What shadow work do you need to do?
Pile 1-(6 of swords, 2 of cups rx, 5 of swords, 5 of cups rx, Page of swords rx, Queen of cups, 8 of pentacles, The Lovers)
There's a lot of lingering heartbreak from your past that you need to let go of. It's time to move on. Accept what has already happened. Accept what you cannot change. This could even be trauma that you have from a certain family member. It's time to release and give some love back to yourself. You need to be softer with your communication. Be nicer to yourself. You should listen to some self-love affirmations. Energy healing frequencies may benefit you as well. You can find these videos all over youtube.
*Angel messages: "Spend time alone in nature, meditating about your desires and intentions. Ask the angels to help you gain a positive perspective. ; Keep charging ahead, and don't take no for an answer. Expect miraculous solutions to appear."
Pile 2-(The Hermit, 7 of pentacles rx, 4 of cups, 10 of swords, 8 of pentacles, 10 of cups, 4 of pentacles, The Magician)
You need to spend some time alone and get your mind right. Your laziness is causing delays and a lack of follow through with your plans. Stop blocking yourself babe. Get your ass up and fucking work!🤣 You may be sad about your current environment or just with the way your life is going. You're literally the only person that can change that tho. Your 10 of cups is already waiting on you. You've gotta be willing to work for it tho. You need to take yourself more seriously. You could have so much rn. Think more positively, and watch how it shifts your whole reality. Subliminals related to mindset and self-concept would benefit you; or even meditations with positive affirmations. Videos related to self-help and manifestation will help as well. Watch creators like TheWizardLiz or Anila Sita 101. You can find these videos on youtube. Get more comfortable with change. What was lost was never really meant for you in the first place. Remember that rejection is protection. You ARE worth it. 💗
*Angel message: "I am helping you heal physical challenges in yourself and others. You are a healer like me."
Pile 3-(Page of cups, Temperance, The High Priestess, Strength, The Emperor, Knight of swords, 2 of wands rx, The Hanged Man)
Get in touch with your spiritual side more. Work with spiritual and protective tools. Sage/smudging your space often will really benefit you. Crystals and protective jewelry will help replenish and protect your energy. You can even use spiritual essential oils; i'm feeling specifically that you should use oils that aid your health, self-love, and protection. You can find this stuff all over Etsy! Leave your comfort zone more. Work on releasing your fears. It's just fear babe. Stop letting it hold you back from your dreams! Be more direct with the way you communicate. Don't be afraid to be the loudest person in the room. Speak your truth and stand on it. Let yourself shine!🌟
*Angel message: "I bring you a message from your deceased loved one; I am happy, at peace, and I love you very much. Please don't worry about me."
Pile 4-(Knight of pentacles, 8 of swords, The World rx, The Moon, 2 of cups, 3 of wands rx, The Empress, 6 of wands rx, The Star) *angel # confirmation 222, 999
It's time to practice boundaries with certain individuals. Some of these people are holding you back from your true potential. I heard "blind leading the blind". This could be family or close friends. It's time to ride your own wave! Stop seeking validation from outside sources. Do what you want! Show up for yourself more. You should be your biggest cheerleader. Celebrate your small milestones, not just the big ones. Your ideas are meant to take you far in life! Trust the path you're on.
*Angel messages: "I am with you, giving you the courage to make life changes that will help you work on your divine life purpose. ; You have a gift for working with young people, and your divine life purpose involves helping, teaching, or parenting children."
💋Extra message: I wanted to thank you guys bc I recently received 10k likes on my page! THANK YALL SO MUCH!😭😭💖 Yall always show me endless love on this account. I honestly never thought that it would grow into what it is today. I always had doubts about starting this page before. This is actually one of the few places where i feel comfortable enough to express myself with yall. I will never forget and will forever be thankful for the constant love i get on here. luv yall💘

i never gotten this whole recent movement in fandoms to try and reimagine bands and artists as actually something revolutionary leftist especially when they are not? maybe because i enjoy bands like radiohead and the smiths so i am just now numb to bullshit and disappointment and to know to never actually go into enjoying art expecting that the people who made that art to be something to look morally up to
but the weird notion that “um ACKSHULLY this band’s silly performance is actually a subliminal marxist leninist message to unite the workers against big bad music corporations” is so wild to me…it’s like those christian mom statements about emo bands being liberal homosexuals but this time said by chronically online tumblrinas and unironically
Right now I feel like MCR fans are under a very big insecurity complex because their band has been taunting them with an album for like 5 years now. The PR or whatever (moreso early on) is always Very Big and Very Serious so people want the album to be like the best ever and during this time several “dumb” bands like FOB and Blink have done some pretty big stuff whereas pretty much daily MCR fans have been logging on here to write conspiracy theories and fall for morse code ask box hoaxes to no avail. There was also way more content over the hiatus than there is now, and this period is rapidly approaching the length of their hiatus now.
So everything MCR do have to be like bigger and cooler than everyone else so people aren’t forced to accept what has been the truth for half a decade now — that MCR went on a nostalgia bait reunion tour and there was never an album and they played the nostalgia bait festival like everyone else. Maybe there will be an album at some point, but in 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022, there was no album. Which is fine, but not if youre a MCR fan who is being let down and doesn’t want to accept that.
I also think MCR fans are very comfortable with Lying because the band arguably Lies all the time and is also Very Serious about their PR lies, unlike Cobra for example. This creates an environment where making shit up to seem cool is okay, which is like fine when it’s about comic books and ghosts or whatever
But there has been Nothing To Lie About for a very long time so people have started making up their own very not okay Tumblrina La La World where Gerard is a schizophrenic woman with an eating disorder and “smears on dollar store eyeshadow” and “slaps on thrift store dresses” at MCR shows because they “hate capitalism” instead of having Taylor Swift’s stylist make his looks. So fans still can turn around and shit on FOB for collaborating with capitalist Taylor Swift. Cuz you know, FOB have an album and they don’t.
They also play pretend that in 2005 MCR were an underground punk band playing $20 house shows instead of accepting the reality that My Marxist Romance and every other famous band ever used to cost $20 10-15 years ago but have astronomically raised their prices by like 20x and now shows routinely cost $400+. Because if they don’t invent that world, they have to accept that MCR aren’t as like radical as they pretend and are the same as every other band like FOB and Blink—only diff is that those bands have albums.
I think that nobody is saying that WWWY is radical protest NOW but there were several very egregious Posts going around the first time about how MCR “blew their money on confetti and didnt keep any for themselves to protest ticket prices” which were just so out of line and ridiculous to say.
And right now one of the biggest MCR bloggers is getting (imo) one of the most massive callouts in recent band history, so people who saw the posts and disagreed with them initially but were scared of getting into fights with people who would have their followers dogpile on them finally feel comfortable making fun of the people saying that

If you get the chance could you do reader with an anxiety/panic disorder + platonic bad batch
Maybe with some snuggles from wrecker bc I love him SO MUCH <<<<<33333
Aloha! Thanks a lot! Love to read that! 😊 Okay, I'm not really sure if you want this as HCs or a One-shot. But it sounds like a One-shot, with all of them but focus on Wrecker? Let me give it a try. I'm not really a proffesionell, so I can only draw from my own experience regarding anxiety and panic. I hope that works for you. If not, I would need a little more details.

You let yourself be persuaded to go to the market with the boys. Actually, it's not a good idea, today is not a good day, you feel it in your bones, but you don't want to be a killjoy. Against your better judgment, you go along anyway.
While you stroll through the market, you concentrate on the boys as your fixed points, your safety buffers. But there's really a lot going on at the market today. So many people, so many smells, sounds, voices. It's actually not that warm, but you start to sweat a little.
Your eyes twitch back and forth, you don't know what to focus on first, you feel harried and lost at the same time. You constantly have the feeling that you are being watched, subliminally you expect to be grabbed by some stranger at any time. It's not a full on panic attack yet, but you know it's about to happen.
You feel helpless, trying to fight that upcoming feeling of paralyzing fear, but it only seems to get worse.
Suddenly, Hunter stops and turns to you.
"Hey, is everything okay?"
You force yourself to smile and say, "Sure."
His gaze is critical, but he doesn't contradict you.
