black people but not as much as we love our rooty tooty point n shooty and we will never accept any bill that limits military expenditures because GUN GUNS GUNS YEEHAW" right, because you have to appeal to the majority in a democracy and if you don't like that then fine go ahead and wave your pastel hammer/sickle because you've already given up your rights as a voting american and you live in this system so you have to abide by it unless you're willing to get your hands dirty and actually get off your ass and do some direct action and pipe bomb tesla microsoft apple sony disney or any other actively harmful corporation. didn't mean to go on this tangent but oh well. the highest stats I could find say that less than 15K people died at max in 2015 and honestly given that in the past 20 years it's been between 10 and 15K yearly I gotta say that 30 per day is really not that high and the best way to prevent these is control & reform & prevention strategies and not waste the government's time because they can barely pave the roads (AND CAR ACCIDENTS KILL SO MANY MORE PEOPLE). anyway this is one of the dumbest hills to die on and it's not that high a number and every single person who wastes all their time arguing about guns and ignoring diabetes and cops and suicide, the much more important issues in our society (defunding the police and putting that money into free insulin and mental health care will save more lives than the piggies ever will), is a moron who's missing the big picture.