"Okay, if you say so"
It's only a small gesture, and if you weren't so observant you might have missed it, but you see Hunter barely noticeably giving hand signals to his brothers. Like a ring of protection, the boys form around you almost unobtrusively, enclosing you in their midst like a shield.
You look up and Echo smiles gently at you. Tech shows you something on his holopad and distracts you with a few facts about the planet. Crosshair lets you nibble on some dried fruit he bought.
The guys already know that you suffer from these attacks from time to time, by now they know how to deal with it quite well. Wrecker takes your hand very gently. When you look up at him, he smirks at you.
"We've got you, dear."
Your heart beats faster with joy and relief. You take a deep breath and return his smirk. You are incredibly grateful.
Carefully, Wrecker puts his arm around your shoulders and gently presses you against his side.
"You're perfectly safe here," he says softly.
Touched, you say, "I know Wrecker, thank you."
Tech suggests buying stuff for a picnic or barbecue and going to a quieter place. You're not the only one who likes the idea.
Tumblr media
That evening you sit together in the middle of nowhere around a campfire, the Marauder hidden not far from you between some trees. Over the fire is a rack that Tech has put together, on which vegetables and pieces of meat are roasting.
You are leaning against Wrecker's strong chest, he holds you gently in his arms. It feels wonderful, safe, warm, secure. The food over the fire smells so good, the night sky is starry. It seems like a perfect evening, it feels like the world is in order again. There is no fear lurking somewhere in the back of your mind, not now.
You sit back in relief as you hear Echo say, "It's okay if you say no, by the way, you don't have to go along with everything if you don't feel like it, dear."
You blink and look at him in surprise.
Tech adds, "We want you to feel comfortable, but to assure that, you have to be honest with us."
Hunter nods in agreement and says, "None of us are judging you."
Crosshair growls, "Stop saying only what you think we want to hear."
Wrecker squeezes you gently with a soft laugh and says, "What Crosshair is saying is that we want you to be comfortable, so you need to tell us honestly what you want and how you feel"
You smile cautiously and say softly, "Sounds reasonable. Thanks guys"
Hunter assures you, "We'll always have your back, never hesitate to let us know when you need something"

Hello and welcome to my blog! .•° ♡
my name is Yuna and I'm a shifter/respawner and subliminal user/maker since 2019 and into lucid dreaming since 2016. I'm a subliminal maker on Youtube under @YNASHN, I would appreciate it if you could check my channel out! I mainly repost stuff about LOA and shifting in this blog, but sometimes I like to ramble about my DRs as well and I write some educational shifting/LOA posts too. This is also a safe place for any shifter/respawner, anti shifters/respawner are NOT welcome.
Enjoy your stay. ♡
About me
Cancer sun, Libra moon, Virgo rising
Neurodivergent (tone tags are not needed but appreciated!)
I'm a native german speaker and can also communicate in english, so if anyone wants to ask something on my ask box in german, go ahead!
Fav artists: Taylor Swift (rep and midnights >>>), Tokio Hotel, MARINA, Pinkpantheress, Michael Jackson, Vocaloid Producers (OkameP, Yuyoyuppe, Maretu, MuryokuP), IU, Sunmi
Aroace (grayromantic, asexual)
I cuss a lot, so be warned lol
Info for my ask box .•° ♡
I haven't shifted yet but I've had some mini-shifts (basically I shifted to realities familiar to this one), but I'm quite experienced with lucid dreaming and have entered the void multiple times (only through lucid dreaming tho)
I'm still pretty new to LOA so most of my "educational posts" are mostly personal reminders. I'm not a good explainer so pls don't expect from me to be able to answer every question :')
Also english isn't my first language so my answers might seem a bit direct and plain.

╰┈─✩ ˚ ‧ yuvesa ! ‧ ˚
✧˖° synopsis : just a lil selfship post
✧˖° cast and crew : yves x yuta
.ᐟ tropes : friends to lovers, mutual pining, "you deserve the world" "no, you"
⤑ .𖥔 ݁ ˖ authors note : jumping on the self-ship train cause why not !!! (@starsoir and @nudystar harassed me to) love yall tho <3 (going on my side acc cause it’s just for sillies and giggles fr)
date nights // activities
- yuta plans most of, (if not, all) of the dates. they’re usually smaller ones with activities that can be done at home because yves is a homebody ! baking sweets and a movie is usually their go to. he even makes a little pillow fort for them to lay in while they eat and watch the movie yves picked out.
- if the date happens to be outside, yves is usually the one planning it. she tends to be better at picking more outside-ish activities. pottery classes, art galleries, and picnics because yuta loves them :(
- picnic dates in particular is where yves outshines herself because she cooks all of their meals for the occasion ! she’ll even bake some muffins (because they both enjoy them) and maybe if it’s late enough they’ll stargaze.
- yuta drives them everywhere though, yves can’t drive and is too scared to learn so he makes it a habit to be her personal chauffeur.
- yuta buys fake flowers for every. single. date, because yves is allergic to real flowers. (they also last longer and with him knowing how sentimental she can be, he wants them to last as long as possible.)
love languages
- yuta’s love language is quality time, he loves spending time with her and whenever he can. this usually consists them studying together, going shopping while she runs errands and picks up hygiene products. or a quick gas station run; it literally will not matter because he automatically will want to go.
- yves’ love language is acts of service ! she loves doing things for the people she cares about and yuta is no exception !! all of those ranging from tidying up his room while he naps or just making his favorite snacks. her love language is also gift giving, so best believe there is ALWAYS a gift ready for him. stuffed animals, memorabilia from his favorite artists/bands. or just stuff she saw randomly online, she is getting it for him and he is beyondddd grateful every time.
yuvesa lore
- not one soul expected them to end up together. like at all. whatsoever.
- yves had the tendency to tease her romantic prospects (or just loved ones in general). which gave yuta the illusion that she was not interested WHATSOEVER. like, he knew it was playful and whatnot but their interactions often felt like she was friend-zoning him. that definitely was not the case though. it was very much flirting in her eyes, but was it seen as such?….next caller !
- yuta on the other hand does not know how to express his feelings well. if he did try to make a move it was very subliminal, small stuff like him holding her bags for her or just opening up a door and holding it open for her. in his eyes that was as obvious as it could get, but again, it was not as obvious as he thought it was.
- one of the only reasons they ended up together is because inumaki had to play matchmaker, he was sort of a messenger between the two because they were always running to him and asking questions.
“is yves busy today? if i asked her to lunch would she say yes? ask her for me. PLEASEEEEE”
“does yuta have plans? should i ask him if he wants to hang??”
- HE WAS TIREDDDD, like actually sick of it, because watching them dance around each other and just being unsure of who’s feeling what… he was so over it. it got to a point where he just discreetly started snitching on the both of them and left them to fend for themselves. it worked out great though ! he did his due diligence with that one.

Idky sjmaas writes the important bits in her books in such a casual way. Like the explanation of mates, mating bonds, etc. I was talking to my friend and she didn’t remember the catastrophe of not accepting a mating bond. Like all this stuff is so casually or nonchalantly talked about in the books that we as readers, can imagine whatever happening to the characters or the characters can do whatever they want to do. When in reality it’s much more grave. There are pretty dire consequences to things in this series. I don’t fault my friend because if I hadn’t joined the fandom I would’ve looked over so much too. So is sjmaas actually a decent writer if so many of us are able to look over certain things that she herself considers important or wants us to pay attention to? It’s not always clear what should be looked as important, but I’m sure it’s very clear to the author
I do agree that she at times drops information that could result in grave consequences for the character in a very offhand way but I think it's intentional. To your point about mating bonds (or unaccepted mating bonds), she had two characters who are completely in love with one another as the deliverers of the information, making that information a very abstract concept to them and the reader. And they were talking about a character who was mourning her fiance (a fiance who was not her mate) so again, it didn't feel like we were truly suffering the effects of an unaccepted bond between two character. It's sort of like watching the news, the reporter delivers a tragic story but when you don't know the person being reported on or it occurred in a state far away from yours, it's difficult to feel what those close to the victim are feeling. By the end of the series I think we'll have a better idea as to whether this was an intriguing approach or poor writing technique but right now I think it's meant to be possible foreshadowing (which would make it an intriguing approach). I think she likes to subtly provide the readers with information because she knows that down the line she's going to be giving us the angst that comes along with those dire consequences but she doesn't want us to be fully focused on them just yet. Sort of like subliminal messaging. And I've noticed that she provides the information while focusing on one couple or one person, tricking you into believing she's telling you what's in store for that couple, all the while gearing up to apply the information to someone you weren't expecting. Rhys and Feyre casually talking about a rejected mating bond between Elain and Lucien only to have Elain and Lucien end up with a rejected bond is a little too on the nose. Just like Feyre imagined that Nesta and Amren would be fast friends......they were....until they weren't. Her premonition only went so far and ended up with Nesta's found family being Gwyn and Emerie. And I think the intensity of a rejected mating bond between Elain and Lucien isn't something people connect with because in order for there to be true pain and angst, we'd need to see the effects of the male suffering and being driven mad by it being unfulfilled. Lucien is a main character who is most likely getting a POV and I highly doubt SJM would give him a POV that comprises of long term suffering. We know he's getting a HEA in the end with a love interest and 2 years of an unfulfilled bond then a rejected bond for another few months before he finds his endgame person doesn't really feel like what SJM was describing for rejected bonds. But a character like Helion, who we know has held a torch for the LoA for years despite sleeping with others? Knowing she stayed with Beron and had his children? That's suffering. A possible rejected bond between Mor and Eris where he was willing to suffer through his fathers abuse in order to free Mor from being forced into the Autumn Court where she couldn't find love with a female love interest? Where he's spent centuries without an accepted bond in order to free her? That's suffering. I do think it's all very intentional on SJMs part but we're not going to be able to truly answer that until the series is finished and we see if she ever did anything with the information she dropped.

No but actually I can’t stop thinking about that costume meta post by @canonicallyobserving911
Having both Buck and Eddie mirror their therapy clothes in 6x15 is such a LOUD choice.
Like, you could call it an accident on Buck’s side (though it feels unlikely) but then Eddie is literally repeating his therapy hoodie?? From Dumb Luck???
I was just talking to a friend the other day (who doesn’t watch 911 but lovingly puts up with my ranting and hyperfixations) and she was like “I can see a lot of the stuff but the clothing colors thing feels far fetched to me” and I just… like, I get it if you’ve never worked in filming/productions, but as someone who studied film and worked at several short films, you have no idea how hard costume departments go!
There’s a show bible. There’s a set of rules. There’s an aesthetic and color palette for each character. There’s a meaning and symbology behind what the characters wear and how and why they wear it. And this was only student/amateur level productions, sure, but we learned this process from professionals who had been working on the medium for decades! It’s the normal, expected, and DEMANDED practice!
Furthermore, there’s color theory. The director and the person you have behind the camera, they are looking at the whole scene and trying to tell you something through: framing, lighting, blocking, timings, music and color. Warm colors! Cold colors! Greens for hope! Blues for sadness or peace! Red for passion and love and wrath and violence! There’s an industry standard that works in film and tv because the audience is already used to subliminally making those connections (it’s psychological!!) and they are part of the language creators use to get the story across. You don’t have to know or notice them for it to be effective.
My point is that costume and make up departments put a lot of thought on what characters look like, down to their earrings and rings and other little details, and they are storytellers as much as the actors and directors and writers are.
So yeah, the costume meta for 6x15 showing Buck and Eddie in their “therapy clothes” is making me crazy right now.

Hey yall!
So, I’m not very confident in posting on Tumblr but I want to try to get myself out there more. I’m not ready to do a full intro yet (feels too permanent), so I’ll settle for maybe some small things + some reblogging for now. Some stuff you can expect from me is:
- Queer topics (especially trans)
- Fandom content (FAR too many to list here)
- Selfshipping/ F/O stuff
- Kinning/ therian/ otherkin stuff
- MOGAI/ xenogender stuff (possibly some coinings???)
- Art stuff
- Radqueer stuff (mainly transx)
- Reality shifting/ manifesting/ subliminal stuff?? (surf + ug)
- Agere (big comfort for me)
-Neurodivergent stuff
-Music stuff + any general interests (I have alot)
-Moodboards/edits (Not videos)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~///
P.S. I am not very active/consistent on any social, so bear with me. If you want to DM me, please only do so if you are between 13-18 (my personal boundaries), and don’t interact with anything of mine if you’re just going to attack/ harass (this includes reblogs), I’m just not up for arguing
All the best,
Shaine
My fourth house profection year is already fourth house profectioning. (is that even a word?)
Cycle breaker probs, am I right?
Anyways...since I'm feeling unhinged and chaotic from an unwarranted interaction with my mother tonight, here's a new post 😂
Tumblr media
Placements in my mother's birth chart that explain why I'm traumatized 😂 and how it affected my birth chart (An actual visualization of generational trauma in a birth chart + how our placements interacted)
I know some people don't like to share their personal placements for various valid reasons. But I've always been an open book and like to use myself as an example to help make things make sense, since I can explain how it's applicable really easily. It's the teacher Sag traits. And I don't mind it.
I'll give a trigger warning, since I'm talking about generational trauma. But I don't go into heavy detail about it (besides ineffective communication styles). Just casual mention of the area of life it's related to.
**Note: If you have these placements, know that having these absolutely do not mean you're a bad person or are bound to traumatize someone. I'm simply showing how a parent/child birth chart can correlate. It also can show how unhealed placements can react. Not everyone with these same placements acts this way. This is just how it reacts with my mom's personality and experiences. This is simply for fun and synastry. + to give a literal visualization of generational trauma in the birth chart **
I also hope this doesn't come off as insensitive. But if I don't laugh, I'll cry. I tried to keep it humorous, while offering a subjective and objective take simultaneously. And I like to see different ways placements can play out. Because they can play out completely differently per person. So I figured I would share it for anyone whose fascinated by this stuff like I am.
💥Aries Sun (mom) vs. Sagittarius Sun (me). These placements are usually seen as a great pair...however in a parent-child relationship, it was a nightmare (for my circumstances. Obviously this could be great for someone else). A lot of expectations were placed on me, and if I didn't answer her or react to her in a timely manner, it was catastrophic. Of course, I had a ton of leadership qualities and this angered her. She wanted to control me. I valued my freedom. I needed freedom. She could NOT handle the idea that I was my own person with my own identity and tried to live out her ego through me.
💥Aries Moon (mom) vs. Pisces Moon (me). I soaked up EVERYTHING. I could feel subliminal shifts in the air, and I was constantly accommodating her emotions. She would rage based on her mood and then would quickly forget she ever did it. She would treat me as if nothing had ever happened. As a Pisces Moon, this was so confusing for me. I was super sensitive and feared rejection. I was also really passive, which allowed her to dominant my emotions. She trauma dumped on me constantly. And I allowed her to because I was really compassionate and craved approval. The positives of Aries Moon would shine through every once in while, but it rarely benefitted me. (Cause I was the scapegoat). In fact, I would use the manipulative side of Pisces to shift her emotions to try to keep myself safe. It took years to unlearn this.
💥Aries Mercury (mom) vs. Sagittarius Mercury (me). We both did well thinking on our feet. We were both able to sustain the stamina needed to engage each other in arguments. I had a DEEP innate sense of justice (hello neurodivergency and Sag), while she had a narrow way of thinking. The goal was never to expand her mind, it was to win the battle of wits. Which she rarely did. I paid deeply for that 😂 but it was worth the satisfaction. Had she healed and worked on her self-growth, she could've been a fierce advocate for herself, me, and others. Instead, she cared solely about being right. I love Aries Mercury individuals, because they have so many strengths. But when someone only cares to control others, the negative traits are fiercely obvious. She also took my need to question the world as questioning her authority, so that was fun. It took a while to undo the habit of playing mind games for me, too (which Sag mercury is great at lol).
💥Pisces Mars (mom) vs. Sagittarius Mars (me). She'd make threats and fail to follow through on them. This placement might've been good for her if her Chiron wasn't also in Pisces...in the 5th house. *blinks aggressively* One of Pisces Mars' strengths is to express anger and emotion through a creative outlet. With a wound in her house of creativity and the sign of imagination....well, yeah. With Mars in Sag in the 12th, I was great at following through on my words and I definitely had a creative outlet for all of the pent up aggression. I think she got jealous of this at times.
💥Scorpio Rising (mom) vs. Capricorn Rising (me). Ahahahahah I'm just going to sit here and laugh at this one. No wonder it was always volatile. She was constantly transforming and I was constantly seeking structure. I was also big on accountability. She was ruled by the planet of death, destruction, and transformation. I was ruled by the planet of authority, accountability, and boundaries.
To make it clear, most of my friends are Scorpio risings and we work excellent together. We provide insight and have really similar life experiences in very different ways. In a healthy parent-child relationship, this is probably a great pairing. But a toxic one?? AHAHAH. Especially if the parent is constantly changing and the child is seeking structure (in an unhealthy environment). I imagine in a healthy dynamic, Scorpio Rising parents can provide their children with valuable life skills by teaching them resilience and adaptability.
💥Saturn in the 4th House (mom) vs. Saturn in the 3rd House (me). The 4th house is the house of family, home, and the mother. When I say my grandma was awful? oof. My mom definitely had mommy issues (but alas, so do I). She literally had blockages and hardships in the family & home. I was the family and home 😂 She also dealt with an incredible amount of trauma as a child. I really do feel for her. I can even excuse some of what she did if she just tried to be better now. She has the resources available to her to grow and heal, and she knows they're there and actively chooses not to use them. THAT is what I have a hard time with.
With my Saturn in the 3rd, I find it hard to connect with others. I have issues feeling like my voice holds power. A lot of the wounding with Saturn in the 3rd comes in childhood. It can also indicate issues with siblings. My brother and I had different childhood experiences because of our age gap. We had totally different parents even though we were raised by the same people. Part of that is because my Dad died when I was so young (LOL @ my Sun in the 12th).
Connecting Generational Trauma
Now here is where I can start drawing really cool parallels. Try to stay with me. I'll explain it the best I can.
My IC 4th House is in Aries, which is my mom's sun sign. IC In Aries indicates a volatile relationship in the home and family, often having an aggressive parental figure. Which it was.
Now, my Lilith is in Cancer. Cancer rules the 4th House. Cancer Lilith's are largely known for working through ancestral trauma on the maternal side. My mom's Saturn is also in the 4th house, indicating ancestral trauma from the maternal side.
My Chiron is in Libra. My North Node is in Libra. And my Lilith is in the 7th House. Libra and the 7th house are the house/sign of relationships. Usually affiliated with romantic relationships, but it can highlight other relationships as well. This is significant because my Lilith in Cancer in the 7th House is indicating a wounded relationship with the mother (among other things, but I'm focusing on this part).
However, my mom has had a long and toxic history regarding her romantic partners. Her Venus is in the 7th House. Which is an interesting observation to note as well.
Overall, this is LITERALLY a visual example of generational trauma being passed down in a birth chart. I think it's kinda neat.
ANOTHER observation is that her Venus is in Taurus in the 7th House. My Saturn in my placidus chart is in the 2nd house...which is the house of Taurus. My mom's side has a long history of toxic marriages. Something, I'm currently working through. Where my Lilith also is. WILD.
Additionally, my brother's Lilith is in Aries (my mom's sun sign) in the 7th House (same house as mine). TELL ME THAT'S NOT WILD. My brother's Saturn placement is also in the 2nd in his Placidus, like mine.
It gets even more bizzare. My brother's daughter has her Chiron in Pisces in the 5th. Literally handing that down to her from my mom.
This is why I love astrology. Back to observations.
💥We both have Neptune in the 1st. Neptune in the 1st is prone to being projected on. We projected our insecurities on one another, often making rash assumptions.
💥Her Chiron is in Pisces in the 5th. Her Jupiter is in Pisces in the 5th. This indicates that her luck and abundance is directly tied to her Chiron wound. And if she avoids working on it....well...yeah. And she had really terrible luck, ngl.
💥Her IC 4th House (the house of home | family | mother) is in Aquarius. My brother is an Aquarius Sun and stellium. I'm flabbergasted. My niece's IC is also in Aquarius.
Conclusion
There's a lot more, but that's just a few examples. I think it's neat.
This wasn't meant to be a trauma dump. Rather, a generational examination of birth charts. It helped me process some stuff too. And I figured others might find it helpful.
I joke a lot about my placements being awful and terrible, but I really do like them. I think it's just because I'm processing. And I like to joke.
I don't know who I'd be without my 12th house | Neptune in the 1st | Cap Rising placements. They make me who I am. And I like the strengths that come with them, even if it's isolating at times.
Some people find superiority in having extremely hard placements, by using them to discount others experiences. I will never do that and if I do, please call me on it.
But it's important to note that in astrology, there just are really difficult placements. It's bound to happen. And we each get some.
Every single birth chart will have challenging placements. Every single one.
it's just that some people end up with a little (or a lot) more than others. And sometimes, I believe, that it might be attributed to generational trauma.
So there you have it. An analysis of generational trauma across 3 generations in astrology. I wish I had my grandma's birth time just to see. But if you have your parents charts, I HIGHLY recommend looking at them. It can help you understand some of your placements a little more.
Also, if anyone disagreed with this analysis, I'd love to hear why. I love learning how others interpret.
How to write Cyberpunk pt1: Ads
I'm creating my own Cyberpunk story, and I would like to share with you some of the things I discovered along the way. This will be about how to create ads in your Cyberpunk setting.
Ads have been around for a long time but exploded during WW2. This post isn't about the history of ads, so I won't discuss how ads have changed over time. However, it's still good to remember how things changed when creating a story set in the future.
Ads used to be 1 minute long, then thirty seconds, and now there are five-second ads. How long would ads be in the future? Is it possible to see 1-second ads? With ads being so short, it's easy to put them in almost anything. Do you have a character that likes to play video games? Put ads in their loading screens like NBA 2K (https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2020-10-19-nba-2k21-adds-unskippable-ads-to-loading-screens)
Do you have a character that needs to use their computer and open some files? Why not throw a few ads in there? (https://www.theverge.com/2022/3/15/22979251/microsoft-file-explorer-ads-windows-11-testing)
How about trying to watch a movie and are being blasted with ads in the middle of the movie? (https://www.amazonforum.com/s/question/0D54P00007wqoW2SAI/why-i-am-seeing-ads-in-the-middle-of-rent-movie)
In a cyberpunk setting, you can put an ad almost anywhere, and it won't seem out of place. If this is already happening in the real world, it won't be weird to see it cranked up to eleven in a fictional world.
Let's not forget about targeting advertising. Your information is being bought and sold to thousands of companies worldwide, whether you like it or not. The companies that buy your information create ads based on who you are and then show you that ad. It has already gotten to the point where corporations already know if someone is pregnant. (https://www.forbes.com/sites/kashmirhill/2012/02/16/how-target-figured-out-a-teen-girl-was-pregnant-before-her-father-did/?sh=7ade582a6668)
Again, let's crank this all the way up to eleven and make ads that know everything about your character, just to sell them a lawn mower or something. "We know you haven't mowed your lawn within two months; if your lawn mower is broken, you should buy this brand new one, which works way better and faster than your old one."
Let's not forget advertising is more than just ads appearing in everything and are really personal; they're also subliminal. They don't scream at you to buy their stuff; they just stand in the background, so you know they exist. It's a bit harder to create subliminal advertising in a written work since the whole point of subliminal advertising is that it's not really at the forefront.
Creating subliminal advertising is a bit easier in comics, graphic novels, or other forms of storytelling that rely on pictures. All you have to do is create a corporation and just plaster its logo on every other page.
If your creating a written story but still want to emphasise subliminal advertising, creating a corporation that just happens to be around every corner to where your character is at is one way to get your point across.
Ads are a part of life, and in the future, where corporations are left unchecked, I can only imagine the type of ads we can expect to see. Have fun with it; if there's a way for a corporation to make money, an ad will appear.
Are the ArchieSonic comics actually an 80's/90's syndicated cartoon? Episode 62: Stuck in an elevator (part 2: Worlds Unite)
I'm attempting to upload both parts at the same time, so if you don't see the other one then treat yourself to a little refresh. But if you're reading this part first instead of part 1, just be aware that due to the lack of elevator stories in ArchieSonic, I expanded the topic to cover characters at odds with each other being locked in a room together. :)
The last story today is the second Sonic and Mega Man (well to be more accurate, the SEGA and Capcom crossover) crossover, Worlds Unite. Eggman had travelled to Lost Hex and enslaved the Deadly Six with the Cacophonous Conch, only to himself be captured and enslaved by the reploid Sigma, who was able to take control of the Deadly Six and also Eggman’s own robots. Forced to build the tools and weapons Sigma needed for his plans of conquest and evolution, Eggman requested someone to assist him as the work was too demanding for one person alone (but Eggman secretly was plotting to use someone as an accomplice or decoy for his own escape plans).
Tumblr media
Sigma found this request acceptable and presented Eggman with none other than his former BFF, Dr Albert Wily.
Tumblr media
These two had had such fun times together after meeting in the previous crossover, Worlds Unite!
Tumblr media
They did all the fun stuff you’d expect best friends to do together. You know - going on tandem bike rides, playing video games, stealing Chaos Emeralds, wagering on which of their enemies would survive the longest, transforming the Sonic cast into their robot slaves, resetting the universe in their own image. That kind of stuff. So what was it that destroyed their unbreakable bond?
Tumblr media
That.
However Wily had forgotten all about that by the time of their second crossover. Eggman only remembered because while Mega Man had successfully restored his own universe, Eggman had interfered with Sonic’s attempt at super chaos control. This resulted in the rebooted Sonic world, aka post-reboot ArchieSonic. When Eggman realised that Wily didn’t remember any of their previous encounter, he manipulated him with a false recap and Wily bought it, hook, line and sinker.
Tumblr media
Friends again, the two plotted to escape and take Sigma’s Genesis Engine for themselves. Their plan involved manipulating Sonic and Mega Man, who had been captured and roboticised (don’t ask how a super fighting robot can be roboticised, it just worked in this instance) into turning on each other. This would restore Sonic and Mega Man to their former selves, after which they would surely try to take down Sigma, and Eggman and Wily would be able to take advantage of the chaos with Sigma distracted by their enemies.
So the first part of this plan went off without a hitch - Sonic Man and M’Egga Man turned on each other, and their weapons transformed each other back to their regular selves while they also received a subliminal message that Sigma had done this to them and they needed to fight back against him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But unfortunately for Eggman and Wily, this happened earlier than they had anticipated. Rather than Sonic and Mega Man getting turned back to normal inside Sigma’s base, where they would have had easy kicking access to Sigma’s butt, this happened while they were still out on the unified planet. And since Sigma quickly figured out who had sabotaged his two newest enforcers, Eggman and Wily had to run for their lives.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But they were saved by Xander Payne, who used his new ability to shoot portals out of his face to rescue them and take them to the Sky Patrol, where the heroes of four worlds were assembling to plan their counterattack against Sigma!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But the heroes were sensible enough to immediately lock all three villains in the brig, so the trio were all essentially just trading one prison cell for another.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But Sticks decided to keep them company in their prison cell!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
However the prison food they were served was cursed Frogurt, with their choice of toppings containing potassium benzoate.
…that’s bad.
Tumblr media
No.
Anyway, the heroes very begrudgingly released Eggman and Wily in exchange for all the information they had on Sigma. And to their credit, Eggman and Wily did help in the fight, even managing to save everyone when the Deadly Six took control of all the robots in the group (and Bunnie too).
Tumblr media
But of course, they were still secretly plotting to get back to Lost Hex and steal the power of the Unity Engine for themselves. Which I’m sure surprised no one.
It’s okay though, because Xander Payne used them to get that power for himself instead and reset everything to how it had been before Sigma had come to Sonic’s world.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Don’t start that again!
Were there any other ArchieSonic stories that involved rivals or enemies being locked in a room together that I missed? Let me know in the comments! We’re almost at the end of this series now, so next week I’ll be tackling episode 63: the clip show to set up the two-part finale! See you then!
When people accuse other people of things, generally they're implying their personal shortcomings implicit, which would come about in the case of these failings of your own in their case. But in my case, this is so often what is happening, does there come a point where it should just be part of your everyday lingo to address that fact? Just, "okay, but I don't relate to that"
Update When I get people complaining about things, and it's usually not directed *at* me but just is something they're flinging about because they're butthurt (about something), it comes down to them speaking from without. That's it.
Great discussion
10/31 I usually don't have anybody who relates to me in the slightest in real life. So maybe not with casual talk, but serious talk really just exists as a whole to attempt to permeate their senses, stimulate their complexes, and return with what amounts to a hackneyed game of telephone. It doesn't even have to be about politics. All you have to do is emote on the level of personal experience with the outside world. They are absolutely on the opposing team. Unless you've moved to a better place than where you were likely born, stay away from other people. The contact you *do* get by existence day-to-day should be treated like coasting down a hill as it is - do not get comfortable and start talking *persnally* - that's literally physically dangerous because you're on a very sensitive position You don't *think* you are Basically you can consider the example of coasting down a hill where the more speed you pick up, the more sensitive the turning is.
You know our kind are all going to end in prison right? There's *no* way this ends well.
Update Just now, I went upstairs to reheat the Chinese food, and after finishing that, I went by the living room where both my parents were watching TV, and it was perfectly situated for the scene in They Live where the guy puts on the glasses for the first time and sees the subliminal messages.
Really, it sets me off more when modern media is actually synced to react to my own incidental residual feelings, where the media itself is going off like pop rocks according to them in real time, more so than the simple fact of media being placed in front of me for some outside dramatic irony.
Update The thing they try to do with gangstalking is demonstrate to you that everything you're seeing that only makes sense in context with *your thoughts* is a consequence of your own actions - nothing that is set up by this system is done manually, by anyone other than yourself, for having these thoughts, actively. What doesn't make sense, then, is that the way these things are shown is like they're popping off like pop rockets. These things tend to be put in context with some additional drama.
I'm still playing Golden Souls 2.
Between that article I found about Silent Hill 2 (James Sunderland isn’t Silent Hill 2’s antihero; he’s the villain - Polygon) and "reality favors liberalism", I feel like what they're *expecting* you to live with after the fact of this exposure is the application to everything that the simple fact of being affected by exposure to the elements is a self-own as a white man. I was in the Boy Scouts, so in a way, that doesn't make sense
It seems like more accurately, it's the stuff of Silent Hill 2 that would be the exposure being talked about. It's more like, *poverty* favors liberalism, as in this "I'm With Her"
With this game I'm playing, you can get through it, but you're not *confident*
11/1 night Taking from what I just wrote on imgur, basically, there is a psychological connection between doing work and doing one's *life's* work. If there's no connection between the two, there's no motivation to *do* the work. Retarded anons, by some means, made the mistake of this and called it "pussy". (No Pussy No Work)
Update I don't know what to say. Boomers do not actually have the testimony of having worked in the Industrial Revolution
It might have to do with the fact that within reason, everything that could have been innovated for the direct betterment of mankind this generation has already been invented. But what distinguishes our time from just the 2012 era alone is the fact of there being something more distinct arising in what society builds toward that does not favor us
Update Who had the idea of sexually stigmatizing Secessio Plebis
I think the entire idea behind its naming is that this sexual stigmatization like, "you're just sexually frustrated you can't get *laid*" (it is), is already creating this distraction from the fact of Secessio Plebis bearing legitimacy So NPNW is coined as if to say, this hand-having *back* of the sexual stigma by blaming it on women and *their* motivations forms the finishing blow.
Most people have not heard of Secessio Plebis.
A worker's strike is not the same thing.
No, an Apu rendition making himself smug with reassurance is made the focus. [(as opposed to spreading it to those for whom it would be the initial time)]
The actual mass of these people (albeit the actual percentage of working-age Americans actually in the workforce is arguably already the majority, if you believe the polls are skewed to minimize) are not doing this by any conviction.
We're not really in this together (that's more to say about how people out there sympathize with our cause)
Update You would think that this would not be intuitive as the conclusion as these people have further goals, but the fact of estimatingly eighty percent of the discourse being IDF shills will have forced them into moving the goalposts backward so much, they will be thankful with finality just to have gotten the word in edgewise for their own personal interpretation that they are reassured of the petty aspect. [(despite and overriding the fact that they already did it a million times - it's never enough)]
It's like the way past attempts at being a "groyper" asking questions to someone like Mark Zuckerberg were explained as, he just responds by enumerating the runarounds until you eventually forget what you were asking, except these anons are legitimately - filth
Update For too many people, it's going to come down to, "it's *women* that are the problem!"
In my take, if it's women as a problem, it's not "it's women that are the problem, not me!" - that's the petty aspect - it's, get your ass up, get prepared, and nail to the "village square", "remember the vaginal jew".
Update These people shilling are real believers, and they have their dogma that runs deeper than any of the things they tell you on the surface, which includes their arguments. It's always been this way.
There are people who say the elites really believe their occult nonsense, but I don't witness that transfer of mentality to the fact of believers in liberalism not coming out with their real motivations. The arguments are things they *use*. The fact that they seriously put their energies into these arguments does not add up to something threatening, though; it makes them less effective as a whole.
But yes, liberals really believe their power over emotional thinking gives them the power to hold these bad arguments that serve no purpose in and of themselves over us consistently.
Actually, that dominance over an area is, specifically, why TRS had that term "meatspace", and yeah, I don't like that
So in a sense, it is because of that that I think, when I have this feeling like I just don't want to go on 4chan, it's this nagging feeling over the fact that with 80% population IDF shills, this is more concentrated meatspace, with all of the underlying conflict exposed, than anywhere else
Now, even between TRS and 4chan, there is this thing which doesn't sound intuitive with the fact that they will spend a lot of their time, their overall spent time, saying it really is something we can be confident in that it's simply the jews. In practice, the quickest way to realize what the truth is is to recognize this theory and then apply it where things don't add up otherwise - in that sense, they are exactly what example the atheists have been made out of of the Left, starting from initial conclusion and then doing everything deliberating toward its confirmation You can say it's literally science - you have your theory, and then you fortify it Oh wait. It's you have your theory, and then you *test* it
Really, where it applies to my life, it means people have *complexes*
Update I've said it before - the actual psychology of jews - it's not something we relate to, and it's not something you directly invoke - that's grounds to get suicided
As it has room to apply in real life, on account of this gating with suiciding, the anon's war really is this proxy war against all people with complexes. It has never been any other way, and where it *has* impeded the rule against actually invoking jewish psychology inalienably, it's among what we deem the *smarter* anons who don't "post" - they only show up around every now and then
But as for the comparing of the application of theory, atheists are not operating on theory - it is emotional complex, and it is based in indisputable traumatic reality. So when it comes down to their arguments, it doesn't *affect* anything what they particularly are - in fact they relish in overt gish gallop (they *all* do (what I experience it come down to is, the rest of them take back seat while some hardcore poster probably with satan in his username gish gallops in ass *hurt*)) - what they are doing is all they have to be doing which is working you through the refresher, the American culture of pearl-clutching that existed primary in the seventies died - "LET GO OF IT."
So really we're out here treating preemptive knowledge of jews running around here as *theory*, when what we call leftists merely fucking up the scientific method mere theory as well. That's not at all what we're working with here, as the atheists have a monolithic cultural imperium to be drawing from
With the theory of jews, I don't even see how people are supposed to digest this.
It doesn't really matter what you think of leftists' arguments - professionals say and have you comply to, "let's put all that aside" It is *every* scenario. We're talking about what this culminates in. Whether you are merely Christian or a right-wing white nationalist, when a leftist has trauma ("believe women"), you can *not* invalidate the cultural atrocities they rally to their argumentative support. Ever
And people would naturally think like, "'remember the vaginal *jew*?' That's just a proxy for all people with *complexes*" - the people with complexes *are* the proxy
Update You could read that and be thinking, is our take, "we don't *hate* you; we just want you to stop being a *jew*"
Legitimately, the 4chan meme about insurrection against radical feminists reads, "we just wanted to be left alone".
Update You can say, taking the argument used against trannies, these people are traumatized - these people's argumentative legitimacy *comes from* the fact that they are speaking from their trauma!
Is someone going to come up and say, that proves it - the fact that this person is speaking from their trauma proves they are not in their right mind
(There is the 4chan-specific meme of some cartoon guy saying, guards, take this woman away - she has lost her composure. But that's really an appeal against anons' composure being lost in society - only relatable really there - makes sense that it's 4chan-specific.) The outcasting of trannies is really an outlier, similar to the exemplifying that conspiracy theorists do of the elites, in that the mentality of identifying what is found wrong is just *not applied* as it is found in the wider population - even anons are not really about the reality
And that brings me back to a point I wanted to make before - the fact of much more of reality being meatspace than any of us processed is just not something we want to ever think about
Update You would think it would be satanism thinking this way, since it's their own assumption that they rely on that things be meatspace as their higher nature so they themselves can take advantage, but when it comes to actually communicating to people about the hard issues, you have to realize the meatspace is plainly in front of you and learn to tread carefully
But honestly, in this case a lot of people would say it's better to stay away from there. Do you think there's an opening?
Do you believe that there is an opening in meatspace?
Update
That entire spiel that is the explanation of the ascetic priest - I think you're starkly leaving out the part where that's the ideal of satanism
(By sticking to 'survival of the fittest', he's going to *relativize* it [Basically, it took Stefan Molyneux to call out Milo Yiannopolos that time he justified his rapist in childhood - be it he said it made him into a man or what [and yeah that basically applies to the Kanye lyric (One Minute)]])
Update In fact, that concept of meatspace might apply better to the way jews perceive non-jews, because in the Middle East, they refer to blowing up neighboring civilians as "cutting the grass"
Update What I said before the brackets might be, but it actually being the ideal of satanism would apply in the eclipses it had with the most absolutist cynicism
Update It's an essential part of Nietzsche's explanation of the term that these people's mastery was to address all the things that tap into people's trauma
Update much later Are ascetic priests inherently satanist? Find out soon in the next installment (That is to say, I have no idea)
Update To clarify, we analyze in terms of their motives.
Total Frat Movie (2016)
Tumblr media
While I didn't enjoy this film, that doesn't mean you won't. No matter what I say, the people involved in this project did it: they actually made a movie. That's something to be applauded. With that established...
I gave Total Frat Movie every chance I could. This movie is both overtly and subliminally sexist, the plot is thin and unrealistic and the characters are little more than sketches on a cocktail napkin. Everything it has to offer, you’ve seen before in better movies. I knew this going in and still, it let me down. I might have given it half or even single star until the very end, when it shattered my fragile goodwill towards it into a thousand pieces. If you like this movie or don’t think it’s “that bad”, then you’re a sophomoric moron who probably prefers Girls Gone Wild videos to actual pornography, which makes you the lowest of the low.
Charlie Martin (Justin Deeley) has always dreamed of following in his father’s footsteps and joining the Alpha Chi Gamma Fraternity. When he finally gets in, a party stunt he organizes nearly burns the frat house down and the dean (Tom Green) shuts down Alpha Chi Gamma. Three years later, Charlie and his friends Billy (Alex House) and John “Douchenozzle” MacGyver have the chance to resurrect their fraternity - provided they can find 12 pledges within a week.
You can try, but it's impossible to keep track of how many topless women appear in this laugh-free comedy. I think even bare breasts will start losing their appeal once you realize there is nothing to the film's characters. Aside from a couple of basic quirks, everyone’s essentially the same person. Not helping is the all-white cast entirely composed of identical-looking dudebros. The film goes out of its way to make everyone as generic-looking as possible by even giving the stereotypical nerd a makeover at one point and making him look the same as everyone else. You’ll struggle to identify who Charlie and his buddies are trying to recruit, who’s been with them the whole time and who is actually part of the obligatory rival house of identical-looking white guys. The only way to keep track of the main character is by remembering that he looks an awful lot like a bargain-bin Chris Evans - but without any of the charm or acting talent. Well, that's not fair. This script does Justin Deeley no favors and in his defence, he’s nowhere near the worst performer in this atrocity.
This picture depicts college as nothing but non-stop parties attended by shallow mongoloids who constantly salivate over women who have no ambitions of their own. It's sort of a given with a title like Total Frat Movie so of course, you lower your expectations going in. Don't think that will protect you from disappointment. It gets the big stuff wrong and screws up the details too. As part of a ploy by the rival fraternity, Charlie is drugged, then raped by “Tanya Tatas” (Jordan Kearns), an adult film star. The crime is not only recorded, the video is posted on the internet… but no one says a thing. The assault results in Tanya giving Charlie crabs. So not only did the adult film star get hired by the rival frats to commit a crime on camera - because you would do that - she also has pubic hair - a rarity in adult film stars - and doesn’t undergo the mandatory testing all performers in the porno industry go through to prevent this kind of thing? There was a thousand other ways you could've written this plot, all of which would've made more sense and been less problematic.
Even with the aforementioned sexual assault that goes unpunished, this is a blatantly mysoginist film that’ll have your blood boiling. Every single woman we see ends up either in a neon-coloured bikini or naked - except for one: Katie (Rebecca Dalton), Charlie's love interest. It probably wasn't a conscious decision from director Warren P. Sonoda but the fact that she stays "virginal" indicates that she has value, whereas all of the other women in the film do not. I put virginal in quotations because she sleeps with Charlie after they have all of two conversations (which doesn’t stop her from judging him for being with another woman during a drunken party).
There’s so much to dislike about Total Frat Movie I could keep going on for another 1,000 words. The abysmal and generic soundtrack, wretched attempts at laughter, braindead conclusion, technical errors, lame attempts at being relevant despite the plot that would’ve felt old even in 1979, embarrassing recurring joke about female ejaculation… but you get the point. Just stay away from Total Frat Movie. (April 24, 2020)
Nearly half of Tfatws audience is minors and their parents. And this is a Disney show so... Maybe get this on HBO to see fan-favorite ships manifest unfiltered. Because the first and last unfiltered thing you'll see is the bloodied shield.
hi, i was just wondering if you could explain a bit more about reversed songs? how do they manage to get some words so clear when you play it back? do they record it backwards and then hide it in the song, or do they have to write lyrics that sounds like coherent english when you play it back? bc that seems like soo much work having to consider the lyrics backwards when writing, and to get it to sound good both ways
Hi, dear! Yes. Actually, I was just looking into this earlier, so thank you for asking. I think this is an interesting discussion for us to have.
It's a technique called Backmasking. It's not complicated at all. Nowadays it's such a simple concept and easy to pick up, we can simply play anything backwards on our phones/computers. But back between the 80s/90s, it was a big controversy. A lot of bands were accused of hiding evil and subliminal messages as a form of manipulation and all kinds of shit.
Here's what google says:
Backmasking is a recording technique in which a message is recorded backward onto a track that is meant to be played forward. Backmasking is a deliberate process, whereas a message found through phonetic reversal may be unintentional.
The Beatles, who incorporated the techniques of concrète into their recordings, were responsible for popularizing the concept of backmasking. Singer John Lennon and producer George Martin both claimed they discovered the backward recording technique during the recording of 1966's Revolver; specifically the album tracks "Tomorrow Never Knows" and "I'm Only Sleeping", and the single "Rain". Lennon stated that, while under the influence of marijuana, he accidentally played the tapes for "Rain" in reverse and enjoyed the sound. The following day he shared the results with the other Beatles, and the effect was used first in the guitar solo for "Tomorrow Never Knows" and later in the coda of "Rain". According to Martin, the band had been experimenting with changing the speeds of and reversing the "Tomorrow Never Knows" tapes, and Martin got the idea of reversing Lennon's vocals and guitar, which he did with a clip from "Rain". Lennon then liked the effect and kept it. Regardless, "Rain" was the first Beatles song to feature a backmasked message: "Sunshine … Rain … When the rain comes, they run and hide their heads" (listen; the last line is the reversed first verse of the song).
As for your question, what Harry did with both Sunflower and Boyfriends - same with the example of Rain in the text above. Is that part of the song is simply backwards. So when played forward, the words and the noises are pretty much unintelligible. But when you play it backwards, that's the "original" sound, so it sounds perfectly clear. There are other situations where you can try to say/sing words in reverse, so again, it won't make much sense when played forward and it can go unnoticed, but it will form words when played backwards.
What doesn't really happen is to have both sides making perfect sense and forming coherent words. That's what a lot of people have been confused about, I guess. And that's where all the theories come from. Which is okay.. Harry is clearly into the backmasking technique, nothing says conspiracy theories like hidden messages on a song LOL so I totally agree he would do that. But also, hidden messages when played backwards are supposed to sound clear and coherent. And I really don't want to be a bitch about that because I see people are having fun with it, but everyone listening to "Louis" and random words to every single music played backwards, you're just hearing stuff because words played backwards will naturally form another words. It's one thing to play Medicine in reverse and hear shit like I'M GAY or THIS SONG IS ABOUT SUCKING DICKS (which is what I was expecting tbh) haahahaah but people are hearing a bunch of random words and trying to make sense of it, and that's not what's supposed to sound. If Harry in fact hid more cryptic shit in songs in reverse, it should sound clear and the message needs to make sense, like Boyfriends and Sunflower.
Maul in the Plagueis novel
Well, this is driving me up the wall. I didn’t expect to get any of Maul’s perspective in this novel, but now that I have, I have thoughts. It’s a fairly short little glimpse - I’m not sure if there will be more since I haven’t completed the book yet - but even though it’s only just three pages long, there is so much to unpack.
First of all, Sidious and Maul are such a messed up relationship (for lack of a better word, since all the emotions seem one-sided from Maul’s part.)
A direct outcome of what Maul had accomplished on Dorvalla, Lommite Limited and InterGalactic Ore had merged and been taken over by the Trade Federation, which in turn had resulted in Nute Gunray’s promotion to the company’s seven-member directorate. In further conversations with the viceroy, Darth Sidious had demanded that the Neimoidians willingly sacrifice one of their Lucrehulk freighters, along with a shipment of aurodium ingots, as a means of funding an Outer Rim insurgent group known as the Nebula Front. Maul had been nonplussed by his Master’s decision to reveal himself to the group’s leader, as Darth Sidious had done in his initial communication with Gunray; then dismayed to learn that the leader—a human named Havac—had betrayed Darth Sidious by attempting to assassinate Supreme Chancellor Valorum on Coruscant. The realization that his Master could be deceived, that he wasn’t infallible, had had a curious effect on Maul. It had caused him unease, a sudden concern for his Master’s safety that had intruded on his ability to still his mind and find reassurance in the dark side. It was not fear—for fear was something alien to Maul’s makeup—but a troublesome disquiet. Disquiet for the being he had once tried to kill, and was perhaps expected to kill. All these weeks later he would still sometimes spend hours wandering through the LiMerge Building like a house pet picking up on the scent of its owner ...
More under the cut, since this got way longer than I intended.
The attachment that Maul has to Sidious is probably twisted a la the Sith way™, but it’s still upsetting to see that Maul does care about his master and outright admits to being unsettled at the thought that something might happen to Sidious - while Sidious just regards him entirely as a tool. We do get Sidious’ perspective on Maul on a few occasions (off the top of my head I can think of Shadow Hunter, but I haven’t read Wrath or Saboteur yet), and while he does acknowledge Maul’s strengths and weaknesses, it’s a very detached and clinical kind of appraisement. Something like, “Oh yes, hubris is his flaw. And he’s impetuous, it sometimes blinds him. But it’s true that he’s strong in the Dark Side, and full of rage and hate. Good stuff.” Considering Sidious took in Maul when he was less than a year old, and then abused him since Maul can remember, this kind of dynamic is chilling.
I also think it’s pretty clear (and tragic) just how warped Maul’s concept of autonomy is. We see it from his point of view throughout the books such as Lockdown, Shadow Hunter, etc.; the way he’s always motivated by a desire to succeed, not because success brings him any particular joy, but because he’ll most certainly be punished if he fails. And he’s so nonchalant at the thought of being punished! It almost makes you believe he’s not really afraid of it, because his entire attitude is, “If I fail, I’ll be punished, and I would have deserved it.” Like, to him, retribution for not succeeding is just the natural way of things. He doesn’t even realize such actions - even the threat of them - are a horrible violation of his autonomy as a person. He is so awfully and casually accepting of any violence and abuse that Sidious inflicts on him; I mean, this guy unironically likens himself to a house pet. Sniffing around for his owner. Aka Sidious. What the fuck.
And the thing is, on a subliminal level, Maul is afraid of disappointing Sidious, of the horrible punishment that will follow. He wouldn’t think about it so much otherwise. But he’s so emotionally stunted that he doesn’t register that it’s fear he’s feeling. “Fear was something alien to [his] makeup” my ass, he’s felt it every day of his life, it’s just that he can’t make heads or tails of it.
Then there’s this:
The rejection, too, had prompted questions of a novel sort. Of all the beings in the galaxy, the Dark Lord had chosen him to serve as his apprentice and eventual successor, and yet Darth Sidious had neglected to equip him with the very tools he would need to carry the Sith imperative forward. For all his attempts to familiarize himself with the political landscape and with criminal organizations—some of which were allied to Darth Sidious, others antithetical to his plans—he had a limited understanding of precisely how the galaxy worked. He grasped that the Sith’s war was with the Jedi Order rather than the Republic, but he had no real inkling as to how revenge was to be meted out.
Again. Maul thinking he means something to Sidious, that Sidious considers him his successor, someone worthy of passing down his knowledge and power to and entrusting with the future of the Sith. And Sidious does not consider him that. I’m pretty sure the Darth Plagueis novel makes it clear that Plagueis and Sidious have no intention of passing on anything to anyone. They regard themselves as the pinnacle of the Rule of Two era Sith, and their plans involve bringing themselves, and no one else, to ultimate power. It’s also explicitly stated that Maul was trained as an assassin who would do the dirty grunge work for them, not a legitimate apprentice or successor. They obtained an infant that wasn’t even a year old yet and decided they would brutally shape this baby into muscle for them to abuse, manipulate, and use. And discard, if he gets in the way! It’s... gosh.
And idk... the part about Maul not having a cohesive picture of how the galaxy works - I suppose you could say he’s naive in that regard - is disturbing. Keeping Maul “sheltered” (again, for lack of a better term) from that kind of know-how seems extremely intentional on Sidious’ part? It reminds me very unpleasantly of a grooming tactic: isolating your victim from everything else except yourself to make them totally dependent on you, keeping them from being able to think through and form their own opinions, etc. In Maul’s case, it feels like Sidious kept him ignorant of the world at large, so he could in turn keep Maul completely obedient and make sure he knew nothing outside of the life that Sidious gave him. Ick.
What, then, if—beyond contemplation—something untoward should befall his Master? Was there a contingency plan? Unlike Darth Sidious, who masqueraded as Republic Senator Palpatine and debated complex issues in the Senate, Maul lacked a secret identity. With his yellow eyes and horned head a black-and-red mask of arcane sigils, it was all he could do to prowl the fringes of The Works in the dead of night without instilling fear in nearly every being whose gaze he caught.
Once more! Maul being worried about Palpatine’s safety when we know the concern is not even remotely mutual. And yeah, I guess you could say that Maul’s anxiety at the idea of something happening to Sidious is borne of pragmatism; like, “what will happen to the Sith plan then”, and I do think he’s apprehensive of that too. But the fact that he calls the idea of Sidious being harmed “beyond contemplation”, as in, he can’t even imagine it, seems to indicate a strong level of emotional attachment. I think it makes sense - Sidious is almost all Maul has ever known. The concept of losing his entire world and the person who gives him purpose must be disconcerting to some degree. And this psychological dependence is probably exactly what Sidious was aiming for.
Maul had expected his life to change when Darth Sidious had relocated him to Coruscant. But in many ways the move struck him as a return to his days as a combat trainee on Orsis, waiting to be allowed to fight, receiving praise and rewards, only to be commanded to train harder. The occasional visits from his Master had allowed him to endure the isolation and superficiality of his existence. Only when his instruction in the Sith arts had begun, had he felt singular, purposeful ...
But he wasn’t entirely without hope.
On occasion Darth Sidious would hint at a mission of utmost importance that they would need to carry out together; one that would call on them to make use of all their powers. He had yet to provide details, even with regard to Maul’s studies. But he continued to imply that the mission was looming. And more and more, Maul sensed that it was somehow linked to his Master’s homeworld, Naboo.
Well, again I will parrot my previous point that Maul is emotionally attached to Sidious, that Sidious raised him to be emotionally attached to him, when conversely he only sees Maul as a weapon. But building on that, a lot of Maul’s attachment also seems to come from the fact that his Sith training under Sidious gives him a sense of purpose. Which makes sense. As far as he knows, he’s been raised to succeed his master and become the primary lord of the Sith, continuing their legacy. And he’s dedicated to it. So of course any (perceived) preparation for that is going to be what he looks forward to. And once again, I am going to reiterate that it’s supremely fucked up that Maul was manipulated in such a way: Sidious gave him a purpose that he never actually intended Maul to serve, made sure Maul considered his own identity and self-worth dependent on that fake purpose, and used Maul and his desire to fulfill that fake purpose (and by extension his desire to prove his identity and self-worth) to further his (and Plagueis’) plans.
Oh, and before I go to my next point, I want to emphasize real quick: Maul is ranging from a teenager to a young adult in the Darth Plagueis novel. At the very oldest, he’s twenty-two in these quotes. That’s... I can’t even begin to explain how screwed it is; that he’s that young and thinks like that, is accustomed to thinking like that. That he’s only worth anything if he can accomplish his missions. That if he fails, of course punishment should follow. That he’s like a “house pet”, searching for his “owner”. I... wow.
Moving a little into the future, I also thinks this idea of “purpose” explains why Maul has such a burning grudge against Obi-Wan after being cut in half. Of course a part of it is, you know, the pure fact that he’s been bisected. Then it’s what he was forced to endure in Lotho Minor. But more intrinsically, Maul viewed himself solely through the lens of: “I am the successor of the Sith and my master’s legacy” and “I must be useful, I must accomplish something”. When Obi-Wan defeated him, Maul lost all of that. Sidious abandons him without a second thought, destroying Maul’s self-perceived identity as his successor and the successor of the Sith. And in Maul’s mind, he failed. He was not useful. And for a long time it must have seemed like he’s never going to be useful again, because he has no legs and he has no way off of Lotho Minor.
Not to mention, his master threw him away. Didn’t come after him. Maul was forgotten and the galaxy moved on, like he never even mattered. I think that’s the crux of why Maul is so embittered: that because of his defeat at Obi-Wan’s hands, he became well and truly nothing. He lost everything that gave him purpose. And like... it’s not exactly wrong of him to be so furious? Of course, Obi-Wan was aiming to kill him. It was never his intention to make Maul suffer. But the fact remains that he did - that instead of just killing him, he did something that was, to Maul, worse: he took away all the meaning in his life. And Maul is angry and bitter and loathes him for it.
I always appreciated the depth that The Clone Wars gave Maul - it was probably the start of me liking his character. But the books take it to another level; he’s mindblowingly complex but also cohesive and you can almost see how the circumstances of his early life shaped him into the adult he became. With the context of his childhood and adolescence, all the violence he resorts to as an adult... it’s less horrifying and more tragic, in my opinion. Because I feel like there’s almost no other way he could have turned out. He had absolutely no one healthy to support him or to model himself off of. Children need stimulation and warmth and love in their earliest years, or their brain outright develops differently. Maul never had that - all he’s known since he was an infant is pain, abuse, and punishment. It’s interesting, because while I have seen lots of characters with messages like - “Being abused doesn’t give you the excuse to hurt others in turn”, which is true - Maul’s message is less about moral judgement than it is just straight up... sad. To me, it seems to simply be “What else could you possibly, rationally, have done?” It doesn’t justify his actions, far from it, but I find it hard to condemn him for being violent and hateful when he’s only known violence and hatred since he was an infant. Like, what else can you logically expect? He’s hardly going to make kindness/compassion/mercy/etc. a primary value when he’s never been shown an ounce of it in his entire life.
